Orbit 2 - CoPilot 7 Problem - Touch Cruise General
Just got my Orbit II with CoPilot 7 but it will not install correctly. It just hangs, saying that it is integrating. I dont think i'm the only one, so does anyone have a solution?

Did you get it with 02? If that's the case you need to put the SD Card in and then let the device configure itself. I didn't have to install CoPilot it was done automatically for me.
Other than that, I would just suggest a backup and hard reset.
Hi,
I had the same problem.
I ordered the Orbit II with Copilot and when it turned up there were 2 boxes.
Box 1 had - phone etc, 1Gb memory card with copilot s/w on along with registration card and cd with Copilot central, car charger, car cradle.
Box 2 had - 1Gb card with copilot s/w on along with registration card and cd with Copilot central, car charger, car cradle.
When I put the memory card from Box 1 in I got the same problem with it freezing on Integrating Updates.
The Memory card from Box 2 worked OK.
Looking at whats on the 2 cards I can see thet Autorun is missing from the directory 2577 on the card from Box 1. There could also be other files missing.
It seems strange to me to get 2 lots of copilot but it looks like the one in the box with the phone is not complete.
Andrew (first post)
That's interesting. I also received a 2nd set of MicroCD, cradle, car charger, activation code, etc. It appears that the folks on O2's Corporate Affinity hot line don't know that the handset already comes bundled with Copilot and all the accessories.
I paid £61+VAT for the phone (upgrade from Orbit 1) and £31+VAT for Copilot. £36 seems reasonable for software and accessories, so I'll install it on my old phone and give it to the wife.
BTW, I've had no issues with CoPilot, both 1GB cards worked fine and so does the 2GB card that I transferred from my old orbit.
Well I got one large box with two boxes inside. One contained the handset, booklets etc and the other contained a cradle. I only received 1 SD card and like already mentioned there is no 'autorun'. I tried downloading it again using the CP7 disc supplied but there was no difference.
I've mailed copilot but as of yet no response.
Maybe I'm just an idiot as I'm struggling to put the craddle together
There are two boxes but all are part of a package. Mine was installed already so I didn't have to install anything i.e. it worked out of the box.
I do remember it asking me whether it should run the 02 setup thing though, maybe that installed it for me.
i also got my new orbit 2, had the same problem with it hanging up, only 1 card in the box, relaoded with CD still having problems!
I have again tried to download the correct file/CAB but still I can't install CP7
Cab files for installation should be located in the '2577' directory under the root of the microSD card. You should be able to browse to this directory in explorer and double tap on the 'copilot.wm6ppc.cab' file to install.

I had trouble putting the cradle together as well - though I was going to snap it but in the end went together ok.
I also had the problem with co-pilot freezing. However, I had tomtom on my HTC Wizard so have installed that instead. However, i've read that it might be something to do with certain directories being read-only. Backing up the card and then reformating (using a card reader and pc) then copying back the files has worked for some people.
Solution The Problem!
Hello Peeps...
I also had the so called 'integrating updates' message....sorted out the problem....but personally i think it can be done in an easier way....
Today I went to the alk website for downloading Safety Camera update as for some reason mine was not activated. There I found a link to download the updated version.
For peeps who want all the answers here....click on the link for the file
http://www.alk.eu.com/files/v7/safetycam.zip
Also found out that the file safetycam.ezp which was supposed to be in \Storage Card\Copilot\EU\save was in \Storage Card\Copilot\save. Anyways I just downloaded the zip file and saves it in \Storage Card\Copilot\EU\save. Disconnected USB connection, clicked on Copilot to run again and Mwah! it says integrating updates......BUT THIS TIME it did work and now I have my safety cameras also.
Let me know if you still have problems and I will post what I had to do to rectify the fault. The reason I am not posting that is because of the lengthy procedure and above is a hunch which one of you can try......do not worry....if you have the DVD for the copilot every file can be restored in the microsdcard.

