Default Opera input.ini - General Topics

I accidentally messed up part of my input.ini file and can't find a copy of the original online. Opera comes as part of the stock ROM (x7501) so I don't have a CAB I can just reload.
What I am looking for is in the [Browser Widget] section; what is the mapping for "Enter"? When I have a link selected now, and click Enter, it does not follow the link. Stupid question, I know, but any help would be appreciated.

[Browser Widget]
Left = Navigate left
Right = Navigate right
Up = Navigate up
Down = Navigate down
6 = Page up
9 = Page down
3 = Go to start
Enter = Focus form | Activate element
Tab = Focus next widget
Tab shift = Focus previous widget
Space = Page down
Space shift = Page up
PageDown = Page down
PageUp = Page up

Just out of interest, has anyone found a way to use the wheel to zoom? I don't want to use the keyboard all the time (A, B, C etc.)
Looking at the input.ini file I don't see how you can customise that.

DirectShow Camera Control On TMobile Shadow

Hi All,
I am using DirectShow API for fetching camera contents on T-Mobile Shadow phone (manufacturer is HTC). I am having problem with the default Camera Zoom factor on this phone (when opened using DirectShow). I am trying to control the Zoom factor using IAMCameraControl interface. But I don't get any valid pointer for IAMCameraControl Inteface by using following code =>
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
long camera_flags = 0;
long zoom_val = 0;
IAMCameraControl* pCameraControl = NULL;
pVideoCaptureFilter->QueryInterface(IID_IAMCameraControl,(void**)&pCameraControl);
if(NULL == pCameraControl)
{
result = E_NOTIMPL;
goto error_handler;
}
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Looks like IAMCameraControl has not been implemented on this particular phone. Is there any other way to change default Camera Zoom factor on HTC phones?
I came to know about HTC Camera DLL using this forum. How should I go about getting the Camera DLL and the documentation?
Thanks,
Shashi

(Tweak) Real fullscreen browsing on HD2!!

Hi guys!
Frustrated with the Opera browser on the HD2, I decided to take matters into my own hands
What really bugged me was the inability to see the whole page when browsing the web, and by that I mean go fullscreen… This is possible on the iPhone, Nexus one, Hero, Pre etc. but not on the HD2!
The reason behind all this: Virtual Screen Width….
The resolution on, lets say the iPhone, is poor 480x320… Most webpages are AT LEAST coded in 1024x768…
The reason why the iPhone, with its inferior resolution, is able to go fullscreen on most webpages, is because Safari lets the iPhone use Virtual Screen Width… "Virtual" is the keyword here …
On the HD2 we are blessed with the wonderful native resolution at 800x400 pixels .. This is all great, but there is one problem: Its not 1024, 1156 or 1280… Its 800x400… = 800 in width = crippled page view!
The problem is that Opera, on default, isn't configured with any sort of "virtual" screen width… It is 800 pixels all the way…
But!
We can activate the Virtual Screen Width, and thereby go fullscreen on any webpage= No more crippled web browsing!
Go to:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Opera\Prefs\Adaptative Zoom]
Change "Virtual Screen Width" from "800" (The native screen width) to "1024", "1152", "1280", "1366" or whatever suits your browsing needs
My configuration is like this (Gives a good overview, without destroying visibility):
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Opera\Prefs\Adaptative Zoom]
Virtual Screen Width: 1024
Hope you guys enjoy
Update: Some people are experiencing some problems with "double tab to zoom"... This most likely has to do with another tweak in relation to "Default Zoom" in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Opera\Prefs\Adaptative Zoom] .... If you have changed this value, please change it back to value "175"... My browsing experience is perfect... Fullscreen, double tab, smooth etc. To me the HD2 is now a real internet device
Update 2: Here are some other tweaks, provided by astrodemoniac in another thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=626157
I post it here to create a better overview of whats possible "tweaking" wise on the Opera Browser:
Increase Scrolling FPS:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Opera\Info]
PanFps=50
Increase Zooming FPS:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Opera\Info]
ZoomFps=50
Lower Default Zoom:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Opera\Prefs\Adaptative Zoom]
Default Zoom=100 (I would advise to just keep it on 175, as it works perfectly with my fullscreen tweak.. Some people lose "double tab to zoom" when editing this value.. Keep it on 175!!
+ these tweaks (mainly from tboy2000):
Increase the font cache for displaying text quicker:
HKLM\Software\Opera\Info\
fontcachesize = 64
(default was 32)
Source: this thread (item #76)
Complete page loading = Avoid the unfamous "checkerboard background"
HKLM\Software\Opera\MemoryLimits:
AllocLimit = 70254592
HeapLimit = 73400320
memory_heap_threshold_size = 131072
mmap_reserve_size = 20971520
sbrk_reserve_size = 49283072
Source: this thread (item #76)
If using the newest Opera build from 1.67:
Enable this new Opera to open favorites on the Sense internet tab
HKLM/Software/Opera/Info
UseOperaBookmark = 0
(default = 1)
Enable this new Opera to download files on Storage Card
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\ SDMemory
Folder = Storage Card
Thx!
I'm not sure I got this right...
- Does your tweak work on landscape or portrait? Because this thread here already talks about full screen in, I believe, portrait views. Will you tweak have influence on both portrait and landsape?
- Could you make a screen capture, so we can understand? (BTW, BsB tweak use very simple ways to make screen captures)

