In my opinion: not Rom, it's radio version which you use.

of all roms i have try in my kaiser the best one is this

For me I am back for the 5th time to Sleuth V3 for baterry life

hi,
in terms of battery life, the best build is 19199, in my case with niki radio .1.58.16.27...
cheers

For me build 19199 - dutty's.
Radio also affects battery life greatly, but using the same radio with different roms in the last few days 19199 gives the best battery life.
But i have not tested with Dutty's new Hybrid rom launched last night - will be installing that later today.

Does that mean we should flash to old ROM from dutty's Build 19716 to get best battery life ?

Yes, but the ROM also has a lot do with it.

I concur - 19199 gave me an IMPRESSIVE increase in battery life, to the point that I stopped downloading other ROMs...

i suggest: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=368330
upgraded today...lifetime battery is the best that i've ever seen...(in R0 release, i mean )

This thread has just proven its self to be useless. There are way to many variables, such as rom, radio, location, apps running/installed for someone to give an answer. THis is just a personal preference question. Figure it out for yourself like everyone else has done.
I have a suggestion, flash away until you find one that fits your needs and for the love of GOD, quit making new threads that ask questions that everyone will give answers to based on personal preferences.
Why oh why?

I think this thread is helpful for newbies like me...

I´m testing the battery lifetime with the help of a tool called BattBench.
First of all, I put the device into flight mode, turn all lights down an then I test rom by rom to see which has the best battery performance, independent from radio, apps etc. (no apps are installed).
I got the best result with Duttys Hybrid rom, right now I´m testing his updated version, if it has the same result as his previous one, I will test this rom by changing radio rom by radio rom.

Dutty's new Hybrid Rom has especially good battery life.

yesterday loaded 19199 Full. the navigation isnt smooth as 19716. is there anything I am missing ?
When I want to scroll thru contacts 19716. I can scroll using my finger itself but 19199 doesnt respond, need to tap every time. I really want to use 19199 but with out the touch sensitivity i think its really hard to take out the stylus everytime to tap.
Any idea how to make the touch screen more responsive ?

Rom for best battery life

im using Crossbow Reloaded because i read that it was good in battery life which i need
but i also read that Core 2.0n is also good in battery life
WHAT IS THE BEST ROM FOR BATTERY LIFE????
Avoidt using GSM 3.xxx & above
Basically WM 6.1 has good battery life btw u can try these rom's having verygood battery life
TNT the .19XXXX series and .20XXX series by ITS RIGHT
AMP v2 by CHARACTER
xda2haseeb's wm 6.1 roms also has good battery life
Also you can enable power management by advanced config tool which improves battery life and some rom's comes with all the power management enabled by default.
Battery life depends on what ROM and applications you are running with it! Mostly it is user dependent, and location too! So just keep trying different ROM until you find the one it matches your needs.
I have Final Final Angel by RoryB/SVI
I just loaded Final Final Angel by SVI/RoryB. - OS (no IPL/SPL) and have radio rom 2.71.11

It's fast but hasn't got much extras. However, it has around 30Mb free RAM so it's useful for web browsing and other "memory eaters". I recommend you to try Cracing or XDA2 roms, both good, on my device the Cracing was faster, but it also depends on the build. Try any of them, you can easily change it if you don't like it.
P.S. I've never tried WM 6.1 so I can't say anything about it. It may be better in some way but I don't know.
Good luck!

That's a question almost imposible to answer. It is very subjective, battery life depends on the use of the phone and the features you have activated. The brightness of the screen and so on. I have used CM7 and Absolution roms and both have great battery life. I am using CoreDroid wich is a sense rom and is also great. If you flash a rom you are recommended to use the radio that works better with that rom but it is not compulsory....just make sure that you give time (at least a week) for the Rom to settle....
Before this thread is closed.like the above member said its hard to say so many roms to use. I'm on wc wild child.Rom but its closed for now Damn good Rom and battery is good. Just depends lot of roms on here offere different kernels and radio / rils to help with battery and single just look into the threads of killersolth he has so.good uv scripts to help with battery his work is amazing. But also most roms have the right radio and ril to go with it. Just look around the threads

each person has different experiences because they use their phones in different ways. Also each person's radio consumes different amounts because of the area they live in.You are asking for everyone's opinion which is all it is without legit testing data. This could eventually turn to a e-peen contest of 'whos best' so I would suggest try out some roms and find one that works for you. there are too many variables involved for there to even be a possible 'best rom for battery'. Rule of thumb, the less your phone does, the more battery it will conserve. So keep that in mind.

