Thanx to Dr. Martin Gonzo in this thread, we can now set the comm manager to the new HTC style!
Dr. Martin Gonzo said:
Here you go. Here is what I changed to it : it is the commmanager from HTC s730, I changed the skin, added vibrate option, created an icon for it and removed some other fonctions I don't use.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Instructions:
Download the comm manager zip below and unpack the files into the windows folder.
the 2 things to change/add in the registry are:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\CommManager]
"DisableButtonText"=dword:3 (sets the list-style comm manager)
"SupportedFunctions"=dword:6 (sets 6 buttons)
another thing: If you want to have the vibrate button instead of the directpush button in the list, simply rename in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\CommManager the folders 6 and 4
Good luck!
Additional info about comm manager:
in this Hermes thread ppl are discussing about the various comm manager options.
I'll copy them here and add some:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager]
"TurnOffPhoneDelay"=dword:0 ----> 0(delay) or 1(No Delay)
"DoNotQueryGPRS"=dword:0 ------>0 or 1 (Not sure what it does, defaulted to 0)
"UseMSFlightMode"=dword:0 ------> 0 or 1 Self Explaination
"TurnOnWLANInFlightMode"=dword:0 ------> 0 or 1(Flightmode Off will turn on WLAN together with Phone and Bluetooth)
"TextColor"=dword:0 -----> 0(white) or 1(Base Hue Color)
"EmptyMenuBar"=dword:0 ------>0(MenuEnabled) or 1(Menu Disabled)
"DefaultScheme"="" -------->use with DinamicBGImage
"SecondBMPResource"="" -------->Use with DinamicBGImage
"DynamicBGImage"=dword:0 ----> 0(static BG) or 1(Dynamic BG) Have not try this yet
"TurnOffAUTDInFlightMode"=dword:0 ----> 0 or 1 self explaination(AUTD is Push Email)
"UseBluetoothCPL"=dword:1 (Not sure what is does, defaulted to 1)
"DisableButtonText"=dword:3 (sets the list-style comm manager, set to 0 for button-style)
"SupportedFunctions"=dword:6 (sets 6 buttons)
So: play around with it and share which ones work on the Vox!
And here is the original skin !
It 's not work with me,
Could you please kindly provide the 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7 directories important informations?
I think it's something wrong about this.
Thanks please,
I meant the Data Communication bar is not come up, but I got ActiveSync instead.
I think the best is you just export the whole Comm Manager key and upload it here. Thank you again
EDIT:
Stupid question, I already have it:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\CommManager]

I think the CommManager.exe.040C.mui as I had two other CommManager.exe.0407.mui and CommManager.exe.0409.mui. It is not working here. Any ideas?
@frauhottelman:
you publish the wrong registrydump:
-the SupportedFunctions must be 6 instead of 5
-in the folders 4, 5 and 6 you have 3x vibrate. If you want to see Vibrate, put it as 4 and make 5 DataDisconnection and 6 AUTD
- what is exactly your question about the mui?
@mobile24h:
- I don't understand your question. Don't you see the new comm at all or are you speaking about 1 specific line in the comm manager?
I know the vibrating thing, but that is the registry dump which i got from Dr. Martin Gonzo, I changed that already. The thing is I think mobile24h has the same problem, the Comm manager shows up, but it is the old design from the S710 now with only 6 buttons! That is all that shows up and it is stupid, because the soft keys don't work and the icon bar on top with battery and so on doesn't show up!

