How revert back to orange rom for warranty issues. - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

Hi I have a HTC TYTN II from orange and something has packed in with the display, it is very faint with virtually no color. As I havent dropped it anywhere i guess I should return it to orange for a replacement. I remember reading somthing on the forum about invalidaing the warranty if you change the rom. I have Sleuth 1.1, operating system only rom, installed I was wondering if any of the senior members could help in reflashing the original orange rom as I do not want to be left with a dud phone from orange. I have searched the forum for anything to do with the original orange rom but cannot find any answers. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Check this thread. There's a french Orange ROM. If it's not the one you need, you should post in this thread to ask someone to dump his ROM for you.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=337066

after you get your ROM restored to the Orange one you will probably also want to "remove" HardSPL. My best guess is that the HTC SPL is the closest you'll get to the Orange one. It probably won't be exactly correct but it will at least LOOK that way when you go into the Bootloader screen.

Hi thanks for the info. I need the english orange rom. I was silly to not create a backup before I flashed my sleuth 1.1 rom. Anyone out there who can help it wuld be greatly appreciated. If it is quite a bit of work I am willingly to pay for the inconvenience as I really need to return my phone for warranty issues.

Clarification of ROM Upgrading

Hi,
I am expecting my German XDA in the mail in the next few days.
I have been reading this forum for the past 2 weeks, and have tried to wade through all the great advice to educate myself on ROM upgrading issues. I would like to clarify that I understand this properly.
As I understand, in order to render my new XDA "O2-free" and customizable, not to mention english, I need to install a new ROM - probably the latest Imate ROM or maybe the PDAMobiz ROM.
Before I do this, should I Unlock the CID? From my reding, this will allow me to the install any ROM.
Is this an accurate understanding of everything involved?
Are there other better options to achieve my goal of a non-branded non-operator specific Jamin/Neo?
Is there a way to save my original German O2 ROM if it became necessary to return the unit for service?
I hope people do not object to thsi post. I know that it can be irritating when newbies post on topics which have already been discussed thoroughly. I have spent at least 2 weeks trying to educate myself on the procedures, and really would just like if some knowledgeable contributor could reassure me that I have not missed something obviuos.
Thanks,
Ronan

I'm still updating the page, but its working fine for my dutch s200 (now english dopod rom)
Hi,
I tried to follow the steps as outlined, but when I get to teh first soft reset, the device locks, and I can do nothing with it!
Please tell me how to fix it. Can I use bootloader?
How?
Thanks,
Ronan
Crisis averted!
Got into bootloader and installed the dopod rom.
Ro
Dear Ro,
have you upgrated your PDA?
Can you write your procedure?
Best regards
Daniele
please, read this topic and tell me what you think about it...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=54878
I entered bootloader then used the Dopod ROM with the modified romupdateutility.
I have not tried anything else.
Does anyone know of a solution for us SPL 2.15.0001 users? We seem to be very restricted in options.
Ro
Please, can you write the links where it is possible to download this rom and all the necessary files?

Thanks dears,
I have updated it with Dopod rom......but now....how can I update to I-mate JAMin (italian) rom?
Does someone have an Idea to how do it?
Thanks, thanks, thanks
Daniele
Yes, you have to go to ftp.clubimate.com there you can find the JAMin ROM's and also you can choose the language you want.
As you know, first, you must CID unlock, then you can download your favorite ROM. Tell us your opinon after install it.

Original Orange Rom needed for repair or return

Hello,
How or where can I download UK Orange Kaiser rom?
Thanks
Eresen
Me too!
I also could do with this if possible please? I've changed the ROM on my TyTnII recently and now I'm having SIM errors.
I went from the dodgy Orange ROM to Dutty's v4 ROM, which had no issues with SIM access (although it went dog slow, I think that was the 900+ contacts for Windows Live).
Because of the speed issue I went to the latest Sleuth ROM. That sped things up mightily but then I noticed after a while the phone would say the SIM wasn't installed. It would only come back after a power down for a while.
I went to the newest Dutty ROM in an attempt to fix things. This has also not worked.
Plan now is to get it back to the original Orange ROM and SPL so I can send it back to Orange as I thik the device is faulty.
I MAY be able to get hold of a Virgin Orange TyTnII from a colleague at work, but I'd rather not ask him if I can copy everything off his phone
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
****
For those that want to know my TyTnII specs
OS : Duttys Touch WWE v.5
Radio : 1.27.12.29
I have created a reconstructed Orange UK ROM (including splash screens) from my TyTn II before I started flashing. I have not tested this yet as I've had no need to - I'm very happy with the ROM I have and can't face re-flashing and starting again!
However, I'm more than happy to put this somewhere for you to try. As long as you have Hard SPL in place before flashing you shouldn't have any problems even if it doesn't quite work - i.e. you can always flash to another ROM if this one doesn't boot.
If after flashing my ROM all is well you can revert to the standard SPL by following the instructions found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=335568. The SPL version on the Orange TyTn II is 1.81 which can be downloaded from the above article.
Once you've flashed my Orange UK ROM and then put SPL 1.81 back in place you should be back to an original state again.

