Initial Release​Known Issues:
- There is a delay of 3 seconds before it starts flashing selected color at the moment this a because the system will turn it off because it thinks its turning off the white led.​
Caveat
- The system will override the flashing if another system notification is set
- You will see a single white flash before the app flashes the correct color, this is the system doing this.​Todo:
- Add check for Nexus One​

suggestions; alternate colored notification bar icon colors (ie the ones found in Handcent), and later, i know its still only beta, email and gmail support if that would even be a possibility.
Besides those minor aesthetic opinions, it works like it says. Switch of notifications in chompsms, handcent or whatever you have including the stock app, set up the preferences in this one and it works brilliantly!

Works so far.
Im still unclear on the default icon in notification bar. Is it mandatory for it to appear there ?
Reason being I have handcent setup with different icons/sounds for individuals.
When a text comes in the trackball works fine but I get both the default messaging app Icon in notification bar AND handcent.
I tried turning off the default messaging but it pops up with trackball.

This is a great little app. Thanks. Do you have plans to enable it for email alerts as well?

I'm looking to implement this at a lower level than app, so we can get different notifications. Currently the system can override the trackball.
I'm open to icon/image donations (via pm please to keep the thread tidy) I'll give you credit if used.

Id much much prefer to get this working on Email /VM/Missed calls etc than worrying about aesthetics at this point.
Hace you contacted any of the rom guys to see if it can be dug into a deeper level and work in a fuller capacity ?

+1 on that- to be able to apply this across the whole rom would be fantastic.
this is awesome- i think it needs the ability to not have the icon show in status bar though due to some people (me being one) who use handcent personalised notifications.

I'm looking into that. The problem is the current codebase only has a method flashing the trackball white. We need to hook right into the core notification system.

I can add an option but i think you will end up with a situation where the trackball does not stop flashing. Because its my notification, when it get selected/acknowledged my Cancel "callback" method is actioned.

Hands down one of my favorite apps now. Thanks for making this. Its funny how the simple things are some of the best (colored blinking lights) lol.

the beta version is not working for me. the alpha version of trackball notification worked alright (with very few minor bugs). i turned off the notifications on messaging and popup sms and i get one white flash and nothing else. i turned off popup sms entirely and still got the same issue. im currently running cyanogen's beta4 if that matters.

Are you going to implement a way to flash different colors for different contacts SMSing you? If you do this i will definitely buy you a beer!

When I recieve texts now, my notification bar shows two of the smilie face text notifications and when i pull the bar down it shows the same texts twice. Only started after I installed this.

N5/4.4 feature lacking?!

I dont know but why do i keep feeling that the current N5/4.4 interface is still lacking many essential features?!
heres a quick list of things i have encountered user-unfriendly! and its not something hard to implement...?!
-stock eMail does not have SEARCH function...?!
it looks and feels almost exactly as gmail app but even gmail has a search icon on top..!
4.1-4.3 stock emaill all have search icon/feature too.. why not now?! WTFLOL
-why they didnt implement of swiping on the right hand corner to show settings notification page, rather have to use 2 finger swipe.
not a deal breaker, but 1 finger swiping left corner or right corner does seems to me more hassle free UI
-Notification Short Cut panel - can not add or delete new shortcuts..
this is really frustration now android up to 4.4 and still no such function..

With CM10 you can fully customize the tiles in the "profile" quick settings screen. You can also add a bunch of things that aren't on the screen (like specifically toggling GPS, flashlight, NFC).
Also... why the f can't you disable profiles in stock Android? I'm the only one using my phone!!
I was a little disappointed that "stock android" doesn't allow you to customize this; I have been spoiled by CyanogenMod.
Also! One that really bugs me! You can't change volume levels outside of the settings menu! Volume rocker only changes ringer volume, unless you're inside an app like YouTube. Even stock Touchwiz had THAT ability. :-\

one handed enhancements

I prefer android apps that use the lower portion of the screen more than the top, due to how I hold the phone. Also right side is better than left.
Finding the right app is very difficult due to 9/10 apps having most buttons on top. I keep wondering why you can't just move the toolbar control down to the bottom.... seems simple enough, Maybe there's a way to hack this? It should be simple enough to move the toolbar but if there's a dropdown menu, it gets more complicated. Maybe overlay configured to mirror another part of the screen, that would repeat taps to the original location....
Resizing the whole screen is one solution. There's Touchwiz for S5, OneHanded (Galaxy Note) and One-Hand Mode Xposed Mod which are pretty good but I just want to reach higher sometimes. A super quick way to enable/disable the screen sizer might work. Is there a gesture program that responds to gestures based on length of swipe and location? Maybe auto-return to full screen after 3s of inactivity? Is there something like this that will let you move the whole screen without resizing?
If you have found any great apps with bottom toolbars, please post links. Or if there's a good thread about this

The tool bar is called an ActionBar, moving the actionbar to the bottom is virtually impossible or as Google says a No No. We don't know why. But there is a split actionbar option, where you can add actions to the bottom of the screen.
You may be able to add actions to the bottom if you completely remove the actionbar (by using a theme that has no action bar) and then coding a fake one and merging it to the lower part of the layout.
Though you can't really do this to applications that have already been made unless you have the source code.
So I suggest. Get a smaller phone? Most large phones nowadays require two hand use.

Notification shade sync button missing, help! (and other tips)

S8+ on AT&T. Slightly annoyed I have no "Sync" button on the shade/button options.
My buddy has same phone with Sprint and he has the Sync button. Is it just me? I can't find a place that I could loose that (or get it back)!
Side/positive note: You can increase the grid size on the drop down:
Pull shade down fully
Top right 3 dot menu choose Button Grid
Three options: 3x3, 4x3, 5x3
Second good news (new to me):
They must have released a 3rd party API or something for devs to add a button to the notification area. When I was in the 'Button Order" area, I noticed my Podcast Addict app had an "Update" button. Fantastic!

The tile thing is a Nougat feature. If you're a fan of Tasker, there's all kinds of stuff you can do with it, as well as support by multiple other apps.

Finally had time to get this set up, definitely a pro tip and THANKS SO MUCH.
Here's the rub, the toggle for data sync is not 'Sync'. It just didn't work to add the name. I had my buddy do an export of his list and found it to be this:
custom(com.android.settings/com.samsung.android.settings.qstile.SecAccountTiles)
Adding this to my string (warning you have to re-import them all) gave me my Sync button

[APP] Jotter - The Most Practical Note Taking App

I really urge the xda users to try out this app because this is not like other conventional notepads. I have based the development of this app on my actual real life scenarios and I personally find it helpful at my workplace.
