Network is locked. Please input unlock code. - HTC Vox

Hi there.
Ive flashed my Orange E650 with the Gonzo WM6.1 rom and its been 1000% successful from what I can tell.
However when I put my Vodafone SIM in it tells me
Network is locked. Please input unlock code.

Is there anyway to get around this without paying one of the websites to give you an unlock code? I have googled and searched these forums pretty extensively to no success.

try asking vodafone customer service and ask what is it. If you put ur sim in another phone it is the same?

Why would I ask Vodafone? :/

Ask Orange

its a brand new phone, wont they just tell me to piss off?

If your phone was SIM locked to orange before you flashed it, It will still be SIM locked after you flashed it.
Updating the OS does not remove the SIM lock.

Why would I want to do that? The Orange SIM will work fine in it, but I want to use my Vodafone SIM.

The phone is locked by Orange so your Vodafone sim wont work in it, untill you simunlock the phone, to do so you will have to pay ( there is no free utility for VOX at the moment )
To SimUnlock VOX see this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355790

That is not true..
SPV-Services can do the trick for you..
You can find SPV-Services here.. :
http://www.spv-developers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=236
Try it out.. When i got my vox it was locked too AND application locked.. So i flashed a rom that was application unlocket and ran the SPV Services program to get rid of my sim lock.. You just have to be quick as the phone will ask you if you trust the provider of the software you are about to install, answer yes, but you won't have a lot of time, ofcouse you can just try it again.

SIM unlock using SPV-Services and app unlocked rom?

Everything else posted on the subject says SPV-Services doesn't work with the Vox/wm6. What rom did you use?

Orange UK can provide the unlockcode. Just call their customer service, I think they charge 20 pounds which is reasonable.

Did you try inserting "a SIM card not attached to your current provider (e.g if you have T-mob use an ATT SIM CARD) and turn on your phone?" (credit sanfranx415 post) edit: maybe try a different gsm carrier in the same country you reside.
From what I have read and understand different versions of busybox will work or are compatible for different things (maybe somebody will tell me if that is not accurate).
Here is a video that might help.
Good luck!
Try contacting t mobile and tell them your going overseas for a few months and want to take your phone with you and is there a way to unlock it so it can be used in another country.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
When you insert the sim card and power up the phone, as you unlock it it should give you a network lock screen that only lets you use the phone after inputting the unlock code.

It is wery common trouble for many of us
You are just using the phone that is sim locked by the operator
Good news is that there is an easy fix for your problem- you have to unlock it
The sim unlocking procedure is been performed by most of the mobile service centers,
You may use google to search for sites that can remotely unlock your device

There are several tipes of 'locks' we users are forced to fight with:
- locked bootloader- not allowing us to flash any custom system to our phone
, this is suposed to save inexpearienced or to quick a user from bricking their devices...
- sim lock- by this procedure your mobile provider wants to make sure you will not be using the phone-
THEY gave you on contract, with another provider's sim card...
Sim lock is a very common policy among mobile carriers but you can remove it quite easily
, without any side effects

Noob here, need help with carrier locked phone!

Hello,
I really searched the forums and found nothing that could help me. I've got a Galaxy S6 G920F and is carrier locked. "INVALID SIM CARD
NETWORK LOCKED SIM CARD INSERTED". I don't want to play for the unlock unless I really have to. I also would want to avoit rooting/tripping knox if possible.
My question is: can a carrier unlock be done free? If I flash another stock rom over the one I have right now, could that unlock it? I have a orange rom, modded by orange with bloathware and stuff.
Thanks!
as long as your sim is activated, i would definitely try flashing the stock rom via odin. that shouldn't trip knox, also you have a clean rom. garanty may be gone after that.

My sim card is activated and working in my S5, so the sim is not the problem. I will flash another stock rom and get back with a reply. Thank you!
Nope. Flasing another stock rom with odin does not help. Same problem
where did you buy the phone from ?
It sounds like the phone is locked to another provider.
If it is a used phone, then I suggest you contact your provider and give them the imei, to inquire about the status of the phone.

Just in case: If you bought the phone off contract they have to unlock it for free. If not,a unlocking code should be like 10-20$.
This wont void your warranty or anything like that so don't worry.

If your phone is locked to a specific network, which means when you put a sim card from another network operator, it will ask you for unlock code..
.. then No, flashing another rom will not unlock your phone. Even rooting it, will not unlock it. The only way I know to unlock it, is by putting a network unlock code, which you have to pay for
or ask your network provider to do it for you