It works in both portrait and landscape.. The tweak you refer to adjusts the zoom levels... Not the visual width....
You can see "my" tweak as the key to full screen browsing like on your laptop or whatever... It makes your screen "believe" its actually, lets say 1024 in width, instead of 800... An amazing difference.. Try it out and you will never go back
Nice find!! The full page view is indeed awesome!
But i noticed that double tap zooming doesn't work anymore. But who cares! The fullpage view matters more.
Thanks!
thanks
but it lose the double tap zoom function
Niiiice!!!
I dont lose double tap zooming..!!
(maybe cause i applied all the tweaks for smoothness etc plus this one in the latest opera from 1.67 rom..found here i think!)

Maybe is due to opera build. Mine is 9.7 build 35627. I think I probably should upgrade to the newer build.
Edit :
The double tap zooming is gone when this tweak is used with this,
Lower Default Zoom (Really takes advantage of the HD2 beautiful screen)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Opera\Prefs\Adaptative Zoom]
Default Zoom=100
Simply change the default zoom back to 130 and double tap zooming will work again.

I also loose double tap to zoom, but only in portrait mode. In landscape it is ok. I set the screen width to 1024. Also my registry key is called 'Virtual Screen Width' not 'Visual Screen Width'
My opera build is 9.7 build 35577. I am on ROM 1.48.405.2 WWE
BTW my original value for the Default Zoom is 175 not 130. I have tried using 130 but it doesn't work. The only way it seems to get the double tap to work in portrait mode is to change the screen width back to 800.
Pinch zooms works ok though.
Are we actually talking about the "VIRTUAL SCREEN WIDTH"
Changed the setting to 1024, looks good. Thanks for the tip

Nomination
A real beauty, this tweak. Thanks for sharing.
I would like to nominate this tweak, together with the default zoom-level tweak, for a Grammy Award in the category `best Opera tweaks´
EDIT: added a little cab that changes the "Virtual Screen Width" to 1024. The benefit of using a cab is that when u unistall the cab, the default value is restored. (@ OP: feel free to attach this cab to your own post. The author rights are all yours )

i would actually advise people that those who want to still be able to use double tap zoom to not use this cab.
By default, 1024 disables double tap.
I recommend 1023, or better, 1000.
I figured this trick not too long ago.
See my post. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5510142&postcount=3
Not fully related, but is there a way to disable the soft buttons always appearing during page loading? I find it highly annoying that it always brings the buttons and address bar up, rescaling the page at the same time, and making it a pain to scroll during loading... I only need those if I press the bottom right "menu" button, not all the time automatically...

