Sprint Touch - General Topics

I can't find a section for the Sprint Touch by HTC. Reviews suggest it is a much better performer than the original Touch by HTC, so I'm really wanting one. I'd like to see a section for it.
I'm also curious about the MicroSD card slot capacity. HTC says it will hold a 4gb, which is SDHC (unless someone has a non-hc version of the 4gb) and the sdhc capacity is now up to 32gb by Sandisk and Toshiba, and I really like the idea of 32g of storage.
Any help appreciated.

Sprint touch is the same as the Vogue.

i have a touch and the 4GB Micro SCHC works flawlessly

Hi I have an OKTA (NZ Version of the Sprint Touch).
It rocks! I have never run out of memory and runs everything I could possible want super quick.
The only hurdle you have to get over is having no keyboard. I personaly have found the TouchPal Pro is awesome and realy completes my Touch.
The only thing I am waiting on now is MobileShell 2.0. Once that comes out it will be the complete device as far as I am concered.
Buy one!

thanx! Found it... While I was searching the list of devices/forums, I also saw the Elf. Is it different than the Vogue? Sorry in advance for not searching, but an iPhone on edge is just too slow. Appreciate your response!

ETEN M700 user review or info

Dear all,
Does anyone have this pda phone review (in english)
info so far ?
Can it work on skype ?
Thanks
http://shop.eten.hu/eten-glofiish-m700-p-100.html
Skype Receiver Switch on board
eten's PDAs work really good with skype AFAIK, but m700 is not a powerful device (i saw a review somewhere but it wasn't in english..)
if you want to know more about eten's PDAs' technical info and problems and stuff, check out this site
X_Farhad you saved with that link. I was considering to buy Glofiish X500 but after reading the forum I have relised it has too many problems. Comparatively, HTC P3300 is much better albeit a slower device.
Comparing apples with oranges? The M700, the topic issue, won in all direct comparisons with the P3300, hands down. Not even to speak about the crippled 3300-versions floating around from operators like T-Mobile...

well from my point of view, x500 is much better, there are not many flawless devices availabe... but the thing is, HTC users got XDA-DEV, and that's the true blessing
Admin edit: message removed because of spamming.
After a month of research, I'm going to go with a P3300 instead of the ETEN products as well. They have way too many problems and from what I can see from review, the P3300 has the least problems I've ever seen. The only issue that was really an issue was the "card corruption" issue and that was fixed with an official patch from HTC. The ETEN's not only have issues with their software and hardware, but they also have poor support from the company. Really wanted one, but just too much of a gamble at getting a good one.
did anyone patch their m700 to PDAViet 4.0.0.0.6 Touch or any touch ROM?
i would like to do it
How can I add my sd card capasity

I would recommend HTC HD
But first check here so you can make your own slection based on what you really need form a PDA:
http://www.pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdachooser
Cheers,
Assuming money isnt a problem.
You need to know what you wanna do with the PDA.
1. Do you need GPS?
2. Do you play games?
3. Fast internet?
4. Do alot of typing?
5. Powerful Processor?
6. music and/or video?
7. Advance configuration like changing roms, cooking and major software tweaking?
If all the above is yes. Raphael is the overall best.
Touch HD got no D-pad so gaming is a little tedious. It also does not have a keyboard but has a superbly large screen.
Processor need not be powerful and need not type alot? got for Asus. P750 if u have the budget P320 if not.
Are you intending to learn to cook roms and develop software. Try HTC G1 android.
They're all my opinions only. As Orb3000 wrote "But first check here so you can make your own slection based on what you really need form a PDA:

thank you guys! artemis is HTC p3300?? how about samsung omnia i900? is it good? i like the design and the specs ... i like the HTC HD but the price is so high ... 700 euros ... that's a lot of money that i will never spend on a PDA phone! I had the LG KS20 in may this year and i was very, very disappointed!

So far there has only been one good response to your question (Serphinox). You need to identify what YOU want the phone to do and be specific. All you will get is blatent favourtism with the way your question is worded.
Blatent favourtism...... (and my honest, very experienced opinion)
I have owned serveral HTC phones and regreted each one eventually. I now have an Omnia with the HJ5 firmware (a must!) and its absolutley awesome. It kicks some serious HTC booty. I've had a Blue Angel, TyTN, TyTN 2 and currently still own a Touch Diamond (Of all my HTC phones, I've had at least 2 of each due to hardware failures/poor manufacturing). Which phone do I use everyday? The Omnia.... no contest. The Omnia does have a lower res screen than HTC devices but actually, this is well thought out. It allows for a longer battery life, its VERY fast at updating (even my TD with Swiftblade 7.5 don't stand a chance) and .... because its low res, its VERY finger friendly like the Iphone. Put simply, it works. I now have zero issues with it, something I have NEVER been able to say about ANY HTC phone i've used. It simply does its job, everytime, 100% of the time with no fuss. Note though: Because of the screen res, don't buy it if you want to play games as they are generaly written in the standard screen formats of which this is not. Btw, dont use Samsung Widgets, they are for Joe Punter, you want Samsung Today 2... its the daddy!
Oh, who else has 32gig storage in there phone? Currently I have some 2500+ songs and iGO8 with all the world maps ..... and still loads of storage free
You know, i've also owned a Tosh G900 which was FAR from "tosh" and again an excellent phone. I only wish more people realised there was more to life than HTC.

