How-To Flash the HERALD-USPL-beta3:
Download and extract both files.
Place the extracted Open Touch v2.5 Biggy.nbh into the Herald-uspl-beta3/RUU folder.
Move the entire Herald-uspl-beta3 folder to the root of the c:\.
Follow the simple readme file.
Break down of how to flash this rom:
Then follow these steps:
II. How do I flash an NBH file?
a. USPL
Step 1. Download Herald-USPL-Beta3. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A4N36HLO
Step 2. UnZIP the file into a folder on your Desktop. Let's call it "MyFirstROM" for simplicity's sake. Notice that there is a folder called RUU within this folder now. Keep that in mind.
Step 3. Download your NBH file and unZIP or unRAR it into that RUU folder. Make sure that that NBH file ends up in the RUU folder, not within a folder inside the RUU folder.
Step 4. Place your phone into flightmode.
Step 5. Go back to the MyFirstROM folder and then run USPL.exe
Step 6. Follow the directions on the screen. EXACTLY.
* Your screen on your cell phone will go white around the 75% part of the "second step" now.
* ActiveSync will LOOSE its connection.
Step 7. One step 3 on that black window, the RUU flasher will pop up. Just follow the steps.
That's it. Welcome to the flasher's world.

Disable Random Access and Enable Scrolling
With random access you must do the following to enable contact scrolling.
Click on the contacts button at the lower right hand side of the screen.
Click on the Menu button
Click on Options
Uncheck "Show alphabetical index
Click on the ok button to exit
Now I know the following will sound strange but it will enable scrolling in the contact menu.
Repeat the following steps again, and the random acess bar on the right handside will go away and scrolling will work again.
Click on the Menu button
Click on Options
Uncheck "Show alphabetical index
Click on the ok button to exit
If you want to enable random access, just go back and uncheck the "Show alphabetical index"

How to turn off QuickMenu
/Start/QuickMenu/Exit
It will prompt you with "Exit QuickMenu?
Choose yes and it will not startup again even after a reboot.
Things to do after flashing your device:
Network Wizard
Go to \Start\Settings\Connections\Network Wizard
Choose your location and provider, do not reset the device when prompted.
Connections
Go to \Start\Settings\Connections\Connections
Once completed save and exit
Touchflo
Go to \Start\Programs\TouchFlo
Click on the TFSettings
Choose your view mode from the drop down menu and if you want sound while scrolling then check the Enable sound, if not don't worry about it.
Click ok to save, do not reset your device.
Go to \Start\Programs\TouchFlo
Click on Touchsettings
This part has already been filled out for you, just click on the save button to exit.
This step is needed so please perform it...
Now your ready to reset your device.

Send Large MMS:
Registry: HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI\Size Limit
Key: wap2sendlimit1 (you can also change wap1sendlimit1)
Default: 307200
New Value: 1228800 (1200K)
Registry: HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI\Size Limit
Key: sendlimit3 which will be set to the default of 300k. u gotta change it to 1228800 and than the 1200k will appear.
note u can also change sendlimit 2, 1 to be the same as what ever u decide to change wap * sendlimt* to be. once u do this the 1200k will appear.

Set the new value by going to Text/Multimedia --> Menu --> New --> MMS --> Menu --> Options --> MMS Options --> Servers --> T-mobile MMS

WM 6.1 is faster then WM 6.0 plus it has SMS threading...
v2.7 was WM 6.0.

Please Read Things to Know:
This Rom has not got midlet manager so you need to install one before trying to run any midlet applications.
You just need to Flash Rom, hard reset, wait for customisation to finish.
To activate cube please run Ftouchflo.config in Touchflo Folder and enable Ftouchflo in general tab. To de-activate the cube just do the reverse.
Run touchflo.config in Touchflo folder and untick in general tab touchflo this will ask you to soft reset your device. after soft reset you can then re-align your screen. to activate cube again just enable ftouchflo in touchflo.config again.
Reason is there is a conflict with ftouchflo running which stops the screen alignment configuring properly