I have no problems with the double-tap zoom feature. I'm on opera 9.7 35758. What version are you running? (sounds like a weird bug to me)
Changed it to 1280... look awesome, still have my double-tap. Haven't updated my Opera build yet.
Great, it really works fine and should have been the default parameters for Opera!!! I really can't understand why a community like ours is able to change some simple numbers and get the best out of our HD2 ! Anyway, here are the tweaks I use for Opera from now on:
Fullscreen view on portrait and landscape (actually "Full Width")
This enable a webpage to be fully seen when you first load the page.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Opera\Prefs\Adaptative Zoom
Visual Screen Width = 1000
(default was 800 ??)

My Opera build is also the latest, from the leaked ROM 1.67 found here. With this new build, though, even more tweaks are needed... because I'm using the official HTC ROM 1.66
Enable this new Opera to open favorites on the Sense internet tab
HKLM/Software/Opera/Info
UseOperaBookmark = 0
(default = 1)
Enable this new Opera to download files on Storage Card
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\SDMemory
Folder = Storage Card
(I use a french ROM and the latest official ROM 1.66 translates the word "storage card" to french, making Opera not able to know where the microSD card. This tweak solves it)
And finally, I also use BsB tweak 1.6 to enable more tabs for Opera and to enable link click even when zoomed out...
Damn... I think we really need some BIG CAB to easily change this all... I just don't know how to make it. Help
I changed my pinch zoom framerate to 50 the other day, and yes, it's much better... but is there a way to increase the rate of zooming. I don;t like having to pinch several times when on my 3GS I only have to do it once. I know I can just double-tap, but still...

Add leading 0 (zero) on lockscreen clock

Hi guys - Happy New Year.
Can anyone tell me how to add a leading '0' (zero) to the lockscreen clock?
I have used a large number of lockscreens, NONE of them have a leading zero. I am using 24hour time. I have the leading zero on the home tab, and on the top taskbar menu. I cannot seem to get it on the lockscreen.
eg: Lockscreen shows 8:00. I want 08:00.
Thanks in advance.
PS - I can get the zero with lockscreen widgets in CHT2. BUT I want it without any widget add ons.
Try Start-Settings-System-Regional Settings-Time [Page]-Time style HH:mm:ss

Thanks for your reply. I have changed the regional settings to:
hh:mm:ss and also
HH:mm:ss
Nothing happens. The flip clock stays without a zero.
If you are looking for lockscreen with leading zero try manals Windows LockScreen V4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=854047
with settings below it have leading zero for sure. (This is standard windows lockscreen modification, not CHT)

The Touch x 24 hours clock fixes the alarm and lockscreen so they now appear as 08:00.
However nothing I have tried works for the home screen flip clock.
Anyone?
Try reg:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls\overrides]
"STFmt"="HH:mm:ss tt" // (Ex: 08:00 AM or 20:00 PM)
"SSDte"="dd-MM-yyyy" // (Ex: 08-01-2011)
Yep, already tried/checked that. It is as you wrote it.
ALL clocks are showing leading zero, just not Manila home flip clock. Very strange.
Surely there is a way to change it.

It will be controlled by the LUA script for the CHT main clock (assuming it is the main one with various flip/analog/weather options. I'll have a look over the weekend if you like?
Would I be safe in assuming you've already gone to the manila settings tab, date & time and then ticked 24-hour format?

Yes you would be safe in assuming this.
As per the ealier threads, time format, local settings have all been checked and changed. Even the registry. Nothing changes the flip clock have a leading zero.
Depending on what version of cht or sense you have it will be in the lua. There should be a statement near the top that says "shouldhideleadingzeros = true" you just need to change it to false and recompile.

Looked into it a little more for you and the file is 5fa4d4b7_manila from your stock sense.