try playing around with the "DisableButtonText"=dword:3 function. Change it to 0, 1, 2, 4 etc. I have the ARA 1.27 rom, and it works perfect for me. The setting 0 is the classic version for me, and 3 the new one.
Just use a taskmanager to kill the commmanager proces, and start it again after just adjusted the setting to see the results!
good luck, let me know if this helped!
ps, which language ru using? Mine is english, so the mui is 0409
Mh I tried from 0-5 but it didn't change anything. I am using German, but I tried with US and UK English as well. Maybe the old ROM I am using 1.16.407.1 doesn't support it?!
Hey could you upload the commManager.exe from Windows? Maybe that changed with the new rom!?
Maybe a stupid question, but how do I copy the files to the windows directory. I'm not able to overwrite some files. (They are in use...)
Thanks in advance for the help.
You have to stop the processes which use these files. E.g. if you want to overwrite something that is used by the CommManager.exe, you have to kill that process.
I am closer now, the problem is that the CommManager.exe and CommManagerRes.dll are hidden and I didn't copy them. But now the problem is that it doesn't show text like Bluetooth or Wifi
YEAH
It finally works!!!!!!!!
Here I made a package without hidden files. Just kill CommManager.exe, copy contents of windows folder to your phone's windows folder and overwrite all. Then apply CommManager.reg. Done
thank you or cleaning my messy work !
could someone post polish mui file for this comm manager? (with 415 number in filename)
Hm I don't think anybody has, but you can change the MUI yourself. Just rename it to the right number and open with notepad. There you should see some weired stuff and then things like S e t t i n g s i think when you just change all of them to polish it should work?! Would you try that and then report back if it works?
You should rather use a resource hacker program instead of notepad. That's what I did and it works. Search for reshack or XN Resource Editor in Google
ok I've translated almoust everything but in english mui file there are some french words, if someone could translate it to english I would be grateful
Words:
"Désactiver toutes les connections"
"Désactiver radio" - Is that mean the same as "Turn off phone"?
"Relancer les connections"

(source: ppc-welt.info)
The ExtROM of the MDA Compact (aka XDAIIi, Magician) can be accessed by soft-resetting AFTER having gone thru the initial startup (calibrate screen and all that) and BEFORE the customisation.
The ExtROM will then be visible.
Normally during customisation "Delete_vdisk_shortcut_ger.cab" or (a similar cab on non-T-Mobile Magician) will make the ExtROM invisible. The ExtROM stays locked, so you can only copy things off!!
In the ExtROM appear to be ywo interesting cabs:
- "T9.cab"or "Intellipad.cab" which contains a new SIP with T9 facilities. Should work flawlessly on ie a Himalaya.
- "IntelliDailer.cab" which contains the new dialer which features a T9 contact lookup. On ppc-welt.info it was stated that it doesnt work flawlessly on a Himalaya, but maybe that can be figured out?
There are some german language versions going round, but I also see the need of getting the English language versions of both IntelliPad and Intellidialer . . .
and here it is...
and remeber, these files are for test purposes only
Thanks, I will try/test something with it.
Hopefully the English version pops up one of these days.
BTW, I opened the cab that hides the ExTROM (aka VDisk) on Magician. In it there is a xml-file that seems to do the hiding trick:
<characteristic type="HKCU\Software\HTC\Customize">
<parm name="DelFileCount" value="1" datatype="integer" />
<parm name="DelFile1" value="\Windows\AutoStart\LoadVDisk.lnk" datatype="string" />
</characteristic>
Should be possible to create a CAB that inverts this hiding . . . .(I gues by removing the two keys DelFileCount and DelFile1)
I have tried to install intellidialer.cab,
but I only see my dial skin changed to T-mobile style,
how to enable the T9 dialer ? any ideas ?
mmm, that definitely IS the question.
isnt there any tools/setting option?
I noticed this new dialer also has the 'old style' pictures in it. Guess it is possible to choose between onld-style-dialer and IntelliDialer then.
same problem too...
Intellidialer
seems to work great on sorting contacts on PDA2K.
After installing I switched my dial pad skin back to xda skin chooser and all works great.
Steve
Steve: You got it working then?
Must be the WM2003SE os the Blue Angel features (and the Himalaya lacks . . .)
For now: Pity for us . . . .
Add Blackberry -anyone?
My biggest wishlist...
Possible to add Blackberry Connect extracted from XDA II and cook it in this XDA IIi ExtROM?
I don't know if it helps but on Compactjam I read the following:
To view or hide the EXTENDED_ROM of the MDA Compact without a hard reset, do the following...
Edit the registry key...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\VDisk\ and add a DWord key with the follwing value:
To hide...
MountFlags=1
To Show...
MountFlags=0
...and do a soft reset.
It doesn't work.
@little_frog
Well you must be doing something wrong then. I just tried it and I can indeed show or hide the Extended_ROM.
It didnt work on mine as well.
My VDisk reg setting reads:
Folder : Extended_Rom
MountFlags : 0 (added by me)
Name : Extended_Rom
Is it any difference from yours?
It didnt work on mine as well.

