Internet Explorer Not Supported - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

I am in need of assistance related to my IE on Pocke PC. I have a T-Mobile MDA with WM6.1 For Wizard OS 5.2.19209 buit 19209 WWE. My issue is that with this rom, I am not able to access my Wells Fargo bank account via IE. I get a message that the IE version that I am using is not supported.....blah..blah..blah. I was previously using the TNT.19199 Series V.2 (Offcial/Professional/TouchFLO) WM 6.1 Real Port and was able to access my account. I have tried other roms were this issue is present and others such as XM6r3, XM6r4 were they are not. I compared the different applications installed on these rooms (java) and cannot find a solution. Any assistance or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Wells is picky about what browsers they allow. They require at least IE 5.5, IIRC, and the numbers have to be valid versions of IE. (for example, "6.0" works, but 6.2 doesn't, since there's no IE 6.2.)
The solution is to edit your registry to make the phone's User Agent say 6.0. This was easier in the pre-WM5 AKU3 days, since the UA is now hard-coded in IE, and you can only add to the existing UA- not replace it with your own.
With a reg editor, go to HKLM/Security/Internet Explorer and add a string value called "Custom" with the value "MSIE 6.0". This might trick WF into believing you're using IE 6. If not, you'd have to use a different browser that allows UA editing (like NetFront.)
Alternately, you can use their new WAP site (www.wf.com), but it doesn't offer much functionality yet (just account balances, recent transactions, transfers, and a Wells Fargo location lookup- Bill Pay is supposedly coming "soon.") On the bright side, the WAP site is MUCH faster if all you need to do is see your balance, check if a check cleared, or transfer some money from one account to another. I often use it on my desktop for a quick balance check instead of the "real" Wells site!

Crossbow User Agent String

Does anyone know how to change the IE user agent string in crossbow? It seems the old way of doing it no longer works. This is how i used to do it in WM5 http://www.hpcfactor.com/support/cesd/s/0122.asp
I perfer to set my browser to look like IE6 running on Win2000 or XP so certan sites like www.google.com dont detect browser version and redirect you do their "lite" version of the site. PocketIE is perfectly capable of rendering the full site, and thats what i want to load.
I am currently on a search for getting access to wells fargo w/ WM6 and ran across this thread:

Dial-up Networking Via Bluetooth Under WM5 AKU3 / WM6: WORKING at last!! A MUST!!!

