Hello all,
I've installed Tomtom on my TC and got the option to download a free map. Now, I have a TomTom One Western Europe Edition with the map of .. Western Europe
I copied the map into my microSD, folder is named "Western_Europe". Is there any way to "bind" TomTom Navogator to this map, because when I start it, it says that there are no maps on the device.
I'm very greatfull for any help or links with Howto's.
Stealth Edit: I've read that the map should be installed/activated through TomTom Home. But how do I make the software detect my device? Only ActiveSync ist being started when I connect TC to my PC, TomTom Home doesn't recognise the device.
I have just managed to install Navigator on my device. It was a little frustrating but it does work eventually.
Install home on your machine, then you need to put the SD card into a card reader and attach to the PC. Can't do it with the device connected to the PC
You probably then need to choose device, then change device and change target device to pocket pc.
This will change the device on your TomTom account. Then click on install to tom tom and click ctrl-f8 or cmd-f8 on a mac.
I think that will do it.
Ian
That's all nice and dandy, but when I put the microSD in the card reader TomTom Home doesn't recognize anything. My PC sees the memory card as device, but Home is stuck in "Please connect your device to the PC" no matter what option I choose
Edit: Ok, I've downloaded the Pocket PC Home version and now my TC is recognized. My problem is that I can't get the map to work with the Navigator. The Navigator says "no map", TomTom Home doesn't "see" the map in its folder too.

Hi All,
I am new to the O2 Mini world and the Pocket PC.
I just received my O2 Mini today in the mail and really like it!
I just have a few questions:
1) In the instruction booklet it saids you can turn off the "PHONE" by pressing the off button more than 2 seconds. However I tried and couldn't. What is the way to actually shut of the phone?
2) SD Card. Just wondering in Pocket PC can you actually use the SD card as a HArddrive? ie. I want to install applications to the Pocket PC but as the Mini size is not that big I want to install the application to the SD card? IS it possible?
3) Is it possible to use Activesync via Bluetooth
4) As the O2 Mini does not have Wifi, is it possible to use the Bluetooth to connect back to my Laptop (Wifi Enabled) and then connect to the Internet??
5) What is Advantgo?
6) How does Pocket PC application work? DO you have to install on the laptop/desktop first and the use the Activesync function? Can you install straight away in the Pocket PC?
7) Is there a Chinese Charater reader/writer available for the O2Mini or I must reinstall the ROM with the Chinese O/S?
Many Thanks for your help!
1 click the signal icon choose fligthmode and it's off
2 yes but sd cards are very slow compared to internal ram so some applications act up if places on it, aslo a sd card have a limited nr of writes before it dies much like cd-rw media
3 yes
4 when your xda is connected to activesync on the laptop then it have acccess to the same network as the laptop have unless you limit it's access
5 some offline browsing pushing thingy you can read about it in help on your xda
6 cab file installs need to be sync'd to the xda and then run (installed)
some exe files are windows exe files and need to be run from the pc and then it autoinstall using activesync
some exe files are CE nativ files and need to be run on the pda
it really depend on the application

HELP HELP HELP!!!
I have a I-Mate Pocket PC Phone Edition imaged with the ShekharAKU3.5b.R40.P24_public WM5 ROM. I also have a 4GB SD card, Nokia BH-501 Stereo Headset and a Bluetooth GPS receiver. It all works great and helps combine all the devices I have. The software I've installed on top of the ROM - which isn't much;
Tomtom 6 with Australia and North America Maps
Flv plugin for TCPMP
A2DP Registy hack for better Blue tooth Sound
Skype for Pocket PC
Google Maps
Problem 1) Tomtom Navigator - When opening Tomtom 6 sometimes it cannot find the maps which are on the 4GB SD Card. The only way to get it to work is to remove the SD card. Reboot the PDA and then insert the card before opening Tomtom. I think this may have something to do with the RAMdrive in the ROM. I have checked the registry to see if there is any entries specific to the map so I can specifically mention the maps being on the "Storage Card" but cant find anything. Any one else experiencing this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it? I googled it and found - http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-navigator-registry-hack.php
Problem 2) T-Mobile Settings - I have set my GPRS settings to wap.voicestream.com. I can make and receive calls, although being in Australia at the moment its very expensive, I can even surf the net. I want to load Blackberry connect, which I have, and use my PDA as an all-in-one unit rather then separate devices. It will save me carrying 4 devices and having 4 different chargers.
When I load Blackberry connect, I can't establish a secure connection to blackberry.net. It tries and then disconnects. Still no luck. Any ideas on this too??
If anyone could help I would be so greatful its driving me nuts wiping it everytime I make a mistake.
The first week I had my fuze i connected it to my cmputer multiple times. I connnected through active sync and through the memory card in my phone now when in plug it in on the same computer all it does is charge it doesnt show anything is connected or even attempting to connect. I reinstalled activesync, turned off firewall both didnt work. I prefer not to hard reset but if thats what it takes.... Any Ideas?
Partnership
I think I have had this problem before, you may want to try deleting the Activesync partnership from both the phone and the computer, then set it up again.
Good luck
if i delete activsync from the phone how do i reinstall it?
Noooooo
I didn't mean delete the actual Activesync application, just the partnership with the computer.
select manually from settings-connections-usb activesync and then connect wire, then disconnect and set it to storage and connect wire again. The point is to change the purpose of the usb manually between physical connections
i cant use my sd card

Hello!
I've been trying to connect my F1 to TomTom Home so I could updape my maps, but it won't recognize my device.
It hapened to anyone?
Thank you!
If the situation is anything like the F900 I used to have, it's because the S200 is not recognised as a compatible device by TomTom. Ridiculous, considering how well the software actually runs on the device, but there it is. You will have to resort to *ahem* "alternative" methods to update any maps you have on it.
Thank you for Posting back to Me!
I've not played with the Acer but you may need to connect in disk drive mode instead of normal sync and then start TOMTOM home.
So Can Someone Walk Me Thru The Steps To Install
Co0kie's Home Tab v1.7.1
To My Phone...I Connect The Phone And Am Lost From There So Please Go Into Detail =(
I do not think you can connect a windows phone to a Mac computer. They are not compatible.
What you can do instead is -
1.download the cookiehometab.cab file on your computer,
2.then send yourself an email that is linked to your phone and attach the .cab file.
3.dowload the attachment on your phone and then run it to install it.
That should be all you have to do.
re
You can download the apps to your computer, they will just be unrecognizable. Transfer them to your SD card through USB or Bluetooth, and then search it on your phone. This worked well for me. Quicker then DL them strait from your phone!
theres a software called "missing sync" for mac's. try searching for a torrent or unless you want to buy the program. but it works better than activesync in my opinion.
Moved as not software release.
I'm using a macbook to connect to my hd2 most of the time. No problems connecting at all.
Connect USB cable and connect as disk drive on HD2, Macbook sees hd2 sd card as disk drive. Just access the drive on your mac and transfer the file(s) to hd2 storage card.
Or, if you have set up a bluetooth connection between the mac and the hd2, use the mac's "sent file" option in the bluetooth menu.
After you get the file to your HD2 you can use the original installation instructions again.
The syncmate program works great for syncing your contacts etc. But had some trouble getting it to work through bluetooth. I use the USB for that. But than the phone has to be set to active sync mode.
(love my macbook pro, but hated the iphone hype and the restrictions hence the HD2)
