GPS always trying to connect via MY ISP GPRS with WM6.1 - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

Ok so every time I try to connect to my GPS via Google Maps and Live Search my phone trys to connect to "MY ISP GPRS" and I get:
Dialed isp.cingular
cannot connect
error. I do not know why it does this. I have tried to remove hidden proxy still does it. tried restoring hidden proxy still the same. manually connected to COM4 still the same thing.
I have no GPS, is there a fix to this?
Also I am using ALEX's WM 6.1

first off what operating sys are you on att..vodafone..etc??
it looks to me that you have att...well you would first need to get the cab that you can find around here just search that would set all of your internet configuration....also with all these 6.1 roms there has been a problem with gps that has not been solved yet.....but fyi google will use your gps plus your operators internet to get access....it used both so if you dont have internet google is no good.....after that you just need to sit tight until one of these great chefs find the gps prob on 6.1...if you cant wait revert back to 6.0 for now....also check your radio version i think that has to do with a lot with gps also!!!
search search search...thats the way of the gods!!!!
good luck!!

thanks i have been looking for a while I may go back to 6.0 for a minute until everything is fixed.

I had this problem too. I performed a hard reset and didn't allow the connection setup to run. I entered the data conection info by hand. I also only have the single my isp created. it just points to wap.cingular
I also haven't turned on a-gps in schaps adv config.
so far no issues with the dial error cropping up.

WiFi internet issue on WM6

I`ve got a T-Mobile MDA with WM6 and I cannot access the internet through WiFi. The access point that I connect to is working cause I am able to access the net fine on my laptop. I made sure that my network cards are set to connecte to the internet. I even did a softreset after I made the changes.
My internet explorer just sits there on locating. I am not sure if its just my WiFi card configured incorrectly within WM6 or if its a reg setting that isn't set right.
If anyone had this issue before and got it fixed let me know or give me some direction to start.. thanks in advance for your help.
This is a fairly common problem. For me disabling the Wireless G option in the registry did the trick:
Registry: HKLM\COMM\TNETWLN1\PARMS
Key: dot11SupportedRateMaskG
Value: 1
so I diabled it, soft restet, verified that the reg change sticked, which it did. I tried to access the net again with no go.
me too
I have the exact same problem.
Not much discussion about this
I tried the G fix. Didn't work. Funny thing. It started when I installed MB. Downgrading DIDN'T fix it.
Try setting the the Network Card to connect to "The Internet" instead of "Work"
they are set to that..
That actually worked for me. (The Internet instead of work fix) I also made sure that all the boxes for "Server assigned IP address were checked. I could have sworn I tried that already. I wonder if it will stay "fixed". I'm due for a soft reset...seems to be working. I've been thinking all along it was some stupid setting.

check the change your dns to 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 this may fix your problem

Changing to Internet and setting the DNS doesn't seem to help. Funny thing is, GMail via Midlet Manager seems to work (maybe its doing GPRS?). But IE just spins at Locating...
wifi internet issue on wm6
although i have the older version of t-mobiles' mda (wm5), i had similar issues connecting to the net even it sees a lot of wireless aps. either i cannot hold a steady connection or cannot connect at all. the solution i had was changing the channel on my wireless ap and updating my mda's parameters for my local wireless security. now i can go to the web using my mda even with poor signal quality. It is possible that you have several wireless ap's at your location sharing the same channel. hopefully changing the channel solves your problem.
simple possible solution, but check the proxy settings? I know with cingular, many people had trouble browsing the internet due to the MediaNet proxy settings. they removed the proxy settings and everything was fine then.
There is a known issue with your rom your running...there has been a new release. check the MB thread and you will see a recent listing about a 6 and 4 mb page pool, the wifi has been fixed.

I have the original MB edition and I do not have any wireless problems. I know he had to fix the re-released versions as the wifi did not work with them initially, but I was unaware of a wifi problem with the initial release.
WIFI problem don't even see networks
Hey everybody, still loving this phone and its diversity, but have flashed this little piece of hardware with the mb 4mb/6mb wm6 rom only to find that WIFI can't even be turned on!. And yes I've downed the fixed versions from a certain forum. When I turn on WIFI, It just gives the symbol in the top straight away. It just can't find the networks. I even manually added a network, it then tries to find it, but simply can't. WEIRD hey.
Is there a solution for this problem, cause I really, like the look and feel of the wm6 roms over the wm5 roms.
bye all and thanks in advance for the kind replies.
Did you try using WiFiFoFum at all to see if it can find networks? I have not had any issues with WiFi with the Most Beautiful edition whatsoever. Only thing I notice is that when the machine first turns on or right after a soft reset that I need to click the comm manager icon for wifi twice before wifi will turn on. Otherwise it finds and connects to networks perfect.
Problem with MIE
i have no problem to connect to my homenetwork with WIFI, but i cannot access the internet with the internet explorer. but it works perfect with the opera browser!
hmmm..
It's weird...
I never access the internet with the internet explorer even my wifi was connected successfully while I brushed wm6 rom.
A miracle has happened Today.
I install a WIFI Device for WM5, that one is simple Chinese language.
I tried to turn on the wifi but not work.
Then I uninstall it -> restar....
Then I tried one more time to turn on wifi, ok, it's work to connect but still can't open the web page.
I check the wireless lan, switch the power save mode to best performance.
Then....I can open web page????
Wow~~ I don't know it work cause the wifi device change something or just swtich to best performance.
Maybe you guys can try.
(Sorry to reading my poor English)

