Hi. I've just registered @ XDA Developers.com So I can Pick your brains briefly, hehehe.. I've just bought a 4GB SD memory card for my Orbit XDA but the phone isn't auto detecting the card, like it does the 1GB card I'm upgrading from. I've Googled the subject to get results telling me that there is a CAB avalible that will enable me to use the 4GB SD card, could any-one please help me out with this issue.. Thanks in advance.. Hi, i just bought the xda II and plan to buy a SD storage card for pictures, movie clips and mp3s. Plan to buy either 256 or 512 mb SD card. It will be lovely if some of u guys can give me some opinion, suggestion or recommandation.
p/s: I've heard that some SD card come with different speed (16x, 32x...), can i ask what it mean? the write speed? read speed? will the speed effect from listening mp3 which store in SD card?

I have a 4GB Transcend (150x Speed) in my XDA Neo.
It does work fine! Just keep in mind to format it with your Desktop PC - otherwise you can't access it from the Desktop PC later (e.q. to store MP3 etc.)

exactly prophet's card reader doesn't work with High Capacity SD cards

Hi , I have a Qtek S200 and a NORMAL 4 gb mini SD (with sd adapter) and it works very well1
But it is not HDSC...

some people got on there pda a sdhc working with a test rom when is there one comming for the prophet???
i want to buy a 8bg sdhc ut it only works until there will be some cind of a rom upgrade!

Hi - Can anyone tell me if they are using or have used a Sandisk Extreme III SD Card (4GB) in their Himalaya sucessfully.
I have one but it is not recognised by the Himalaya.
It has no trouble reading an older 1GB SDCard.
Does anyone know the maximum limit on what the Himalaya (O2 XDA II) can take in regards to the SD Card size?

There is an issue with SDHC card. Use search fascility in this forum, as I know there is one driver to overcome this issue. But some people said that that driver doesn't work. But It is worth to try.
Let me know if you succes to use it with that driver.

it is only possible with non sdhc cards. Tornado doesn't support sdhc.
i think there are some 4GB non-sdhc cards available.
Currently I am also using a 2GB miniSD on my SP5m. I also like to know whether this SP5m supports higher GB cards OR not???

Using a 4GB MiniSD as well. I bought it on Ebay.
They usually say if its a SDHC card or not. I think nearly all the cheap & no-name ones should work...

Im using a 4GB minisd not SDHC from Topram (got it of ebay) work fine.

Maybe the thing you can do is find a old old style of microsd card , which using old chipset , sd but not hc...

I own a sgn 10.1 and a 32gb microsd card class 10. I got the sd card from ebay.
When i got it through the post i copied my videos and then inserted it in my sgn and when i clicked play it said the video was 0.00 long but it was 1 and a half hrs long !?!
Also it still saids it 140mb big however when i try to play it on my pc from my sd card adapter it is also on 0.00 long but when i play it from the original file it plays fine?!?
Does something happen when i transfer it over ?

You bought it from ebay.... You may have bought a "32Gb" sd card but in reality it is only 2Gb... This is a major problem from buying sd cards off ebay.
The seller adds a script to the sd card to report its bigger than it really is, this will be reported by any device you put it in.
2Gb cards are super cheap so you sell a few and by the time the complaints come rolling in you have closed your account and opened up a new one to run the same con...
Unfortunately for the sap that bought it, after you write to the 2Gb it will continue to fill the sd card, unfortunately it is in reality just corrupting and deleting data. That 1 1/2 movie really has no information stored on the card except the header....
If you buy sd cards off ebay make sure the seller has been a member for a few years. If its really cheap and the seller has only just opened up shop, avoid them like the plague....

Test the card if its a fake return to ebay or bin it .

Yep, those cards that are tampered with are useless as they will always return the wrong amount of space available. Once you go over whats available you get data corruption. Look at the packaging. See if the stated size is actually a sticker stuck over the true value. I have seen that before - 32Gb stuck over a 4Gb card....
