Removing 'E-mail' label for left soft key & Battery indicator

Hi
Is there anyway to remove the 'E-mail' label for the left softkey?
I tried using the registry hack on:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112
to change it to 'Messaging'. After the change, when I press the left soft key, I see both E-mail AND Messaging (highlighted) and I have to select it to launch Messaging. Can I get rid of E-mail completely so that with one key press I can launch Messaging?
In addition, is there a way to remove the battery indicator on the top task bar? Or maybe even replace it with the volume indicator?
I'd also like to know this.. can anyone help??

That only adds another menu item to the left softkey, it doesnt remove the email item. We want to completely get rid of the "Email" menu option
To the best of my understanding, the today screen softkeys are handled by a Palm specific program. As such, the ability to customize the function of the softkeys is quite limited. You may, however, be able to "kill" Palms handling of the softkeys and alter them as per other WM5 devices. (Downside to this is you lose the, IMHO, nice right softkey popup menu.)
Ingenious developers will most certainly find a way around this, but I don't imagine it will be as simple as a registry tweak.
Yep the menu button is a great addition by Palm.

How do I remove bar on the bottom of the screen?

Hello,
Not sure what do you call it but how do I remove a bar on bottom of a screen right on top functional buttons which currently shows me battery meter and communication manager. I have no use for it, is it possible to get rid of it?
its called the tray, navigate to windows/startup/delete tray_init
There are going to be other apps that you will need to delete the startup shortcuts for as well such as dr. Yar Bluetooth or BTIO

check out the cabs provided by Spencepu3 ( 4th post from the top)
to remove the softkeys you need a program called dcinobar.exe. Once you download it just put in on your device somewhere and make a shortcut to put in your windows/startup folder and it will run every time you start your device. to get your softkeys back just delete it
And to remove the tray icons ( namely the battery and wifi icon in the tray) go to windows/startup using file explorer and delete wifinit and initray that should get rid of them.
anh lemme make it easy heres the link to DciNoBar

I think epimazzo may have included this option in his KhanX lite V3.1 rom. I am using the rom now - and there is no bottom tray or soft keys.
Either that - or I did something wrong during install.
The soft keys are still working - but do not appear on screen.

Remove Start Menu from Task Bar

Hi,
I have looked around the forums and haven't found (or cannot find!) a simple solution for an issue I have with my HD2.
I want to restrict the Start Menu on the main Taskbar as I quite often touch it accidently when in other apps. As there is an exclusive Start Menu button on the bottom of the HD2 I don't really see the point of having it on the top bar as well.
Responses much appreciated.
If you're on WWE ROM, the closest match is this,

These links point to icons for the task bar.
I want to know how to remove the top left 'start' button from the task bar completely.
No point keeping it seeing as there is a hard button. Cleans up the task bar.
Any solutions out there?
i want it too.........................

I don't think it is possible to remove the (top left) Start Menu button (WM 6.1/6.5). As far as I'm aware this can only be done on WM 6.5.3+ (23xxx+) where the Start Menu is in the bottom left corner.
This what I have to remove the Start Menu on my 6.5.x (bottom left):
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\BubbleTiles]
"TextModeEnabled"=dword:00000001
"HardwareStartKeyEnabled"=dword:00000001

Thanks for the tip. I checked WM6.5. The 'BubbleTiles' registry folder does not exist.
Thanks anyway.