You don't need to change anything in registry.
Just run \Windows\LoadVDisk.exe to see Extended Rom folder.
This folder will be visible without soft reset.
After soft reset you don't see it again.
Darek
i aint got that on my imate jam?
Just go to your WIndows folder and scroll down, you will see a file named LoadVdisk.exe, run it and you will see the ext rom folder. Worked on my MDA Compact.

Nice job there, what is the free ROM left after flashing?
It would be better if the chinese yahei font can be removed in the next build
I installed it. Good looking rom. In stalled the English xt9.cab and got rid of the Chinese stuff. Com manager key doesnt work. I would like to reroute that key to the WM6 commanager. Registry edit and taskmanager are not in the rom and should be installed afterwards. Bootlogo looks great. STD Mobile provider logo. Camera is great. All I need now is a Dutch MUI. Good work!

Thanks for the information!
China rulez! ;-)
Please let the ROM creator know we apreciate very much their work.
It would be great to join efforts and share knowledge between the two teams (koxo.com and xda-developers.com) in order to get the greatest ROM ever (perhaps better than MS ).
BTW: If the chinese fonts is a must for the authors, then I'll suggest to use a lighter version. I recall to see a sunXXX font that was only about 4MB, instead of the 10MB that this font "steals" from the precious memory. ;-)
Same here, please let the author know we truly appreciate his effort

Yahei Font will be removed.
Long_Home links to celetask, a Chinese taskmanager.
Registry edit is in the accessories.
This ROM is for EN Interface users in China.
The coming one would be for EN.
Looking forward to it, YOU ROX !!!
Kudos to the author of the ROM! It looks damn good!
BTW, if someone has problems with simplified Chinese (or the above service in particular) I uploaded the ROM to www.mybigdir.com. The ID of the file is 2454. It should be easier for someone who does not have any friend in Beijing, Chongqing or Hohhot

Just last night its still 2007.07.28 version, now after a day had passed they already have 2007.07.29 version. Anyway, been using this chinese version (I said chinese not because it was cooked by someone who is in China or Taipe or Hongkong but because the ROM language is in chinese. With some guess works in its Settings option you can change it to US English and the locale to English(UK) or whatever you want. Unfortunately, initially all menus are in chinese so you have to guess where is the Settings option, the language and locale option. But after guessing it and restarting the phone, every thing will be in english already).
For my observations:
1. The red letters during startup including the OS version is already gone
2. The startup screen are basic WM6 startup screens
3. STK services is working great
4. It has a Dopod SMStools pack
5. It has Automatic Keylock ver. 3.87
6. It has MultiFlashlight ver. 1.01 (in Chinese language)
7. It has an Iconor Listview (it toggles Gridview and Listview of Start
Menu)
8. It has WM5Storage 1.75 (Chinese language)
9. Two (2) File Explorers were included (the built in File Explorer and HTC File Manager ver. 1.41 Build 22448)
10. Low light is already present (after startup, the phone will be already in low light mode)
11. It has HTC Task Manager ver. 1.22 Build 26137
12. Comm Manager and Internet Sharing are also included
13. Clear Storage is incorporated within the Settings (found after the System Information option)
14. The WIFI is working great (I dont know about the Bluetooth and GPRS, haven't tried it yet)
15. I has a built in Registry Editor and CeleTask 2.2 both in Chinese language (what I do, I overwrite the Registry Editor.exe and CeleTask.exe inside the root \Windows folder with the English version I have using HTC File Manager)
16. The Contacts menu have a SIM Manager ver. 1.0 Build 4.36.365 option which is developed by Dopod
17. Clock and Date are shown when you press the Unlock key
18. For speed, no question bout it. I think all version of WM6 ROM speed is great compared to WM5.
18. No HTC Camera 4.0, so option is to install Cool Camera 1.15 coz if HTC Camera 4.0 cab be installed lots of issues are coming out like the delay during voice calls and speed issue (its a pity coz I started to like HTC Camera 4.0, seems it has a good picture quality compared to Cool Camera 1.15 and the HTC Camera interface is cool)
19. No built-in WM6 Office (but its good, at least users have the option of installing it or not)
20. Size of the letters are so thin (solution is to tweak the registry settings by activating Cleartype and increasing the font weight of System font, Pop up Font, Bar Font, OOM font. Unfortunately Start and Contacts font in Homescreen remains thin but in SMS font, there's a big difference. During reading and writing SMS, the font weight is in accordance to what you have set)
21. No built in input method. So before writing or composing SMS be sure to install first input methods you want (I installed English xT9) else you can only write numbers and nothing else.
22. No MMS (well I dont care about it, Im not fond of using it...)
Thats all for now...

