Has anyone on this forum got or seen anything about this Hiphone.
It's suppost to be the closest clone of an iphone yet and was wondering of you xda-devs have came across one in the flesh so to speak.....
http://www.live25.co.uk/content/say-hello-hiphone
Thanks
EWW thats ugly i dont liek it
Coders and developers needed!
NOW!For all you Hiphone Iclone users there is hope come visit and support us at http://hiphonepro.freeforums.org and spread the word so we can get the developers to listen.
This thing has so much potential!
I wonder if the developers here might help us find out the mysterys of this phone and crack it open for development the phone is excelent but the firmware is limited and undeveloped it has alot of potential to surpass the iphone with just about anything the developer wants to add
Hahaha this thing looks so stupid
It looks as if someone build a foamphone like those foamfingers people use in stadiums and what not.
Don't get it, I am sure it has lead in it.

The Americans have a big thing about lead used in products at the moment, im talking about trace amounts of lead that don't mean anything but they have blown it all out of proportion, so for example my nokia 6300 has a chromed 4 way navigation button, in the manual it says dont put it next to your skin for prolonged periods due to lead content.
it is basically scaremongering to get the US public to stop buying products imported from china
I know I was being facetious.
I am sure all phones have lead, especially on the boards and chips inside, it was a joke.

I may come across that way.
Although I have spent the majority of my life in the states, I have spent a significant amount of time in the UK.
I lived in Southampton for a job until I was made redundant the moved back and still travel there now on business.

I live in China and this kind of Chinglish is everywhere, I love it. There is a second-hand market near my apartment with a huge sign reading "Chicken-hawk Fun Market" with a picture of an old man holding a teenage boy's hand....it's almost like they do it on purpose

Why would someone do anything with this phone, don't promote it, there's about as much potential in this phone as the one pictured above.

Anyone knows about HTC Diamond ?

will it be a solution to all problems with Cruise-Polaris
Andorid will be the answer once it comes out... but I don't belive HTC will ever come out whith the drivers... or say "Yes! We've [email protected] up, so buy our next 1000$ device"

A rather premature statement, me thinks...
The Diamond and Raphael both look really nice... a good breakdown of the specs here:
http://www.modaco.com/content/pocke...eal-htc-touch-pro-htc-touch-dual-pro-details/
although, I'm sure we'll get confirmation of the specs after the announcement next Tuesday.
I'm loving the prospect of VGA, although the 900mAh battery worries me slightly. Having gone from a Hermes to a Polaris, I really enjoy the lightness of the Polaris and don't miss the keyboard (too much) so I think I'd be getting the Diamond over the Raphael. Looking at the sizeasy pic the Diamond is tiny!

Yeah, possibly, but the pre-rendered quake was smoother on the the demo device (runs on MSM 7200) in the BBC interview than on anything else we've encountered sofar... Also Google isn't that cheap when it comes to customer satisfaction (unlike HTC)...

Google has nothing to do with it and Google couldnt care less; HTC builds the device and is responsible for the implementation of the OS on the hardware they use. They can **** up as much as they did now. The difference is only where the OS code comes from: MSFT or Google respectively.
If HTC fails, Google wont care, theres so many manufacturers going with Android (initially at least) so if one of them ****s up, theres a thousand others to chose from.
Similarily spoken: is there any news around that MSFT cares much about HTCs epic fail with their recent devices?

Accordin to the link I found earlier, 99x51x10.7/17mm for Diamond/Raphael. I'm shocked at how small they (admittedly allegedly) are...

What they're going to give us one free !!!
Yes, the drivers are needed but they don't make or break the phone. I sell almost every phone and cannot stay on one for more then 2 weeks (either would you if you paid cost) but I am very happy with the Touch Cruise and plan on keeping this phone as my main device.
I personally don't care about the HTC Diamond. Personally, I think VGA screens on around a 3" screen. I had a VGA screen on my E10 X800 and I honestly it did nothing for me.
Please check

It says Diamond will be launched on 6th of May in UK.
can some make this ridiculous SW (misspellings and all) for our devices, pleeaaaaase.
[sarcasm]i would love show-off this mockware to all the of those who aren't as rich as me.[/sarcasm]
eight people actually bought it? I guess that means we have eight CONFIRMED idiots on this planet.
wonder how many unconfirmed
i suspect it's mind boggling
LOL. I saw this on giz. I was ROFL'ing for like 5 minutes. And did you guys read about the dude who "accidentally" bought it? LOL
NO... We have more than 8 idiots. You have to include ALL THE APPLE STAFF who approved it in the first place. They probably only took it off when the 8 idiots complained and demanded their refund for the $1000 they spent.
This definitively looks like nice piece of software. I hope someone can develop such a useful and good looking application for our Windows Mobile devices. Otherwise, i might seriously reconsider buying an iPhone.
P.S.:
Congrats to developer of this original app. Nice way of earning few thousands $$ for few seconds of work. Way to go, good thinking!
And all this just proves that iPhone is just a toy for really rich people and true high-tech work of art only for idiots.
"I am rich" for Windows Mobile
Thanks to Julien we, WM users, finally have the chance to try this great app.
It looks like it's still in development. It's not fullscreen yet, but it's still free, so if you want to try this fine piece of software, now's the time.
Download here
YYYYYYEEEEESSSSSS! I just saw it here:
DL'd it and immediately ported it to my "iPhone"