Well I suggest downloading the manila kitchen by 12 and kilaireg found here:
Thread
It will tell you how to run everything you need but the down and dirty is this.
Copy the manila file into this directory "kitchen>_source>file>xxxx_manila
then use the command prompt link and drag the file manilatool.cmd into the cmd window.
your main commands are going to be as followed in order:
-oem:2.5
-mnf:2.5
-dec
(now that it is decompiled you will be edit the lua in notepad save and then move to the next step.)
Notice: not all files will decompile correctly and you may have to tweak it to get it to decompile correctly.
-cmp (only if it does not fully decompile aka. you have the file in your incomplete folder.)
-rec (will recompile the file which you can then put on your device and enjoy)
I know it isn't much but as I said they have detailed info in the pack.
In case anyone is still trying to figure this out.
I installed the latest 314 WWE ROM and it supports a leading zero on the original manila clock.
Awesome.

NO fix as yet.
Guys,
I have to apologise, I don't know what planet I was on, but the new 314 ROM, does NOT fix this issue. There is still no leading zero for manila flip clock.
Anyway have a fix that works?
I have no idea how to edit manila files, and have not been successful is doing so.
I will have to rely on someone generous enough to do it for me.
Thank you in advance to anyone willing to help.

[root]Alternative keyboard layout compilation

Hi there,
as this phone isn't available outside of the US I guess it's convenient for us importers to have some keyboard layouts to choose from. I just made a german one - I've made a list with those layouts which were already mentioned somewhere in this forum.
German Layout
Download keypad files here
Code:
My changes:
- AT is now the Umlaut special character (eg. press AT, then 'a' to get 'ä')
- AT is bound to the EMAIL key (EMAIL + A/U/O for umlauts works pretty well)
- SEARCH is bound to the CONTACTS key
- ALT is also bound to the VOICESEARCH key
- Y is Z; Z is Y
- ALT + B will now result in 'ß'
I just got used to two ALT buttons (coming from the DZ/G2). The SEARCH button is used in some apps, but not very often.. I like to have it on my keyboard, thus binding it to the CONTACTS key (I use search+'x' for certain shortcuts).

Using the tips from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33762519&postcount=537 and some prior knowledge, I modified my keys so Irssi ConnectBot could work (it requires a DPAD_CENTER hard key) and some other things could be better.
If you replace your current versions with the below links, you'll get the following changes:
Shift + [number] gives the symbol Alt + [number] does.
The Email key will give you '@' and Alt + Email will give '~'. (This is how I had modified my Sidekick 4G's @ key since that kbd didn't have '~' at all.)
The stupid microphone button does DPAD_CENTER (this is the same as pressing the trackball button on phones that have them).

The right shift key and the alt key are now search keys. This makes using quick launch keyboard shortcuts very easy because there are keys in both corners of the device to press--along with another key to launch an app. This eliminates the need to reach across the device when multitasking.
The voice key is now the right shift.
The sms/contacts and email buttons are now both alt keys.
It's not for everyone and most people will probably be confused with keys that perform strange actions (that conflict with their labels), but it works for me.

Feel free to upload your layout files / describe your changes - I'll add them to the list. They don't have to be language specific.

Is there a chance to add like or emulate key CTRL?
I was in shock when I get the mobile as was never thinking it is not present.

Sure, since you can use normal keyboards with your android device there has to be some CTRL function - though I don't know why you'd want CTRL keys. There are some shortcuts in android which use CTRL similar to those windows has.. but I can't think of any other uses.
You just have to bind LEFT_CONTROL or RIGHT_CONTROL (in sec_keypad.kl) to any key you want. Haven't tested that though.

I want to use it for copy/paste options, we can do it on screen, but sometimes it's faster, and I prefer to do it with physical keyboard.
So do I have to root my device to change anything in that file, I am on 4.1.2 stock one now.
Thanks
Mac
Ah, I see - good idea actually, I'll try that.
Yes, you have to be rooted since you have to modify sytem files.

