New music/video player out of the blue (Revue) - General Topics

Screenshots and provided information seem promising, but bloody hell I am not going to spend 30$ without at least hearing something good about it or knowing how it operates.

Thanks for pointing this out; I contact them right away for a review copy. (If they don't answer, I purchase it and report on it.)
(BTW, based on the specs, it's nothing particular. For example, the PPC version doesn't even support hi-res VGA screens - unlike CP / TCPMP or even Nero Mobile. I don't think it even supports AVC and if it does, it must be much worse than CP or even TCPMP. That is, I don't have high expectations.)

[APP][2.1+] Backing Tracks Player

Backing Tracks Player is an app for musicians/vocalists that need backing tracks while they perform.
What is a Backing Track?
A backing track is an audio recording that musicians play or sing along to in order to add parts to their music.
Features:
1. Clean layout
2. No auto start
3. Auto pause after each song
4. Simple yet powerful
Instructions:
1. Creates folder labeled "btMusic" on sdcard where you store the audio files
2. Supports .mp3, .mp4, .m4a, .flac (Android 3.1+), .wav, .mid
3. Do not use extra folders inside the "btMusic" folder
4. Click on the song to play and answer the confirmation
5. Open options menu to stop song or exit app
Google Play Link
This app was requested by a few musicians and they wanted it to be as simple as possible. This is why there is no album art or any other fancy features.

v1.2
- Refreshed UI
- Added more supported file types
What exactly differentiates this app from any other audio player? I'm not sure I understand what makes this especially novel or helpful for musicians. Suggestions:
- Multitrack playback - it'd be great to have vocal, guitar, drum, etc stems play synchronously with the ability to solo/mute them on the fly
- Folder integration would be essential for the above feature - each folder could contain all of the stems of a particular track
- Some implementation of tags, eg. style, tempo, genre
- Support for WAV and FLAC, even if they aren't great choices for mobile devices
- Maybe... make it free at least until it has some kind of special functionality? Pardon my bluntness, but don't know why anyone would pay for this
Thanks for the suggestions and I should have stated that I published this as quick as possible for the people that requested this app so there will be some changes in the future.
I also thought the same thing until a musician told me how a player like this would be more helpful than an ordinary player. A regular player is designed for listening to music and not a tool designed for the specific purpose of playing and selecting tracks in a live gig situation. There were complaints of players not having an auto pause feature after each song so they can either take a break or talk to the crowd without having to search around for a pause feature. They said the simpler the player the better because when your in a live situation, you do not need album art, shuffle, or any other features found on the regular media players.
so will it make a backing track from a normal song?

Nope, it is just a player for those tracks. The user would have to supply the tracks through the sdcard, as most musicians already have those tracks made.

[APP][4.4+][NO-ADS]Organize Classical Music with the Unpopular Music Player

I spent lots of time and some money, so maybe this is useful for somebody:
The Unpopular Music Player - Organize and Play Classical Music on Android
Question: There are 1000 music players for Android. Why did this gentleman write the 1001st?
Answer: I have not tested all of these, but any player I tested suffers from the same design flaws, making it unattractive for non-pop-music. Basically the music files are presented in a way that is incomplete and unaesthetic. An example: There are "songs", called "Allegro", performed by "Mozart" -- which is quite improbable. So finally I wrote the app primarily for my own use.
What are the goals:
- Present classical music in its native way, i.e. organised with composer, work title, movements, conductor etc.
- Always show the full information, never truncate text with "..."
- Simple, minimalistic user interface, fast and easy to use.
- Do not use the term "song" for a symphony etc.
- As a side effect the app uses very low system resources.
To make things easy to understand I also created a simple video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZlK8wREEmg
Characteristics:
- No advertisements or hidden costs
- Needs only the necessary permissions (access files), no internet access
- Starts with album list including cover pictures and then plays the album
- Various configuration options
- brutalstmöglich durchgegendert (If you do not understand that, don't mind: As far as I know there is no English translation for that, yet.)
Limitations (trying to honestly list all of these, comments are welcome ...):
- Needs Android 4.4 or higher
- Only plays local files
- Relies on correct mp4 or id3 tags. I recommend kid3 for tagging.
- Cannot access the internet to get missing album covers etc.
- No play lists or advanced filter and search functions
- No animations or other visual effects
- Only German and English localisations

As this is my first Android project I followed the usual way and uploaded it to Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.kromke.andreas.unpopmusicplayerfree
It's also available via Amazon. I have not decided yet if to publish the source code, that might depend on my spare time.

Last words:
Although this is my first Android project, the Unpopular Music Player is not my first software project at all, so hopefully its design is not too bad. Additionally I am currently writing a more sophisticated successor that shall be capable of advanced filtering like "Show me all baroque music that contains the term KONZ whose composer is Telemann and has been performed by the NDR Radiophilharmonie".
Addendum: I also wrote a more advanced media player with database query and search functionality, different views, including folder views etc.: The Opus 1 Music Player. Ask me for a promotion code in case you want to test it, you can then skip the payment procedure.
The program is now "open source" and available from F-Droid.

[APP][5.0+] Libre Music - A FOSS Media Player With CUE Sheet Support

Why Libre Music?
Basically, I've been fed up with the monopoly on Android music players that have CUE sheet support and I took it upon myself to make a media player that will be free, open source, and will support CUE sheets as well as other things which I have planned for the future. Media players with cue sheet support on the Play Store either cost money or have ads, except for AIMP, but I don't like AIMP for other reasons. In addition none of the media players with CUE sheet support are open source and there's no documentation at all on how to add CUE sheet support to your media player.
Features
Support for all popular music formats (MP3, FLAC, WAV, etc...)
Support for CUE sheets and CUE sheets embedded in audio files.
Modern, simple material design
Light and Dark themes
More to come!

Great music player app.
Why do you need Phone autorisation ?
Hello,
It's all in the title, why do you need the phone's authorization? Only to find out who uses your application for testing? Will you delete this authorization request in stable version?
While waiting for your answer, let's test this application
Sincerely.
Please add function to play from folders. A lot of music are not kept in album folders only.
I like the app, but i don't like the icon. Like a communist symbol.
Arabic mp3 files names typed incorrectly and no folder preview
first : arabic words of names of songs not typed correctly
second : No option to see mp3 files by folders
these two options which matters me and not pr sent in this app
Third : no need to access call and contact permission
If you add folder play option than it will my favourite music player.:good:
Only the button are quite large than normal size
Why app should be access to phone contact and calls? And pls add option to choose color accent
Sent from my Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro using XDA Labs
Thank you!
Looked promising, but it ignores cue sheets/files on my installation - but thanks for the effort.
I thought I'd try this, but as soon as I opened it the app demanded access to my phone - not storage, which obviously I'm ok with, but permission to make phone calls? When I denied this permission, the app simply closed.
Given the current furore about an Israeli company's product being used to inject spyware into Whatsapp, there is no way in the world that I'm going to grant this permission, so I've uninstalled the app without even being able to try it. Shame.
Edit: I saw a comment that the app needs phone access to mute music when a call come in. However, Poweramp does not make a phone access permission request.

Does not seem to be a frequent music format, but if you can send me one file by mail from the app or on the Symfonium forum I can easily add support for that since it's supported by ffmpeg.
