It looks very good, but if it is like Hikey's rom then it is not much of use to me i prefer english only rom.
Hopefully we will see some feedback on this rom. How is battery life with this rom.???
Hi skchattha, back again after a long gap. Where did you get this from ? You are a fan of chinese ROMs like me. They are pretty fast stable and smooth.
From screenshots I fnd that storage is only 34+ mb (a good 15mb less than all std ROMs) and RAM is 15+ mb (Which is also 5-6 mb less). Are the screenshots with some applications installed / running or they are just after installing the ROM ?
What about texting - Is it plumsip or normal xT9 ?
Anyway, I am downloading the ROM anyway and will install it in my free time and let you know the results.
@tipu2185
The other day I read that your battery lasts for 3 days with fireburned ROM (clean 1.1). How do you get that ? Can you give us a little hint of your usage pattern. I am onto the same ROM and I surf around 60-120 minutes everyday besides normal calling and SMS. My battery only lasts 15 to 18 hours. I was on radio version 4.1.13.60. I have downgraded to 4.1.13.54. I have plans to test 4.1.13.47 also. Since you are on this radio what is your opinion about this Radio ROM ?
skchattha, I am very sad. You have posted a great ROM (storage is 51+ mb and RAM is almost 20mb), very fast, stable and lots of customised apps but after setting language to US English and locale to Englsih (UK) a lot of them are still in chinese. There is no problem in using the phone and surfing /texting etc but we will not be able to take advantages of this wonderful ROM as many things are still in chinese. In fact there is a menu in setting (in chinese) which has many submenus which I have not found in any of the ROMs. I was trying to paste some thumbnails for everybody to see but I don't have a screenshot installed right now. (I would request you to paste some screenshots of submenus available in special menu under serial no 9 in second page of settings just below device name).
Lastly I would tell everyone to install this ROM experimentally at least once and experience the faster interface.
now lets see who Mods this ROM to english...
how is the battery life as compared to other Rose ROM's ?
And more importantly:
who is going to make a Dutch version of this Rom?

STK service as far as I know is the Sim ToolKit service...that is something related to your Operator's SIM menĂ¹. If I'm not wrong.
I think I've found V3 here http://translate.google.com/transla...7&extra=&page=1&hl=it&ie=UTF-8&sl=zh-CN&tl=en

Yes, its is chinese same as of Hikey but much more stable and fast. You will need some changes to get it in English mostly.
Battery consumption is normal.
I always had issues in battery meter in other ROMS like if its 16% at this time, if you will reboot phone, it might come out showing 50% or more, anything random !!!

Well I dont use phone that much. I mean I have my laptop with me all the time and WLan is available every where so i use laptop for surfing. 3 days is the time with 4-5 calls a day with few same amount of sms per day. I think you should shift to this radio it is better.
Hoping for feedback on this rom is it worth changing?

It has plumsip as usual of chinese ROMs.

I totally disagree, never got 3 days battery last in any ROM. with applications i need (30-40) it lasts for upto 24 hrs max. or 15-18 hrs normally.
I have tested all Radios and result is same.

Dont be sad , these are small issues, only labels in chinese for most of applications, using resco explorer, change them to english.
if any application is in chinese natively, delete its forlder and install ur english version, thats it, ist't it simple?
I am using it and 99% it is in english now.

Choosing the right ROM

Well I'm sad to say but all the ROMs I have tried in the past couple of weeks haven't worked for me...
The story of my ROMs experimentation starts with T-Mobile Vario III and T-Mobile customized ROM. In short, like a worst nightmare! New version of T-Mobile customized ROM, nothing happened, everything was exactly same as with previous version.
Then I finally decided to try couple of WM 6.5 ROMs which worked like a charm but WM 6.5 is beta and half of the stuff in it is unfinished... Back to 6.1...
Than: HyperDragon (a few variants), shifu, Paradox, AthineOS, TPCExtreme, Ultimate-X... Mostly SuperRam ROMs... Hundred of pages in topics, dozens of fixes, black screens, restarts and so on... Applications that I don't need, folders confusingly organized, startup and bootup screens that don't fit to one business phone, black background icons (what's wrong with WM icons with transparent background) and so on...
Currently using stock HTC ROM and it works. It is sluggish but my device doesn't restart and I don't have to install at least 5 programs or fixes to make him work...
My question: Can someone point me to ROM that works without reading through 100 pages of topics and installing fixes for stuff that should work like notification and volume control? I use my Kasier as a business phone and primary e-mail reading device and I can't afford for my Kaiser to be offline for couple of hours (not to mention a day) and don't have time to read thousands of posts of "how-to-fix".
What do I need? Messaging (SMS and e-mail with notifications working), Opera, iGO, working Volume control, Bluetooth and jog wheel to be able to quickly quite my device if in a meeting or to change the volume of speaker when in a call.
I don't mean to disrespect all the chef's around and I do appreciate your work because for most of people around here you make their Kaisers work the way they should work!

If you want you machine to work right off the rip I would stay with a stock rom. while all the roms here are great unforseen prob do come up. While the cooks try to help fix it they do it for fun and have other matters to attend to.