Anyone having read my article New dial-up networking model of the WM5 AKU3 – a must if you use your WM phones as modems knows WM5 AKU3 (and, of course, WM6) has dramatically changed the way dial-up networking is handled – not necessarily in the good direction. (Please DO read the article if you don’t have a clue what I’m referring to and you would ever want to use your Windows Mobile handheld as a cellular modem!)
Microsoft, so far, haven’t really done anything to the problem, except for publishing an article (also discussed for example HERE). Therefore, hackers needed to concentrate their forces on solving the problem. After the first failed attempts (for example mine, as is explained in the first-linked article), at last, some excellent XDA-Developers folks have managed to enable this feature with a comparatively easy-to-do hack. I’ve developed the hack further, making it compatible with several handheld models and ROM versions (the previous version available at XDA-Developers doesn’t support the Universal, Wizard and, probably, several other models because it doesn’t do any forced Registry import – it might only be compatible with the P3600.)
The hack makes it possible to use most WM5 AKU3 / WM6 devices in the traditional (pre-WM5 AKU3) DUN dial-up method, in addition to the new, in WM5 AKU3 introduced Internet Sharing.
This means you can use BOTH technologies and can have the advantages of BOTH approaches. With the “traditional” DUN dial-up, you still have the freedom of NOT having to manually start / reconnect Internet Sharing AND the ability to use clients not supporting the BT Personal Area Network (PAN) profile required by the new Internet Sharing. And, as Internet Sharing is still supported, you can still have a real internet sharing approach, making it possible to use the Internet on both the Windows Mobile device acting as a modem and the client that connects to it (and can still have the other goodies Internet Sharing also offers: for example, the accessibility of the phone even with an ongoing Internet session.)
Again, it’s almost impossible to emphasize how important, how revolutional this hack is! If you’ve EVER tried to use your WM5 AKU3 / WM6 Windows Mobile phone as a modem you know Internet Sharing can be a REAL pain in the back, particularly if the client you’d like to use it from doesn’t support BT PAN.
Installation
Import THIS registry import file (via, say, the brand new, EXCELLENT desktop-side Registry editor of SOTI’s Pocket Controller 6) and copy the contents of THIS file to the \Windows directory of your Windows Mobile device. Soft reset your device and voliá: after this, clients discovering the Bluetooth services your device provides will also see it offering the DUN service (in addition to the PAN one) as can also be seen in HERE.
After this, everything will work just great – as in the pre-AKU3 days. Follow for example THIS tutorial on using DUN modems if you don’t know how it’s done.
Problems
It’s incompatible with some HTC Wizard ROM versions, namely, the official AKU 3.3 T-Mobile ROM – see THIS. It, however, has no problems with mfrazzz's XDA Mobile 6 Release 2a Full at all.
It seems it’s incompatible with WM6 MS Smartphones (Windows Mobile Standard). I’ve tested this on my HTC Vox (S710).
Compatibility
In my tests, it worked just great on my HTC Universal (WM6 Midget version) and HTC Wizard (WM6 mfrazzz version 2a). A lot of people have reported other success stories; for example, with the AKU3 HTC Trinity (P3600).
Verdict
Again and again: if you EVER plan to use your handheld as a modem, this hack is a MUST!
Linux and Bluetooth DUN hack
I have verified that this hack works on XDA6R2a. I encourage all to implement it. I have a few cheap $5 bluetooth dongles that refuse to use internet sharing because they all have the same mac id (11:11:11:11:11:11)....but they will connect fine using bluetooth dun which doesn't care about the mac id....my linux laptop was able to connect fine using Bluetooth DUN and my desktop which has a more expensive bluetooth dongle (translation: Not a cheap chinese copy) was able to still use internet sharing with no problem.
For rom cookers..the exe and both dll's can be upx'd and get roughly a 50% compression rate. I've tested the compressed files and they still work fine. For those installing in their existing rom and wanting to save space, make sure you compress before you install the registry and reboot as your two dll's will be in use after that.
This will be built into XDA Mobile 6 Release 3 for the Wizard (in Beta now and testing this feature and the other new features in this rom). Thanks for providing this info!
UPDATE (07/29/2007): I've tried to extract the DUN-related files from my WM5 AKU3 HTC Oxygen (s310) smartphone and put them on my WM6 HTC Vox (they are available HERE; I've also provided two Registry import files in the archive. The first, SPRegImp.reg, contains the original S310 Registry contents; the second, SPRegImp2.reg, has a much bigger HKLM\SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ATCIUI\ Connections section).
Unfortunately, while, as opposed to the original case of trying to apply the PPC files, where not even the DUN service could be discovered, it seems it doesn't work: while the DUN service is already visible (as opposed to the original case using the PPC files), on my Vox, connection attempts fail with the same message as not importing the (original) Registry file on the Pocket PC.
I continue playing with the hack; hope I manage to achieve something. I still give you the extracted files so that you can also experiment with them. It MIGHT be working on your non-Vox Smartphohe.
Not works on WM5 TyTN - ROM 2.11.258.1
I followed the istructions of first post...
I tried to import the regitry key but PHMRegitryEditor returns me an error.
Then I put the 4 files in \Windows folder too
but nothing works...
Any idea to re-enable DUN on WM5 Hermes?
P.S.
neither "BT_DUN.cab", nor "WM6_BT_DUN.cab" (I found them on XDA Forum) works on WM5 Hermes

Plase do follow my earlier articles - in the Registry Editor Bible ( http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/menneisyys/UltimateRoundupOfRegistryEditors.asp ), I've explained why this is happening: PHM isn't compatible with RegEd 5 scripts.
Solution: use Resco.
Some CABs?
I tryed also with SOTI Pocket Controller Pro... Nothing to do!
It shoud be possible create a CAB installer for all devices, without using regitry editors, for this re-enabling operation? I'm not able.
Do you suggest Resco Regitry Editor for this case?

Not that important, as is also pointed out in my related tutorials. If you use *99#, the phone will use the default data account. No need for supplying anything extra.

