Hi all,
Recently installed Dutty's v3 final, its been fast, stable and generally made my kaiser a blast to use. However, I've noticed a strange entry in the buttons config drop down menu. Namely, I am able to assign a "square" to my short-cut keys, does anyone know what this square refers to? Is there anyway to get rid of it?
Another question I have relates to the OK hard button. When I was originally on the AT&T rom I recall that pressing the OK hard button (on the front of the kaiser, below the right soft-key) closes the current application. However, this is no longer the case. It seems that it instead minimizes the current application. Is there anyway to change it so that the OK hard button closes the application instead?
Thanks and keep up the good work.
I'm on his v3. I have the square too. Don't have an answer for that.
But for the ok button thing, open up quick menu > option and check the "ok" button to close program.
This problem was also in the official rom. so it has nothing to do with dutty;s
Yes, indeed.
Im the original ROM too.
yes i have it too.. sucks really..
It's not like the square has any impact oO

Hey guys
New to TouchFlo - got it installed yesterday.
Having an issue though.
When I open it, by clicking the taskbar button, or in Start, it opens up.
When i want to go back to Today screen, I swipe up on it to toss it away, or even if i hold the right taskbar button to close it, it goes away.
If i try to access it again, nothing happens. screen stays on Today, but is not functional unless i press the END key, as if an invisible FLO is over the screen
Whats up here?
here is what i flashed yesterday
T-Mobile 2.26 ROM : MDA_software_update_226102_22610105_022511.exe
T-Mobile-UK_2.19.11_Radinly
NBD.v7.9
running old AT&T blue network on 8125
installed apps:
A_C Slide2Unlock
Xplore Keyboard
Today Agenda
Pocket Alarm
Nyx Password
Device Lock
Contact Manager
MhoairSofa Calendar+ Today Plugin
BatteryStatus (using this to overclock to 260mhz.)
PocketSoft ToggleBT
I had the iphone phonepad and stuff installed, but i couldnt figure out how to switch back to the Today screen without clicking SETTINGS, and still having iphone running. it was slow and laggy. any way around this?
thanks
I had same issue, only solution for me, was to stop using TouchFlo
Touchflo will only pull itself up the first time period...
Afterwards when you push the button to access it, it will appear nothing will happen... however if you swipe your finger as if you were turning the cube, it will infact go to the next page..... try it out
that is stupid!
any hopes of a fix?
The various versions of touchflo on wizard require you to press a button before getting touch to work. Depending on the ROM, this could be button 4 or left softkey.
HTC Tocuh has a video of Touch phone on their website. I see that even here, a button is pressed every time the touch features are accessed. This may be a feature of touch itself, rather than a bug in the way touchflo works on wizard.

you can buy a touch.
man, think...
the touchFLO is hack for work on wizard....so is very hard to have this work perfect.
if you realy need the cube working 100% buy a touch
With the new touch scrolling, the cube and hardware buttons i am able to use my wizard with just one hand very quickly! I am very happy about this
The only problem is when i have to press x/ok button
Is there a way to map this to a HW button?
Thanks!
PS: i just flashed back to my original rom (i-mate wm5) boy it`s ugly slow and without a lot of stuff...
So you guys are doing a REALLY GOOD JOB here!!!
Back on WM6 now...
i second that, i assigned my voice dial button to ok/close but it just "minimizes" the program... not actual close... i used the closeall program but sometimes i want to just switch to another program in the background...
maybe what i will do is use closeall in the voice dial hold option.. and ok/close in single press... ...
Guys, this is the main use (for me at least) of Smartskey... The right soft key is mapped so that if you press and hold it it closes the current app. The left soft key is mapped so if you press and hold it, it will open the Start Menu...
sorry for this, i am so stupid... the ok/close button is in the list
ups! i just assume there are only apps in the list.
Sorry again!
PS: Senior Member ?!?!? - i guess i just ask a lot of stupid questions - lol
Has anyone come up with working solution for mapping hw keys?
I found this thread on Diamond, but no help:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398280
I am using AEKMap to enable both latin/cyrillic input on my TP's hw keyboard. You may google it and give it a try.
There is no need for additional software, just follow this post and you'll get the answer. Worked for me.
Try AE Button Plus.
B.
I think you did not quite follow me here.
I dont mean to change layout of QWERTY, but hw-keys like "Back" and "Home" at front panel of TP.
This is becaus I find home and back quite useless and would much more prefer to have ALT+TAB (change program) and close program (REALLY close them, not leave running background as back seems to randomly do).

