releasing a rom. - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

whats up all? I just had a question in regards to sharing a rom in this forum. I just finished cooking my own WM6.1 rom and i would like to post it here for all to share. What would be the best way of packaging the nk.nbf file so that i can post it on here. I would greatly appreciate any input especially from all the cooks that have already posted there own roms. Thanks in advance and hopefully i'll have my version of WM6.1 on here pretty soon

NICE TODAY LOOK!!!!!!
Upload soon as possible!!!

you can post just the nbf or include the flashing tools if you want. if you post it, make sure that you put as much detail into the description as you can. also, definitely mention who's work you modified...

Request: WM6.1 NL for Kaiser/TYTN II

Hi Folks an great cooks,
Does anyone knows a good and stable wm6.1 NL rom for the TYTN II? I would realy appreciate it and i think more people would.
TNX in advance
Count me in
It's on the cooked ROMs wiki, which is linked in sticky or the Kaiser wiki. All you need to do is scroll down to the very bottom of the cooked roms page.
I don't know if it's stable, but it seems like the only one that exists. Please reply in that thread if you have questions about it.
We're continuing to improve the info found in this forum by linking existing threads to the sticky and the wiki. Please try to use these resources and search before posting.
Thanks!

It's actually the *ONLY* Kaiser WM6.1 ROM in another language right now, afaik.
i am using the rom for over a month or so now and i can only say it's a really good rom.
verry stable and fast and a good clean rom for further cooking.
there was only one problem with it and that was the radio.
so i dont use the 1.64 something radio and changed it to the polaris radio wich gives alot better reception and batterylife.
im on the orange network by the way.
all things said this rom was better for me than all the precooked crab dutty keeps pushing out.
i really like to cusomize my own phone and dont want a cooked rom with alot of stuff i dont use.
all the taskbar enhancing programs like qmenu or wtask i really hate those things.
and i also got fed up uninstalling all the programs i didn't like on my phone.
with this clean rom i can add all the stuff i use and like.
and use the phone like i want to.
but there always are people that like a rom that just gives u all the functions and programs dutty's rom has to offer..
just my two cents

allrighdy....Big tnx. I will try this one and fill it up with a bunch of tools.
Your welcome.. Hope you'll like it
Have'nt had the chance to flash it yet. I'll give it a try this weekend. Will let you guys know. Anyone knows where to find the radio rom witch was spoken about in this thread?
Flashed my TYTNII yesterday with this rom. Using the build in radio rom on a t-mobile netwerk. Works like a charm. Does anyone know where to find a cab file for a dutch HTC Action screen? would be great. TNX
exept the fact that this is my first 6.1 rom, i must say that no thrills rom spins pretty stable. it's a bitt to clean if you ask me, but you have the freedom to dress it the way u like. maybe i should take some cooking lessons and play with this base rom.
It's a shame that there are not that many dutch roms. There should be more, maybe some tweaked, dutch roms.

how to backup kaiser official rom

hello
i have a kaiser with official greek rom and if anyone can help me and tell me how to backup this official rom from my kaiser and how can i put this rom into another kaiser.
Thank you
The instructions for how to dump a ROM and then reconstruct it are on links within the Wiki:
Dump: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334680
Reconstruct: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=337066
I would strongly suggest you do a LOT of searching before you post questions like this. If the answer's out there, you'll be flamed to a burnt crisp. Alternatively, if you're asking a sensible question that hasn't been covered before, you'll be amazed how knowledgable and helpful everyone can be.

Question for the Seniors about ROM building.

I'm new to posting on here although I've been a member for some time now. I watch, read, listen & learn as much as I can from ya'll. HUGE FAN of ya'll's work. I think I'd like to try building my own ROM just to see if I can, so here's what I have......HTC ROM TOOL from Dark Simpson, Radio v1.65.14.06 from Dutty, & lots of cabs. The ROM tool asks for .nb or .nb0 files. i.e.-OS, Radio, Splash, & SPL. I'm assuming those (.nb, .nb0) are partial ROM files. Where do ya'll get these partial files from? And if there is a ROM extractor out there, would it be ok to extract a couple of ya'll's ROMs for "parts" purposes? All the information ya'll could provide would greatly be appreciated. Thanks to all in advance.
the tool you talking about just rebuilds roms it doesnt dump them for cooking. read the Wiki about kaiser rom cooking you will find all the tools like kaiserkitchen there and everything else you need. honestly you have no need for part1.raw and so on you just need the RUU_signed.nbh of what ever rom you want to cook
And if you do extract a base from a Cooked ROM. Give the chefs the common courtesy of telling them you are using it and/or get permission.

HyperCore Kitchen + Kaiser?

Hi all,
First off, I'm sorry for posting this in Kaiser ROM Development and not in the HyperCore thread, but it seems that the Hyper Core thread does not get updated often, and this thread pertains to cooking ROMs for the Kaiser, so I put it in here.
Well, my questions to you are:
1. Does anybody have any experience using HyperCore with the Kaiser? If so, could you post a very basic tutorial on how to get it working with the kaiser?
2. Does Hypercore even work with the Kaiser?
Thanks
I have asked this before and for some reason the "big time" chefs here don't seem to know. I sent a PM to the maker of Hypercore and he said it was too much work.
Basically I like the setup of the newest version of BuildOS+Package tools but can't seem to get that too work either...

No offense meant and in no way or intention of insulting your intelligence but, have you scan the thread that honcorrd gave 2 posts up? You will find there a working WM6.5 kitchen from trueg together with lots of precious advice on how to start cooking.
If I as a newbie and a wannabe cook may be allowed to give you an advice:
Learn first how to recover from a bricked device. Just in case you mess up cooking
Read, read, read specifically on kitchen threads & cooking. Learn the language of chefs: XIP, SYS, EXT, PRB, OEMXIPKernel, etc.
Check out the Development & Hacking thread and search for kitchen topics specifically for QVGA devices. There are lots of them available
Start cooking a WM6.1 ROM, play with it. You'll learn a lot & faster by trying out things yourself.
It will also be helpful to checkout [PICTORIAL] COOKING YOUR 6.1 ROMS USING ELF(in) HYBRID KITCHEN (kokotas) [ONLINE] by ayyu3m.
I see that you have a Gene as well, If I'm not mistaken I think BesFen has a good thread there about cooking.
Good luck!

yes as u said i had treidd ti make rom using by ayyu3m.but there were a dsm file error.
and about gene i had already uploaded 3 rom for new gene including 6.5.
and i had never found visual kitchen so much easy userface...
I don't know if other chefs have succeeded in using Ervius Visual Kitchen (EVK) to build Elf(in) ROMs. The only visual kitchen we have is as you mentioned - kokotas' Hybrid kitchen.
It works fine even on WM6.5.x but, the process to build ROM using this kitchen is tedious and the built ROM is buggy compared to the non visual B2 & trueg (both kokotas based) kitchens. Why not use those instead at the moment? Both works perfectly alright and quite easy to use.

Congratulations! That's great to know miky. I'm still trying to make EVK (v 1.8.x) built ROM bootable but has no luck yet. I wish you can share your secret!
I have requested help from other notable xda chefs to include Elf(in) in their VK's and I had some positive response. We will surely have a new EVK based kitchen soon!

For a newbie like me best thing to do is:
Follow ayyu3ms pictorial kitchen
Dump an original Elf(in) ROM, not a cooked one. Links are on the original ROM thread
Cook the dumped ROM. It should work
Start replacing the files with the new - target ROM.
Read trueg's post on the kitchen linked by me and honcorrd . I learned a lot from those
Ace your MBBS, no point in learning building ROMs if you don't pass it!