Looking forward for a light EN version.
Regarding EN 7.28:
-the only annoying thing found was the startup and shutdown sounds (too loud).
- RegEdit, Voice command, ... included (cool)
- comm manager not present
- Wireless manager missing wifi
- No taskMgr (I was expecting celetask which I like very much)
It looks very nice and stable to me, I'll keep using it, while there´s not a new EN version.
Anyway: VERY GOOD Work !

Can we turn off that sound? Best of all, can we have a vanilla version with only essential item installed ?

Thank for your test.
The sounds will be changed next build.
And would change wireless manager to common manager
long_home.lnk linked to celetask already.
The font may not change in the next few builds. And may I ask what font you like, segou ui?

Celetask confirmed. Cool! ;-)
I suppose the best font is segoe, small file nice font. I think this is the standard fon in WM6 western versions.
I my personal case having a chinese font is not a big problem (besides the few rom space left), since I travel a lot to China and I find it useful to have some adresses in chinese to show to the taxi drivers Anyway, this font change I could do it over a vanilla WM6 EN version.

But then, it would be a big problem to most of us here, I would suggest splitting the chinese font but attach as a separate cab
I would prefer the standard WM6 font, cleartype

Install a language pack http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321748
This Kitchen has built in AT&T customize on first install and on HR, if you don't need it just remove the OEMOPERATORS FOLDER from the OEM Folder.
This build contains SYS and ROM in "Part #1" and OEM packages in "Part #2"
This Kitchen is so complete I had to break into 2 parts. Download and extract both parts and put all files and folders into one directory to use.
I am not responsible if you don't know what you are doing and brick your phone, but in the spirit of XDA-Developers I am sure someone here willing to help!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Latest SYS and ROM (part1) Ver8.1.0
Latest OEM Packages (part2) Ver8.1.0
Version Information:
ALL "call home" issues have been castrated! No more Customer feedback.
SDHS Memory should be full supported now! Seems to have always been present in the Official MS Wizard ROM.
All Phone issues resolved! Use the proper radio for your carrier and phone.
Wifi Issues resolved! Automatically connect to preferred networks.
Connect to Internet Via Active Sync.
For Clarification:
1) This is the original InGeNeTiCs' ROM all I did in this Version is strip out the "call home" stuff, added a few dlls that were missing but were needed for some of the HTC/touch apps (these files can be found in sys/missing files).
2) There are two OEMOPERATORS folders, one in OEM and one in SYS the one in OEM is one I put there as a example of how you can add your own cab files for settings, splash screen or whatever it is you need simply edit the config.txt file and put whatever files in the files you need. *I am not going to to into great detail how to do this all it takes is a little common since. You can delete mine if you like.
3) There are no hidden, super secret, xda-elite only, make my Wizard fly, bull**** tweaks included. just a clean, won't leave a bad taste in your mouth unless you burn it, Kitchen.
4) My only reason for creating this kitchen is to prove that the "InGeNeTiCs'- Official Microsoft-Made Specifically for the Wizard-Drivers and all ROM" is as solid and stable as any other ROM or kitchen out there if done right. Other than all I did is create and add a lot of OEM packages so you could have choices in life.
The base is like Coca-Cola "Original".
Everything works as it should the only limitations are M$ related!
This has been a fun ride but the ride seems to have come to an end.
This release is so stable that I can not bear to call it a beta anymore.
A HUGE THANK YOU to all that have contributed to this project. In the end I'm sure we all wanted WM6 but we wanted a stable version that didn't crash, lock up, and just plain ol' worked!
Credits to the ones that made the tools to make this possible: faria, anichillus, bepe and mattk_r for asking me to take the plunge.
The testers, who without their reports this would not have been possible:

