Database Info

O2 XDA Orbit 2 Very much a bad GSM connection!

Has updated German O2 XDA Orbit 2 on the English version. After that communications or not or very weak signal. Tried to update all radio:
Polaris Radio 1.58.21.23
Polaris Radio 1.58.25.14
Polaris Radio 1.58.26.20
Polaris Radio 1.64.06.04
Polaris Radio 1.64.08.21
Does not help. Has updated original German insertion - has not helped. Has updated Russian - has not helped. Help what to do?

I've the same issue in Belgium with the Proximus phone network.
Updated with last WWE ROM and everything but gps was finie. I then decided to update ROM radios to see if I could get a better GPS signal. Since then, I've got with all radio ROMs a very weak 3G signal.
Any idea?

Search the forums people... there's been loads of complaints about "Reception difficulties" "Bad reception" "bad signal" ....
Might want to try this: go to your phone settings, switch the top phone option from auto to GSM and NOT to wcdma. This might fix your issue.
Lock this thread when your done.

Have you gone to Settings->Phone "Band" tab and set another of the 4 band options? (this is on the BEPE 0.67 ROM, not sure if it is on the release ROM though)

Hi everyone. I recently got an o2 Orbit 2 on a UK pay monthly contract and just decided to start playing with some ROMS. I read all the instruction, flashed the ROM and everything appeared to work just fine except now, batterystatus tells me that I have 34% signal strength (which is normal for where I am) but I can't get a connection to the o2 network. I've tried every single radio rom from the collection listed in the Polaris upgrades area but nothing seems to work. So if anyone could help me I would be over the moon or if anyone has a copy of the original o2 UK radio rom that I could flash my device with i'd love to hear from you.

i had the same problem...flash murata radio and everything will be ok
if you don't want the hard reset just use udk's custom ruu or flash the radio from microsd renaming the ruu_signed.nbh in POLAIMG.nbh (your device must be hard spl and in bootloader mode).... micro sd must be formatted in fat32 or it will not work

I've now flashed my orbit 2 with the murata rom and got a connection to o2 immediately but now i don't seem to have working bluetooth. I'm using udK's latest diamond rom for the touch cruise. Could this be the problem?

try to download the bt fix from the first post of udk diamond rom's 3ad...i have this radio as you can see in my signature and no issue with bt

"Murata Radio" - to my mind only the one thing which can help us. By the way, Polaris is one of the top models of HTC. Then why on earth we have so many problems with it? GSM, Bluetooth, video etc.

Any errors?
1. Hard reset,
2. Flash again,

2 different wm6 rom
flashed a few times same resolt
it's funny only contact doesn't work
when flashing wm 5 it does work

Flash a new ROM. Hard reset after the flash is done, and then see if the problem is present.

[HELP !] Kaiser Orange + schaps 4.31 : no network

Anybody please Help !
Yesterday night I flashed my Kaiser with HardSPL 1.1 then Schaps 4.31.
Everything went fine, after reboot I found myself in the expected purple theme, I did a hard reset, a little bit of config and... and nothing ! No network, couldn't connect to Orange network
I tried manual network config, schaps assistant, no way !
Radio is 1.27.14.32, hint : camera works fine (I read in the forums that network and camera are linked, sort of...)
Can anybody help me ?

No other radio yet, the only other 6.0 I have is 1.27.15.32, I will try it but at present I'm at work and i can't disable the anti virus, which I think is not recommanded while flashing...?
... maybe I can flash the radio with a SD ? (no PC environment problem then ?)

You can find radio only here (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser_Radio)
Why don't you try WM6.1 ? There's many very good one here.
Anyway if you want orange rom there's one. Look at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=414238 where you can download French or English Orange Rom WM6.1.

I was tempted by 6.1 but I want a french one and the only I found are ansar's and noThrills's.
I have no return on these ROM's behaviour on Orange in France and I thought it was best to start playing with a localized ROM.
May I ask which one you are using ?
If I'm stuck I may try the recently released official Orange 6.1, but I'm borred with Orange's crap stuff.

Currently i use Hyperdragon III (4/8/2008)(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=397121). It's in english, but It's the best rom i found (i have tried many of them...). Maybe one day a cooker will be able to provide an HyperDragon in french ...
Since have a "Ten by Orange" abonnement the only thing i can't use it's EasyWeb (it's just OperaMini with startup page by Orange/Ten) and WLMail a java client for Hotmail.
But the rest work ok.
Internet work very well with (IE, Opera 9.5, Opera Mini...) and to have access to the OrangeWorld portal there's one thing to do about the "User Agent".
About the mail i can install the cab from ten by orange and use their tool to configure three mail box....but you can look at your mail with Opera (by ex) if you have a webmail (GMail, LaPoste.net, ...).
About tchat you can use the MSN Messenger (but the one provided by the cab from orange (3169.cab for the Kaiser)).