I totally agree...
Anyway, if you look at the way PDACorner organized his post, you'll see that on post #2, there is a list of known bug with links to all fixes... This is really a way of organizing things that I personnally like very much and can save you from reading 1000s of posts for getting the info...
Flashing is for those of us who want to make our phones perfect, the best Apps, the best speed, the very best function and style. We don't mind a little work to or reading to get them " exactly " the way we want it.
I have worked at getting My phone perfect ( also a business phone ) and it is. None of the problems that you seem to think are inherent in every cooked rom.
You sound to me like the stock rom type not the cooked rom type. Do it HTC's way and stick with the stock rom.
There is a huge difference between stock roms and cooked roms. Stock roms are meant to work flawlessly, without bugs and without too many additional software. The default configuration will work, will (most likely) not crash, but won't do anything fancy either. It might also be slow at times.
Cooked roms are made for those who would like to experiment. People who don't mind a crash now or then, and don't mind to reflash every day/week/month (tick the one that applies ).
If i would use my phone for business purposes i would probably stay with the stock ROM or flash a stable 6.1 ROM, like PDACorner's.
Nevertheless there is no such thing as a perfect ROM. Every ROM has it's advantages as well as disadvantages. Live with it; Windows Mobile just isn't a perfect mobile OS, while doubting the fact any OS can be...
I switch ROM's on a regulary basis. Basic functions always work, no matter the ROM. I flash because additional features work better/faster/more stable on certain ROM's than others. But this requires some of your time, to flash and set everything up again.
The fun is that all of this is up to you. If you like to experiment, then flash as much as you like until you find something you like. There will always be certain flaws where you will have to live with.
There is no such thing as perfect ROM! Always remember to keep flashing and keep reading!

What stock rom were you using
Do you also think that Vista is flawless and without bugs

Read, my friend. I said they are meant to work without bugs and work flawlessly in a default configuration. You won't hear me say that they always do.
Nevertheless the stock ROM will in most cases do sort of everything the way it is meant to be. The change of finding broken application links or errors from mortscript i.e., is pretty small, if not none. And if these errors do appear, you've obviously bought a phone of bad quality.
This said, i'm not using a stock ROM myself. In that case i wouldn't reply to this topic. I'm someone, just like the rest here i suppose, who likes to switch to the newest, even though the quality might be worse then what i've had. But i'm always in for something new, which you might not be if you're using you phone for business purposes and do very much rely on the call quality, for example.
It's simple really either you stick to stocks or you become a flasher @ which point you will flash untill you find that ROM that you know can be used every day and still carry on flashin to try find a new better ROM if you don't like or got bugz you flash back to your every day ROM......
If it all seems tooo much and your a person who can't problem solve "read" and also put in the time to set up device as you wish then a stock is best bet.
Goverment Health Warning:
After flashing you may suffer from Flashers OCD!!!

Then you have one last choice in picking up a kitchen and learning to cook your own rom, but above warning still applies.
yes
As it has been said, rom flashing is personal preference, please find the perfect one for you whether it is a oem or custom rom through searching and flashing.

Peace,

A nice experience with froyo

Afters 2 monthes on windows 6.1 and 6.5 , i finallly came back to the excellent android, windows is so boring
I had give up because of bad development cycle with .32 kernel and a lack of news on polaris android forum and the abandon of martin
So I downloaded atools, compiled the last .32 kernel and installed
HTML:
Thoughtlesskyle's Not So Super Froyo [RLS18] [12/4/2010] Who Invited This Guy!
both on nand and of course the last but not least update.tgz for polaris
The first impression was very very good : everything was well sized, smart and faster than fast, wifi and bluetooth did work
After my first installation, i went to the market and i did a mass update of stock application : that was my first mistake (maybe because of odexed stuff... i 've never understood this that's a shame) - everything went corrupted after this point until a big crash of the phone
So i did a second attempt and after two days with this configuration, i've a very good feeling, good stability and not so bad battery life after having installed "Data on demand" from the market
The most important point has ever be the battery life for me (not this fuc$''(ng camera - kids !!) and i've noticed that sleeping state is very odd for month, sometime the phone is entering sleeping state, sometime not and this must be battery hungry
my radio is 1.45.xx.xx
Some credits : i want to thank all the historical from HTC and the upcoming Liquid who do so much hard work replacing marginz if i've all understood
I wish i had the skill to help the community but i know my limit, everything that i can advise you is to work on battery life
Liquid : what is the problem with battery life exactly ? is there a way to work on sleeping state ? on windows my phone could handle 4 or 5 days without recharging... i know this have been asked so many times
I agree with you...
Hi,
Yes, I totally agree with you. I tried the first versions of cyanogene and after versions of thoughtlesskyle (fat froyo).
I admit that this is the most stable version ever tested.
Many thanks also to all those who have advanced Android for us.
I use my phone for business reasons but I always want to test the latest versions but there, I stop for the version of thoughtlesskyle as it works perfectly.
Thanks to all Polaris users
Cheers.
My phone is also running on Thoughtlesskyle's Not So Super Froyo [RLS18], and so far it is the best release I've ever tried.
Big thanks to l1q1d, who helped me with to switch from WM6.5 to Android. Tools and threads are always updated and support is both fast and relevant.
Thank you guys.
The problem with battery is due to several fatctors:
Radio firmware is not designed for android so it doesn't handle connection correctly
The sleep mode is not handle correctly by the firmware so the sleep mode is only a low consumpition mode
The battery calculation alghoritm is not perfect and there is no information on windows alghoritmation
good explanation liquid
Do you think there's a chance for you or another to ameliorate the situation ?
... and gingerbread is coming

what can we excpect from this ???