I too am on Orange. Happy with my Custel v2.1 ROM (used Dutty's No.4 , No.5, TouchFlo Betas/FINAL, but find Custel to be much faster). I'd LOVE this Orange dump as a "just in case" though. Does it come with the Radio? If so which version?
Can you ask one of the Mods if this can go into the Wiki or a Sticky Thread as they do this for a lot of original manufacturer ROMs

Doesn't come with a radio - you'll need to source that separately. The version that Orange ship is 1.27.12.29, although I haven't seen anywhere to download it
Before I submit this to the Wiki and/or sticky I'd like someone to try the ROM out - I don't want to flash mine as I'm happy with it as it is and I only have one Kaiser which is in constant use. Anyone want to volunteer to give it a try?

Yeah I don't mind, though I'm not on the original Orange radio anymore. I changed it yesterday! Someone asked me for a dump of the Rafio, but I don't know how to do this. I'll ask Custel, he might know... my understanding is that you have to do this from a dump of an original manufacturer, which is what you have here forza.
If we found out how to do this, would you be willing to try doing a backup of your radio?

Dumping of the radio is not possible, the only way to obtain the radio image is from an official shipped ROM released by htc/carrier/insider on xda or the like.
Sorry for the bad news

Thanks Custel, appreciate the help, albeit not what we wanted to hear!
Still, happy to try the Orange ROM dump, though this will be tested with either 1.27.12.17 or 1.27.14.09 radio as these are the one's I have

OK, I've eaten my own dog food and flashed the ROM to my Kaiser - thought it only fair to try it myself.
Good news is that it all works 100%, restores splash to Orange branding and the ROM worked perfectly returning the device to it's original craptastic Orange state.

Great job forza! Ask one of the Mods to pop this in the Wiki
Downloaded and flashed. Loaded up fine, but does NOT work on Radio 1.27.14.09. It DOES work on Radio 1.27.12.17 though (tested both)
Tell you one thing though ladies and gents.... load this up again and remind yourself just HOW RUBBISH the Orange build is compared to the great work by the likes of Custel, Dutty, Sleuth, etc.. This Rom, the UI, the whole thing feels antiquated and bolted together in a rush.
So now we know we can return the phone to Orange if we break them..., Cook On!!
thanks a million
I will flash the rom once I got the RMA email from HTC
and report back on success.

Tunc
Yeah, couldn't agree more. As soon as I got my Kaiser it was dumped and then flashed!

The 1.27.12.29 radio isn't available - you can get the 1.27.12.17 radio though which cjkerr confirms as working with this ROM. Whilst this isn't the exact version Orange shipped with the phone, hopefully it's close enough - it will give you a working device though.
You can grab it from here; ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Kaiser/Radio/
Same process as if you were flashing any other ROM - just might take a little longer though.

ftp is not working, I am getting "530 Permission denied".
I have tried my xda-developers username password, that did not worked.