edited my signature .. thank you for the great answer ! gonna get the omnia ... maybe dont know 4 sure but i believe it's a great deal. you say that the ress of the omnia screen is different from the other phones and i will not be able to play games ... now that's not GOOD
now i own a nokia e71 and i can change the ress of games and than install them into to my phone and they work ... is there a way that i could change the ress for the games that work on wm 6 devices??

its not that you WONT be able to play games, its just that you need games that are coded to work with odd screen sizes - and this can be limiting. I think its fair to say that most games written now are for 480*640 (640*480) and this is not the Omnias screen size. That said, the Omnia does seem to be selling very well so I would hope more developers start creating there apps to scale mathmaticaly rather than fixed for a specific size.
Should you wish to use SPB Shell, you are also limited to the amount of custom skins available however, this will grow .... you could even create your own!
As for your games, I would think you will be ok. They should be on your PC in your activesync program. Once you create a new sync between the pc and your new device, you can then go into activesync's add programs section and select to install. Of course, if you have the individual .CAB files (which are also actually on your pc as well) then you can just drag these on to your new device and install.
edit: I cannot stress enough though, you need to update to the HJ5 rom if you buy it. Details can be found at i900.modaco.com.
I vote for the Touch Pro.
In my opinion HTC devices I own or owned (Universal, Tytn and Touch) are great devices, never had problems with them, so that makes me stick to HTC because their experience manufacturing WM powered devices, also the great support and the main reason because of this wonderfull site!!.
If you decide for the Omnia you will not have the support form this site has for HTC devices (I´m sure exist another sites for Omnia)
So once again I´ll recommend an HTC device absolutly
Just my personal opinion
Good luck on your decision!

Yes you do, search and see! Windows Mobile is Windows Mobile You can also get cooked roms also from various sites.
However, OP, you have not really said what your requirements are and you need to. Be specific and people can really recommend properly rather than our phones

hhmm ... this would be the important specs: big screen (minimum 2.8 inch), gps, bluetooth, wireless, 128 ram, 256 rom, 400 mhz procesor, 3.2 mp camera with autofocus, qwerty keypad !
Whats got two cylinders, does 0-60 in 3.8 seconds and holds the production record for top speed in its class?

as long as you upgrade to latest firmware (see i900.modaco.com) you won't regret it. I would recommend though you try and see if you can get an Omnia-T. As mentioned, same phone but has DVB-T and 800*480 screen - although this will decrease battery life a little.
Anyway, enjoy!

Trinity with WM5 - SDHC 8GB working fine

Hi there,
I've been following this great forum for a long time. Congratulations to all who make this a great place to learn everything about our mobile phones.
Well, I don't know if this is new to everybody here (I searched and I found nothing about this), but I've managed to see all the 8gb of a Kingston microSD (+ adapter, of course) in my WM5 (original rom) Trinity. I've tried all the cabs I've found and this one really works.
Hope it works with you too. Try it and give some feedback.
Trinity with WM5 and 16GB SDHC card working
Me too, I have a 16Gb Kingston SDHC card working in my WM5 HTC P3600 and also my WM5 HX2490b PDA thanks to those drivers. I was going to bite the bullet and upgrade to WM6.1 but no need to now..

Hi.
Are you saying that on Windows 6.1 and Windows 6.5 ROMS, there is no need to install any cab?
In my experience with both 6.1 and 6.5, after a soft reset, my device fails to see my 4gb kingston micro.
I'm still looking for a solution... has anyone tried the above cab on a Trinity with cooked 6.5 ROM like Tommei45's?
Thanks,
Mattster.
Grazie !!!!!
Thanks a lot! It runs to 100% on my trinity WM5 with Original Italian Rom. Again, thanks to you very, very much !!!!
I did buy a Kingston micro SD class 4 with 4GB and it works on my trinity 3600 with Karmba_a Rom.
Any experience with more Gigs like 8 or even 16?
Regards,
f
This is exactly what I'm looking for. Beside my Diamond I still use my old Trinity. I've been using this GPS WM5 ROM since came out and with 1.56 radio it works excellent. Just installed the driver, I go and buy a 16G SDHC as it said to be working. Feedback later. Thanks!
Edit: Works fine! I've bought a 8 gig SDHC class6 micro card with mini adapter and have been using for weeks now. Perfect.
hey guys, what about WM6.5?
Does it work with memory bigger than 4GB?

