Internet sharing

Does anyone know if I can connect my laptop to internet via my phone, T-zone internet, by using Internet sharing? I failed to do this. Can someone give me an instruction? thanks
hey buddy, you need to have data connection on, when you connect your phone via usb and internet sharing enable. Make sure you have tmo's proxy configured in your T-Mobile Data Connection.
Work with phone but Laptop
Yes my phone is able to connect to internet by itself, Tzone with proxy setup, but I would like to go to internet by using my laptop and use the phone as modem by running internet sharing program but It failed to connect.
what you are asking about is turning your laptop into a hotspot and connecting to the internet using the wifi not regular nework. is that it

you need to connect the phone to your computer via bluetooth and your computer will see the phone as a modem then setup the a new connection with the phone and voila.
I am using usb cable to connect it. I am running NBD 8.2.
not sure how to make it work on the cable but with 8.2 you should be able to connect the phone to the PC and turn on dialup networking via serial port over bluetooth

I never tried this before. I will try it tonight.
You have to set up the same proxy server in your web browser on your laptop as the one you have set up for the t-mobile internet on your phone.
Not sure really if its different for T-Mobile or not but i'm with Cingular and I use my wizard as my primary internet source for my desktop. Connect your phone via USB, let AS connect, then turn on internet sharing. It'll disconnect AS and display on internet sharing if its connected or not. Hopefully this helps.

Work great. thanks
No problem, glad I could help. I figured that out a few weeks ago the day after I got back from a business trip where I stayed in hotel that didn't have an internet connection and no wifi spots anywhere close. Wish I had thought to try that sooner.

Question about internet sharing . . .

Hi guys.
Its my first post in your forum.
I have one strange question.
I have ADSL .
When I connect my ppc with activesync to my desktop pc I can use ADSL with my mobile .
So how can I share this internet with WIFI ROUTER exactly like GPRS ?
It means how can I share ADSL with my leo with WIFI ?
Is it possible ?
Tnx . . .
Do you mean you don't have a WiFi router, just a standard router that you plug a network cable to your pc? In that case you need to share your internet connection from your PC, then wireless connect to it with the HD2 through a Ad-Hoc connection.
If you have a WiFi router then go to WiFi in your HD2 and connect to your network like on a pc.
My friend i mean when i go to WIFI ROUTER menu, only i can share GPRS with that .
it work and its visible for my laptop.
But i want to share my ADSL that connect to my ppc with Activesync with WIFI ROUTER .
For example i want to use my ppc like wareless modem to share that ADSL .
Is it clear ?
Oh, I see what you mean now. Sorry, I don't know how to do that, or even if it's possible.
Good luck, I hope you figure it out.
thank you xeebot.
If somebody can solve this problem please write here . . .

[Q] how to connect internet on mobile using wifi

I have a Sony xperia u and pc rumning on windows seven with pppoe connnection on it. I want to connect the.connection on pc to muy mobile usong wifI I dont have any wireleas routers or any WiFi card currently. All I want to know is what to buy and how to connect it with my mob:mobile.
The shsorter version of my question is
Can I acess my pc internet on my mobile using WiFi USB dongle and what are the other ways to browse internet on my mobile using WiFi?
Thank you
No, I don't think you can do it with a USB wifi dongle (more importantly, why would you get one if you don't even have a wireless router?).
You're going to have to get a router that serves as a client to your pppoe, which will share the connection to your PC and your phone. You can buy a router that supports DD-WRT or Tomato (there are lots of cheap options here). Or just buy one that supports that functionality out of the box.
yes of course!!
u can do that man..
just buy a usb wifi dongle..
and install connectify
that software will make ur laptop as a router, so u can share ur laptop internet connection to other device
search using google "Connectify 3.4 crack download"
thanks for the replies guys
bought asus rt n10

Lumia 710 tethering , connected but no no Internet

Hi , so after I update my Lumia 710 , I got the new option of internet sharing , I tried it with a BlackBerry device and it just worked fine , on my laptop I tried to connect and the OS told me that I should turn on DHCP for Wireless networks , I did that and I just got connected and everything , my Windows7 network and sharing center shows me connected to the internet via this network , BUT still no internet access.
and ideas ?
thanks in advance

could be your provider? if not make sure you add the connection to your home network and not public or work.
Thanks for the reply,I made sure it is home network, but what do you mean by provider, can my provider block me from accessing the 3G connection from my laptop ? People used to wire their old mobiles to work as modems to connect, why would this be different ?, i think lm missing something obvious here.
Wired tethering (where the phone acts as a cellular modem for the PC) and wifi tethering (where the phone acts as a WiFi access point) are different, and require different software. The software for the latter will frequently include checks to see if your mobile operator permits tethering. USB modem tethering works differently and, assuming you configure the PC to connect in the ame way as the phone, is essentially indistinguishable.
Note that all of the gen1 Windows phones could also do USB tethering, although it was unofficial and sometimes a bit of a hack. I don't know if the Lumias have such a hack or not, but if they do, it should work even if the WiFi tethering doesn't.
Alternatively, since you're on a 710, you could (if you want) install a custom ROM. This would enable you to use WiFi tethering without the operator check, among many other cool hacks. Nobody has yet found a way to do high-privilege hacks on a stock Lumia ROM, though.
Also, in what way does your Internet connection not work? Do you receive an IP address? A DNS server? If you type "ipconfig /all" into the command line, what output do you get? (Please, just the lines about your wireless network adapter. Alternatively, do "ipconfig /all > ipconfig.txt" to produce a text file, and then attach that to your post here.) If you type "ping google.com" does that work?
Thanks for the informative reply , it seems like it needed a restart for ping to work , Pinged Google successfully, for the browser it was my fault , I had an old proxy settings enabled , I just had to removed it and I'm posting here now using this exact connection