If you are having problems with it hanging on the "Integrating Update" screen, try soft resetting the Orbit II, browsing to \SD\CoPilot\EU\Save and deleting all the files starting with AO (AO*.*) and ENCRYPT.DAT. Does this get you passed the "Integrating Update" message?
If not, try deleting AO*.*, ENCRYPT.DAT and the two files starting with POCKETGPS*.* and then re-launch CoPilot. Does this work?
Well, still no reply from ALK support and O2 don't know what to do either about the problem. I just dont know where else to go as this has me beaten at the moment. What I cant understand is why this problem would not effect every O2 Orbit II device if its a software/compatibility issue. I'm wondering if there has been a dodgy batch of installations on some SD Cards.
tried your technique Kutts 123 but still got the dreaded message.

Co Pilot Rules:- Deleted all files starting with AO*.* There was not a file titled ENCRYPT.DAT in the directory. Also with the Pocketgps files removed, it did not work
MusicArt1st, so even after deleting the AO*.* files and POCKETGPS*.*, do you still get the "Integrating Update" message and it hanging there?
Can you describe what you're seeing?
If it's still hanging either on the CoPilot splash screen, or on the Integrating message then either the micro-SD is corrupted or the ROM is corrupted.
I would suggest you try:-
1) Uninstall CoPilot from SETTINGS | REMOVE PROGRAMS
2) Soft Reset
3) Verify your date/time is set correcting on the Orbit II
4) Install CoPilot from \Windows\copilot.wm6ppc.cab
5) Delete \SD\CoPilot\EU\Save\POCKET*.* and SAFETY*.*
If that fails try to
1) Re-format micro-SD as FAT32 in Windows using a card reader
2) Download Quickstart using Central DVD
If that doesn't work try
1) Perform a hard reset on the Orbit II which will re-install CoPilot with a clean ROM image (but you will lose any data or contacts you've put into the Orbit II)
http://www.hardreset.eu/htc_touch_cruise_polaris_hard_reset_soft_reset.html
It sounds like either the ROM is corrupted or maybe the micro-SD card is corrupted.
Let me know if any of the above fixes it
I just bought one today and had the same problem. However a quick search brought up the following forum
http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/htc-polaris/14336-o2-orbit-ii-copilot-7-problem.html
Last response provides instructions on how to get it working. Appears that there is something corrupt on the card and requires formatting.
You then need to download the maps. A little long winded but it does work.
I think I've gone and blown it now. Copied the files from the SD Card and then re-formatted it to FAT32. Went to transfer the files back and would you believe it... I have managed to permanently delete the folder 2577 and its contents. Went to the CP disc and found the maps which are a staggering 244MB.
I wonder what to do next other than throw my toys out the pram.. and I'm not even able to create an account with ALK as I apparently dont have an internet connection???? may be the ALK servers are down or something? I dont suppose anyone would be able to share the contents of the CP SD card for me to try again. I dont think tht would infringe on any copyright issues as I have my licence?
Thanks to you all for helping me this far
'M'
Don't copy the files back.
Go into the Copilot central on your PC. Make sure you have registered and go to the create a map tab. Then select country from the left. Select your country - I presume UK and Ireland. Then you will be asked where to save the maps etc. Make sure you have the memory card in a reader attached to your pc and you should be able to select it from a drop down. This should add all the files and folders you need.
Also, you will need to go to their site to download the camera sites file.
Hi Folks. I've used CoPilot since V4, and actually had V7 European maps which I had bought from ALK. When I went to transfer the system to my new Orbit 2, instead of the red CoPilot splash screen, I got a blue O2 one - now note - I hadn't put either of the cards supplied by O2 into my Orbit! So somehow, some of the program must be pre-installed. I also suffered the same integrating updates problem the rest of you have had, but also a silly problem which ALK had been investigating on my old Orbit 1. Eventually, I told ALK that my installation must be corrupted, and I wanted to do a clean install. I removed CoPilot from the Orbit 2, using 'Remove Programs', and then reformatted a spare 2Gb card in a reader. (Don't do this in your PDA, or it will take forever.)Then go to CoPilot Central, and follow these instructions:
http://www.alk.eu.com/files/manuals/V7ppc-DDW.pdf
This allows either Uk, or European maps to be downloaded onto your card.
