The WM6 Remote Destop Connector / Terminal Services client is great - much better than was available on WM6.
Please note there is a bug in this RDP - you have to install in to the Device on your PDA otherwise the SIP/Keyboard doesn't work.

Pocket Controller or alike prog for MAC?

Is there a program for Mac like Pocket Controller (for PC) that shows my pocket pc screen on my desktop, and let's me operate my pocket pc remotely that way?
I recently went from windows to Mac and find too little aplications for them to interact.
Using Missing Sync.
(WM5 and OS X 10.4.9)
noone? snhif... I'm destined to startup in windows just to have my ppc screen on my mac's screen?!

Please do follow my articles - I've listed ALL the available solutions; at least VNC also supports Mac.
PocketVNC Server does the job.

Are you ABSOLUTELY sure it'll work? It hasn't worked on any of my test devices. PocketVncServ v0.8 ( http://www.smartphonetoday.com/software/pocketpc/pocketVncServ-2004-12-29-ce-pocketpc.html ), on the other hand, does.
Also see http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=514&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 for a complete discussion of this subject (recommended for everyone, especially before asking questions already answered in there ).

Yes, it works like a charm. And I had contact with the programmer. If you have a problem, you can contact him and he will try to help.

wm6 PPC as BT keyboard

I've roamed the forum and didn't found much about this possibity.
Could a wm6 ppc such as a Kaiser could be used as a bluetooth keyboard and paired with, let's say, a PS3 ?
I know there is a BT gps forwarding app (gps2blue) and so it doesn't seem totally undoable...
any thoughts ?
Have a look at http://www.mulliner.org/bluetooth/xkbdbthid.php .
I wanted to port it to wm6 but I do not have enough knowledge and experience in ppc programming. It uses GTK and Bluez and runs on linux, so I think porting it would mean rewriting mostly everything (the bluetooth part as well as the window system part).
But who knows, there are such great developers on xda-dev. Maybe someone has enough time to do this ? If so, I'm really interested.
you could use an application like TabletRemoteControlSuite of SallingClicker. they don't implement Bluetooth HID protocol, but they can be used to remotely control keyboard and mouse over bluetooth / wifi...
Thanks for the link. Sallingclicker is a nice concept but requires a host client, which is a no-no for using in non mac/pc environment.
xkbd-bthid is actually closer to what i'm looking for, sadly not running on wm6...
true, all tools I know require a 'server' application running on you computer...which can be annoying
mabye you can make over your request to Teksoft. They already made the BlueMouse application which enables your PDA to function as a real bluetooth mouse...so I guess they have enough knowledge to create a similar application for a virtual bluetooth keyboad HID, but then it will probably also be shareware instead of opensource...
EDIT: while looking thru the forum at Teksoft, I just noticed that they are already working on a Bluetooth Keyboard HID for theire program Bluemouse...http://teksoftco.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1583&highlight=keyboard
Hu...no, from what i gathered from the teksoft site, what i'm looking for is the exact opposite: pairing my kaiser AS a standard bt keyboard, not pairing it WITH one.
thanks for the link anyway.
you're right, I mixed them up...
hi,
did you already found something for wm6? I'm looking for exactly the same function.
regards
for now this is the solution which is the closest by far:
anyRemote
otherwise tuxmobil.org has some programs listed, but nothing really compareable to xkbd-bthid. sadly.
BlueTooth Windows Media Player control???
Does any one know If I can use my ppc to control windows media player remotely??
Thread Moved to Question&Answers Forum
You can try GRemote, you can connect it through ActiveSync/BT/WiFi, it can use any SIP as keyboard or the hardware keyboard (it has an option for the side of opening the hardware keyboard, for Touch Pro and TyTN II (they open in different directions)), it can be used to control WMP, and not shure about WinAmp, it can be used as TouchPad and as a GameePad. It can be used as Logitech MX Air, but your phone needs a G-Sensor.

Salling clicker is a really good solution for that.
i'm using it to control the mouse/media player/winamp/screen....
there are many scripts out there for this app which let you control a lot of aspects of your comp.
Gremote did not work with my device or computer. too hard to set up. spent an hour and a half before I realized that it is in the diamond section, and probably will not work for me anyway. The rest of the stuff I found is for java.
This reallly bugs me. didn't anyone at MS think about using a ppc to control wmp through activesync??? I bet they thought of it at apple.
F""K it. I give up.

