Could somebody paste here the original HTC Polaris/Cruise Black screen, please...!!! I have a o2 Orbit 2 and the ROM doesn't offer the option for the black screen at the today's home. Instead of that, has a horrible Sunrise Screen which uses black menus

Do you mean this screen? It's not the fully original.

THX isv51, but didn't work, I have no option to choose a black theme on the today screen and when i choose the standard Sunrise screen from o2 and I take another picture (HTC grey) for the background, just look horrible.
Hi,
Don't know if it's of any use but I found a cab file in the windows folder on the TC. HTC_Home_PPC_Blue.CAB If this is the file that runs during customization might be helpful. If you're interested I could upload it for u (not sure about the 'blue' part though).
Do you want the Htc.tsk ?

I don't know about Metanol but I would love the HTC.tsk (I think).
I have an O2 XDA Orbit (i.e. the Artemis-based one not the new Orbit 2 Polaris-based device) and I also like the black colour scheme that HTC use. I've flashed my device to the official O2 WM6 ROM and I don't have (or need) the fancy HTC tabbed Today screen but what I would really like is to be able to change the colours on the default WM6 Crossbow theme to the HTC black colours. I think that if I just install a suitable tsk then this will do it won't it?
If the above is correct then please do post the HTC.tsk and hopefully that might solve Metanol's problem too.

HTC_Home_PPC_Blue.CAB
qtek_metanol I think this is relevant

I will upload the HTC_Home_PPC_Blue.CAB in a couple of hours.
Sorry friends, I really forgot that thread, well, actually I have found the file that i was looking for, the HTC default.tsk.
I'll post it here for some other Orbit 2 users who want to get the simple original black HTC Home screen and so get the possibility to switch off the stardard Sunrise Home Screen.
And so looks the HTC default.
Hi qtek_metanol - i am new to this site and i just recently purchased an O2 Orbit 2 in UK. Managed to find this old thread.
I too would like to get the HTC home screen rather than the O2 theme. Can you let me know if all i need to do is add the HTC default.tsk file to my device under Windows directory to get the HTC home setup. Would this then give me a choice on my Today menu where i can select between O2 and HTC Home?
Finally can you confirm this won;t affect my original settings on my device and if i want to remove it all i need to do is delete the HTC default.tsk file and that would set my phone back to as it was originally?
Thanks
forgot to add that i tried loading the 6 button version and had lots of trouble with that hence i thought maybe the original HTC home (4 button) from the Polaris/Touch Cruise would work better on my Orbit 2. Can you confirm also this is the original Home screen you get on the TC?
Cheers
Hello,
I have a HTC P3600 and after i make a hard reset the screen goes all black, i already try flash the phone but don't result.

First of all, many thanks for making this forum so useful!
Now, does anyone know if it's possible to have the HTC Home plug, extracted from HTC Touch, working in our devices?
Thank you for your time!

i am a little bit confused... i thought htc homeplug is different from htc home
HTC home will work on universal with no graphical defects if you are running a trueVGA resolution. on QVGA however, it will still work but most of the icons will be cut off. it contains a clock, weather info, launcher, quickdial, music today controller and profile (more like spb mobile shell but less features)
HTC homeplug will work on both qvga and vga. they contain shortcuts to battery, screen rotate, and comm manager. i read somewhere in the forums where you can add more shortcuts to this plugin...
...pls correct me if i am wrong regarding home vs homeplug... i had the homeplug plugin before when using indra's rom and installed htc home at the same time... hmmm...

So how do I make one of them go away? Is there anyway, or do I just have to live with it? Thanks for any help

Replace "BatteryIndicator.exe" in /Windows with the included file... It worked in WM5 it's should work also in WM6...
You'll get the sound icon instead of the battery on the top.
is there any way to have both of them? like the speaker icon and either the palm or the WM battery icon?
I don't think so... BatteryIndicator.exe is a hack added by palm to override this speaker icon because they do not want you to get to that menu (probably because of the vibrate mode there, they want to enable vibration with the button on top...)
ce some one place screen shots of whot it look like plz !

I'm a noob at this forum and I'm looking to make my Palm Treo 750 like the new iPhone. I hear that HTC is a step in that direction, so my question to you all is how do you get the HTC program?
Hi All,
Can someone assist me plz..
I just basically want to change my them from the Vodafone Red and White TF3D to the original HTC Black & White theme.
What is te easiest way to do this without having to install alot of other stuff or shag my handset
Any help , well appreciated
I go along with the wish to revert the Vodafone TF3D screens to the original HTC versions - much smarter. Anyone have any solutions?
Guys, read read and read some more. (the Wiki to be more specific)
It is very very easy.
1. HardSpl your phone (make a donation to the kind people who made it for you) It is just a matter of plugging your phone into your pc, and clicking an EXE file.
2. Download the Shipped HTC rom you want 1.90 is suggested. and double click that exe file.
Then you are done.
I had the HTC Black theme beamed to me today from a friends diamond..but when i select it it just shows as the vodafone red and white theme..i dont really want to install the all the spl stuff just for the one thing.
Surely there is an easier way around this//?/
I NEED HELP plzzzzz

No need to completely re-flash if its just the look and feel your after......
Check out the following Diamond Thread to get your selves started (YES - Works fine on the Pro too!)