Now install the card into your Orbit 2, and CoPilot should start. When mine did, I was back to the original red splash screen, and all problems were fixed. Active Sync your PDA, and log into CoPilot Central again. There ais a new speed camera database available, some new voices, and a new theme. All these will download on request, and install. Start up CoPilot on your PDA, you will see 'Integrating Updates' and then everything will be installed properly.
I suspect from my experiences, that perhaps the memory cards supplied MAY be corrupted somehow, but also that O2 are 'interfering' with the normal, clean installation, and that may be having some bad effect too - don't forget that my CoPilot installation was turned into some 'O2 Partner' version without any new card being even near my Orbit 2.
Hope this helps...
At last, I've got it working, so many thanks to all those who contributed to this post.
What I did was format the sd card then opened up the CP central and installed the maps from there onto the card. I tapped the CP logo on the Orbit and hey presto it worked. I must point out that I was not able to create an account from CP central as it stated there was no internet connection (but there was).
CP7 must be pre installed on the device itself.
Thanks All

Many thanks for your advice! I was one of the unfortunate ones with the same "integration" problem. When I phoned up o2 helpline, they said it's not their problem! So now I've got the program up and running, except it's having a hard time locating me! Well, another problem for me to work out.
I don't know if you could help me with this one, but my box came with one 1gb microsd card. In the instruction booklet it says that it should come with the adapter to mini and regular SD, but this was not included in my little plastic case! I was just wondering if its standard, or just me having an unlucky run! Thanks in advance.

Help me and my m500
Ok. So theres shed loads of manuals, ideas and programs to do this but with one common floor i have no SD card reader. How the hell can i get Bigstorage 1.12 on my phone ? i did a hard reset then when orange started addin its rubbish i soft reset. I now have a file in My Pocket PC dubbed "Extended_ROM" inside is all the files orange has obviously lined up to install. Now from what i understand when these initiate on a reset they are made invisible and data from rom put to storage. Now that i have them visible is it possible to delete them ? As i cannot get 1.12 on. Unless anyone has any ideas as to how i can get round my problem. i have downloaded all necessary software but have simply come a cropper.. Quite new to the site and to pda so your help would be most appreciated. I note that many guides advise the initial copy from your rom to the new one. Is the a cert ? COuld one copy this from a default orange rom downloaded from xda ftp ? or is it handset specific ? As i believe this would sort the problem!
you could do it through another device which takes SD cards otherwise you can get a cheap reader under a tenner. regards

No backup solution works when a major base upgrade is attempted. I have cabs for all the apps I run on my SD card along with spb p+ backup and voice dialer recognition file backups. Then, I go through a list I've written out & install everything by hand. Pita for sure but I can get through it in 1-2 hours.
I cook in my own settings by doing diffs and regdumps before flashing. Makes my life much easier. The level of expertise to do so isn't much more advanced than cooking your own rom and creating your own OEM package w/registry dumps. Hope this helps..
