Weird, but this morning I woke up to a non-functional calendar alert. No audible or vibe. Calendar still working fine otherwise, like it's in silent mode tho.All my other alerts, email etc. are as usual. I found my mobile shell had taken a total dump during the nite also. Could not access any shell screens or options. I somehow think this more than mere coincidence. I removed shell and soft reset. No change. I'll probably hard reset it back to factory sets maybe later. Tomorrow I've got a touch dual arriving, so that'll take my mind off the cruise for awhile. Comments anyone?
that's odd. I don't have an answer, but I do have a related question (not much help to you, cdbreze )
I was wondering if there was any way to limit the calender alerts to a single event and to stop alerts from turning on the screen. For example, if I am listening to music and the phone is in my pocket/bag and an alert goes off, it keeps beeping every 30s or so ad infinitum so that I actually have to get the phone out and 'dismiss' it. Worse, it turns on the touch screen, which means the phone starts dialing, deleting messages etc. Ideas?
notification queue's corrupt

...you can clean it with a number of tools available here. shouldn't need a hard reset.
I tried memmaid and set it to clean all that stuff out. Then it was suggested to me to try pocketmax alarm which I liked alot and am still running it as I like it's features. It didn`t help tho. Then I was beginning to lean toward a hard reset when I plugged it into my laptop via usb as the batt was pretty low. It always auto syncs even tho everything is already synced wirelessly. And...Viola! it starts working perfectly again. The usb sync did it. All is well again.
@fatgymteacher..For my calendar alerts I have the box checked to repeat as I want to make sure I get the alert. I don`t know about not having the screen lite up , a reg edit perhaps. But for the other if you go to start menu > settings > sounds > notifications there is a box for a repeat option. Find reminders then see if it's checked to repeat.
doh! i should have seen that. I swear I hunted around for hours trying to find that damn 'repeat' option. Thx!
..still lost
...well...i'm still with no alerts or calendar. my life is a mess.
one night my prophet had something , and when it woke up was in year 23xxx, from then i just cant put my calendar alerts...allerting. even with usb sync, hard reset. nothing. i'm searching for wm6 rom upgrading, anyone think this is going to correct?
contact manager link to calendar
Hello,
I own a TC, running a WM6.1 ROM and supposedly, the Contact manager sould link the Birthday field of a contact with the Calendar, so that whenever you enter someone's details, you needn't repeat the same action in the Calendar. Filling in the Birthaday field of an Outlook contact doesn't seem to trigger any reaction of the Calendar application, or any, for that matter..
Can somebody help me restore this link/function?
thank you.

So I know this is a known bug from what other threads have said. In my case I don't even need to use the slider, but guranteed my phone sounds will all stop working at least once a day, even the vibrate does not work.
Soft reset solves the problem till the next time.
Should I consider reporting and getting my unit changed ?
I am testing one thing right now, normally I have my pushmail running 24x7, I think this might be the cause somehow. It's not direct push, its Oracle Pushmail plugin with works with pocket outlook.
Is this normal ?
Voicecommand is the problem, disable it and you will never have that problem again!
ok I will try this out and get back
that did not work, i disabled and left push email running overnight and sure enough in the morning the sounds no longer worked.
Tonight I will turn push mail off and see what happens I am pretty sure the sound will work in this case.
i had this issue earlier this week and i've seen numerous threads about other having the same issue. NO true, duplicated scenario or solution has been found (or i haven't seen one). After several soft resets i had to do a hard reset and reinstall everything. That was the only way i got the sound back.
so in your case are you saying a soft reset did not bring the sound back ?
in my case soft reset always brings the sound back.
I have kept my email turned off and so far no problems with the sound, I think mine has got something to do with oracle pusmail plugin, which is a real pain as I need that.
Unless this occurs in a clean device [no installed 3rd party apps] it might be a software issue. Maybe you should try and weed out the offensive app/s?
So I know which app causes it, for me its the oracle pushmail plugin for outlook that we get from work, but I can't really remove this, after all this is the reason I have this device :-(
When you lose the sound on your device does the camera also die at the same time?
Will have to check that out next time. I have had the camera go a few times, needed to soft reset. Next time the sound goes I will check the camera and report back.
Camera was ok when the sound went.
Are you SURE you have voicecommand COMPLETELY disabled? (NO checkmarks on NO options AND!!!! NO SHORTCUT TO VOICECOMMAND ON ANY BUTTON)?
Regards,
Ingo
Will have to try again, today I noticed the voice command was enabled, very weird I never set it on.
Will see how it goes this time.
OF COURSE!
The sound goes away.... it also came back once, without softresetting. I am not sure the VC is directly connected to this... I spent a good amount of $$$ to buy this phone for my wife, on the wave that she loved the 650... but what a bad idea!! Is something going to be done in order to fix all these bugs? By the way, my 750 is unlocked, but I guess it doesn't make any difference, or does it? Thank you guys, Paul.
If I checked TTY/TTN in phone options, all phone sound ceased. Uncheck and its back. Nothing in Help about this feature - what is it?