Working on the "TOUCH CAMERA"!
hi
can i bea beta tester can you send me the liknk to download
First Thoughts.....
This ROM looks to be more stable than the last one, and also I see that the reboot slowdown issue is non-existent.(It would slow down horribly on the 3rd-or-so reboot/SR) Overall, faster.
HTC AudioManager + Recorder are NOT working, but maybe that's just a package issue (I used one of my packages I had lying around). Pretty much that's it.
Wi-Fi is OK, nothing major. No phone issues as of yet.
I did not test the Home Plugin because I used my 6-tab plug. That works quite well.App Launching is a little bit faster, or maybe that would just be me
Word completion works,KB is fine (tested in Notes)
I would give it a 9.5/10 (only because of no Touch camera ,otherwise, it rocks!)
Thanks for your input!

Audio manager package that is in OEM that was included in this build is reworked for this kitchen and works fine. Recorder is in process still.
Do you know of a working 4. camera package or one in a pre-built Wizard ROM?
Do you have a Home Plugin OEM to incorporated?

This works with the included *cities.xml file. The PNGs are compressed to increase speed. Works fine. It's in color.
Got AM working (my mistake, used a wrong package) but VoiceRec is still offline. Not that I use it all that much.
I think I have a bug : you need to have WMP installed to get AM working.
EDIT: New package with "Pro" icons added.

Enable all sounds
Remove clock and put battery indicator on top instead (if you press & hold it will bring up power/battery tab).
Add day and date to touch home plug-in you can change it to display as you like:
dddd will give you day of week as a word as in "Thursday", dd will give you date style (numeric day of the month) as in "30" without quotes of course.
The same is true for month mmmm and year yyyy so experiment!

HTC WMP today plug in
I added a bunch of packages to the kitchen and have de-bugged most of them, this one I can't find. During the OS Build the process errors out at "OEM\HTC WMP Today Plug-in" with a dialog that says "The file 'temp\dump\WmpPluginToday.dll' already exists. Know I know this is telling me that a previous package has used this dll flile, what I can't find is which one it is!
Any input greatly appriciated.

HTC X-Button 1.5 offers nothing more over 1.0. 1.0 works fine with this ROM ver 5.0 (I use it)
But, if you really want it ,try mattk's package.

Ok, I already took both the 1.5 ver out of OEM. Now its complaining about sys/touchflo.dll.
edit; NOob error... left both touchflo and non-touchflo enabled in the build... fixed.
Have you built with the NON-TouchFlo dll selected?

That's what's in my current build. Nothing major to report of.
1st flash test report
Ok,
So I got the build to run with Merlin's help (thank you Sir). Flashed back to T-Mobile 2.26, up to IPL/SPL 3.08 and GSM 2.69.11 then the kitchen build.
First the good news:
1. For the first time in a dozen or so ROMs I have flashed Voice Command workes flawlessly! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!
2. Basic functions work good, no glaring errors.
3. As theloon noted, the backlight controls will not lock the wizard.
The bad news:
1. If I attempt to launch any CAB file (including the 2.69 radio fix) I get a message saying "CAB failed to load"
2. see #3 above, it doesnt lock the wizard, it however will not open backlight control either. recommend taking this out of the launcher and just leave it in the settings page.
3. HTC Audio manager, if I attempt to open any audio file I immediatly get a message saying "critically low on system memory..." WMP still works fine.
4. The dastardly weather application doenst like the XML file i built for it. I wish there was a way to test that without building. (see questions below)
5. I used merlin's 6 button HTC home plug in, looks very nice BTW, couldnt do much testing on it since my contacts DB is at work. My only negative on this one, the musical note icon (far right) is very hard to see. I dont know who did the icon art but perhaps we could find a better icon?
6. I tried loading the AT&T extended ROM as part of this build, bad idea. The flash gets to 5% and crashes... took it out, flashes fine.
Questions:
1. Is there a way to test the weather XML file without building it into the ROM? IE: If i build the the ROM with the weather XML file included in the build I can only edit it. I cant delete, replace etc. So I was thinking that if I took it out of the build and put the file in after, maybe I could speed up testing.
2. Several of the packages dont seem to have any output, IE: the WMP home plug in, I dont see anything on the home screen that relates to WMP?
So there it is, I have to re-flash to a fully working ROM before I go to work tomorrow. I will be on line all day (from my office) so post away..
thanks Loon for letting me test this, great fun!