i am, though, disappointed that the 'deserv' was spelled "correctly." argh, oh well. it's well worth the $2,000.00 i donated for this little gem.
Well, I guess it is still in development so it has some minor issues. I'm sure that fullscreen and misspelling will be added as soon as possible. But this is promising start and we will soon be as sophisticated as iPhone users. I also think that many iPhone users will migrate to WM devices since this app is no longer available in Apple's App Store, so we can expect at least few tousands new xda users in next few days.

APPLE fans scoffed when the press said it was an "iPhone killer".
Now Google's smartphone operating system Android looks to have lived up to the hype.
Research firm Gartner reported today that Android's share of the smartphone market grew by more than 600 per cent in the past year.
In the third quarter of last year, Android accounted for just 3.5 per cent of the market.
This year it's got 25.5 per cent.
That puts it ahead of Apple, Microsoft and the makers of the BlackBerry.
And to add insult to injury, those three all saw their market shares slide rather than grow over the past 12 months.
Gartner said Android's takeover was especially prominent in North America, the heartland of Apple fandom.
The firm said that in the third quarter of 2010, more than 20 million handsets running Android were sold worldwide.

Its because the iPhone is only on AT&T. If it was on every carrier, more people would have iPhones, including me.

Ok. For the first time i also was amused by that apple but only after 10minutes of entertainment i just lose hope to find something more as htc. So apple might never be my test for the long time

He was the same to Adobe with regards to Flash. If it wasn't for Macromedia/Adobe, Apple would have died LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG ago. If it wasn't for Macromedia's software, graphic design and video editing software, and, of course, Flash, wouldn't have been designed on a Mac and Apple would have died a slow, painful, death. And even before that, MS bailed the c***s outs.

oh lord.
You do realize being out in the market and existing or in development arent the same right ?
iPhone STILL looks like it did when it first launched. Bunch of icons on several pages. Apples theft or "borrowing" of design and features is well known and documented. People dont have it out for Jobs they just recognize hypocrites when they see one.

How many options does ios5 "steal" from android or others. Such is the nature of business. If someone buys something, another company is going to produce a similar product with their own twist to appeal to another group of consumers and some of the "original" company's. When one company started building suvs, and another company sees a trend they will too. If one company sees that ppl like rear window wipers others are going to manufacturer them too. Take something, build it to your liking and add in to it. There are few truly genuine and unburrowed ideas in today's business. If you think you have a niche in the market, don't plan on having it long unless you continue to innovate. Heck, apple even spends less on its r&d per revenue then goggle, microsoft, or rim. Because they gave up on innovation and spent more on legal departments and advertising?

Hey @Android-Andi
didn't wanted to OT one of your threads but I feel like saying a big fat THANKS for all the work on Android for Espresso/SGT2 and the recent updates, especially since you find time for this old, old Lady again, besides your troubled times...
When there was the last blackout I didn't expected to ever see anything from you (yes, I read your github entries) and I would have completely understood that but it's just a joy to see you working again!
This feels a little like you winning the fight or at least decided to take the fight and give your iron fist to whatever stands in your way (metaphorically) - and that feels good to see, the new builds are just a side effect of you healing!
So that's just a few thoughts from my side...
Yours sincerely
Thanks for your words!
Sometimes you have to accept an challenge, even if it's hard and there's no real end to see. There's more parts which make life not easy atm, but can't say public.
I'll have to trust in myself that things go better in future, at least the financial part is one I could change myself in future (share the apartment with my girlfriend and stepdaughter? or finding a better paid job?). Until that I have to stay strong and enjoy the time of things which still go right.
Some donations made to me for development helped on paying parts of the vet bills, releasing new builds from time to time is a way to say "thanks" back to the community. So yeah, I have to say thanks too and it's one coming directly from my heart!
I've never been the one asking for help in the past, I always have been one of those being glad to help others if I was able to. those changes are hard to accept...
And Shorty says "thanks" too. His blood test results still aren't good, but he's out of a critical part and if it's better on Wednesday we can lower the cortisone in the evening a little bit.