oops, double-posted

internet/data issues with flashed tilt

I flashed my tilt to an htc rom and I'm now having problems getting on the internet. Is there some place where i could find a cab file with at&t settings or anywhere I could find the settings and enter them by hand. thanks
still looking. thought I found a solution but it was for hermes.
try this network config...
thanks a lot. that seems to have done the trick.
turns out it didnt fix the problem. i can connect to the web via PIE but for some reason I can't get either gmail or windows live to connect. I don't know why it would work for some but not others.
Same problem
I am having the same issues too. IE and outlook mailbox can connect without any problem to the internet. Gmap too.
However, I am having problem with fring and skype applications. Anyone experiencing this issue?
I have flashed my Tilt with the original HTC Kaiser rom.
i think i might have the solution for ya...change the isp.cingular to wap.cingular
I'm having all sorts of problems, too. Very odd. I don't understand how it can work one minute, then not the next.
One thing that has seemed to help is to use the advanced configuration tool to keep the connection active all the time.
It's under Connections > Connection Always On.
Keep in mind, I had to choose MEdia Net. When I chose "My ISP GPRS", I couldn't connect at all....
I'm having the same issue. I didnt notice it until now with Fring. Over WIFI it works, over 3g it says cannot find internet.
I checked and my settings are already on the wap.
So other ideas?
I've also been having intermittent luck with the settings on my TILT flashed to HTC ROM.
One way I got around it for a while, was to connect to Pocket Internet Explorer to get the connection setup, then hop on Google Maps/MS Live Search/etc.
I also had this problem with MiniMo and Opera for a while. Eventually it all just worked itself out I guess. Also, make sure your 'proxy' settings don't get messed up. Sometimes I'll go into the connection settings and the "This connection uses a proxy" is checked... I'll go back in later, and it won't be. Not sure what the conflict is.

Here is a solution.
When you create settings using the Wizard it puts 2 connections. 1 MY ISP and the other MEdia Net.
GO to Settings -- Connections -- Connections -- Advanced -- Select Networks -- First drop down box make sure that My ISP is selected then click ok up top.
Try it and see if it works now.
If it doesnt select MEdia Net as the default connection and edit it, remove proxy and see if it works now. If still no luck remove MEdia Net from one of the connections, by managing existing connections tap and hold and then click delete. Then set MY ISP as the default connection in advance --select networks.
Good Luck.
That took care of it..
Actually what took care of it was going into the media net settings and unclicking the proxy settings..
It was using a proxy to connect but no server in the box. I clicked and whammo works now!
Thanx
same issue
Just wanted to mention had the same issue (particularly with skype) and made the change mentioned further up in the post about changing the connection setting from isp. to wap. and now skype works like a charm, thanks!
please help me aswel

help ASAP

my problem is my webbroswers *both IE and Opera* does not connect to my cellar internet but only wifi
every other internet app works, Youtue, google map, etc Myphone seems to partly work but i think get stuck when sync'ing my contacts could be a bug with myphone so am discussing this with they expert team
so can anyone expalin why my web broswers is not working?
P.S Skyfire Beta works
Device = ATT Fuze
Rom = NATF v4.4 Fuze Edition
I've never had this problem, but then again never flashed one of NATF's roms. Try posting this question in the NATF rom thread. Good luck
every rom i tried this happen, atomic, NATF, Monex, etc
go to connection settings turn off the proxy check box
proxy is off, i dont like using proxy i live NYC by the way
What have you tried to solve the problem?
A soft reset?
Maybe you have nodata running, or forgot to activate the GPRS/3G connection before uninstalling it.
i tried 3 different rom, soft and hard reset, i tried the hidden proxy cab and remove proxy cab, tried manually setting the proxy, changing the default connection in the connection setting and all seem to not work
I must say this is a problem I haven't really read about yet (new to posting on the forum but not from reading)
If you do install nodata (cab on request), maybe you can check if the phone's data connection is enabled?
Maybe there are other factors then the forementioned program that can affect that setting.
It is a weird problem however, since other apps do have internet...
What if you start GoogleMaps to get the connection going, then open the browser. Does that let the browser connect?
it is very strange and what is this no data cab u mention
i have also used skype and it works, it kinda sucks that am limited to one broswer and thats skyfire, since its a beta also its not the greatest, my only other option is to turn on the wifi, connect to a access point and then it works, other than that i get opera nor IE to work which is very puzzling
also when i tap my h icon in the task bar it says am connected to medianet but it doesnt load

Nodata is an application that detects (GPRS/3G) dataconnections on your telephone and can switc them on or off.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=151212&d=1233148782
Because the other apps on your telephone do have internet, the chance of this thing working is very slim.
Good luck tough...
youtube is processing my vid, i will post the link a lil bit later
and i dont think that nodata stuff will work due to the fact that it might actually detect a internet connection like the rest of my applications but wont be able to figure out why just IE and Opera dont work.
ok as promise here is the link to the vid
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAAqYWGATRc
look to the end of the vid where u see i put the wifi on and try to load opera and it works

