I also have an Axim X5 that would like some WM6 lovin'.
Anyone heard anything new on this one? WM5 sucks on my i730 and I want to move to WM6.

Ok so how do we upgrade the i730 to WM6?

Man I so wish someone would be able to figure out how to use one of the cdma kitchens to isolate the i730 drivers to use towards getting WM6 on the i730!
right now i have no computer to use, im on my ps3 right now. i want to flash my tilt to the htc rom on my friends comuter, but he has vista. will anything go wrong doing this on vista? has anyone tried?

Man i don't want to be mean nor am I trying here but how did you get all those posts under your belt? Yes it works with Vista the Kaiser ships with the new vista drivers
Yes, you can do all that just fine on Vista. Just be sure to download and install WMDC (Windows Mobile Device Center) 6.1 to do it.

haha well for 1, this is my first ppc, ive only had a smartphone. Ive only done a rom flash to wm6 and that was on my xp computer.
2. i hate vista, hate how it isnt compatible with everything. basicly i was trying to ask if someone has flashed using vista and it successfully worked. I'm only famaliar with xp.
and 3. It's the Kaiser we're talking, you cant blame me for trying as hard as i can to be as careful as possible with it, that thing is expensive! il ask as much stupid questions as possible before peforming something that can possibley brick the phone.

search search seach i would have done. it's just rather hard on the ps3, when i posted this topic my connection was VERY slow.

yea i know, i on my ps3 stilll, my connection is fater so asof right now i am able to serch around for other things im wondering, just before, i couldnt realy do that.

I search a Windows Mobile 5 oder 6 for my ipaq h3870. I know this is a xda forum, but maybe anyone of you can help me.
I don't know if there is a WM6 upgrade for the H3870. I had a H3970, and the highest you can flash it to is WM2003. Unless someone has cooked something new, then you won't have much luck.

I've been trying to work out whether I can (or not) upgrade my Magician (iMate Jam) to WM6.5, but found out 1) that search is (semi?)broken, and 2) that you guys use a hell of a lot of lingo that I don't understand.... So please, can someone tell me whether I can upgrade a Magician model to WM6.5, and if so, could you please point me to relevant tutorials/downloads? Hopefully I'd be able to understand them, it's not like I'm afraid to tinker.

Ok, it says I can do WM6.1 . It doesn't talk about 6.5 though. Any advice there? Or is it just too old? It IS my brother's old one.
If you cook your own ROM you can.

All is matter of reading and searching
have a look on your device section on the forum, perhaps someoene already have a 6.5 ROM
Here , R1 is 6.5. But it is for 128 machines only. To put a 6.5 on a 64 machine would leave so little ram, the phone would be unusable.