PS : Since Opera build 1780 i can access the orange portal with Opera 9.5 (i think it can use the user agent from IE now)(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=401643)

Do you have any problem with keyboard and french ? did you use the registry tweak to make it work with french azerty hard and soft kbd ?
Meanwhile I tried to install radio 1.27.12.17 : no success.
I'm now trying new Orange 6.1 ROM, hope it'll work...

At last !!!
The Orange 6.1 ROM works !
First it means that my Kaiser is not bricked , then it also means I can try other ROMs and feel safe because I should be able to restore a working config, nice!
BTW I'm still with hardSPL 1.1 (AT) does anyone know if I can keep it or should I move to 3.28 since I now have a 6.1 ROM ?

I've seen this behavior couple of time,
I just had to enable the plane mode and redisable it... Radio was back !
(don't really know/understand why, but it did the trick)

This is interesting to note, matter of bad init ? I'll try it if it happens again with another ROM, THX sebbes.

I woke up to a similar problem today, different rom and radio though.. I was running ROMeOS and 1.58.25.17, woke up this morning to no signal. A few soft resets and 2 radios later, still no service. Any ideas? Was working fine yesterday.

Sigh, also just hard reset. No difference.

About the keyboard :
Software : I have buy a soft keyboard named VGAKEY (http://vgakey.net/web/index.php?enhome) The price is about 3€ ) it work very very well and support many many languages.
Hardware : Using Shap Advanced Config you can put the keyboard in french.
I'm looking for a french dictionary for the keyboard now

I was having the same error and SD flashing did the job for me. However I can't guarantee if it would work for you cause it involves using something from the radio rom on your device (which is non-existent in your case).
If you want to give it a shot anyway, here's a guide:

Try starting from step number 10.
Another idea that someone proposed to me when I had that problem was unlocking the device, but my device was already unlocked so it did nothing. If yours isn't unlocked (or if you're uncertain) you might want to give that a try as well. You'll find an unlocker in the FTP under Magician/Unlock/ (accessing the FTP is explained in the linked guide).

Phone freezing, dont think its spl issue

I have flashed winmo 6.5 on my phone. I have radio version 1.70. I have hard spl version 3.29 flashed. I did flash a stock HTC rom to my tilt before flashing shifu's 4.0 rom to my phone. I did do a master reset on my phone also.
The problem is every once in a while my phone freezes or hangs severely. It seems to happen only when I access messaging. It only does it occasionally. When my phone freezes it will either hang for five or more minutes but I can stil access the start menu, or it freezes completly and I have to yank the battery.
I have tried different 6.5 roms from different people all with the same results. I have also tried doing numerous hard resets. I have tried disabling 3g and hspda. Im kind of confused as to what to try next. I would like to keep 6.5 but this problem is getting old.
I also have a coworker that has a wing that I unlocked and she is using on the ATT network as well with 6.5 and hard spl to. She has the exact same issue.
Any help would be great.

Had the same issues with several 6.5-roms myself.
Experienced a lot of freezes and sometime it could not be resolved without reset.
Several times a soft reset has become a hard reset.
I always has flashed stock rom before a new flash.
I need my phone to work well, so yesterday I went back to a fast 6.1 rom (G's DK10final),
and at least for now the phone seems much more stable and responsive, and works well with all applications .

just same typicaL probLem witH me.. I used siFu 4.0 WM6.5 and it GettinG Freeze at the menu option.. and tHen I FLasHed it usinG uLtimate X2 V.11 WM6.5 and same probLem Hit me as weLL.. SO i decided to FLasH it usinG stock ROM WM6.1 ( OriGinaL Version tHat i Got From HTC website ).. aFter it FinisHed tHen i FLasH my kaiser usinG siFu V.19 WM6.1.. and it run weLL and stabLe in my Tytn.. So, is WM6.5 is uncompatibLe witH my tytn..? Hmm... i wonder.. i don't know.. FYI i usinG SPL 3.29 Hard2 and Radio 1.70.19.09..

Thanks for the answers guys. I havnt been able to find an answer to this issue. I did my coworkers phone as well that is having the same issue but she has a wing. I am also using hardspl 3.29 and radio 1.70 as well. I've been contemplating going back to ATT's stock rom minus ATT crap. I guess tonight I will be doing that. Ill post result on here for archive purposes in a couple days in case anyone else has this issue and stumbles on this thread.

I have been, both ATT and HTC stock before flashing. No help. Also did hard resets after stock flashes two before flashing 6.5 and after flashing 6.5.

I use WM6.1 modiFied ROM and i pLeased witH it peFormance ( tHanks to siFu tHat created tHis ROM^^ ) and i am not try to upGRade it witH WM6.5 stock ROM 'cause i'm to Lazy to experience same probLem aGain >.< stuck is suck dude.. ^^