How To Enable BBC CONNECT TO THIS ROM
Install instructions:
1) goto hklm>system>versions and change what ever is there to .0.4.2 (The leading . before the 0 needs to be there)
2) Install bbconnect cab file.
3) If you don't get the check boxes at the end of the install (Calendar, notes, etc). Re-run the install (it will remove the 1st instance), I always get it the second time.
4) Wait for Blackberry to finish "setting up device for first use" and let it reboot.
5) On reboot, status will now show the PIN number.
6) Open the Blackberry connect desktop application. (Make sure you have access to your corporate e-mail) If you do you will see "Configure Wireless Device" as active.
7) Plug in the Tilt and wait for Activsync to finish syncing and says "connected".
8) In the BB Connect desktop application hit the "Configure Wireless"
9) When finished unplug Tilt and soft reset.
10) You should be good to go at this point.
- Get BBconnect cab file from: http://www.america.htc.com/mobile/connect/8925/
- Make sure your remove all ActiveSync synchrnonization in Comm Manager -> Active Sync-> Options for your PIM.
- Install cab and run blackberry app
- Go in PIM tab and selct all PIM items you want to sync with

Office moble 6.1 is already included in the Rom, I tried the new htc album but its not a new one when you extract it, its the first version plus an extra file which I think gives you the search option and also its in chinese.
for now I will stick with the latest official version.

Which Radio does this one require? I update to the .14 for your tilt ROM and just need to know if I need to change the radio back.
This is just htc variant only so if you got the new tilt radio you will have to downgrade.

Guy's I'm currently uploading the TouchFlo version first my internet bit slow. I will upload the non-touchflo version afterwards.
this most probably be my best rom to date contesting with dutty's hybrid no4 final so no.5 is so much noticeable on speed and stability even on the touchflo version I'm flying through.
Remember this is a NEW BUILD and CE OS so there might be bugs.
ALL BUGS from previous build have been ironed out. I left in the 6 comm manager button If there is problem with this I will replaced it with 10 comm button in the next releae

Please Read Things to Know:
This Rom has not got midlet manager so you need to install one before trying to run any midlet applications.
You just need to Flash Rom, hard reset, wait for customisation to finish.
To activate cube please run Ftouchflo.config in Touchflo Folder and enable Ftouchflo in general tab. To de-activate the cube just do the reverse.
Run touchflo.config in Touchflo folder and untick in general tab touchflo this will ask you to soft reset your device. after soft reset you can then re-align your screen. to activate cube again just enable ftouchflo in touchflo.config again.
Reason is there is a conflict with ftouchflo running which stops the screen alignment configuring properly

How To Enable BBC CONNECT TO THIS ROM
Install instructions:
1) goto hklm>system>versions and change what ever is there to .0.4.2 (The leading . before the 0 needs to be there)
2) Install bbconnect cab file.
3) If you don't get the check boxes at the end of the install (Calendar, notes, etc). Re-run the install (it will remove the 1st instance), I always get it the second time.
4) Wait for Blackberry to finish "setting up device for first use" and let it reboot.
5) On reboot, status will now show the PIN number.
6) Open the Blackberry connect desktop application. (Make sure you have access to your corporate e-mail) If you do you will see "Configure Wireless Device" as active.
7) Plug in the Tilt and wait for Activsync to finish syncing and says "connected".
8) In the BB Connect desktop application hit the "Configure Wireless"
9) When finished unplug Tilt and soft reset.
10) You should be good to go at this point.

About This Rom:
1. Most of these graphics have been extracted from a PDAVIET ROM and edited to get this look. [Thanks for the authors of this amazing look]

Maybe i can't judge them right, but my first impression was omg ugly! The native Touch skin looks way more professional. I know this rom is "home-made", but that doesn't mean it should look home-made, right?
But besides that, great work on the roms! I'm running Dutty's No.6 now and its real good!

Upgrading form Dutty's n0 2 ROM
Hello Dutty,
looks like you have been very busy again!
I have n0 2 so far and was looking to isntall n0 6, but thinking I might as well go to 7 directly.
However, I wanted to tell you about some small problems I had with n0 2 and ask whetehr those might be fixed in this new release, and also a few suggestions:
The Keyboard option in Shcap's configurator is not sticky. I have a French keyboard (Orange France Kaiser), but every time I reboot the keybaord is back to default, so I need to go to the configurator to set to French layout again.
I have setup an outlook account, and I have a very strange bug where menu -> New does not do anything. It just does not display the submenu to create a new message. A workaround is to go to reply-> forward and send wahtever you need to create a new message. Not the best.
I cannot navigate the HTC home plugin with the track wheel, and have to use the D-PAd instead if I want to use buttons to navigate the Home plug-in. I installed Shcap's ROM before and was able to use track wheel to navigate it.
Are you going to allow the std HTC stlye as well as your new look?
Could you consider adding a few extras from SJ extra packages just posted, in particular threaded (PALM like) SMS, and some of the extra gizmos like new PDF viewer, backup, task switcher,...