the innocent Treo...the silence of the Treo...
Waht is it? It is a shame!!! After almost one year that this model is out, still no fix for the problem! I spent $600.00 for this phone...it is really a shame.

Funny - same here. She loved her TX, I bought her the 750.
Ringer gone. Comment "Isn't ringing a basic feature of a phone honey?"
Just had to hard-reset, all others failed.
Not nice.
Same story here. She loved the 650, it got to the end of its life, so I bought her the new 750. Even worse, it doesn't even vibrate for her....lol...
Silent 750
Seems that a lot bought the 750 for the wife.
Even more reason to get the sound issue fixed
Any news yet on this - any word from Palm?
Every day i have to reboot my phone, even when i receive a call the phone don't vibrate.
Is there any mortscript that screen on screen off the phone when you receive a screen ?
Hello @ all,
I have often problems with reminders, too, as posted by others before. When phone is resetted, the reminders drive me to hell. I tried check notification, but I am not able to get this again workin normal...
Check notification seems not to work properly, or probably I am doing something wrong... When I hit in the options delete duplicate reminders, nothing happens. When I then hit "clear", all my reminders are deleted...
But now, I have another issue: Reminders are not stoppable because there does not appear the info where i can dismiss it...
It's very poor for MS, that this problem exists since OS 2003 and seems to be still in WM6...
Hope that someon has some hitns for me...
the best solution is memmaid (www.dinarsoft.com), but it's not free
Hi zoki!
Thanks for your answer. That too is new to me... I'll give it a try, there's a 15 das limited trial available...

