Hi all - 1st post so be nice
I'm in the market for a new Smartphone and at the minute, the fore-runner is the Orbit 2 as it has everything I think I need to replace my current phone & PDA / GPS.
My car has the Ford BT kit installed and I was hoping that someone can confirm if all the expected functionality works when paired - as the Ford kit is made by Nokia, it favours those handsets and whilst Ford publish a list of 'tested' and approved handsets, there are no O2 / HTC ones listed. Unfortunately, I don't have an O2 store close to me so that I can borrow a device to test. I know that Bluetooth is a standard but as we all know, there are differences in standards between vendors.
Thanks in advance.
Maxi
I know it's not a Ford, but my my Orbit 2 works exceptionally well with my Audi. I've had loads of problems with Nokia's on it, and the Orbit 2 has been perfect. Very fast to sync phonebook too.
Good luck!
I will check this for you tomorrow. My Mondeo has both a Nokia CK-7W carkit and the bluetooth Ford stereo fitted.
Both have worked with any phone I have tried so far, so the Orbit 2 should be OK.
Thanks guys - I'm fairly confident that it will work as expected but there's always that 5% niggle that it won't. Could turn into an expensive mistake if it didn't !

hi i have a fod focus 2 with the bluetooth kit. I am using an orbit 1 and have no problem pairing and using the device so i gues there wont be any probs with orbit 2.
regards
papa
I tried mine today and works fine both on the Nokia kit and also the Ford bluetooth stereo
Brill - thanks for your time guys. Makes that 5% uncertaintity go away...
Now, just need to find the best deal to buy one.

Hi there Maxi_pack.
I have one of the "new" Mondeos with integrated Bluetooth.
I had a Nokia 6021 before and that worked perfectly over Bluetooth showing all my contacts, calls in and calls out. It’s disappointing that this does not work with the O2XDA Stellar. I am in discussion with O2 about it. I haven't asked Ford yet, only looked at their list of "tested" phones on which I see the XDA Orbit and XDA NEO are listed as able to display contacts via Bluetooth.
http://www.ford-mobile-connectivity.com/overview?id=8&cradle_support=1&box_id=1
Note : it "pairs" with the Ford Audio and allows me to receive calls and make calls using voice-dial or via the XDA keypad but it's really annoying that the Contacts will not display on the Mondeos colour display!!! :-(
I notice the XDA Stellar has something called SAP (SIM Access Profile) for other devices to access its SIM, but I guess the FORD Bluetooth doesn't utilise this otherswise it would probably work OK.
Sparky.
they show on mine on the radio display

Hi I am having trouble with this headset not detecting calls coming in or allowing me to switch to it while on calls!
I can use it once after bonding with the phone, and then thats it, it will not work anymore. It does beep if I turn bluetooth on or off on the phone, so it does detect it but it will not recognise calls anymore, unless I turn the headset off completely and On again and reset it and rebond, sometimes just turning it on and off is enough but not always.
Anyone else experience this? or have any ideas that may help?
I am using Rom version 1.72 and the Headset is revision R1B...
I am just not sure whether I should return the Headset or complain to imate?
As you know the XDA II does not support handsfree mode sadly, and if you have your Bluetooth device set to handsfree mode and not headset this causes problems answering your device.
This goes for the use of the bluetooth button with Nokia Cark-91 kits, they can bond, they will allow you to dail out and tranfer the call but answering the call can be tricky even on headset mode
Look at the manual for your HBH-35 and see how to set headset mode.
If you can't set it then I would take it back for a refund.
Look for an alternative headset, you shouldn't have to pay more than £65 in the high street now for a suitable headset.
If you do have problems finding one, I am importing 100 headsets from supplier in far east. These will work with your XDA II gaurenteed... Cost is £35 + P&P ( will ship world wide)
Details:
1. Clear voice, sound volume can be adjusted freely
2. Attractive appearance, many colours for choice
3. Powerful battery, standby time 120 hours and talking time up to 6 hours
4. Three different designs for spare earplug of SPEAKER
5. Light weight, less than 16g
6. Ear-hook can be taken off, without any influence on wearing
7. UK wall charger (like nokia phone charger) & car charger included.
I am looking at combinded USB/car chargers as accessories
Hi
I use an HBH-65 with bluetooth tools, it works really well, I can answer icoming calls and dial the last number from the hedset button.
I tried the HBH-35 before I bought the 65 and it worked perfectly, again using bluetooth tools.
Cheers