I use PocketPC Installer from here http://www.pocketpctoolkit.com/WhatIsIt1_PPCInstaller.php The PocketPC Installer is unique. Simply drag'n'drop your PocketPC / Windows Mobile .cab file & data files into the PocketPC Installer, and it will compress all of your files into two types of self-extracting Installer files. { "lightbox_close": "Close", "lightbox_next": "Next", "lightbox_previous": "Previous", "lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. You could put this one file as a download on your website, or put it on a memory card. The user would just need to insert the memory card into their device to install your suite of .cab files / data files. An installer .exe file for your Desktop This is an .exe that you run on your PC, which also contains compressed copies of all of your .cab files/other files within it. This .exe will copy your files onto your device, and start installing them. Let's have a look at an example. Here, we have dragged a total of 6.9Mb .Net CF / application .cab & data files into the PocketPC Installer. Two types of compressed, standalone installer .exe files. You just have to decide which of them is more useful for you, and ignore the other. Click to expand... Click to collapse

Me personally... i have made 1 big cab file to do all my dirty work.. its about 3meg in size.. but it sets up my email, rings, sounds, apps, etc... what i did with **most** apps was extract them from their oem cab and put them in my cab.. so i have 1 cab file that does almost everything..
I too have all my cabs on the storage card in three folders - Apps, Games, and Setup. In my setup folder are cab's that I have created (or pilfered) to do my favoured reg tweaks, and some backup files for individual apps (like PocketBreeze, Movie Guide, an OPML file for RSS feeds, etc, etc.) These get installed straight after flashing a ROM. (I need to get round to doing what shogunmark has done and collect these all into one cab though...) I install other cabs as I need to use them when I'm out and about (all of the filenames have my registration numbers added to them). Oh and before I flash any ROM, I add my personal WIMP package to it - that populates the "Owner Information" with my personal details, and installs and registers the "Where is my Phone" application.

Few weeks ago I upgraded from Helmi's rom to Custel's (wanted to try that new AT&T radio out). I installed all my app's and tweaks, but started having SOD's. I flashed back to original rom in between, flashed back to Custel's rom and installed all apps and tweaks again... Again started having SOD's (this install was my fault that i didn’t test enough is the SOD problem still there, before installing my programs). Ok, then i thought i flash Dutty's nice lite rom. Flashed that and installed all my programs and tweaks AGAIN... And now the best thing, I’m not kidding; at the same moment I got everything installed FINALLY, I refreshed Kaiser upgrading page on XDA and there it was, A NEW IMPROVED VERSION OF THE DUTTY'S LITE ROM... For real i was cursing out loud!!! Then i just thought, F*CKIT, i have been installing for Saturday and now Sunday too, my GF is totally pissed off already, no harm of doing this once AGAIN… No flashing for me until major upgrade comes out… Kaiser is now running smoothly though, no problems at all.
I'm using CabviaActivesync which is free and allows you to right click on any cab and automatically send it to the phone. Makes it quick. http://www.modaco.com/content/Windo.../CABviaActiveSync-FREE-Edition-now-available/
Right now, I do everything manually but I am also looking into creating one big cab file with all my software in there.
Truth be told, I do the 'cab' backup folder on my SD card like most of you do; and I end up setting everything up through the next few days as I notice things that are not how I like them. ie: turn off Txt Message Sent notification, reinit touchflow, slide sound off, put all my contacts BACK into the fav contact list, reassign pictures to them, etc.... So, I'm basically in the same boat; as soon as I get it JUST the way I want it, I reflash it. We are all victims I tell you; victims of our own progress.
Cabs on your SD card is the way to go. I just downloaded pocketpc installer and used it to install a lot of cabs... and I must say, I am impressed. I'm going to keep my cabs on my SD card (just in case), and but use my new installer after flashes. w00t!
wonder if PPC installer can allow serial key inputs so that **** can be pre-regged
jakeypoo said: wonder if PPC installer can allow serial key inputs so that **** can be pre-regged Click to expand... Click to collapse Interesting thing about that...Spb software used to install a fully regged version when you put your serial in the installer prompt...so then I'd just capture those CABS and never have to worry about it again. But now they've gotten wise with their new versions and all putting your serial in the installer does is writes it to your registry if your device is connected...*sigh* Ironically as best I can tell the serials aren't tied to your name/device in any way (for Spb software) so its not exactly like they're combating piracy since all it'd take is one person releasing their serial number and everyone could use it. Anyway...*grumble grumble* I miss the days of having all pre-regged cabs...