I Have taken out shaps config out the rom as everything doesnt apply to kaiser for now awaiting for the new release when shaps release it.
I can confirm particular in this rom the outlook works when you select new.
the extra packages I'm not sure of, as i feel I got everything in my rom so far as usable for a first person flash

I didnt include it, I tried to tidy up some of the apps, as you can use the pim backup to back up sms,
If its a majority vote to put sms back in I can do or create a cab for it

Download and extract both files.
Place the extracted Open Touch v2.5 Biggy.nbh into the Herald-uspl-beta3/RUU folder.
Move the entire Herald-uspl-beta3 folder to the root of the c:\.
Follow the simple readme file.
Break down of how to flash this rom:
Then follow these steps:
II. How do I flash an NBH file?
a. USPL
Step 1. Download Herald-USPL-Beta3. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A4N36HLO
Step 2. UnZIP the file into a folder on your Desktop. Let's call it "MyFirstROM" for simplicity's sake. Notice that there is a folder called RUU within this folder now. Keep that in mind.
Step 3. Download your NBH file and unZIP or unRAR it into that RUU folder. Make sure that that NBH file ends up in the RUU folder, not within a folder inside the RUU folder.
Step 4. Place your phone into flightmode.
Step 5. Go back to the MyFirstROM folder and then run USPL.exe
Step 6. Follow the directions on the screen. EXACTLY.
* Your screen on your cell phone will go white around the 75% part of the "second step" now.
* ActiveSync will LOOSE its connection.
Step 7. One step 3 on that black window, the RUU flasher will pop up. Just follow the steps.

Disable Random Access and Enable Scrolling
With random access you must do the following to enable contact scrolling.
Click on the contacts button at the lower right hand side of the screen.
Click on the Menu button
Click on Options
Uncheck "Show alphabetical index
Click on the ok button to exit
Now I know the following will sound strange but it will enable scrolling in the contact menu.
Repeat the following steps again, and the random acess bar on the right handside will go away and scrolling will work again.
Click on the Menu button

Uncheck "Show alphabetical index
Click on the ok button to exit
If you want to enable random access, just go back and uncheck the "Show alphabetical index"

Go to start, settings, systems and tab clear storage. Be sure you backup all your files on your storage card or you pc.
Then just install the ROM and your done.

am guessing pim backup is included in this rom so you will just go to pimbackup and restore all your contacts to your phone from your sd card...

Download and extract both files.
Place the extracted OTP v7.1.nbh into the Herald-uspl-beta3/RUU folder.
Move the entire Herald-uspl-beta3 folder to the root of the c:\.
Follow the simple readme file.

II. How do I flash an NBH file?
a. USPL
Step 1. Download Herald-USPL-Beta3. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A4N36HLO
Step 2. UnZIP the file into a folder on your Desktop. Let's call it "MyFirstROM" for simplicity's sake. Notice that there is a folder called RUU within this folder now. Keep that in mind.
Step 3. Download your NBH file and unZIP or unRAR it into that RUU folder. Make sure that that NBH file ends up in the RUU folder, not within a folder inside the RUU folder.
Step 4. Place your phone into flightmode.
Step 5. Go back to the MyFirstROM folder and then run USPL.exe
Step 6. Follow the directions on the screen. EXACTLY.
* Your screen on your cell phone will go white around the 75% part of the "second step" now.
* ActiveSync will LOOSE its connection.
Step 7. One step 3 on that black window, the RUU flasher will pop up. Just follow the steps.
That's it. Welcome to the flasher's world.

Disable Random Access and Enable Scrolling
With random access you must do the following to enable contact scrolling.
Click on the contacts button at the lower right hand side of the screen.
Click on the Menu button
Click on Options
Uncheck "Show alphabetical index
Click on the ok button to exit
Now I know the following will sound strange but it will enable scrolling in the contact menu.
Repeat the following steps again, and the random acess bar on the right handside will go away and scrolling will work again.
Click on the Menu button
Click on Options
Uncheck "Show alphabetical index
Click on the ok button to exit
If you want to enable random access, just go back and uncheck the "Show alphabetical index"

Key: sendlimit3 which will be set to the default of 300k. u gotta change it to 1228800 and than the 1200k will appear.
note u can also change sendlimit 2, 1 to be the same as what ever u decide to change wap * sendlimt* to be. once u do this the 1200k will appear.