It' s wrong... If I use only *99#, I'm not able to connect the phone to web...
But if I use the string, I can...
It's strange, but it happens.
Thanks so much for the bringing back the DUN to WM6. I can confirm that this setting works in my X01HT with official Dopod rom. I just use my default dial up string "*99#" for connecting my dell notebook to the internet. Only one thing to alter is the connection speed of my PC. I have to reduce the connection from 115200 to 19200 bps in order to have a stable connection.
One more thing to ask is when my DUN link is up, my phone's status display will not show any sign of a GPRS or EDGE connection as if there is no connection at all. Is that normal? Or, in other words, the PPC part of the PDA isn't aware of the phone part is making a connection ?
Follow up:
After testing it with other PC, this mod works on other desktop too. The port speed can maintain @ 115200. So, the slow down may be due to the BT setting @ my Dell notebook. I'll try to change the setting to see if it will improve or not.

It's no prob if you need to decrease the port speed - it'll have absolutely no effect on the real speed.
XM6R3 released with BT DUN hack installed by default
Just a quick note that mfrazzz has released the XM6R3 edition for the HTC Wizard (Tmobile MDA, Imate KJAM, Cingular 8125 etc) and it included bluetooth DUN by default along with regular internet sharing.
The link to the rom is in my signature.

thank you!! this is the firs time i've had some progress with connecting via DUN
it wasn't ever able to use DUN, until using your command.
now i have an other problem though:
my pc connects, writes "Registering your computer on the network...", waits for 20 seconds, and then times out.
any ideas?
EDIT: it works! i didnt know i needed to change "APN_own_operator" to my APN. i thought it was a constant variable that tells the PPC to dial the default APN.

As far as your phone is concerned..when you are tethered using bluetooth DUN it has NO gprs connection...thats one of the benefits of Internet sharing..both the phone and the tethered device can SHARE the internet connection....using Bluetooth DUN it's one or the other..not both.

Sure it is.
unfortunately this important hack has no effect with my universal (qtek 9000) with Aku 3.5 ITA by FLY rom.
How i can to use my universal as a gprs Bluetooth modem with this rom?
Thanks in advance.
Its stuff like this that must make phone carriers go nuts. IMO the fact that people here can't get their phones to work as modems is due to too much fiddling with the roms. Both my 3g phones work as modems out of the box in both ways (sharing and dial up) with no extra effort required. Any problems interacting with some pc seem to be due to the pc and not the ppc. I have 5 windows based computers at home and the ones that have working blue tooth can both use dial up. The rest that need the usb cable can only work with the sharing mode. There were no tricks to get it working - it just went.

Dial-up Networking Via Bluetooth Under WM5 AKU3 / WM6: WORKING at last!! A MUST!!!

Guys and gals, sorry for not re-editing the entire article so that I can incorporate the update into the main body of the article. Hope it’ll be still be understandable.
UPDATE (10/02/2007): there is an even better, easier-to-install and, what is more, even MS Smartphone (Windows Mobile Standard)-compatible hack. Just download the CAB file linked from THIS post (I’ve also mirrored it HERE, just to be on the safe side, should you not want to register at XDA-Dev to access the download), install it (by simply clicking it on your handheld), power down your device (if it’s a Pocket PC – in order to make sure the Registry changes are all flushed) and restart it.
This hack will add full BT DUN to both platforms. I’ve thoroughly tested it on both my WM6 HTC Universal (a Pocket PC) and WM6 HTC s710 / Vox (a Smartphone) and found it excellent. Note that the traditional, BT PAN-based Internet Sharing will still work alongside with the added BT DUN (tested on both devices).
Note that it has a minor annoyance. After you terminate the connection, you will still be unable to access the Net on the Pocket PC or Smartphone that you used as a modem (also see THIS and THIS for similar bug reports). The solution to this is pretty simple: instead of (lengthy and/or awkward) soft resetting your handheld, just make sure you tap either the data connection icon in Comm Manager (this seem to be sufficient with Smartphones) or, as with, it seems, with Pocket PC’s (like the Universal), just dis- and, then, re-enable the phone connection itself (or, alternatively, en-, and, then, re-disable Flight mode). This all makes this small bug easy to live with.
Finally, Smartphone users: remember NOT to long-press the Red dial button to lock your device – it’ll also terminate the call. Instead, use the standard lock menu accessible via the Power button.
There is also a tutorial on making USB connection work with Modem Link HERE, should it be messed up. Also, the entire thread might be worth giving a read, should you still have problems.
Thanks for FX Belloir for pointing out this hack!
(end of update, the now-outdated original article follows. This means you’ll want to prefer the new hack explained above, NOT the old one I still keep for historical purposes only. It's only the first sections, which explain what this is all about, are worth reading for casual users.)
Anyone having read my article New dial-up networking model of the WM5 AKU3 – a must if you use your WM phones as modems knows WM5 AKU3 (and, of course, WM6) has dramatically changed the way dial-up networking is handled – not necessarily in the good direction. If you have bluetooth on your device, then I believe it will work on your device! If you are trying to configure the bluetooth {"DUN"} dial-up configuration setup on your Motorola Q9c, then it will never work. Just install the bluetooth Dun.cab on your Motorola Q9c to the MAIN MEMORY! (NOT IN THE WINDOWS FOLDER)! Soft reset your device. Next turn the bluetooth on, pair the two devices, now the Motorola Q9c is ready to be use as a "modem" for bluetooth {"DUN"} dial-up. Nothing else is to be done to the Motorola Q9c. The bluetooth {"DUN"} dial-up configuration setup should already be on the other device (PDA, Laptop, ect...) that you paired with the Motorola Q9c............! The directions that I'm giving you are for the bluetooth Dun.cab in my thread only............!
VZW Moto Q not working
Okay so I tried the .cab file and stupid me forgot to back up my device before hand. Yeah now I don't have any working Bluetooth.
2 questions.
1) Could someone please provide me with the files from a WM5 AKU3 phone?
ATCIUI.exe
ATCIUI.lnk
atcmdint.dll
bthatci.dll
2) If I can't get these files from someone will a Master Reset get my device back to normal or will it leave the broken files still in place.
This worked great on my Treo 750 w/ATT used it on my TomTom 920. THanks!
Anyone got luck using this on a HTC S730?
I'm trying to access the internet from my QTek 9000 (HTC Universal) through my HTC S730 phone. No luck.
On QTek 9000 (with crossbow's WM6) no clientside PAN is supported and on HTC S730 I cannot get DUN working...