I had lots of problems with the Plantronics M3000 doing exactly the same thing on my Ozzie 1.66 Rom XDAII. Now have Hello 2 headset that seems to be working well after a day.
Very comfortable too. At a little over A$130 it seems like good value compared to the other items on sale here.
Hello everybody,
Has anybody have tried the Kondor Bluetrek Bluetooth headset (especially the G2) with XDA2??
I've tried searching in the forums but seems nobody has mentioned it before. Just want to know what are the PROS and CONS of the said headset.
According to the reviews, its a great headset except for the fact that the ear clip can break due to major mishandling, but I haven't seen a review by somebody using XDA2.
I saw it in a shop (here in the Philippines) and I liked the style immediately. Price is also not bad Php3,500 (around US$60)
Hi yes, I have a Blutrek G2 headset and it works with my QTEC 2020 (XDA2 clone), I also use a TomTom Bluetooth GPS also and this works fine to.
I can even recieve calls while navigating with TomTom 3 with both Bluetooth devices on!.
Hope this helps you.

Has anyone used the vodaphone v1415 with BMW's bluetooth phone kit?
I am getting an E91 (3 series touring) this week and am interested in knowing if the phone will work fully with the BMW kit.
It should pair OK but I'm not sure if the car radio will display the phone book allowing hands free dialling.
BMW do not provide snap in adaptors for the phone which allows the phone to charge and connect to the car ariel.
Any feedback would be appreciated
Hi,
good news for you - the HTC Vox works fine with the Business Bluetooth Phone Kit (in Austria its SA633) in the BMW E91. I use this phone now for three days an noticed no problems with it. The pairing worked well and all of the contacts are transmitted with all phone numbers to the phone kit. The only thing to say is that each telephone number is transmitted as own contact sorted by first name. But in difference to the HTC Trinity which I have used before the speech quality is quite fine with the Vox.
Thanks for the reply - good news indeed.

v1415 & BMW BT
Back on topic.
I am pleased to confirm that the v1415 works great with the BMW BT. Paired without issue and syncs fully with all my contacts.
Hello to all you out there.
I have been the proud owner of a desire for about eight months now. I just got a new car, Hyundai i30, and i am planning to put a BT carkit in it. Can anyone tell me about their experience with, preferebly, parrot carkits?
Tnx
I have a parrot MKi9200. Reasonably happy with it, less so with parrot support.
Sync works, iPod play works as advertised. Software is a bit buggy, but nothing problematic. I recommend you get a good installer for it, though
I also have a parrot MKi9200 and works very good. Also with the HTC Wildfire from my wife.
as mentioned get a good fitter or someone who knows what they're doing. the i30 isn't to bad to take apart to run cables.
hi, got a parrot ck3100, good sync, adr book and stuff to phone but not a2dp (so no music through it).
I also have the 3100, and it works like a charm with my desire (latest radio and cm7).
Syncing and connecting with phone are automatic, voice dial works and parrot is easily updateable with a bluetooth connection. And above all, voice quality is perfect
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I've got the CK3100 and (as people have mentioned above) it works well with the desire.
A minor issue: GB roms appear to have a problem with BT where the phone doesn't immediately switch back to it's phone speaker when the connection to a headset/carkit is lost. I believe this is is GB issue. I've never experienced it before I started using GB roms.
Also, as people above have pointed out, it's probably worth getting a system that supports A2DP audio playback too. I'm using a separate Tunelink device for that.. and it works. But using two separate BT device to connect to the one Desire is a bit awkward.
I am using a PARROT MKi9000 with my Desire.
speech recognition is nearly perfect.
I use it for streaming music/audiobooks over the car-speakers, too without problems.
Installed it by myself without problems. Plug & Play.
Regards,
chrrh...

9200 is the best you can buy imo, does it all(at least all that you can expect from a car kit), and parrot releases updates frequently.