I'll second Memmaid. This tool is great for cleaning stuff up (bad notifications, bad links, etc).
I installed it and had a look on it...
In the notification queue I see hundreds of reminders. Its OK, I am using my calendar very intensive...
So, I searched for duplicated items (is that really the problem for my issue?!). Found two, deleted them, restarted my nice phone, and again: my phone reminds me for i dont know, 5 to 10 notifications at one time. sounds nice, when two rings are ringing at one time but it nerves...
what can I do to solve my probelm with this tool?!
so, I have many items there:
calendar.exe
clock.exe (more than three!). I think that there's the problem?! I would say only three should be there...?!
for following items i have no clue what they are,...
tmail.exe
calupd.exe
sqmevent.exe
enrollnot.exe
\\.\Notifications\NamedEvents\SCRIPT:0x0
clocknot.exe
repllog.exe
calnot.exe
Reminders problem
OK, I don't use reminders, but try this: Turn off notifications before resetting your device. I don't remember if there is a setting in the calendar program for this, as I use pocket informant, but probably there is. Then, after resetting, turn them back on. This might at least stop it reminding you about past events. If this doesn't work, you can try turning them off in the "Sounds and Notifications" program in the Settings folder. Then turn them back on after resetting.
Good luck,
I don't think this will solve dbsoundz's problems. I had the same thing yesterday morning, my alarm woke me up on the normal programmed time, but there's no button to dismiss it. Even switching of the alarm doesn't work, it keeps up going. Only by hard-reset I was able to solve this.
Thanks for discussion...
what have I done: I deleted all the items with "clock.exe". After that, my phone was not again ringing wild on phone startup . So far so good.
But:
the problem with the missing notification of reminders still exists
hm... it still rings once on startup. but the ringtone is another then edited in the sound settings under "reminders"... but thank god, no ringing orchestra any more... and still w/o "dismiss"-notification
It sounds to me like a time zone problem! Try going to a different time zone let it chnage and then wait a couple of secs and chnage back!
Hi funman,
thanks for your reply.
I tried your suggestion. but it didn't help. Same problems as before. I was also sceptical about that, because I don't think that there's the problem. As described, the phone makes still a ring orchestra at start up and the reminders are totally different from settings in the sounds/notification settings... very strange. And there's still no notification baloon where I could "dismiss" it...
Grrr...this is not the same ol' missing reminder problem. at this point, i almost WISH i had that problem.
issue #1 (ongoing) - how do i disable the repeating calendar reminders? the phone chirps and chirps and chirps every 20-30 seconds until i press dismiss. i could have sworn i found a reg key on WM 6.0 that disabled this, but i came up empty when searching again today.
and now issue #2 which i ran into today. with the phone on VIBRATE because i was going someplace important for a meeting, the calendar reminders are still $^#&@*@$#$ audible!! WTF!! reminder and notification are both set to vibrate in the profile, with a volume of zero. then why the $^%#@* are they still being played??
if anyone can help, you'll save my sanity...or at least save my Blackjack from being hurled into traffic.
The first one is just what windows does... I've never been bothered to disable it though...
The second one I've never had. Couple of things to try:
soft reset
hard reset
reflash of ROM
Failing all of those, I know someone that would happily let there pockets get in the way of your blackjacks trip to the road!
My FUZE, running stock ATT rom with advanced config using the suggested settings for advanced config, other than that, all stock.
My send/dial/answer and enter (center circle) lights are flashing about 5-6 times a second then pausing for 10 seconds or so.
I've checked my email, I don't have any SMS, nobody uses MMS that I know, it just keeps on keeping on.
WHat really obvious thing am I missing?
I suppose in the scheme of things, it doesn't really matter, I think I'm going to install NATF's rom here pretty quick, but I want to get a full week under my belt before I thrash it.
Idk either man. This happened a lot for me too on the stock rom. IT seems to happen when someone calls you, but hangs up before it rings, thus ur phone gets the signal of the call, and thinks you have a missed call, but you really don't. So a soft-reset should fix that. Or flash a better radio.

Go into your email inbox then swipe sideways to reveal the Outook email and just check that it doesn't have the tips and tricks email sitting there. If you arent actually using the Outlook account it doesnt display in touch flo but its still there with its welcome email if you configure activesync. Good luck. Cheers.
It also flashes when receiving new articles from RSS feeds...

Bought a Droid Maxx today and I'm loving it except for one problem -- the Active Notifications are not working properly. It does display the time and the swipe down to unlock, but that's it. I currently have unread gmails, a missed call, and missed texts, but nothing. I verified that it's turned on in the settings and that the appropriate apps are selected. "Sleep at night" is not checked. I tried googling for an answer but I seem to be the only person in the world with this issue. Any ideas? I'm at the end of my rope. Since there's no notification light on this phone it's kind of a deal breaker. Also tried a Factory Data Reset, did not help.

If you've unlocked the phone already they won't show up as active notifications. So if your phone was unlocked, you got an email, locked it, it won't show up as an active notification even if the email is still unread. Or if you heard the phone go off for an email or something, unlock it to see you have a new email, then relock it, it won't show up even if the email is still unread. I don't know if that helps, otherwise I have no idea why it wouldn't be working
I was getting ready to take the phone to Verizon today to exchange it, and I asked my wife to call it again just so I'd have a missed call to show them (the FDR wiped out the first one). Guess what, on comes the Active Notification! Then I had her message me and it worked for that as well. So suddenly it works. Guess I'll keep an eye on it for now just to make sure it's working consistently, but it looks like the problem may be solved.
