I have a really annoying issue. Every time I open an email or text on my HTC Kaiser, it opens it half way down the message.
I can not get it to open at the top of the message so I can see the header and first line.
any Ideas?
Turn off smooth scrolling in PocketIE.
You must have turned it on through one of the tweak programs.
Tweaks2k2 or SKTools can do it.
this behavior started happening for me too. it would seem to have been at the time I installed "Kaiser Tweak". but the application doesn't let you control smooth scrolling in PIE?
rob_pinnington - what worked for you?
edit - ok nevermind in Kaiser Tweak it's 'D pad navigation' that did it.
weird.

Hi,
This is my first post, so I'm a bit uncertain as to where it belongs...
I have a Trinity, but the problem is more Windows Mobile related, I guess.
When I open a message in pocket outlook (any message, IMAP mail or SMS), the message openes, but scrolled to the "second page" (even when the SMS is only 3 lines long)...
I can scroll up, and see the whole message; but it's annoying.
Does anyone know how I can solve this?
It is to do with the settings of Internet Explorer when the navigation is set to scroll line by line instead of jumping between links.
Installing jasjamming's Pimp My Black tweaker (search this form for it) and disabling this D-pad behaviour fixes it.
Hmm... actually this doesn't solve the problem, it is still "scrolled", but only till the second hyperlink (being the from-line, which is almost at the top).
Hi all,
since few days I've a strange behavior from pocket outlook when reading messages.
When I access any message, it gets displayed from the second page like if having pressed down on the scrollweel. To properly see first part of the message, I've to press "up" (or scroll up).
The same when accessing SMS messages...
To be noted that if displaying a message having scrolled it to the top, changing screen orientation (portrait/landscape) I get the message automatically scrolled down like if having pressed once the down button...
Before, display was correct getting message displayed from the beginning (with the sender + subject).
I tried to recall what I may have installed corrupting something (in the registry?), but I do not find anything that could have caused this behavior.
Any help?
Thanks.
Found, it is a tweak on KaiserTweak
The post with the solution...
When using PocketIE/D-Pad Scroll Navigation email could start half way the email.
Please see below (from Dutty's ROM thread) : maybe is is wise to disable the tweak or remove the Adviced notification

I finally figured out the fix:
Load up KaiserTweak and Disable PocketIE/D-Pad Scroll Navigation.
I had enabled this earlier because it sounded cool, but apparently Outlook has issues with it.

Click to collapse
I agree it should be removed from KaiserTweak, or at least not marked as suggested
Alright so a few quirks with the Cruise to see if anyone else has ideas or comments on this:
1) Clicking on the Mail icon in HTC Home has a delay before opening up the Account Selection screen. If I map the Messaging App to a button or launch it directly it opens super quick. So what gives, why is the Home plugin taking much longer to launch Messaging?
2) Phone dialer skin lag. This really annoys me when I see the screen getting painted when bringing up the dialer. I mean it's a phone, of all things why can't this work nicely. Other things work really smooth, why this?
3) Comm Manager exit. We all know it doesn't really exit and is probably a WM6 issue. Even when you click the exit soft button. The reason this is also annoying is because if the Comm Manager is launched for the first time, it opens up nicely without different parts of the screen getting painted. However if it's in memory and launched again, you see it painting different sections of the screen. If I go in and kill it and start it up again, no painting on the screen. What gives? How can I ensure that pressing exit actually stops the application?
Thanks!
Anyone have a solution to any of these quirks?
Alright, I will try bumping this thread one more time in the chance that someone might have some input on at least items 1 & 2. I have heard that item 3 might be solved by some of the ROMs out there, maybe bepe's.
With regards to point 2, I don't have a solution but I would imagine if there was a way to keep the phone dialer in memory and running in the background once its been opened for the first time - it may resolve the issue. i.e if it wasn't closed competely when it was finished with ...just an idea, not sure how you could implement it - will have to have a play.
Actually I find that's not always the case. For example the CommManager does the exact opposite. When the Comm Manager is in memory and you call it up again is when I see the screen painting slowly. If I am calling it for the first time is when it displays the screen in one shot.
I am currently using the most awesome Dr. Gonzo WM6.1 ROM, however my phone seems to have developed a slightly annoying quirk over the last day or so. Every few minutes, it vibrates (two short, two long ..--), as if there is a missed call or waiting message (as I see this is a new feature added by Dr. Gonzo). However, I have scoured my phone and there is no waiting notification of any kind and there is nothing running in the task manager either.
The only plugins I have installed are showaco's FeatherWeather plugin and tlogix's CHome Configurator. Both of which I had been using for a while before this vibration issue started.
By changing the interval of the vibrations (through the menu/System/Config Notification), I can see that it is indeed this script that is causing trouble. Disabling and then re-enabling it doesn't seem to help, nor does switching the phone off. I really like this script (when it functions correctly), so I would rather not just disable it completely.
If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions, I would really like to hear them.
Thanks
I've had the same problem before.. the script reads a registry value.
use a registry editor (there should be one one the phone somewhere as its a Dr G ROM).
Goto HKLM\System\State\Shell and look for a key called "Notify", select it and set it to 0. That should stop it.. You might have to reboot the phone.
It worked for me..
Google for PHM RegEdit its free software
This is driving me insane, I have put up with it for too long and I just need to find a solution. I can't remember when this started happening, if it is a 6.5 or a 6.1 and 6.5 thing. It has happened on both my old Raphael and on my new Rhodium. The problem is when you are in a conversation view in Messaging and you slide out the keyboard, the textbox where you type the reply will be mostly behind the softkeys. This happens randomly, but at least once per day. To fix this I have to close the messaging application with a task manager that can kill the process.
Has anyone else had this issue?
