I am just about to buy the Qtek 8310, because I really want a Windows Smartphone with Wifi... as far as I know the Qtek 8310 is the only Windows Smartphone with Wifi?
Now why do you think is Wifi so important to me? Because I wanna stream stuff from the net all day. The most important thing is to be able to stream music from www.Shoutcast.com the stream there are of extremely high quality and one example link is:
http://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutcast-playlist.pls?rn=1025&file=filename.pls
So do you think I would be able to listen to this channel using Qtek 8310 via Wifi? What player would I have to install (I guess TCPMP)? And what about watching movies online (streaming)? Does anyone have experiences with this kind of stuff? Does YouTube etc. work, having installed the right software?
There are also a bunch of TV channels online. So if the video streaming works via Wifi then = Qtek 8310 has TV
WOW I'm really in love with this Smartphone and can't wait to hear that all the streaming is possible so I can finally go ahead.
the i-mate SP5 (same as QTEK/HTC 8310) has Wifi too
so has the im-ate SP5m and QTEK/HTC 8300
The HTC620 smartphone includes also WIFI (and a 'keyboard')
and there are other smartphones which includes WIFI
tcpmp is the best, particularly for shoutcast streams. I use that on qtek 8300, pretty much the same thing.
I flashed the Nitro WM6 Platinum ROM. Looks real good so far. However, the Windows Media Player hard keys don't work like they used to which was back, play/pause and forward. All they do now is launch WMP. Is there some way of getting them to work as they did before under WM5 and the stock TMO SDA ROM??
Something very strange happens with my TP: when 'pocket player' is on the backround not playing any music, and i just put it just that way, the phone gets very slow: program icons come up one by one slow, scrolling is slow, icons in explorer come up slow and when i use touchflo (scrolling) in Programs, i get the grey screen, witch is easely fixed by putting the phone stand-by then wake it up.
Somethimes this also happens when using Ophera and once it happened when i closed RSS reader.
The only way to make my phone fast again is to hard reset.
And now without Pocket player, the phone gets slow like every 20-24 hours, hard reset doesnt help, i dont use Touchflo 3d and here is my programs list:

first i think the problem is in conduits pocket player - something like "zombie" ... wrong closed program - but if it does without conduicts software ... .
i have same ROM and date (1.90.40.1 wwe migth be 1.90.401.1 wwe ? ) protocol 52.33.25.17U
look like the slow internet loading - like fast writing icon after icon and name of items
have you got the same result if you don`t start pocket player at all ?

I think its Pocket player, uninstalling it right now and i think i should look for a different 3rd party software for music... If i still get the problem, then ill send it right back to HTC, because it would mean i cant install anything, and that would be like TP but with Apple software.
It is conduit pocket player (3.7 is what I have) for sure!
I had the same problem, and finally decided to give up on it and switch back to media player.. Works nicely. Never had to reset again.

Yes, i had 3.6 and then tried 3.7... this is a bugger, now what sould i use for a mediaplayer because the windows mp sucks, it is just not good.

uninstalling pocket player .. ,but .... .except wmp - is there anything which can replace it ? i mean , something with touch support , sorting to artist, album , and have "now playing" and engue up options ... i cant find anithing :/ the phone which i have before this nice peace of hardware , was w850i (walkman player - can someone port it to wm ? )) ) ... .and if i match this two - widows mobile are ... . .....i dont want to write dirty words ... .but sou large possibilities with finger touching nice hardware like TP , and ...there is, ..unusable ,unfinished and unintegral windows mobile :/ ... like any microsoft product ... (all my pc's are powered by linux ...)
The same happened with pocket music, now i am triying it with Morth player, if the same happens im sending this phone back to htc.
can someone post his experience with pocket player on different rom ? (then 1.90.401.1 wwe )

so , I flash my raphael with dsc v15 , which is based on 1.90.405.1 ... and the problem is still there ...
annoing ...windows media player using a brutal amount of ram (over 70M , after a hour of playing - wtf ? ) and pocket player making my phone unusable ...
I`m annoied of whole windows mobile .... .hope someone port android on touch pro, because linux . ., is . .. linux

I have seen lots n lots of people asking for youtube support on this forum and i have seen many experts here to cook ROMs too. There have been countless suggestions to run youtube streaming methods n small applications but eventually everything fails after performing for a couple of days. While this may be regarded as a result of frequent changes by youtube admin in streaming process yet i have a simple point to stress..why everything still plays in browser of our normal PC..and why not a ROM should be cooked which (by http protocol as in desktop PC) should be able to play on Universal. Give it a serious thought plz. Thanx for reading.

I ALWAYS use the standard WM internet explorer, TCPMP 0.72rc1, and flashvideobundle, and it has never failed to play youtube. If you use Tomal's later roms you only need to add flashvideobundle (about 800k) and away you go. No reg settings, no server settings but you do need to select flash video box in "TCPMP/options/settings/select page/file association" I just select the lot! As an added bonus, it gives you the choice of saving the video too. Maybe you have tried it, but if not give it a go.

I also forgot, there is skyfire browser to. but I think it is only supported in USA and UK at the moment. However it runs nearly all flash sites very well.

I can't watch youtube videos on neither operamini/opera mobile10 nor on the IE.Why is it so?My device is I-mate ultimate 9502 with WM6.1 ROM.It was possible before I hardresetted my device.Could I have lost some components for it to work?