Your quest is similar to one I have. I have a T-Mobile Dash with HTC-S620 WM6.1 Smartphone ROM and EDGE data that I want to access the internet from a SE TM506 with HSDPA 3G data. There is no clientside BT PAN on the S620 and no way to BT DUN to the TM506. I have clientside serial port on the S620 to the TM506 but no app to take advantage.
So far quest was futile.

Help for WM6 GSM dial-up internet connection
Hello,
can anyone help me?.
I would access internet with my cell phone (Samsung SGH i780 os WM6) without having any kind of fast data connections with my provider, like gprs edge or hsdpa.
In other word I would connect to the service with a dial-up gsm connection at 9600bps, but WM6 seems to haven't capability to connect to internet this way.
I found here: http://www.modaco.com/content/smartp.../#entry1048254 some related like informations, think to understand that this post tells about to connect a BT device like gps, trough BT connection of a WM6 cell phone, via DUN to internet; someone think this could also be useful for me? If so how?
Please forgive me my english I hope it could have be understandable.
Tankyou.

[Mar 24, 2008] Boring ROMs 5.2.1629 for AT&T, T-Mobile and now vanilla flavored!

Updates
Mar 24, 2008 - All ROMs: Updated to 5.2.1629 (Build 18136.0.4.8), upgraded Smartdialing, removed registry hack for menu sounds. On AT&T 8125 ROM only: replaced Westtek ClearVue PDF with AdobeLE PDF Reader 2.0, Intent Tao Java with Esmertec Jeodek, and HTC PhonePad with HTC Touch keypad.
Jan 28, 2008 - Added vanilla ROM in kitchen form (see below).
Dec 20, 2007 - Original T-Mobile and AT&T releases.
Here is a ROM so boring, it looks like a run-of-the-mill carrier-branded OEM ROM with all the same apps and equally as bloated! This was my first effort at ROM cooking, so please don't judge too harshly!
I currently have 2 boring versions for USA devices, one for the AT&T 8125 and one for the T-Mobile MDA. Both are built on the latest shipping version of WM6 I could get ahold of: 5.2.1629 (Build 18136.0.4.8) from the Sprint Mogul (HTC Titan) which was released on Mar 10, 2008.
Why 5.2.1629?
This is possibly the newest real WM6 available right now. 19xx builds that are "AKU 0.7.0" are older eval ROMs. If there is a newer shipping build out there, let me know about it and I will update accordingly.
I believe PagePool is 8MB.
Your device must be SuperCID to use these ROMs.
1. For AT&T 8125
This ROM was originally based on a port from the 8525, but I've changed a few apps since companies of some of the apps are no longer in business (i.e. Intent Tao).
Apps:
ArcSoft MMS 3.5.1.24C
Cyberon Voice Speed Dial v1.2 Build ??????
HTC SmartDialing v2.5 (Build ??????)
HTC Zip v1.20 (Build 27216)
Esmertec Jeodek (replaces Intent Tao Java - no longer in business)
AdobeLE PDF Reader 2.0 (replaces Westtek Clearvue PDF)
HTC Task Manager (X-Button) v1.51 Build 30470.
HTC Camera v3.00 (Build 23027).
HTC SIM Manager v6.31.
HTC Comm Manager v1.8.1.0.
Windows Live (because 8125 had MSN Messenger)
Remote Desktop (because 8125 had Terminal Services)
HTC Touch Dual Keyboard (replaces PhonePad, it's a big improvement)
VoIP
Registry modifications:
10-buttons in Comm Manager.
SAPSettings moved to Control Panel (never tried it, but looks interesting).
KNOWN BUGS:
Wifi notification always says "Turn on Wi-Fi" even when it's already on. This is a WM6 bug that even the 8525 shipping ROM has (at least, according to threads I've read on another forum).
AddContacts.exe in ExtROM doesn't actually add any contacts for some reason.
AT&T 8125 ROM Download (OS only)
The extended ROM is not included in the above download. The ROM should work fine with the Cingular extended ROM. However, I have 2 flavors of ExtROM available. Both ExtROMs will change your splash screen to the 8525 AT&T logo and give you the AT&T theme, HTC default ringtones, and other AT&T settings.
Basic ExtROM+Splash - Rebranding from Cingular to AT&T, just basic CABs to set the theme, etc. NO TRIALWARE.
Full ExtROM+Splash - Contains all the trialware from the OEMOPERATORS of the 8525. You will get a bunch of trial software that expires in 30-days like XMRadio, MobiTV, MusicID, and other stuff.
2. For T-Mobile MDA
This ROM is virtually a direct port from the latest shipping T-Mobile Wing ROM. Basically, it is the 5.2.1622 core OS and merged it with the OEMAPPS from the Wing. The ExtROM is INCLUDED with this ROM and if allowed to customize, will install T-Zones and all that. HTC default ringtones were moved into ExtROM to make room. It seems to work okay, but there are some things I can't test like MyFaves - it doesn't even show up, but I don't subscribe to MyFaves and the Wing manual implies you need to subscribe to it for it to even show up.
Apps ported directly from Wing:
ArcSoft MMS 4.0.31.15
Esmertec Java 20070124-113964.2.1
Adobe Reader LE 2.0
Bluetooth Explorer
Symbol Pad
MyFaves 2.0
Apps upgraded/changed from Wing versions:
HTC SmartDialing v2.5 (Build 27526)
HTC Task Manager (X-Button) v1.51 Build 30470 (original was 1.5).
HTC Camera v3.00 (Build 23027) - Wing camera wouldn't work on Wizard.
HTC SIM Manager v6.31 - Original was 5.something.
HTC Zip v1.20 (Build 27216) - Original was 1.11.
Registry modifications:
Start menu sounds.
Items removed:
LockStream DRM (caused problems, had to remove it).
KNOWN BUGS:
AddContacts.exe in ExtROM doesn't actually add any contacts for some reason.
T-Mobile MDA ROM Download (OS+ExtROM only)
3. Vanilla ROM
This is a "vanilla" ROM using the 5.2.1622 core. It's nothing more than SYS, OEM, and ROM folders (it is NOT flashable as is). Just drop into the Build folder of your favorite kitchen, put your packages into the OEM folder, and cook your own custom ROM. It comes with only the camera (in the HTC folder) and CODECs (in the Default folder), although you can remove that and use your own if you wish. It does come with the necessary drivers and base control panel apps.
Vanilla SYS, OEM, and ROM folders for cooking (OS only, this is NOT a flashable .nbf file)
BUG REPORTS - Please list exact steps to reproduce any bugs that are found.
Sorry for the crappy screenshots, I don't have a good free program for that.
ALL FILES REMOVED. I'll explain later.
glad to have some fresh builds... thanks for your hard work, i'll post up any issues i find, flashing the nbf first then i'll pull it apart later. since you have both, have you found that only differences between the two are the installed apps? or have you found major differences in the default and user rgus? i'll report what i find after i pull them apart...