And that is EXACTLY what i also want to know....
The total lack of hardware-keys on this device is already disturbing enough, but being locked out of the option to remap any of them is truely horrid...
Anyone know of any reg-hacks maybe?
I've got Spb PocketPlus 4 installed btw, and it's got a button mapping function as well...
But when i go into the buttons map, some weird black icons appear with no name attached to it. Can anyone make anything of this? As you can see i've been able to map one thing only: the Spb close-button-contex-menu, which allows me to switch task KW-buttons only....
But this is not enough for me, i need ALT-TAB aswell and off course a VoiceCommand button.
And regrettably the Rapael doesn't have that many HW keys to start with...
I want also to use Home/Back buttons for different purposes, but I didn;t found a solution yet.
Gotten a step closer to what i really need over this weekend:
In the button dialogue (with extra generated buttons by Spb PP+4) there was only one other button that had a name...
So i tried this one and go figure: it seems to be the " <= " (or 'back') button. In the dialogue it's called the OK button. I've got it set to the close contaxt menu now, and mapped Voicecommand to long-pressed answer key...
So far, this setup is to my satisfaction, and after two months of use this phone finaly behaves completely the way i want it to...
Hi, guys.
See my post here:

Hope this helps!
Cheers.

You're very welcome, tk_berlin.
You be sure to let me know if anything in there doesn't make sense or you need any help with it.
Cheers from Canada!

Lol. I was on my machine all morning and had XDA open in one of my tabs.
Yes, you can map practically any button in AEBPlus no problem.

AEBP will also *learn* any keys it doesn't have. So you could use the "Add Button" option, press your Home key, and away you go.
The way I have it set up, holding down the phone key will activate voice command (default behavior).
But remember, assigning commands to the Home or OK buttons (that "Back" button is actually an "OK" button) doesn't unmap what they normally do so you will always go home first and then it will perform <x>-function that you assign.
Personally, I don't like to program the Home or OK buttons because I find that they are "trickier" to press. What I mean is, if you tap the OK button near it's center or close to the left, it doesn't register a press. If you tap it sort of with the long part of your thumb (which is more natural when holding the device in one hand), it registers it. I've tried this with two TP's now and the button behaved the same way on both. Due to this, I find it unreliable to map anything to it.
In any case, as I mentioned earlier, the Volume buttons, Phone and End keys will be unmapped once you attach AEBP to them but the others will not.
Oh -- I forgot to mention, you can map the directional pad as well if that is your thing.

It does work, but it sends an OK command first.
I wrote a little utility for hard-coded buttons such as these for another Pocket PC I had (an ASUS P527) called "DoNothing.exe" but we can't apply that work-around here. What I would do is replace the EXEs of apps the hardware keys called with my DoNothing.exe, but in the case of the TP, we definitely don't want to replace START.EXE (which I believe to be the likely EXE (haven't tested this)).
If I find a way to map those buttons reliably, I will let you know, tk_Berlin. So far tho, I've been quite pleased with just using the four buttons I mentioned. The more I use this device and the more I ponder my decision to stay with TFL3D instead of the normal WM interface, the more I realize that I don't need half the add-ons I used to use prior to having TF3D. I am accustomed to very, very, very *heavily* customizing my device, but the setup I have now works great and I really haven't lost nething from my old WM world. In fact, prolly gained a few CPU cycles and memory to boot.
I don't miss the Today Screen at all!!! Now that I think about it, I never really looked at it.
Cya!
My device is working perfectly except for the keyboard, when i slide it up, its nice and neat.
However, when i press "FN" key, it goes to Calendar, when i press "1", it goes to Start, When i press "Tab", Caps light is on, When i press "CAPS", FN light is on...
What is going on? Is it hardware or ROM prob? I used Energy 3.0 ROM, the problem exist, then i flash to Chrome's ROM, the problem still exist. I wonder if i flash back to stock ROM? How would it be?
Or would it be the 1.90.Olinex HARDSPL prob?