[Q] stock rom vs custom rom

good morning,
i'm quite new on this phone even if It works fine for me with a stock rom 4.0.4 I would you like to understand if there is a good advantage to pass on a custom rom.
Please share with me your experience and answer with my few questions:
what kind of custom rom and kermel you have on?
which is the difference there is in term of battery life; performance; stability.
Thanks for your help
Welcome to the Nexus ... you're going to love this phone. With that said, you need to jump in and do some reading. There is no shortage of opinion on which rom, kernel, or even GB vs ICS ... is best. It very much depends on your likes, dislikes, etc. I assume that you have a gsm device, so make sure to flash the appropriate roms, kernels, etc. Lastly, there is lots of help available, but it's always best if you dig in and bring yourself up to speed with what's already been posted in these great forums. Good luck!

thanks mate,
after few weeks i tested it, i find this phone a very good one and I don't feel the need to jump in a custom rom. I rooted it, installed a busybox and the clockwork and I added some apps to eliminate some gaps like the missing notification when the screen is off (I installed the noled apk for it) or like a switch off or switch on of the screen using the power button (I used an apps called accendi scermo and I switch on and off the screen using the phone sensor). The only thing that miss on this phone is an fm radio offline. I'm still searching a solution.
Stock rom: more stable, less features
Custom rom: less stable, more features
Well if you want to be normal. Than good for you.
Now a custom rom and kernel can give you unlimited privilages to things you can never imagine possible. Undervolting your device to give you brain blowing battery life or over clocking to give you awesome graphics.
A custom rom like CM9 or AOKP (there are way more than two but im just listing the popular ones) is of course better than stock since... well if it wasnt why would they make it. A kernel links your hardware to your software, meaning you can do some tweaking in the middle. If you find the right kernel and rom mix you can have a wopping 15 days standby on your battery (eg CM9 and Matr1x Kernel).
Now thats just the basics. if you are interested and want more information. Just do a bit of research and reading in this forum and ask questions in those forums. Hope this helps.
ics 4.0.4 stock+ simple or thalamus kernel
Or Bugless Beast with one of those kernels

You should try it out and see it for yourself. Different people have different opinion. My opinion Clean Rom and Clean kernel are the best. It's BUG free, extremely stable but yet give me excellent performance with excellent battery life, what else you could ask for??Also there is "dirty flash" where you can add-on bells and whistle (can request) which make it, the best. Other roms they have bugs which means you either keep flashing update or wait awhile before you can flash.

Looking for a specific rom

Well I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for as this is the first time i'll ever install a custom rom.
I'm mainly looking for Battery and Performance, don't really care for features, but they wouldn't hurt if skins were great.
I've chosen a kernel already, which will be Franco Kernel!
Due to it's features of battery saving.
Also another question I have is for things such as Nightly and Stable releases etc, do I need to do a clean wipe every time I wish to update versions of the rom?

well, generally, you arent allowed to post threads on xda asking about which rom(battery being the most requested). what is told to you is try out a few, decide which you like best, as we all have different needs and wants, and our devices all react differently. anyways, battery is not about rom or kernel(yes, you said you like franco for battery). battery life is nearly all about how you personally use your device, how you personally set it up, what apps you use, and very much the quality of your phone/data signal. everything else plays very little into it.
with every kernel someone will tell you that it gives the best battery life, someone will say it gives terrible battery life. there is no magic pill, it does not exist. i know you read about kernel so and so and its amazing battery life, but it is usually just fanboys spreading the use of the kernel.
anyways, if you are updating a rom, feel free to dirty flash it. no need to wipe.
