Hello,
I am a software developer, writting a program to run on Treo 750. I would like to have programmatic control over the three side buttons while in my application.
In PalmOS this would be possible by hanlding sysNotifyVirtualCharHandlingEvent, but I cannot find a way to handle this in Windows Mobile.
I know there are quite a few tools on the market that let's you reprogram the buttons, but I am only interested in a solution that let's me take control over the buttons via code.
Thank you very much for your help!

Hi everyone.
I have my new Touch Pro and i saw it have a "full" TouchPad under the Screen.
My question is, might it be possible to display a Mouse-courser and control it with this TouchPad?
I dont know if this is usefull.
Badly i never coded for Windows Mobile, so is someone thinking this would be a nice application and want to code something like this?
Maybe if i get this damn Microsoft Visual Express Edition running, i will try something myself.
//Edit: just like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpKQOP9LJRU
It's a good idea, the touchpad is even multi-touch capable...
hate it on i900...
could be more interesting on touch pro/diamond, since the surface is larger
Hi everyone Im using remote touch for this. take a look at that freeware on this site here. as it is a beta there is no further guide on how to use this tool. anyway figure it out for yourself. it works for me, not always but it does most of the time.
have fun
hm.
maybe you did not understand me or i dont know if remote touch can control a mouse on your PocketPC and not on your Desktop PC.
best look at the movie in my first post to get a impression how i was thinking for a use of this touchPad.
Yes, like Samsung-i900 (Omnia). It's possible?
i think it is possible (but i am really new in WinCE developing).
I have finaly succesfully installed an IDE on my Work-PC.
And i think i also found somethink to move the "mouse".
Now i only need to install the IDE on my Home PC, loading DLLs into the program and i need to look into the SDK for the TouchPad. (Badly i have read that it has only one event that reads the rotations? this would be bad.)
Of course it would be faster if someone that is a lot more experienced in WinCE developing would try it.
Hello, I was the first one to come up with this idea. Check it out here:

Is it possible to make the area around the Dpad as touch buttons (touching the up button = pressing the up button, etc)? Since the Dpad is hard to press, it makes some games kinda unplayable...
Hi all,
I've had my TP for about a month now and it's great and thanks for all the great info and tweaks on the board.
I have Chinese (CE Star) installed as a selectable writing language so I was wondering is it possible to use/remap the hardware keyboard to switch between writing languages like on a desktop PC (ALT+Shift) since it is much more convienient using keys to switch than taking my hands off the keyboard and pulling up the SIP.
I tried using PQzII but I couldn't get it to work, so no luck there.
Any suggestions?
Any ideas?
If you can get a program that will switch with a command line, at least on the AT&T Fuze, there are a number of shortcuts the keyboard driver looks for on keypress, and if you have that shortcut there it will execute that rather than the pre-programmed function. People are using this to remap the short PTT button and long PTT button.
I have not looked at a Touch Pro keypad driver dll, so I don't know what shortcuts it's looking for.. but that's one idea
Oh great thanks for the suggestion, but aside from a registry editor, I'm not familiar with other programs which alter how the TP works.
Is command line similar to "Run-->cmd" on windows?
Also, I got my phone in Hong Kong; English OS with the Chinese software installed; it's an unlocked phone so dunno if that will make a difference with your suggestion.
Are there other programs similar to PQzII; like many others have said, the keyboard would be SO much more useful if it can be mapped. Thanks again.
Yes, the command line for a shortcut behaves the same as Run -> Cmd on windows, you provide arguments in the same manner: programname.exe -argument
So if you could find a program that would switch writing languages with an argument like -Chinese and -English, you could create a shortcut .lnk with that command in it.
Then, name it to whatever the keypad.dll is looking for, and it would execute that command instead of the default one.
If you'd like me to look into this further, I can disassemble the keypad.dll and determine which buttons can be remapped in this manner (on the fuze it's Music, SMS, IM, CV, Contacts, Calendar, Messages, Web, Long/Short Power, Long/Short PTT)
Great, thanks for the offer, but no need to do that. Seems like it'd take a good deal of time unless you feel so inclined to haha; perhaps I'll try PQzII again or maybe not.
But anyways thanks again!
I guess a question to everyone else that switches between typing languages...how do you change languages? Do you have a shortcut or do you also, like me, change languages through the SIP menu?
Ok, I've looked at plenty of software packages, and none of them seem to offer the feature I'm looking for. Basically, I want to be able to send a keyboard shortcut (Alt+Tab, Ctrl+Right Arrow, etc) to a PC from my Windows Mobile phone. I have the HTC Fuze, so, getting the key presses to the end PC via bluetooth or WiFi would work.
Does anyone know of a freeware software package, that isn't ugly as hell, or a way to script this?
I have experience writing VB.net applications, and I'm tempted to do this myself, but I don't really want to throw down the cash for Visual Studio Standard Edition license.
Hey all,
I want to write a small program for WM that write down all the keys that were pressed.
I read many blogs in that issue. It seems that Microsoft blocked any trivial way to do it
(meaning for mobile programming).
If anyone know a recomended site that explain how to do this task
I will appreciate it
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help. I am looking for a program that runs on windows mobile, and connects to a server on my desktop PC and can be used as a customizable "remote-control". There is a specific program i am looking for. I had it once, a long time ago, maybe 5 or more years ago, and you could make custom interfaces and set buttons to do different things. You could even set a mouse track pad and all sorts! I was just wondering if anyone knew what this program was as I cannot remember for the life of me.
I hope this isn't something i have dreamt up and now think is real!!!
Thanks if anyone can help!
you could take a look at Salling Clicker or "PPC Tablet Remote Control Suite v4.1.1".
PPC Tablet Remote Control Suite v4.1.1!!! Thats the one i used to have i think, just checking now, but it sounds right, the salling clicker looks interesting aswell. Thanks alot. This is exactly why i love this sight!