Recently I did ping in Shell apk and could't stop it, as without CTRL key I don't know how... So there is more than I said before.
Here's a Nordic layout I'm using. It should cover Swedish and Finnish characters. The keymaps have been shamelessly ripped off Desire Z CyanogenMod configuration files.
Email = Ö
Messaging = Ä
Voice Search = Å

Finally I made CONTROL key.
In file sec_keypad.kl I have now:
key 215 CTRL_LEFT
So instead of email key it is left control key.
I am so glad!
Now I am wondering how to add polish characters : ą, ć, ę, ł, ń, ó, ś, ź, ż
They should be under adequate letter and CTRL button (I believe).
Anybody can point me in the right direction?

Hi there,
as this phone isn't available outside of the US I guess it's convenient for us importers to have some keyboard layouts to choose from. I just made a german one - I've made a list with those layouts which were already mentioned somewhere in this forum.
...
// edit: I forgot the 'ß', lol. I bound it to alt+B, since this button has no alt function + minor thread layout changes, added two more mappings which were mentioned in Nocturin's post

*I want to follow you with my layout but cannot found ß symbol in files you are posting.
Can you update files?
Thanks

It's in the sec_keypad.kcm:
Code:
key B {
label: 'B'
number: '2'
base: 'b'
shift, capslock: 'B'
alt: '\u00df'
shift+alt, capslock+alt: '\u00df'
\u00df is unicode for 'ß'.

Yeah , right.
Silly me, I was looking for S sharfe itself, it is unicode UTF 8?
Yup, UTF 8. DF is 223 in decimal. There are tables out there with all the special keys and their HTML-decimal value.
Here is polish keyboard layout.
Mainly we are getting special letters with CTRL button (which is under email key), but some are coming with left ALT. Thus because CTRL + C for example is COPY.
More explained in files.
Soon I will do it with right shift, which I see useless at all.
Pretty interesting this thread.
I just bought one of these best qwerty device masterpiece and I'm start wondering about how to make special CZECH characters under the numbers 2-0
I'd like this:
2 = ě
3 = š
4 = č
5 = ř
6 = ž
7 = ý
8 = á
9 = í
0 = é
Can you guys give me some guide? Many thanks in advance!
Is it no better to do it with alt or ctrl key?
Kueber wrote already instruction on next post.
There is one thing we should remember, permissions.
I experienced that when it is not right Android is using different file for keyboard layout (not using file sec_keypad.kcm).
I believe it is OK to use Root Explorer apk as it was mention somewhere.

You have to modify the sec_keypad.kcm - just edit the keys.
For example, find the '2' key and edit the 'ě' in.. but you need to write it in UTF8.
1) Find character ascii value: ě -> 277 I believe (you can find those numbers in any ASCII chart <- this one even displays all the values in hex)
2) convert to HEX: 115
3) ě in unicode is now '\u0115' - just put the hex-number in like I did
4) edit the value in sec_keypad.kcm
Should look like this:
Code:
before
key 2 {
label: '2'
number: '2'
base: '2'
shift: '2'
alt: '@'
shift+alt: '@'
}
after
key 2 {
label: '2'
number: '2'
base: '\u0115'
shift: '2'
alt: '@'
shift+alt: '@'
}
Now "2" will result in a "ě" .. shift+2 will be your regular "2". Hope that helps.
my own polish physical keyboard layout and char map:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2293495&stc=1&d=1380569369
voicesearch key (the stupid microphone) mapped to ALT_RIGHT
'ć', 'ę', 'ł', 'ń', 'ó', 'ś', 'ź', 'ż' under right alt+c, e, l, n, o, s, x and z key, respectively
'ą' is under right alt+q key, i could not make it work with a
e-mail key mapped to CTRL_LEFT, crtl+c and ctrl+v shortcuts work
i also recommend this:
http://source.android.com/devices/tech/input/key-character-map-files.html
to everyone making custom keyboard layouts. it explains *.kcm files well
i would like to thank kueber, dillalade and mazak23
good to see that i am not the first t699 user in poland
So, who wants to kang this for us? https://github.com/CyanogenMod/andr...mmit/7f6a2c6a56aceca8505cfce97c5a2cf77612a791
Alternatively, if we set this up, would people submit keymaps for various languages?
