on my old htc touch i could add a complete contact to the photo contact page, but on the cruise i can only seem to add a given number, is this some setting i am missing somewhere (or a change in touchflo, if so, what version changed this?!)
when add the picture, do you guys notice the quality of picture drops? .. picture turns to blur abit .. ..

seems to be the case that after choosing contact u choose which number of contact u want to add. will let u know if i find something.

yes, but on the old touch you could add the whole contact, and then when you pressed it you got to choose what number to call. Perhaps its a reg entry, i haven't looked
I had a look in the registry, and it seems that the contacts are stored under:
HKLM\Software\HTC\Contacts
could someone with a htc touch and/or dual (or some older version of the touchflow) post some information on what those keys contain?

I just upgraded my wizard to WM6 (NBD v7.8), and so far I'm loving it. There's just one thing bothering me. When I add a contact without a photo to the fancy quick dial thingie in HTC Home/TouchFLO it displays only the contact's first name - not a good idea, especially since I want to have 3 people with the same name on that list. Is there a way to make those apps display something different? The "Nickname" field would be perfect, but I'll settle for the full name or something similar
go to the contact you want to change, then edit it, then go to File as and enter whatever you want, from now on in your contacts it will show up as whatever you put in
I think you misunderstood, I don't want to change the way the contact is displayed in "Contacts", I want to change the way it's displayed in the "HTC Home" today plugin and the "TouchFLO" app, and the File As field has no effect on that.

I've tried the search but I could'nt find anything because the words were too common. I'd like to change the behaviour of the people tab in manila 2D, so that when I click a picture it calls the person instead of opening up the contact file... I don't really understand why it does this anyway, because when you add a contact in the tab in the first way it asks you to choose either mail/sms or phone number, and even adds a little icon on the bottom...

I'm sure you've figured this out, but if you press on the bottom part of the contact picture (with the phone symbol or icon) it will call them.
I like the feature that when you tap the upper portion it open up contact info. If you want to text or email one of your fav contacts it's the easiest and quickest way to do so.
I could be wrong, but I believe this is a feature of M2D that is built in and can't be changed. Kinda like asking for a calendar tab, or stock tab.

Just for future reference, it is against forum rules to double post. I know you found the Manila thread, after you already started this thread, but you should have search before starting a new thread.
I would've actually switched between the option if it was up to me
clicking the picture should call the person and the bottom part should bring up the contact's page.

Yeah, I agree that would be better. Sometimes my big thumb hits the picture when I'm in a rush.
P.s. I have to apologize for a double post as well, I answered his question in both threads.

my problem is the opposite of this.
when i clik the picture in the people tab nothing happens. but when i click the name it calls the contact. how do i make it work to bing up the contact info when i clik the picture.

strangely buggy... I've never heard of that before. It might be the skin. try changing it use M2D customizer and see what happens.
When I recieve a new MMS message from someone in my contact list that I have assigned a picture to, the standard WM6 notification that shows the sender, and their photo comes in at the very bottom of the screen and it is half cut-off.
Hopefully this makes sense.
Is there any way I can fix this?

I have a kaiser with a stock ROM.
I'm sure this has to do with PCM, and S2V. When you use either of these apps to assign contact photo's the higher resolution is also shown on the notification bubble/window when you recieve an MMS message.
But instead of some sort of "auto adjust", the notification window comes in on the same place on the today screen, but the window is half cut off.

Yeah, I know what's causing it, but I want to know how to *fix* it without having to possibly reassign all of my contact pic's with the WM6 contact manager.
Is there something in the registry that can adjust where the notification shows up on the screen??
what i meant was... that you'd probably need to either use it as is or talk to one of the developers to see how to fit the pics differently... or it would throw itself back to different res.

Since sensation has high resolutions screen contact number fonts in contact list is very small. It is very difficult to read after 40 years of age
This is one of the basic function of this device. It is very difficult to see without to magnifier. Pinch to zoom works elsewhere but not here.
Could you tell me a way to see text in contacs program without carrying magnifier in my pocket

It looks like htc has forgatten to announce that People over 40 needs to buy glasses together with sensation even if they dont need normally
System font shange affects many things. It changes design completely I think
That is why I am looking for another solution
HTC keeps forgetting that not everyone has perfect eyesight, I have trouble reading many HTC applications and widgets. Most annoying to me was/is* the Calendar app: Appointment details usually span less than 35% of the screen, and you can't zoom in. Contacts are also an issue, but I usually tap phone and start typing the name on the numeric keypad, I keep typing until one name is left, which I then tap to call / send message / ..
I am happy with the SMS Application and Mail application though - pinch-to-zoom works on both now (Previously it would only work on Mail I believe).
*: I use Simple Calendar Widget by Alex Gavrishev, which is fully customizable.

Yes, You absoultely right
For example, When driving, or doing something else It is impossible to see phone numbers during incoming calls
This is a phone and We should see contact names and phone number easily and clearly. This is highest priority I think

Has anyone tried editing the build.prop to change the lcd density to a higher number, I have decreased it to make everything look smaller, it only rewins the lockscreen when I do that, I haven't tired making everything bigger by increasing the number.. anyone want to be a guinea pig?
I want ask... If I make call or if someone call me and I have store this number in my contacts and I dont have set picture of this contacts, then in CM7.2 dialer is some picture (as default picture of all contacts). Can I change it for some other?

I do not really know what you mean
Do you mean to change the contactphoto of a single contact?
Contacts/"Contact2Change"/Menu/Edit contact/ There u can change the pic
Otherwise if you mean to change the standardphoto for every contact i cannot help you...sry!

You mean that fancy green robot? It is built in Phone.apk - "picture_unknown.png". Not sure if it's possible to repack this apk with updated resource.