Did someone try gingerbread on polaris ?
I'm a little bit anxious about performance on our devoted device
I'm now trying Thoughtlesskyle's with data on sd, i have read that it can improve sd card bug and data loss on reboot; The fact is that i'm not convinced by system speed with such an installation
I'm not really sure system is well installed since i've read that you need a special rom to install on fat32/etx2/ext2
we can find everything and it's contrary on xda forum, that's annoyin and androidon htc site need to be improved
First experience yesterday :
- easy to install but I use with Haret
- fast and like the Nexus S... Hum...
- But a lot of problems : wifi ok but impossible to connect by authentication, impossible to access to date/time parameters, ... And when I reboot, impossible to get Android ! Just a lot of messages and that's all I've to reinstall again...)
I think we have to wait for a new kernel with this new build
I return to my Froyo by thoughtlesskyle
Cheers.

I going mad with my Touch Cruise. I just crashed it on the wall and I'm quite surprise it is still working...
I am experiencing lots of issues. It's so slow that the phone freezes from time to time. Even after rebooting, applications are crashing... because Android says that the SD card is missing (I moved most of the apps using app2sd).
I feel desperate because Android seemed to be a great OS, but not on a Touch Cruise.
I will try to chillout, and wait for new kernel releases and setups...

this setup is amazing and very stable, none can't beat it for the moment
The app2sd technique is maybe at the origine of your problems, try with update3 and tell us if it's work
Thanks, I'll give it a go.

Hi everybody, I want to share what I 'm experiencing since last week. I made a BSE ( EDIT: using 1.0.6 atool ) flagging advanced mode then install system, fix permissions and clear dalvik cache and location system auto as well as data. In nbh editor I setted last L1q1d .32 fstab on auto. I have installed not so super rls 18...
Now in andboot I have a system.img and a data.img and here is my result : I have never had a reboot, no data loss and also I can turn off the phone without problem on reboot. I only must wait about 2/3 minutes before all is ready.
maybe L1q1d can explain what I have done?
I have a mirco sd class 6
P&L
It's quite interesting.
The answer is: you install both system and data on file on sd, the sd is quite fast so you can use it.

[Q] Playing on rooted phone with Cyanogenmod Jelly Bean ROM, 100 Doors question

As stated in the topic, my phone is rooted and I am using Cyanogenmod Jelly Bean. I recently downloaded the game "100 Doors 2013" and EVERY time I play the game my phone crashes. I'm sorry if this is a kind of impossible to answer question but I'd like to see if anyone else has had this same problem and what could be causing it. For those of you who have played the game, you should know how simple of a game it is and thus I highly doubt the game is too big/resourceful for a powerful phone like the S3 to handle. RIGHT when it crashes it goes to the cyanogenmod screen with the blue spinning circle and then boots up again to my lock screen. I usually can't beat more than a full level at the most without it crashing. If someone could help me figure out what's going on with this I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
Run this script
It seems the app is force restarting your phone. The Cyanogenmod logo you see is the boot animation.
This script will create a logcat (debug log) and save it out right before the system restarts. Someone may be able to decipher that for further information.
hello there and sorry to hear about ur problem i hav tested the game on a rom or two and had no issuses with it the best advice i can give u is to talk to the cook of the rom ur using meaning u hav to ask the guys on that roms page, we can all try and help u but understand u hav a custom rom that sum people use but not others like myself i hope that i was helpful as much as possible, also try to wipe ur phone to the way is was after u put the new rom on without adding any other apps then add ur game and test the game before u install ur other apps if it works then u know that one of the apps u hav added is giving u the problem

[Q] single rom for multiple devices

guys i was thinking recently that all apps in android are modular i.e. they manage to fit themselves in any phone of different resolution or configuration, the same version of a particular app runs fine even on a low budget phone as well as a high end phone and sometimes even on tablet.the roms are comprised of many such apps ,android is modular and everything even lockscreen and settings are apps.
My point is if a single rom can be made which will be compatible with maximum number of mobiles . i do realise that there may be a few problems with wifi, bluetooth and maybe camera .but the first step is to get the rom booting.and of course kernels will have to be different for different devices, and maybe the problems with wifi can be solved by flashing kernel specific modules.
if this concept is feasible then the effort of porting roms and uploading them will be negligible .
if you think that this concept is new and innovative please reply and hit the thanks button
