Thanks in advance!
Maybe you have to use two mini to normal USB converters and a regular usb cable, think this is a lot cheaper as well.

Hallo,

I'm using a standard usb to mini usb cable and it fits and works fine. The HTC cable with a square end won't fit a standard mini usb port but a standard mini usb connector fits in the Diamond.
Great, it works !
I should have read your post before buying a new specific USB cable for my diamond.
Strange decision from HTC !
@KIEN
Thanx bro
Not that strange. The connector can be used for audio, for which you need a special HTC connector and also for data, for which you can use a mini-USB connector. Well played.
I always sync my device using a regular USB cable. However ive seen that if i move the phone while it is syncing sometimes the syncing stops. I think its because regular cables doesnt attach as firmly as the original one does.

omfg... maybe i am too stupid or what, but i didnt even thought about putting regular mini usb cable into diamond. But, it work.
You just saved me a lot of money for two new cables and a car adapter...
i cant believe so many people didnt realise!!!
maybe its just me who has tons of USB cables lying around...
Does anyone know if I purchased one of these can the Transformer then read memory cards or use other USB peripherals?
no one has tried yet, try it for us and find out!
I would if I had the tablet. If it does it would be a major plus.
Well we know for a fact that the 40 pin connector that is used to hook up the tablet to PC and charger through USB allows for USB host, we just don't know if it would be so simple that all we have to do is use a female to female converter.
I would think that it would work, because that's how you transfer files to the tablet. Not sure about peripherals though. If this does work it would easily make this better then any tablet.
if I can get myself to put down the money and if someone posts a link I'll try it.

I meant usb female to USB female since I don't have anything with microUSB just wanna test host.
Just bought http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BSN4UY female to female adapter, I'll test USB host I guess
The tablet only has a micro, so I guess I don't understand why you would buy that item.

The tablet doesn't have a micro port, it has a proprietary 40 pin to USB male cable with a proprietary 40 pin socket. So you need atleast reg female to reg female to get host at the minimum.
Never mind just figured it out. You are going to use the micro usb cable that can with the tablet and hook up the female to female. Sorry.
I thought the tablet did have a micro usb host?
only ports are the proprietary connector used for hooking it up to the PC/charger/dock and mini HDMI out. But the proprietary connector supports USB host.
NEED HELP FINDING A CABLE.
I need it to be about 5-6 inches.
It's for a project I am trying to do.
The one I really need is....
Female mini usb to male mini usb, No adapter just a cable
like this>>>
Cable in picture is:
Micro USB Male to Mini USB Female Adapter Converter (9CM-Length)
I would search/call MonoPrice
Agreed I use http://www.monoprice.com all the time
Female mini usb to male mini usb.
Female mini usb to male micro usb.
but the length of the one in picture.
I looked all over the web and, I don't think they make that cable!

Perhaps it is your search terminology? I Googled Mini USB extension cable and found plenty of results, one of which lead to this forum. If you find one that is a little long USB is very easy to shorten, just 4 wires
hey everyone, so i have been reading around and there are alot of people talking about the usb extention for the asus transformer.
Here is my thought: what if you used your existing usb charger/data cable and then but a female to female usb adapter on it? this has just been in my mind for a while and i saw that the adapter would cost around 3 instead of 20 for the asus branded one.
has anyone tried this or should i just get the adapter made by asus?
For $3 why not just try it and let us know?
I'm pretty sure this will not work, since the adapter has additional circuits to put the tf in usb otg (on the go) mode, which is the usb host functionality in plain english.
Yo will need an usb 3.0 cable. It won't work with a normal (2.0) one
As alluded to above, 2 different things.
The usb3 cable is an extension, the adapter is a hub (adding usb to the tab).

Hi,
I'm trying to use the iRig UA Accessory with my LG G5, I'm connecting by an OTG Micro USB Type B to Micro USB Type B cable with a Type C adapter.
Sadly, the iRig doesn't turn on and is not recognized.
When using the same iRig on PC or Nexus 5, everything is fine. Does anybody know what's wrong here?
May it be caused by the adapter?

The B Micro to C adapters are for charging only.. you would need a Type C OTG adapter and a standard B micro to Type A cable (like used to a normal computer) to hook it up.
Edit: Tested a normal USB sound device (Cmedia based) usb audio works.

Great! I tried this solution and it works now. Didn't think that it can make such a huge difference. Thanks a lot!

Glad to help . Perhaps some day someone will make a Type C OTG direct to B Micro cable that will make your device setup more streamlined.