GRemote should work on other devices, altough without acceloremeter some parts will not work completely, but I expect the keyboard and mouse to be working. I'll try myself on my wizard this week.
Did you try Salling Clicker? Very nice tool with very good integration for windows mobile and itunes remote control. and you extend with many script from their forum.
PPC - Keyboard
I need to be able to either plug my Touch Pro into the computer via USB cable which i use to sync or connect it via bluetooth by plugging in some sort of USB dongle.
Either way, I will need to be able to not have to install activesync or any other drivers. I need a plug-n-play solution.
I will be working on multiple computers which have just been re-imaged at work. I do not want to swap keyboards & mouse back and forth between them constantly; however, swapping the dongle or USB cord to my phone wouldn't be as bad. I cannot install software on these PC's to support this.
I would like to plug it in and it recognizes it as a keyboard/mouse just like it would with a real keyboard or mouse.
How would I go about doing this?? Does the Salling Clicker software support this??

no it doesn"t... so far I couldn't find any application wich will work without installing some kind of 'server' on your pc, you always need a PDA and PC application. The apps which are working like this are: SallingClicker (many nice extra features for music and presentations), GRemote (freeware) and PPC Table (nice interface).
My small sony ericsson very simple mobile phone supports a bt mouse and bt keyboard interface. I don't need anything to be installed on pc (except bluetooth stack) and it will recognize my phone as if it is a standard bluetooth mouse or keyboard. Such an application would be very nice for Windows Mobile...

Putty for S710

Hi all,
I was trying the Pocket Putty client today, but I was not able to make it work on my S710.
Seems this has been developed only for Smartphones with touch screen? At least I could not find a way to jump to the input boxes to type connection information in.
Is there a secret trick or is this just not working on a S710`?
Does anybody know an alternative SSH client?
Many thanks again
Andi

Hi,
I use ZaTelnet from http://www.zatelnet.com/zap/main.php
Which works well on my S710.
Mike
is there no free software?
Code:

is it enough for you? Do you see that "it is for free"????

Thats "free" trial with session time limitation.
This is telnet only :-(
Hi,
I was just giving the recommended tool a quick check.
However, I figured out it only supports the telnet protocol but not the SSH which I would need.
So, does anybody know a free tool that also supports SSH?
Pocket Putty would do, but it seems unusable on a WM6 smartphone.
Thanks again for all your help.

Zatelnet support:
Telnet
SSH1
SSH2
SSH2 Interactive
SSH2 Key file
Serial port
Cant find the settings..
Hi,
thank you again.
But are you really really sure the zatelnet light does the trick, not the professional version only?
I may be stupid, but I cannot find the setting where to switch from normal telnet to the SSH connections.
Thanks again for your help.

ZATelnet "light", or: the free version, only supports Telnet. That is correct.
If you want SSH you should use the Professional version.
This one supports Telnet, SSH1 and SSH2 and both password as key login.
One tip: if you use it, you might want to disable your T9 function because else you have to press enter after every key you press
Found MidPSSH
Hi,
just found a java program called MidPSSH.
This is free and seems to do what I expect.
Will continue testing it...

Here is an rdp client
RD Client
You will find a RD Client for WM6 under
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-6700-xv6700/84897-wm6_rdp-mobile-remote-desktop-client.html
Tested it with my Raphale - works perfectly!
Thanks!
Now, I still need to find a good SSH-client....

I think PockeTTY is the best. Still not perfect (specially because it's not optimized for VGA resolution) but at least the best ssh-client I could find.
thank you guys for rdp and ssh, too
When using RDT 6.1 even tho I have the correct UN and PW. It tells me its incorrect. Any idea's plz?
For me it work's perfectly. Maybe you have the wrong keyboard-layout?!

Yeah, working now, one character out on the pw
i got some issues at login at a server 2003 std edition (not a DC). i have to type to domain name, in my case the workgroup name, too. at other servers (2003/2008 DCs) it's working fine with the domain name.

remote desktop client

I searched for it in the forum but didn't find anything about it: can anyone suggest me a remote desktop client to access my PC using a WM 6.5 device? Thank you in advance!
Hi,
try the attached file.
It's from WM6.1, but it works with no problems on WM6.5 (at least, for me)
Good luck
Thank you for fast response, i'll try it ASAP.
WM6.5 have a RDP client default
search ended with this
search for zaDesktopSP.cab it works fine on wm6.5
&
zaTunnel.CAB
it really works with great features
which device and ROM you use? I think it should already be present....no need to install additional software
thank you for sending suggestions. Maybe in Tael ROM rdp client is not included, or at least I can't find it... in wich folder is supposed to be? How the filename looks like?
@ a2287884: Thank you, zaDesktopSP is the only one I can use, since it has the ability to specify the port number (I use port forwarding: at office we all share the same public IP but each PC use a different port number to access 3389 port). It works on WM 6.5.
If somebody finds it useful, here's the official link: http://www.zatelnet.com/zadesktop/main.php

I'm using same ROM and yes rdp client is not included. I tried RDP_61.cab but not works. I mean it says connecting and nothing happens. So i tried zaDesktopSP and works perfect. is this free?
I should say something. You can use RDP_61.cab with port number if its works in your device. ip addressort number.
For example 192.xxx.xxx.xxx:3422
@cem_ari: yes it's free (free as "free beer", not free as "open source"), check on the developer's site (link in my previous post).
@cem_ari: yes that's the way i set port number in win xp client, but in RDP_61.cab I wasn't able to set port number using :1234 format at the end of the IP address, because ":" is not an accepted character, you can only use numbers and dot (.)