if you have any input about going further with this, please pm me, i would appreciate help or suggestions.
the current challenge for me is how to remove the dlls from the memory map so that i can remove the camera and netcf, etc... i have no idea how to do that and can't seem to find any pointers how to figure it out.
i've been trying to get the oemdrivers to extract with the missing files, but i can't seem to get it to work. ive tried builddsm in many ways, hand editing the dsm several times, and merging with the format of the tmo version. i dont understand what all the gibberish is before the file listing... it will build just fine, but i get a viewimgfs error on extraction. i have one more thing to try, but if anyone knows more about the dsm structure, i'd love to know how the system dsms are laid out...

Here is the aio radio, ipl/spl, and splash screens that i use after every flash after tmo 2.26, just makes it a little easier...
2.19.11_3.08_WM6Splash_BlankExt.rar
from the following files:
IPL_SPL_3.08
T-Mobile-UK_2.19.11_Radinly
WM6_Splash_Wizard_NOID
Blank Extention Rom
______________________________________________________________
in case anyone would like to try it out, here is radio 2.71
i used it for a about a week and i like it better than 2.69. the performance is probably similar, but it seemed to be a little quicker for signal, little better call volume, and a little less battery drain. i did say a little, it's probably all in my head. i don't know about any missed call issues, but i rarely get phone calls, just sms and email.
radio_2.71.rar
2.19.11 works for me with good batt life, i guess i just feel better running the proven one...
I ended up using the same default and user rgus for both the AT&T and TMO. I did go through each to see if there was any customization and there was, but it was identical to the customizations in the OEMAPPS rgu so it was unnecessary to have them also in the default.rgu. Most of the other customizations especially for the TMO ROM are in provxmls.
so far, the stinkular one seems like a very decent base. after flash i had i bit more that 29mb free, which for a 6mb page pool is very good for a stockish rom. also seemed very responsive and fast when using file manager. the glyphcache is 8192 and auto and 0 for the file system caches. i did try to pull it apart, but imgfs craps out, much like tnt 1933 official. so ill see if i can get the thing to extract and then mess around with it.
the tmo one is, well tmo with ext rom running, 27.5 free and without 27.58 . whee! i hate tmo.... anyways, looks to be a good base after stripping it and it doesnt have problems being dumped. maybe i will see what can be done with comparing the two, and paring down the wing version... the att version at least has still has sqm, so i have to take that out...
looks good gnat, very good for your first port!
Your awesome dude. This is great. I will flash tonight and see how everything goes. Thanks

ok, i lied... didn't check... tmo one has 8mb pool, so change to 4 (the best) and 32.5 mb free!!! time to start stripping
Sorry about that, for some reason I was sure they had a 6MB page pool, but it was a long time ago that I checked and I guess my memory isn't what it used to be! Both ROMs should have the same page pool so 8MB for both.
Mirror download, please

if i use the normal core pro, viewimgfs crashes but it looks mostly there... i just don't trust imgfs anything crashing
i flashed it and the extracted the os.nb with WST then generated the nbf and extracted again. Plenty of missing files (so no dsm or rgu is how that happens right?) but easy to fix... not sure what the original problem was, but i can play now
Why does the data connection to edge/gprs connect when I want to send/receive email through wifi?
I tried going into the command manager but there is no settings for data connection.
Is there some kind of setting to stop edge/gprs from connecting
and thanks for the rom
voip setup
Is there a friendly way to setup internet calling with this ROM?
I tried wm6voip.cab but it didn't work

Is that not typical? For some reason I thought the original WM5 did that too, but I can check on that later.
I did have a program to stop the GPRS connection over WiFi, I think it was Modaco NoData. You can get it here:

Schap's has a VoIP setup utility. I don't use VoIP so I haven't tried it. You can find it here:

Glad to hear the MyFaves works! That's something I couldn't test myself.
Sorry to hear about the difficulties some people are having pulling the ROM apart. I'm not sure why there are problems, I can try to fix it when I get back to work. I might be as simple as I need to rebuild some dsms. Better yet, if there's demand for a vanilla ROM, I can make one of those too. I just need to know what most people want and don't want in a vanilla ROM. Probably best to leave the vanilla ROM in kitchen form too?
I'm on vacation from work where all my files are so the soonest I can get to it is in 2-weeks (Jan 7).