I tend to copy my startmenu/programs folder of shortcuts to storage card. Many applications run without installing so in preserving their shortcuts, you save alot time. Those in main memory which i have to install again, i keep as cabs. Also i use iLauncher (other launchers like spb pocket plus etc also can do the same), the icons linked to the shortcuts on storage card, i save its configuration file. After a new rom, all i have to do is install ilauncher, restore my settings and i'm almost set to go. Have to re-key in all my serials again tho.
Reflashing Phone - what are your essentials?
Just curious what peoples essentials are on this unit? I have been having problems with my handset for some time now, and the memory card *appears* to be corrupt. So doing a back up of all call logs, messages etc, and going to hard reset. I will then attempt to update it to 6.1 *wasnt working before* My Requirements? Internet Sat Nav Games Clean Theme (like a nice subtle black) Alarm Back Up Utility So What would you guys recomend for the above and what cool features/tweaks can I do with this phone?
Just read my signature. I think most members here would agree with my choice...
excuse my ignorance, but i see WWE is just the same as an HTC rom with the latest software, is this correct, no other changes? Secondly, I currently run an 02 ROM, would i notice many differences and how would i go about getting my internet settings (Currently there is an application that retrieves these for me) Hope you don't mind the silly question - I did read the info but couldn't be sure.
hello i would say 2 apps i couldnt do without are no longer hosted on here but are g-alarm and g-profile found at www.ageye.de Also if you want to 'risk' flash (read this) 3LIT3 as i was running the o2 6.1 rom since release till about a month ago and although it is better than the 6.0 rom it is much faster the 3LIT3 rom is superior to the official releases that have been made. Also on the settings front i was afraid of this and made sure i had them before i flashed but then they are installed automatically in customisation (with either officail or 3LIT3). Sat nav i am guessing that you are using copilot in which case there is a releated piece on how to do this when you download the o2 rom from their site. Back-up utility i would say either spb backup - but i have heard of problems going over from 6 -> 6.1 roms with using backup software so i say sync up before and copy any import docs that you have on their before you go to flash. Hope that answers the questions
Well i managed to flash the unit with some interesting measures. Long story short, I couldn't get into boot loader (Still can't) but when i ran 02 6.1 rom RUU it took it to the bootloader (just vista wouldn't work) so after some hunting i found a driver which worked, well sort of lol. And then it worked, well for the 02 6.1 release any way. Tried Co-pilot still having issues, Tried memory card files, still problems - i think my memory card is knackered and some of copilot is configured there so will explain why this is failing! Co-pilot was on the rom, presume that if it did load i would have to re-register but think i might opt for tomtom now, was never a fan of copilot. Other than that i ran PPCPim backup which works really well for calls logs, messages etc. had no critical documents on there but did forget to back up my pictures - oh well no real loss! Is there a way to format an SD from the device its self?
I have got to say i am NOT impressed with 6.1 from 02 its so slow! my ringtone doesn't even play properly. Edit jesus this is rubbish, i mean seriuosly really buggy have i done something wrong because they couldnt have put this out as RTM surely?! please some one tell me i am wrong. My ringtone stutters for goodness sake, i clicked data connection and the connection tab is now overlaying everything and won't go away!?

The problem is I cannot transfer anything else to the memory card, I cannot install apps to the memory card. Sometimes it looks like they have transferred but when i open storage card up on the device it's just the normal settings and nothing that I have transferred. This is limiting me hugely, I cannot put mp3's, mp4's on my phone, I cannot install games, I am left with just the basics. Im going to buy an 4GB card today and see if that resolves things
HD2 Copilot SD Card Files
Hi, Apologies if this is in another thread but I cannot find anything that matches my request. I just upgraded my ROM from T-Mobile 1.43 to the Generic 1.66, and as a bonus now have the ability to try out Copilot (not included on t-mobile version) The downside is that I also do not have the files from the SD card (again t-mobile don't include them). Could someone either put the said files/folders somewhere I could grab them or help me track them down. I don't believe I am asking for anything illegal here. I just want to test the software and may indeed purchase if I like it but as things stand I cannot. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks!