Ok, I didnt see a connection setup wizard on your phone? Did you run that on setup during the initial boot over your phone. I would recommend running that again....I really didnt see it, which is odd did you do something with it?
Second, when you went into connections...then when you see media net click on proxy settings, make sure there is a check box on this network connects to the internet. and make sure the next box is not checked and there is nothing in the box....
this is a fuze edition rom so i guess thats why NATF left it out since fuze is orginally att. and is proxy a must cuz i tried using proxy before but it didnt work.
cant someone help me?
try going to your comm manager and disabling your data connection. This should disconnect you. After that, re-enable it and see what happens.

WiFi problem

Hi
Im havin a problem. In my office my HTC Prophet detects a Wifi signal and it connects to it very easily. But there is no browsing available.
Ive talked with our IT Department, they said they placed no restriction on use of WiFi and ours is an unsecure network. I gave a proxy in settings but still in vain.
My Rom details are in my signature.
Im looking forward to your help
Regards
Hey,
Have you tried connecting to any other wifi network?
Delete the settings from your prophet and try again.
Ive never had problems with wifi browsing with that rom. Does the connection work for any other apps that need internet, like weather?
Proxy settings shouldnt be needed using wifi??
Thats a good idea, ill try it on another network
Ive deleted all the settings n tried again i-e even mms and gprs settings
I gave proxy but it was in vain

yh dont even bother with proxy, its not needed for wifi, same for deletin mms and gprs settings lol... are u sure its not secured? That seems pretty slack for a company wifi lol.
Yup, its slack
Ive deleted all my settings and still no use
My colleague is running Wifi & browsing net with his nokia E-60, this means there isnt any problem with the wifi.
Yup it isnt secure, but im still unable to access it
can you update the weather using your wifi?
Did you look at Vincents thread for the rom to see if there are any problems?
No, weather doesnt update
Ive seen his thread whose link is in my signature, but no use!
ok asking the obvious now but just to check, did you hard reset after your flash? Did wifi ever work using your current rom?
Might be worth trying a reflash, backing up first of course
Yup, I did hard reset and WiFi worked after I installed this ROM on my Prophet
I think this must mean that there is a software clash with an app you have added, or registry is messed up. Have you tried deleting cookies etc in your browser? Your using Internet Explorerer yes? have you tried Skyfire out of interest?
Might be time for a hard reset...

Hi,
Do you have your device connected with a cable to charge or sync ? It might be you did not check the box in AS to allow wireless connection while connected to a cable...
Dirk
Hmm
I havent tried deleting cookies and skyfire
Now ill try all of the above and report back!

{REQ}Keep HSDPA Always On

I am having trouble with my 3G/HSDPA connection with the HD2. I have a plan with unlimited data and I am not worried about battery life. The problem is that the phone seems to disconnected after a while from the 3G+/HSDPA network and then the only way to get any connection(whether it is for a weather update, email, or internet browsing) is to close all data connections and then reopen them. I think that there might be a reg key that is timing out the connection but I am not that skilled in this. I would really appreciate if someone could help me out in figuring out this problem.
HTC HD2 ROM: AxLor LEO v3 WWE
Manilla: 2.5.19211619.0
Radio: 2.07.51.05_2
first you can try to manually select the network type (gsm or wcdma) and band frequency. for this go to comm manager. then go to connection settings - advanced and enable hsdpa only, then soft reset.
if this doesn't work try to change the radio.
as a last resort, you need to experiment different rom-radio combinations to make it work.
I had this issue also for a long time before I finally nailed it with my current configuration.
good luck mate!
Thanks, I am trying that right now. I also had kinda "nailed it" but then I was having other problems with the rom and decided to change. lol I am going to try different radio/roms if that doesnt work. btw thanks for the quick reply
I had this problem too. Check the connections used...by right there should only be 1 connection for your regular usage. It's the multiple connections that causes the data to stop working, at least for my case.
For example, my network provides 2 connections, one direct to internet, the other has a proxy. However, the default Opera browser always uses the proxied connection for some strange reason, while the other services (Weather/Twitter/etc) uses the direct connection. When the 2 connections are active simultaneously, I find my data going dead until I disconnect the proxied connection.
To get around it, I go to the about:config page in Opera, under Network, tick the "Conn Mgr Auto Detect Network". After that it doesn't uses the proxied connection anymore....but some of the default shortcuts in Opera still do that iirc.
In short, for me, disconnecting the proxied connection makes the direct connection work fine....hope this helps ya.
hey kenkiller, if you're still having trouble with the connection try antaed's method it seems to be working for me. btw I only have 1 connection so that wasn't it for me .

No worries...I've already set mine to HSDPA only as I've noticed that having HSUPA on only makes the download slower...but it doesn't cut the connection off as you've said, at least for me.
Glad you solved it.
Thanks . I am just glad that there are people that care about the phones they buy and such a great website to bring them all together