to tell the truth ... i'm not comfortable installing a 'cooked' rom posted by dr. gonzo rom coz its first time got a windows device so if i screw the flashing theres no way i can get the original software back
thanks in advance
==================================================
IRRELEVENT POST - NO OFFICIAL WM6.1 FOR VOX
Dude, don't worry the Read me that comes with the Dr.Gonzo's ROM is self explanatory... And Dear, when i tried it for first time, I screwed my VOX too...But then a little patience and VOX wiki..I am up there with my VOX on WM 6.1..ANd now you can see my Signature, i love trying beta ROMsss.. Just in case anything happen to ur phone, give me a buzz at [email protected] may be i can be of some instant help to u... And i bet my life...Senior members on this forum are always ready to help ppl like us...So go ahead and try it..
Thanks to All ppl of this wonderful forum
Loku
there is no official WM6.1 ROM update for S710 ANYWHERE.
you can try the WM6.1 ROM by Dr.Gonzo, it is very good. It does have some minor glitches but a new user like you won't notice it for a while.
and yes this forum will help you if anything goes wrong, but before you do anything please read the wiki completely and when flashing follow ALL instruction(every single line) carefully. ALL!
You would like the WM6.1 rom.
and one more thing....
download the official 1.34 ROM also(its on the FTP),
then in case you screw it up while flashing, you will have the original ROM to fall back on.
thanks lokesh, prajith.
can u give me a link tot he original HTC S710 rom (1.34) u were telling me about?
thanks guys
Upadte HTC S710 with WM 6.1
Hi all, I recently bought HTC s710 and I love there are some queries see if anyone can guide me :
1. If I flash my device with WM 6.1 can i get the original OS by hard reset?
2. If I flash the device will i lose my warranty which is one year ?
3. If i spoil my device is there a way to restore original OS so that repair people do not come to know that I have flashed my device.
Thank you
1). If you flash WM6.1 or ANY ROM, you can not restore to the original ROM by hard reset. You will need to re-flash it.
2). Technically, yes you will lose warranty, however...
3). Patched USPL can be used so you can always restore the original factory/OEM ROM and still use your warranty should you have any hardware issues.
In short, I would not hesitate to flash WM6.1 due to those questions you have. The first thing I did when I got my S710 was flash a patched SPL and unofficial ROM.
h4waii has explained it beautifully.
now please read the wiki! all roms are there.
p.s. is my signature invisible
Yes, it is to all people that are new, it's a fact, they ask before they read, I am getting sick of it. The same questions every day!
XDA should force a reply to each sticky'd Wiki before posting rights are granted, until then only read should be applied to the account. Perhaps I will bring it up with a mod.
excellent idea h4waii!
Mods please do this.
make reply to wiki compulsory before posting.
Atleast ppl will visit there once
I don't think it's that easy to integrate that into vBulletin! lol

It's possible, the C4 forums have it in place on vBulliten 3.7.1, but I am sure they require it more than XDA does.
It would be better to require a certain amount of posts before you can start a new thread. Meh. I don't think it's that much of an issue anyways. I am sure if it was, something would be in place already.
Update error

Lost - Latest UK T-Mobile branded rom - help!

Can someone link me to the latest proper T-mobile UK rom please? So I can restore it all back to stock.
I need to send phone in for repair, lost where I dumped my rom. I can only find on the wicki/on here links to NL T-Mobile roms.
T-Mobile site has nothing for the mdaIII (kaiser).
Much appreciated,
Greg.
Failing that - anyone got a T-Mobile UK rom they dumped from their own phone?

Found this on Google. If it's what your after, can you let us know and someone (or you) will upload it and update the wiki.

What about http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1586817&postcount=2 (6th one down i think) taken from the FAQ, Wiki, Stickies & Tutorials thread? is that one not any good?
paradoox
Paradoox - it might be, thankyou. But it is listed as OS Only Big Storage - I presume this isn't how T-mobile shipped my Kaiser. The other one DaveShaw is listed as OS only so I presume it won't put my radio/splash back etc, like the one above.
Are either any use do you think if I want to put my Kaiser back exactly as it was out the box?
Greg.
hiya,
iv flashed the reconstructed rom iv refered to before, and it works fine, the original tmobile splash screen is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=374190 (post 5). im supposing you know how to flash it
in regards to the original radio, i honestly cant remember what it was. check out the kaiser ultimate radio thread, if i find out, il let you know.
paradoox
p.s the rom is reconstructed but as far as im aware its exactly the same as a normal release rom, its just someone has taken the tmobile uk operating system end product from a kaiser and made it into a rom as it has not been officially released. it flashes in exactly the same way as you'd flash anything else.
i have sent mine back one with a duttys rom on it, the technical support are that stupid they probably dont even know that flashing software on the device is even possible
i would say as long as u have the tmobile splash rom on it and 6.0, they wont even know the difference

Search and Wiki didn't yield... T-Mobile UK Original Shipped WM6 ROM?

Hi Folks,
Just wondering if anyone can help. I'm thinking it's time to pop my Kaiser's cherry and try some new ROMs to see how much better performance in TomTom can be made...
...I'd really like a T-Mobile original ROM that I could re-flash in case I run into difficulties/need to get back to stock for any reason, particularly as my Kaiser still has warranty on it...
I'd be eternally grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction as I couldn't see anything suitable in a search and the Wiki...
Thanks and regards,
Rob.
If you can't find the Stock ROM Listed, you could always dump your current ROM first. Search "Dumping ROM"