Hi there,
I use the MKi9100 in my Fiat Grande Punto and it works very well with my Desire.
I wouldn´t recommend to use the music playback function via bluetooth, though, as the sound quality kind of sucks...
Yeah, listening music throw bluetooth really killing me))
I should always choose between quality or battery life
Hi,
I am having troubles with my mobile network provider for some months now.
I got the Galaxy R and can't use it with my bluetooth hands-free kit. bt pairing is ok but the audio quality is such bad that it's not possible to understand anything.
I tried the following:
SGR + Volvo hands-free = pairing and connection OK but very bad audio
SGR + parrot hands-free = same
Both hands-free had the newest firmwares from manufacturer.
I tried the device from my friend, a SGS2 which seems to be pretty similar to the SGR
SGS2 + Volvo hands-free = crystal clear audio
SGS2 + Parrot hands-free = same
My conclusion was that my SGR must be defect. I went to the Samsung support and they flashed a "new" firmware (it was the same I already had). Still same problem. Then I took the phone to my network provider (Austrian 3, www.drei.at) and after some weeks I got back a new SGR from them. Again the same troubles with this device. My network provider refuses to swap my SGR to a SGS2, even with a extra charge. Now I'm pretty angry about this **** Galaxy R (sorry )
I have the newest Kies updates installed on it and everything else than hands-free is working.
Does anybody has a similar problem?
Any tips or suggestions?
If not, my next step would be to give this case to my legal protection :-( but I am still hoping...
Edit 1:
Additional Version infos for the SGR:
Samsung Galaxy Royal
Modellnummer: GT-I9103
Buildnummer: GINGERBREAD.XWKI5
SW-Version: Android 2.3.5
Basisbandversion: I9103NEKI1
Kernel-Version: 2.6.36.3-I9103XWKI5-CL577705 [email protected]#3
Hi!
I have 2.3.5 version in my SGR and I have no audio problems with my nokia headset, toshiba headset, motorola stereo headset and ford focus V2C free hand. The synchronization is better than with my old nokia X6, but audio is louder with the nokia, specially with V2C free hand.
If we count that volvo accesories are nearly the same as ford accesories (ford was the owner of volvo until august 2010), we can expect that your volvo free hand has a bluetooth 2.0 nokia module, 100% compatible with our SGR. In the parrot, you can find exactly the same nokia bluetooth module if it was maded before 2011 (parrot changed to another brand in some free hand models).
I suggest to try another device with a different bluetooth brand module. Bluetooth stereo headsets are really good to test that, specially if you use them in a crowded place, with a lot of possible interference. You don't have to buy ones, you can go to a big electronic store, like Media Markt or Carrefour(I don't know where are you from but here are the biggest ones) where you can try different headsets with your phone. If you play a high bitrate song loud and it is not crystal clear audio, your device has a problem and you can use the warranty, or try a custom rom to fix it...of course, loosing the warranty option.

thanks for your post
1.) I tried two SGR with two different hands-free kits. Both were not working with both devices. With a SGS2 I had no problems with both hands-free kits. I'd say that there must be a problem with the SGR.
2.) I'm from Austria(Österreich) a german sproken country in Europe. My provider is called hudchison three (drei.at). Both, the shipped image and the KIES updated image are both not working.
Is it possible to flash for example a standard ROM from Germany over my austrian drei image?
What do you mean with custom rom? I didn't found any for the SGR. Just some custom Kernels. Nevertheless it would be very risky for me to loose the warranty when still having troubles with it.
I use the sony ericsson mw 600 without any problem, and exellent sound
If you don't want to lose warranty, as I said, I recomend to you to go to a big electronics store like Media Markt, where you can find different bluetooth headsets and try them. If you have not really good sound go to samsung service and tell them what is your problem. I know this is not a solution, but without touch your phone it's what you can do, because an incompatibility problem will not be cover by the warranty, but if you prove that your bluetooth has a general problem it must be repaired.
If you decide to taste some kernels, or the new InfectedRom to upload your android version to 2.3.6 you can ask to the developer if it fix your problem. If not, if you have made a backup of your hole device, you will return the virginity of your phone, but you have to read a lot to do all this things if you don't know how.
I don't know anyone from Austria with a SGR from the forum. You can try to find another users to see if they have the same problems. I will probe mine next sunday in a parrot free hand from a friend that has a SGS and it works really well.
Using the sony ericsson mw600 as well, works great, even gets track names if I use the stock music app