LOL? I think not dear Senior Member... I have tried every possible way to delete that file, stop the plug included. The file properties say "included in ROM" and will not allow changes to file prop. Thats why I asked about building without it, so the file properties would allow changes.

What I can deduce from your observations all/most of your "hanging" problems seem to stem from the final size when you build your ROM.
I have experienced this myself, the max size for a wizard rom is around 56 MB for the ROM, but that does not include Boot loaders, Radio and Extended ROM.
In my case my phone is locked so the "customize" just uses storage/program space and does some reg tweaks.
If you want more space in your build you can use the compression tools located elsewhere in this forum.
As for the Home Plug weather XML make sure it's attributes are not set to "read only" and you should be able to exchange them at will and SR to test there usability.
My HTC Audio Manager works flawlessly not sure what you did! be careful using other OEM packages, the ones I included in this beta were designed and tested to work with this beta.
FYI HTC Audio Manager was built using Windows Media SDK so it uses components of WMP (dlls and such), I will probably move those components to different directories.
Backlight is a matter of a redirect/link.
Feel free to fix any/all issues and post for everyone to test!!!

...but tell me, can you "overwrite" that ROM file? you should...
This ROM was linked in the WM6.1Pro thread, but it is a Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard ROM. I don't have the build information available, because the About applet is missing.
It defaults to CHS (Chinese), but English is included. You'll either have to regedit the language (HKCU\MUI ... set the value to 0x409) or change it "blind" via Settings/Regional Settings.

plus

2-open/close sounds
3-black screen saver
4-resco explorer
5-new icon
Anybody else going to report on this rom?
I flashed it and ran out of room on the Rom pretty quick. I put on M$ VC 1.6, Live messenger, T-9 English in the main memory, then I put on Live Search, Google Maps, Sirius, Office, Adobe, and oxiosmemory. I was left with about 3mb on the main Rom.
Every reboot, It went back to chinese in the Regional settings, so I had to keep resetting that back to English. Other than that. Fast as ever. Everything works on it.

This is realy cool
I have tested this version and Its working preatty fast and sooth. MY SP5 picks all nicely and all net options and key mappings are fine. aditional optios for activating/deactivating sms threading. New pannel to run your own programes from home screen ...if you are fine with xml, you can custermize this the way you want. basicly having extended mail box and Nitrogens screen notificantions from his WM6 palitinum rom ...this is the best version so far.
As usual , again a request for all our experts (nitro specialy for you ) just use this kernal as the base and release a extended version like WM6 palitinum SP1.

WM does not identify taga as a native picture format. use .ico/png/gif or jpg.
further you can use icon off the any DLL file.however you have know about icon ID and call that in Picture path:
Eg: Picture path : 4601 , means icon "play".
Lead it into the Windows Directory, or, Just open the registry with registry editor and see how they did it. I could only get a few to work. I ran out of Ram so I flashed back to Gnats rom.
This is quite possibly the best rom I have tried. I've been using it for a couple of days and still haven't found a bug I couldn't fix myself.

Ok, You may need to have a addon with the plugin, to access the default icon from the any app you are going to access with. this is still in opening stage and sure, our experts will come up with more solutions with addon. anyway sice this is very fine tuned OEm tornado 6.1 rom I strongly recomending not to go with any registry edits for just showing the default icon. you have 2 solutions, 1. use any icon packeger and dump the default icon from your app, copy it to your phone then update the path using icon path. 2. use smiler icon from the dll.
I just found the same subject off another thread and you may find more advance options for custermizing this slider.