Did you search before posting?
This is one of the most common questions asked here....
The TP and the AT&T Fuze have different keyboard mappings.
Depending on your device, you need to search for that cab to fix your keyboard.
In EnergyROM:
Start -> Utilities -> Tweaks -> Keyboard Selector.
Even easier than finding a cab, it's built in to EnergyROM.
Also, for future reference, the EnergyROM threads usually have information like this in the 2nd or 3rd post. I can see how you could miss it, though, amidst all the other thousands of posts in the EnergyROM threads.
Good luck!

Just laziness....
I've tried a bunch of new 6.5 UI roms and I am facing this problem with all of them.
1. The OK button (bottom right) does not close applications. It simply minimizes them. This is really frustrating since I dont know what apps are open until i pull up the task manager. This also drains battery life. How do i make the OK button close an app? (detailed instructions appreciated)
2. The earlier UI used to have a quick task manager on the top right corner from which we could switch apps and close them. that doesnt come anymore, instead i get this new and useless notification bar. How do i make it show the quick task manager? (detailed instructions appreciated)
The above 2 make it really annoying to switch/close apps because once u minimize, the only way to go back to them it seems is to pull up dot fred task manager.
3. Pressing the home button on the device while running an app (the home iconed hardware button under the screen) takes me to the opened start menu not the home screen. when i exit out of the start menu it takes me back to the app, so i cannot access my homescreen unless i press ok on the app and minimize it, is there any way to make the hom button take me to the homescreen?
Thank you in advance?
1 & 2 : use showcase : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4030896
3 : use end button instead of home (which is an HTC non-sense, get the start menu like your rom is configured is really a better idea)
fantastic app - showcase. that solves my task manager problem, but i still have to press start, go to apps and press showcase to bring it up, can i have it mapped on the notification area so i can simply fire it up without having to go to the start menu?
thanks.
I have been having issues with Showcase not wanting to install or run properly on the newest 6.5 build 23071. If I load v1.0.1 It will work for the most part and I can configure it to still to close a program by clicking on the clock.. How ever when I switch to the newer 1.1.0 build I can not get the lower X to close thing like it should by either holding it or by setting to single tap.
I'm currently doing a hard reset because of trying taskfacade and trying to go back to Showcase.
i just installed 1.1.0 and it seems to be working fine. i even managed to figure out how to bring it up from any app. just tap and hold the win key and it comes up. very nice software.
Ya I have it back up and working. The only other issue to look forward to with Showcase is that some report it closing tmail.exe from time to time. I also map my PTT short press to open it for those programs that take the full screen and do not have the Windows icon.
You can also check out AEButton+. You have to pay for it, but it's pretty cheap. I got it last week, and have no idea why I didn't get it sooner. Haven't tried it on the newer com3 builds yet (still using com2), but I'm pretty sure it will close things. It isn't tied into the displaced 'X' button like a lot of task managers. You can close apps with a button push, and it also has a nice little task manager pop-up that you can also map to a button push (similar to the htc quick menu). You also get ~dozen more mappable button pushes on a fuze. It's really worth it, although I haven't tried a com3/4 6.5 build yet.
Newer WM6.5.1 builds such as 23071... clicking on the clock brings up the new drop down taskbar...
Running HTC Task Manager, you have to tap and hold, then release to get the task manager to shop up. Does Showcase experience this as well?
It seems to be with the new builds. I would assume Showcase would function the same.
Why don't you people just use inbuilt taskmanager.exe from Windows folder? I've configured it to open with long press "send" key (talk button), and it's working great.
I use aebutton and tie it to my Ok/Back key to close apps and it's working like a treat. that's the best way to really close apps I feel
i have a custom winmo 6.5 rom aslo, everything runs good on it, except the onscreen keyboard is useless now, all i can seem to enter are numbers only and i have messed with the input settings to see if that can correct it and so far to no avail or maybe im just one of the weird people who actualy use the onscreen compact qwerty i dunno.