Once your up and running and get a little more confident and adventurous - maybe share a little of what you change here too?

thx alote
so when i do this (your first suggestion) and i download the HTC Black theme
will it be exatly like the orignal (black) 3d flow as on the HTC. PRO
(i got a pro myself)
Problem with black theme on Touch Pro
I've downloaded the black theme and installed it with TF3D config 0.6.7
The install went perfectly and 958% of the theme works great.
However 5% does not and this is for me a very important 5%.
With the HTC weather app (and then the 5 day forecast), the letters of the 5 days are black one a black background. That's noy very handy. This happens also in the music list of the TF3D music player.
And in this player there is one other problem. When I go to the library (all music) the icon-bar stays the same as the standard TF3D, while ot should change to a bar that gives me the option of albums, genres, playlists and so on. I don't get this specific bar with this theme. When I change it back to my original Vodafone Red en White it all works perfectly. However I really don't like those colors. Can someone help me with these issues on changing the theme to original black.
i'm having the exact same problem with my pro.
black on black in the application list and the no horizontal bar in the music player
does anyone know why that happens? thanks for your help
// edit: i just tried it another time: tf3d config deletes 1095 manila files but only copies 989 back on the device. can someone confirm that?
hey guys,
i know there are a bunch of threads out there already which deal with themes and tf3dconfig 0.6.7 and everything. but it seems like there's been quite a few issues with the original o2 ROM TF3D and the attempt to install the black htc theme.
I tried to use tf3dconfig 0.6.7 and use the diamond htc black theme here from the forum. The installation works quite alright, everything seems nice but the music player doesn't show the artist/genre/track/album horizontal menu and also is the list of applications black on black.
Maybe there are a few manila files missing or something?
I don't really want to flash my rom since there's only a beta out of the german romeos and i need a stable working phone - but the blue o2 theme is really ugly.
Are there any ideas out there what's going wrong and how to fix that problem? Or could you tell me which manila files have to be edited in order to see the custom menu bar in the music player and the black font color in the list of all applications?
I think this is also happening with the Vodafone Version of TF3D
Regards
Oli
Yes, I have the exact same problem as well with my Vodaphone Touch Pro, I've scouted through the forums for hours while at college and have not seen a solution for this, I'm guessing the only work around would be to flash the phone?
Same problem here. Have a MDA Vario IV (T-Mobile Version) and I have the same issue as you when installing the original theme.
I am searching for a solution for two days now and I haven't find anything yet.
I don't need the original HTC theme, I would be lucky with any "magentaless theme" that works.
I have found a working black theme, but it is on german.
for tf3d:
http://rapidshare.com/files/137214550/Mossi_TF3D.zip.html
and for wm6.1:
http://rapidshare.com/files/131850418/Htc_black.zip.html
Now the colors are right, but I think tf3d is much slower now. I have already done all tweaks for optimizing the performance.
Is there any solution?
hey very cool!
but i think that version is older than my current one.
where'd you find that one?

I found it in this forum
http://www.ppc-phones.de/punforum/viewtopic.php?pid=56565
I installed the theme. It's not that slow that I can't use it but with the original T-Mobile theme TF3D was much faster.
well i installed it just now and it isn't slower than the o2 tf3d version really.
but if you go to settings -> connections this page appears still in blue in tf3d but i don't really mind that (i don't open that page too often since i have secondtoday)
do you know how i can change the dropdown background when i click on start in the upper left corner? cause that's still blue too
thanks
go to start - settings - today and there are the themes for wm6.1.
there you choose this file:
http://rapidshare.com/files/13185041...black.zip.html
(I copied it to the windowsfolder before selecting it in the settings)
with the t-mobile theme the first screen (the one with the clock) was there immediately when I switched to it on tf3d. now it needs half a second, but it is ok for me.
hi,
this rapidshare link doesn´t work.
any other link or solution? that blue o2 theme is soooo ugly
Hi, I got my HTC Touch Pro today as an XDA Serra. I've already flashed ROMeOS² v1.40.1 onto it, but wondered how I could remove the O2 startup screen?
Does anyone have any other ROM recommendations over the ROMeOS² v1.40.1 one?
thanks
search for splash screens for rapheal
This is the ROMeOS Splashscreen. Or
This is the default HTC Splashscreen.
Just "flash" it and you're done.
HTH
Change the splash screen
Its really easy to do this. Load Advanced Configuration 3.3 which is free to download from xda developers. Once loaded you will see an item called Spalsh Screen and also HTC animation (or at least that is what I have on my TP but it isnt a branded version). Open this up and you will see an entry called MS splash screen start up. Change this to whatever graphic file you have. You may also need to go into the HTC animation and change the Startup Gif as well. Its probably best to use the same type of file that is currently used. You can also change the sound or by purely deleting the entry you get no sound on startup. Reset. Job done!
Great, thanks for the help guys