Based fully on ammars 12 button action screen for HD. When I installed the ammars version, I found out, that bluetooth toggle was not working and also no button was assigned after install. So I changed the "ToggleBTh.exe" inside the cab for a different version working with LEO and I also assigned the left soft key as the action button. Finally I changed the text in the picture of psshutXP to reflect the device it's used on.
As you can see, I haven't done anything big, just slight modifications, so all the credit still goes to ammar for his HD version and to metkosas as the first creator. Anyway I like this piece of soft and I thought I'd share enjoy
Original ammars post can be found HERE.
If you want to alter the function of any button, check out THIS post which contains a very good how-to.
[Update 22/11/2009]
- v 1.2
- changed cab registry modifications - now working for non-english OS
[Update 21/11/2009]
- v 1.1
- implemented suggestion from post 6 - HTC Contact Editor instead of the old MS one
[Update 20/11/2009]
- replaced "ToggleBTh.exe" used by ammar with a version compatible with LEO
- slight change in graphics od psshutXP (text mostly)
- action assigned to the left soft key
- removed the "today icon" option, as it has no use in manilla
I have uploaded two versions. The first one links the button "gps" to googlemaps. The second one is for those of you, that use iGO8.
Warning: iGO8.exe has to be installed in "\program files\iGO8\iGO8.exe"
Install HD2 12 Button Action Screen to the device not SD!
Very nice, good work!
One question: I've been looking for a simple bluetooth toggle app that works on the Leo, seems you found one, could you post that seperately?

But nice to see this also.
Thanks!
So much more useful than a stupid phone soft key that duplicates the function of the hardware button 1cm below it.
Dupe post

Detxtrosan. Thanks for updating it to work for Leo.
Can I offeer a suggestion to all users and also you to update the cab file so that the New Contact link on the Action Screen takes you to the better looking HTC Contact Editor as opposed to the Microsoft old Contact Editor. Here is the reg tweak...
HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\ActionScreen\App_6
Change path to: \windows\ContactEditor.exe
Also delete text in Param field.
Thanks!
Good idea, I'll do that, thanks for the suggestion.
GPS and Shutdown is not working for me, just takes me back to homescreen.
What version did you download? As for the GPS problem, the answer could be that you downloaded an iGo8 version and you don't have iGo8 installed/installed in the right directory. As for shutdown, I'll have to look into it according to the version you downloaded.
Very good!
Would it be possible for you to include a Tomtom version?
For those, who have installed IGO in their Storage Card (or somewhere else than Program Files\IGO) ...
Go to HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\ActionScreen\App_10
Change Path to the path of your IGO8.exe
SOFT RESET
And now you`re ready to go !
P.S. Thanks for the wonderful application !!!!
I downloaded "HD2_12_button_HD_action_screen_v1.1.cab" so no iGo8 version. When i press GPS or Shutdown i get the loading circles and then back to homescreen, no error or anything.
Do you have a branded version of HD2? Could you check if you have the directory psShutXP after the cab install? The action screen points to the file: \Program Files\psShutXP\psShutXP_nosc.exe
Also can you check if you have the googlemaps installed in the \program files\GoogleMaps directory? The action screen points to the file:\program files\GoogleMaps\GoogleMaps.exe

Here the same. I think it has something to do with language. My dir for shutdown isn't Program Files\psShutXP\psShutXP_nosc.exe but Programmabestanden\psShutXP\psShutXP_nosc.exe
Changed: HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\ActionScreen\App_11
Change path in to my language: Programmabestanden\psShutXP\psShutXP_nosc.exe
Same for GPS/Googlemaps App_10
OK. Thanks for your info mlkenschede. I found out, that the cab registry modifications were hard coded. I changed them to reflect system folders but unfortunately I have an english device so I need you guys to check this out for me. If it works for you I'll update the first post with this version.
MMSLauncher?
MMS tab just open up SMS?! hmm...
I checked it on the dutch version and indeed, shotdown is working correctly.

The thing is that there is no difference in the SMS/MMS dialogue in manilla 2.5. MMS is sent when you add an attachment. Maybe we could come up with a different action assigned to the MMS button instead on the LEO.

THX for the confirmation. Did the GPS button work too?
