Why flash radio then do ROM mine works fine? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

I just heard that you should flash the radio then install the ROM you want to put on your device, what is the reasoning behind this. I did it the other way around, install ROM then flashed my radio and everything works great?

It doesn't matter. Flash either way it'll work fine. Point is to have the correct radio supported by the ROM.

thank you sir

If you are flashing to a rom that uses the 1.27.14.09 radio, you should flash the radio before flashing rom.

I was flashing to Duttys daul touch v3 final rom, not sure if he uses that radio.

i'm sure you can just flash dutty's rom with the radio attached then if the radio you want to use is compatible just flash that radio after. fairly easy stuff man.
before flashing dutty's rom search for your radio here at xda and download the nbh for your radio. Than after flashing the rom, flash the device with the radio you want

Methods to upgrade the Kaiser Radio

Hello,
I am the newbie of flashing cooked Rom in my Kaiser. I have checked the Wiki and flashed the cooked Rom successfully. Then, I found that I need to upgrade the radio since the version is too old (The Radio is for WM6.0 and the cooked Rom is WM6.1). However, the Wiki and some posts tell me to upgrade the radio by using the MicroSD card ONLY. Is there any method to upgrade the radio other than using MicroSD card?
Thank you very much!
Regards,
Jacky Luk
why would you need any other method?
i flash roms/splashes/radios using the sd card and think its the best way.
Because I do not have the MicroSD card in my hand now!
i think you can flash the radio the same method you flashed the rom...
or just buy the sdcard
Actually, can I use the generic Rom flashing method to flash the radio since I found that the downloaded radio contains the KaiserCustomRUU.exe and KAIS_1.71.09.01.nbh? In other words, can I flash the radio by executing the KaiserCustomRUU.exe when the Kaiser is connecting to the host computer through the Microsoft ActiveSync?
Run the radio file the same way you would flash your ROM from the PC. Make sure you are certain you have a radio ONLY file though. Or else you might just flash a new rom as well.
Thank you very much!

Will Aces Hack Kit approach to rooting remove the stock radio.

At the end of the "effen manual" in ace's hack kit, it shows you how to reflash the stock radio and rom, probably in case you ever need to send the phone back for insurance purposes. My question is...do I need to reflash the stock radio if I intend to use the stock radio with a custom rom or will the stock radio still be in tact after rooting, downgrading the rom, etc...
In other words, does ace's hack kit affect the stock radio?
Yes. As part of the downgrade step, the radio is also replaced by the one in the downgrade package.
Thank you.
I will reflash the stock radio and then flash a custom rom. It doesn't matter which order I perform those two steps in...or does it?
if your going to flash a custom rom, go ahead and wait to flash the radio, until you flash the custom rom, then you can flash the recommended radio for the rom.
Like said above because sometimes the roms will run just as good with one radio as they do with another. I did though when I used the kit.... can't really go wrong with either one you can always change it later.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
The first rom I flashed after I rooted with the Hack-Kit was the rooted stock rom with the OTA update in PD98IMG.zip form (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1058042). Because it has the OTAed stock radio with the rooted stock rom in it so everything is done in one step (installed from HBoot). After that you can flash any rom of your choice from recovery and you get to keep the OTAed stock radio.

[Q] Thunderbolt radio flashing question

This is probably is super simple question but, I want to Flash my Thunderbolt with CM7 RC 1.1 (MR2.5 radio version) and flash the MR2.5 radio. Which one do I flash first?
THANK YOU!
I'm not a dev but i have flashed a few different radios when I installed a custom Rom. So far (and maybe it's just me) but I have installed the rom and let it load up and get going and everything. Then skip through all the setup and when it is finished I reboot into recovery and flash the radio afterward.

[Q] Flashing without Radio

Hey All,
This is my first post, and yes i have searched around xda to find an answer to my question, but nothing seems to suite exactly the response i am looking for, or better yet a solution.
I am currently trying to flash a custom rom however the rom comes packed with a radio in itself for my NEXUS S I9020A
My question is, I am satisfied with the radio i currently have, is there a possibility to flash a rom without the radio?
I tried unzipping the ZIP file and deleted the radio.img file that was in it. And re-zipped the file using my OSX standard zipping utility. However when i load it up and flash it through CWM, it says installation failed.
Any ideas or suggestions on how i could flash a rom by rezipping a ROM without radio?
i radio a required in order to make call and for data connection. why do you want a rom without radio?

Most likely because he is trying to flash a rom that contains a radio that is not compatible with his phone. If the rom does not contain a new radio, the old one remains on the phone.
A lot of people are doing this to get ICS on their 9020a using a modified rom from the 9020t (minus the radio).

Instead of messing with the custom rom zip file, why don't you just get the correct radio for your Nexus S I9020A phone from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116884 then put both the rom zip file & radio zip on your sd-card & just flash the rom first then radio whilst in cwm recovery!?