I'm kind of curious myself. Does WM 6.5 recognizes SDHC on Trinity?
I've just installed nAr & Icke WM6.5, and my old (original) TomTom navigator 6 doesn't install.
So now I have to install a new GPS program, but my 2GB SD is not enough.

SDHC support depends on the kernel drivers - the original WM5 trinity roms had no SDHC support, so the cab was needed.
Every cooked rom based on the latest WM6 kernel for trinity has proper SDHC drivers, so no need for an extra cab.
For your soft reset problem I suggest changing the rom or the card, or re-formatting the card. The SD standard allows 2GB max, and only SDHC allows bigger cards. There were non-standard 4GB SD cards when the SDHC standard was not finished, so maybe it's an early non-SDHC 4GB card?
I know for shure with my WM6.5 rom I have no problems using a 8GB SDHC micro with adapter, not even after soft reset.

Well, since we have the same model phone, radio and ROM, can you tell me what brand is your card?
EDIT:
I finally got a 8GB micro-SD (with mini-SD adapter) from Ebay. Didn't need to do anything for it to work. Just opened the slot, slide it in, and "Voilá!" 7,6GB extra space
I need your help!
I look to update my Swisscom Assistant XPA v1510 (HTC P3600) from WM5 to WM6 /6.1 or 6.5 (and also a newer TOMTOM-Version). But i have no idea which WM6-Version is fully compatible to my XPA v1510 from Swisscom (Swisscom herself does’t support any higher WM-Version)
Where can I find the needed SW and how can I update/upgrade my XPA?

XDA Orbit memory card question.

Hi Everybody, this is my first post on here so go easy on me if its in the wrong place or something. I have searched this too with a few vague'ish answers so just thought I'd look for a definative one. My phone is a bog standard O2 XDA Orbit with Windows 5.0 What is the biggest memory card it will take. At the moment I have a 2GB one in there, works fine but I have 6GB of music and was wondering if one of those 8GB Micro SD HC cards would work in it as they seem very cheap to buy on EBay?? (And sorry again if this is a bit low-brow for this forum!!)
Thanks for any advice,
Steve.

Hey guys! I'm new here. My contract with orange romania is expiring and i was wondering if you could help me out. i have the option to choose between the HTC TOUCH PRO and the TOSHIBA TG01. i held them both in my pants.. hands sry, and the both feel very good . now, the htc is more easy to use , has a better camera and faster messagin optio thnks to the qwerty keyboard but the toshiba support WM6.5 and has that diamond in it, the 1Ghz Snapdragon processor. so, i really need help on deciding . a person recomended not to take the toshibe because of scarce acesories and body parts in case of service support.
i must make up my mind until monday 11 am Bucharerst time .

Toshiba TG01 FTW, yeh the htc touch pro has better software, but if you get the tg01, install the htc roms that our fantastic chefs cook! the one in my signature is IMHO the best sense ROM, gives it a near perfect expeirience to the htc hd2. and its a snapdragon! my friend has the touch hd, very simiiliar CPU to the touch pro and it is much slower. anyway the touch pro has been suceeded by tp2. the screen of the tg01 is wvga, so it is clearer. personally imho the touch pro is outdated and , get the tg01!
ok guys, due to lady bad luck the toshiba was sold and best next one was the htc touch pro. now i need you're help in finding a good os/updates/apps/something to get it 'rollin' . i would like something stable not that ported android beta os. any advice is welcomed.
and thank you oly for that quick response
IMHO,go for the hTC touch pro...Its a good device when you compare it to the Tosh... Also, the service network of Toshiba is in shambles....Need i say more after you read this?
tnks shr. but i have already bought it... now what OS do you recomend? apps.. everything. i am open to advices/links
please i would realy need another rom because this one lag-s!!
Have a look at the one in my Signature.
Also look at newer TAEL 2.5 sense & Energy ROMs.
TAEL ROM is smooth for me but user tweaking & the ability to read instructions & threads makes the diference between good & bad user experiences !
Tarkin Keyboard button driver is a must, will list some more stuff when have 10 minutes to spare, in middle of catching flight so just a quick reply.
oh, thank you very much! i do appreciate it! but unfortunate, i am a noob. i have never flashed a phone. all i had till now where symbian phones. this is first WM and HTC experience for me .
TG01 Roms
Hi I have been roaming around this forum for a few years now.
I too have a TG01, The best bit of advise I can give is to stay away from any win7 roms, the TG was not designed to ever run it. Win7 is very slow.
There are some very good roms out there, I have found that anything from mirolg tends to be stable.
With regards to flashing a new Rom Check out the "how to Guide" in the TG01 section (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=654674) if you are still finding it a little hard have a search for the problem, but if you still cant work it out drop me a PM.
Hope you have a good time finding your perfect Rom.

We were all virgins to flashing at one point.
Do some research & follow guidelines for 6.5 install & run in period from energy & all should be well ! quite simple really ...
In my opinion 2.1 sense is better option on touch pro but some of the newer 2.5 sense ROMs are supposedly fast but do consume more memory resources & battery power.