M2DC
Just tried the M2DC theme manager on 7.3 Std, with a renamed .zip file to .m2dct file (specifically the KnobiSkin from the M2D skin thread).
First time, it locked up. M2DC continued with spinning icon until I forced a reboot. Touchflo was off after reboot, and after enabling it everything appeared to be the same.
Second attempt, I disabled Touchflo from today before applying the new theme. Got the "Applying Theme" prompt. After M2DC closed, I reactivated touchflow and new theme was applied.
Simple instruction for use of M2DC Themes on OTP 7.3:
Find a skin you like, download the zip file (not the cab),
Rename file to .m2dct,
Copy new file to the themes directory of the M2DC install directory,
Disable touchflo in Today settings
Start M2DC,
Go to themes tab (the first time it will back up the default theme),
Click the new theme then apply,
Restart touchflo.
Alternate for creating themes from skin CABs:
Run M2DC first, let it make the DefaultThemeBackup.m2dct file, Close M2DC.
Run the CAB skin of choice.
Rename DefaultThemeBackup.m2dct to OriginalTheme.m2dct (or anything else with same extension).
Rerun M2DC. It will detect no DefaultThemeBackup.m2dct and will ask to back up again. Let it make new backup. Close M2DC.
Rename new file to the name of the new theme.
Repeat for each skin CAB you wish to convert to m2dc theme file.
Note: The M2DCT files can be large (over 3Mb, 660 files backed up). Best to do this only if M2DC is installed on a large Storage card.
Note 2: Several times M2DC appeared to freeze when applying or backing up themes. It looks like it has problems if touchflo is not off prior to running. It does try to deactivate touchFlo then reactivate when done, but it doesn't appear to work flawlessly yet. It is better to deactivate the Today plugin before running M2DC on this ROM build.
Note 3: New mods to theme support in M2DC released today (Sept 30)

Well, when you test this rom you will have a lot more space left over.
Lets say around 25MB+.
Once I strip it down more I hope to have it working with something close to 30MB or more.
Oh, I forgot to say that you will still have the standard programs but not as many as on the biggy.

The rom I cooked today has 33MB storage and 25MB of programs.
But I just ran into some minor issues with the build during my use today.
Over all the rom is working great and the interface is not that slow either.
i just wish our wings had more ram and rom...and a faster processor

It's funny but I like the wing better than my bros tilt.
There are less issues in my mind, but then that just me.
Not saying that the tilt is a bad phone, I just like the wing better.
As for the memory its plenty for the omnia interface.

Folks,
I know I said that I would be back on 1/2/2009, but due to hard times in my life that will not be possible.
I'm going through very hard times in my life rite now and rom cooking has to come in second place for now.
The few months off from rom cooking did make me realize the most important things in my life.
I love cooking roms since I feel that my roms some how or another make a difference in peoples lives.
That means a lot to me but then again it's just a hobby and I have a real job and life that I must take care of first.
I've fallen behind on my tech certs in the past year since my mind and time was spent on cooking roms instead of updating or obtaining new certs.
Now I have to spend the next six months trying to catch up on the things that I've missed or have fallend behind one.
This is not a good bye, but a delay, I will be back once I've completed my CSSP.

I no longer own a wing/herald but will continue my work until this version has been completed and all major bugs have been resolved.
To be on the safe side, please make sure your device is HARD-SPL before flashing any of my upcoming upates.

You don't want touchflo?
Or do you mean 2D, since touchflo is required for scrolling.
There is a lite version without 2D and it's in the mirror folder provided by coburn_c.
oh ok otp 7.6 lite no netcf thats the one im flashing now

Okay, I just wanted to make sure.
i have been reading for an hour and a half about net compact framework. have yet to decide which method is easiest. of course i want the 3.5
wonder why you didn't include it???
input as to which method of installation is easiest??? anyone???
this one seems to be working great installed Office, googsync, sms and mms is working

Just search for the cab and install it.
I did not include it since there are many people that wanted to install their own stuff.
A lot of older apps due not support NETCF 3.5 and thats the main reason I did not include it so they can install NETCF 2.0.
I hope that answers your question.
Please remember that its very hard for me to make everybody happy.
Thats the main reason I cooked so many different versions.
I could have just cooked one version and left it at that.