My Faves, Extended Rom, Keep the wing ...., what you need to get the myfaves i their.

Are these rom's compressed or not (cooked with Tadzio's toolchain)?

Microsoft Reader Factivation

I not know anybody do it before, if no it is long over due.
Microsoft Reader for Pocket PC is here long as I remember, it it nice reader but their activation method are pain in [email protected]@ if you use their Internet Explorer it many time fail complete activation (you can no use other browser because it is Microsoft and use AX, MS think *nix users must go [email protected] themself?).
And you can activate 6 devices maximum, very generous Microsoft!
Here solution:
Perpetual Activation for Microsoft Reader
It is no hacking.
I simply take advantage of Activation Process "logic hole", it is all.
Up when they change activation proceses (doubt) or patch MS Reader on next ad hoc version (more possible, but it required full build *and* it not stop this activation work on Windows Mobile with MS Reader 2.4.x installated).
This NO is keygen, crack or warez.
I find it (literary) in Microsoft, is all I can say.
Name it "factivation" from Freedom Activation (or [email protected] your stupid activations, Bill...)
I want post it with my real name, but I change mind, one never know what future is next, and law change every day
Install Microsoft Reader for Pocket PC
reboot
Install Microsoft Reader Factivation
have MS Reader activated at open.
It is all.
work on: Pocket PC Windows Mobile 2003, 2003 SE, WM5, WM6, WM6.1 (tested) with Microsoft Reader version 2.4.1
It may will work on WM 2002 if use Microsoft Reader version 2.4 and not the old one (no tested but may work).
Sorry my english!

This software not violate any EU Law in my knowledge.

Update on the M$ website
Please note that we have recently posted an update of the Pocket PC/Pocket PC Phone Edition version of Microsoft Reader.
This update addresses activation problems experienced by the users of some Windows Mobile 5.0 and 6.0 Phone Edition devices. In addition we have made it easier to use Microsoft Reader with device storage cards

I have tried to activate my Titan since MS updated to make activation "easier", and just like in the past it didn't work with two separate attempts. I would love to tell the useless MS Reader team where to go. As of now I am through with that crappy product and have switched over to eReader - simple activation that always works and a better UI. I just wish I could get the money back for all the .lit format books I've bought over the years.
/edited (because exploit works)
Cool Exploit, thanks for sharing.
I put this in a cab with MSReader and it seems to work great!
didn't work
I tried the instructions as described above on my ATT Fuze (winmo 6.1) and it didn't activate my copy of MS Reader.

Me too tried as described but Reader did not activate anymore...
I still can't read my bought books
Surely Your Cab is fine, but not rof my device/rom/sw.
Anyone has some other ideas?
Anyway, my device is HTC Touch Diamond with default ITA H3G Rom 6.1, MS Reader 2.41.

Francesco
It works great on all WinMo 2003SE/5/6.1 PocketPCs I have, all with the latest MS Reader 2.4.1 from microsoft's website.
I'd say PM the author if it doesn't work on your device, maybe there are some variables he (she?) have missed?
Didn't work on my Fuze either but did work on my Kaiser.
Oh well...

I was looking to make MS Reader more touch screen friendly on my htc Diamond (like go to next page on swipe right for example) and my google search turned up this thread. It greatly interested me (even though it wasn't what I was looking for) as I've had problems with my MS activation for some time (on another device). The big problem is that I don't know the heck as to what I'm doing (in this sense). Please excue my ignorance. While I know a fair bit about a lot of things IT this has me confused (outside my area of expertiese no doubt). The contents of the compressed file don't contain anything that looks like I can install it except "_setup.xml".
How does one run "_setup.xml"?
Just like any .exe file?
I've already run a search on this site to try to figure it out but my search foo must be weak because I'm none the wiser.
Any help would be appreciated

From what I understand you have unpacked .cab file (which you shouldn't - it is not .zip or .rar compressed archive, although it may look like one on your PC if you have winzip or winrar set as default viewer for .cab files).
Just copy the .cab file to your WinMo device and double tap on it, that's what you should do.
downloaded will test it later..
and hey mate
thanks for this.. :-D
worked like a charm thanks!
It works on HD2 and 2.4.2 USA version (Italian version and others are in 2.4.1)
Really great!!!!!
Great application -- thanks a lot!