Start Copilot, register for the trial and you will receive the option to download the voice files and maps you want to. It is recommended that you use the use either WiFi or ActiveSync, since the maps aren't that small. If you didn't get the option when you first started Copilot, you could delete the copilot directory on your storage card or just go to download from the options panel.
[Q] [HELP] My ZTE Z730 is corrupting files saved to the SD card (among other things)
Dear helpful peoples and fellow forum-goers, I have a ZTE z730 and I'm in need of your assistance! Okay, for starters, whenever i install an app (from the play store) and it can be moved to the SD card, it moves it there all by itself... the problem with that is, for some unknown reason, that app will not work! It won't even open and instead force closes every time... if i try to move the app back to the phone (as soon as it's installed), it won't let me... (this, however, did work at least once...)... The other issue I'm having is that anything, (and i mean ANYTHING) that i download or try to save to the SD card, be it from the browser, an app or even just backing up the apk file from an installed app (i use SuperToolbox+) gets corrupted... I use the app Stumbler a lot and if i download a pic or a gif off of that a notification pops up in my status bar and if i tap on it immediately and view it with the gallery or ESFile Explorer's image viewer, it is fine but it corrupts it after a short period of time... Another example of this is when I download a video from YouTube using TubeMate... the video will get downloaded but will become corrupt and/or deleted within, say, 5 minutes! It will say that the download has finished but when I go and try to find/view the file it isn't there! (And, yes, I'm 110% positive that I'm looking in the right folder!) I have tried factory resetting my phone and also formatting the microSD (which is fairly new and a class 10) and that fixed the problem for a day or two... but then it went back to being all wonky again... I have also tried starting my phone in safe mode and then attempting to save some images and that seemed to fix the downloading problem but not the app problem... and I'm running out of ideas... Can anybody shed some light on what's going on or how to fix it? I've tried searching (on here and with google) for every sort of search string combinations to try and find an answer or even someone else who's also having these problems, but came up with nada... (I'll give you a list of all of the various strings I've tried if anyone is interested.) and I'll try any (serious) feasible suggestion you might have! If you need any other info than what I've posted, just let me know! Thanks in advance for any assistance you guys might have! KanUDontKno said: Dear helpful peoples and fellow forum-goers, I have a ZTE z730 and I'm in need of your assistance! Click to collapse Hi, Have you try another MicroSD card to see if the issue persist on that card? If not, give a try. If you have tried another MicroSD card and the problem still persist, might be the problem comes from your phone.
Unfortunately, i don't have another one... but i will try to borrow one from a friend of mine. I don't have to reformat the card, right? Sent from my Z730 using Tapatalk
Whelp... I believe it's actually my SD card that is faulty... I borrowed and old (smart)phone from a friend of mine and put the 32 GB card that was in my phone into it and when I tried to move an app to the SD card, (with my friend's permission, of course) it immediately borked that app... then I tried to install an app that I knew had installed itself to the SD card automatically on my phone (and thus corrupting it) and it (the Play store) gave me 3 different errors : First it said that the package had a bad manifest, then it said it couldn't parse the package and finally it told me that the app could not be installed to the SD card. Being the curious little monkey that I am, I searched the market for SD card info tools and installed SD Insight. Upon running it, I find out that the manufacturer is listed as "invalid" and it records the size of the card as being 34 GB... also, the OEM/Application ID is shown as "Unknown: 0"... all of which make me highly suspicious... I'ma gonna go do me some further research and see what the haps with this card... maybe see if I can return it... we shall see... In the meantime, thanks for your help! I'm just glad it's NOT my phone! Can I get a mod to change the title tag to "resolved" (or what-have-you) or is this something I can do myself? Live long and prosper all!
