French blogger Korben discovered the vulnerability, which you can see an example of in the video at the bottom. The exploit involves simply texting the seemingly harmless “=” symbol (without quotes) to a handset, which then causes the smartphone to turn off and reboot.
One supposed solution to this problem is to just install an alternative message app and stop using the one that comes preinstalled with the smartphone. However, Korben has found that the problem can still persist even when switching over to another ROM. This suggests that the bug is actually coming about from a combination of software and hardware issues, or something inbetween, that is only affecting a small selection of MediaTek based manufacturers.

Password Reminder is an application targeting users that forget their passwords.
Some info about the app:
~Alpha stage, NOT secure enough for main usage!
~All data that user inputs (except the pin to unlonk the app) is synced to a cloud powered by Firebase.
~You can sign up/sign in with your google account or by creating a new account.
~From the side menu 'Settings' and 'Dashboard' are unavailable at this stage.
~There are no Offline Capabilities.

Question SECURITY THREAT: I am finding Dual apps on my phone that I have never installed

Samsung has this Dual messenger feature that allows you to have two running instances of your messenger and social media applications.
Today i started seeing in my apps list in settings a bunch of "Dual" apps that i never enabled and are just there and I cant uninstall them and some I cant even disable.

The only legitimate one that I enabled was whatsapp
I am afraid the security of my device is compromised, and I did a threat scan in the settings, it scanned all my apps, but weirdly it did not scan those dual ones which is making me become more sus.

That is normal. They are needed for Dual apps to work.

Dual Apps feature enables a secondary user on your system which starts with User 10, 11, 12, etc.
Each time a new user is created, some system apps are automatically cloned to the new user environment.
So, don't worry. Your system isn't infected and this is no security threat.
