Hi,
my brother in law recently got a sony 850i, this phone has the ability to tell you the name of a track and artist that you play into its mic. it does a search against an online database and then returns you infomation about the song (presumably with options to buy the ring tone...)
it works in a similar way to shazam, but it's free (not 50pence per tack like shazam!)
does any one know of ANY windows, or windows mobile software than can do this kind of audio fingerprint and search features? I would love to be able to tag music from the radio with my PPC whilst im out and about!
yeah I would be interested tooo
there is a cab with this feature search for cingular customization cab

I have found what i assume is the correct application you are talking about
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=305897
and have downloaded the app.
installing the app on my spare hermes broke te programs menu!!! had to hard reset it! (thank god i put it on my spare not my main unit
extracted the files with CabWUZ and found the musicID executable, put that onto both my spare and my main hermes and when i run it, it loads the splash screen followed by the main screen and then promptly crashses locking the phone up completly.
have you had this application working? can you offer any advice?
am i useing the same Cingular app you were talkking about?
I've PM'd you my email could you still send me your working cingular app?
MANY thanks!

IT WORKS!
put the exe on the SD card and it runs.. successfully tagged gwen steffani (on the radio at the time honest!!!!)
so how is the billing SUPPOSED to work on this... can't see how they can charge me, but i dont want the app to stop working next week...
i can post just the musicID app if anyone wants it!

never mind my pm
glad to hear that it work
i must admit that i have not tried it for a week but it should not stop working...
were you able to locate the reg entries..
just remove them
that should help
keep us updated
P.S
just for added secruity i hope you are not on at&t and if you are really paranoid then try removing your sim card and see if it still works (should work)
Found the Registry settings which holds the Data about the trial!
HKLM\software\MusicID
so far a delete of this resets the trial period to 3 days!
what more as your privously tagged data is stored a dir on the root of the device under \app data\musicID
this data is left alone and so you can see what previous songs you have tagged!!!
i'll start working on a script to automate the process of editing the registry now....
can someone post the exe thanks
Here you go
MusicID - PPC executable
extract the zip file, you will find the native PPC application.
dump to phone (i found it more stable on SD card) and run.
(trial reset key to come, when i work out mortscript...)
thanks again
i feel that this question is dumb but need to confirm does it have to go to the internet with a media net plan or can it work with having any internet connection?
never mind got it to work. good luck with the script

i would advise you against releasing the script here...it might be taken as an attempt to hack the app... and posting of warez is banned in this forum
P.S just in case you did not notice there is a new real player in that cab (in case you need to stream or play rm file)
Right... SO....
this is my first script so bare with me if it doesn't work for everyone!!!
Don't shout at me ;op !!
Complete setup Instructions.
download this file.
--> Trial MusicID Reset.zip
in here you will find three files
musicID.mscr
MusicID.exe
MortScript-4.0-PPC.cab
(im not sure im supposed to include this for re-distribution, i'll take it down if anyone thinks im not!!)
Step 1)
extract the attached file onto the PC.
Step 2)
Make DIR on SD card
Storage Card\Program Files\MusicID
Step 3)
MusicID.exe in that dir.
Step 4)
Put musicID.mscr into My Docs Dir (can go anywhere, but this is as good as any)
Step 5) Optional!!
Use GSFinder+ or equivilent file explorer to make shortcut to musicID.mscr file. place this shortcut in
\windows\start menu\programs
(if you want it in your programs list)
Step 6)
Install the mortScript-4.0-PPC.cab file.
Step 7)
Run MusicID.mscr and MusicID should run, each time deleting off the registry keys that contain trial infomation...
let me know if you ahve any problems and if anyone knows how to script better than me, let me know what mistakes i made with my script!
I extracted it, and even tried the separately posted MusicID.exe, however when I click on it in Resco File Explorer, nothing happens? I'm running WM2003SE.
Sorry i'm afraid i can't help, this has only been tested on WM05 and WM06
(both hermes)

Thanks, i have that now!
i hadn't relaised it was ALREADY cracked!!
i'd nt have spent the day learning how my self
oh wel it was fun all the same.
i'm using the new Orbit 2 from O2.
it came with a 1GB card for the copilot maps. i have copied the all of the card contents to my 2gb card for more space.
now copilot works fine but i can't launch it from the o2 cube. does anyone know how to make sure that the cube is 'pointing' to the right file - or change any of the settings on this o2 customised screen for that matter.
(for those that don't know, o2 have included their own customised page with the cube. it includes launchers for copilot, yahoo search, radio, file explorer, alarm and office mobile.)
the error message i get is;
"The file cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's components cannot be found. if the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.
thanks all in advance
Have you ensured that all the files (including system and hidden files) from the original sd card have been copied?
i tried to find how the o2 cube looks but i only found this
http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/4wm-reviews-hardware/14241-o2-xda-orbit-2-review.html
which looks exactly like the HTC cube. in any case you might find these useful
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=336234
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=367655
thank you - yes this post helped me to redirect to the storage card.
i may now start playing with the other o2 custom items on the cube.
ur welcome. good to hear
I have a Tilt with wm6 and I am running low on space. I noticed in my windows folder that I have several wma files in there that I did not put in there. They are taking up around 12mb of space but the system will not let me remove them! I have Total Commander and even after changing them to a non-system file, it still won't let me remove them. Do I need them for some odd reason? If not, how can I get rid of them and recover some much desired space?
For example, there is a Gin Blossoms song, a Stylistics song?, Ted Leo Pharmacy song, Communique song, the Oranges, Ray Charles, Frightened something, Assembly of something, and I want to delete the 3G up wave file and video since I have them disabled.
Thanks loads for any help!
you'll need to cook your own rom, or find another rom to install that has all those files removed...
rom files are locked and must be removed before the rom is flashed onto your device.
I was feeling like that was the case. Oh well. Which ROM seems to be the best out there? I have read several posts about Dutty's and how good it is. Anyways, thanks alot for you response.
what i did before was to create a blank file using notepad and then save it as a wma file with the same filename as the ones i wanted to remove. then using Resco Explorer, i copied it over the original file.
i know this will give me more storage space, will it give me more ram too?
no flash ram cant be used as app ram
and for at least most devices not using all the os flash dont even yeld any
storage ram for usage

Oldsap! I hope you realize that by doing this, you actually accomplished NOTHING. Files in ROM can be "covered" with a different version, but they are still there, taking up the space they already did. You merely supplanted a newer version with a smaller size (maybe "0"), covering the one that was there already.
Test my theory, try deleting the 0-byte file you copied there, and miraculously, the old file will appear again, untouched, and the same size it always was.
Test my theory again ... "cover up" one of the files that's 1MB with a file by the same name, but 0 bytes. Then check your storage space, and you will see that you did not save a single byte.
This is just the way that ROM files work. The only way to get rid of them is to cook them out - period.

Hi Chris. I also need Co-Pilot 7. I have an HTC P3300 and want to install it on Windows Mobile 6. If you can't give, just give me a link from where I can download it.
Thanks
Talha
And Chris. How did you become a senior member? I also wnat to become a senior member from a junior one.
Thanks
I was seeding a torrent for it but on the grounds that the person that i was doing it for could connect i deleted it and then i deleted the iso and torrent file. As far as i know there is no other way to get it, also it was seeding at ~10 kbit/s so it was taking an age to upload for who ever was taking. So quite honestly i dont know where you will be able to get the app from now as the person before had hit a dead end finding it
Also to become a senior member you have to have over 100 post, you form junior member => member after ~20 so that means you have to be active in the forum.
OK. But very dishearted.
Thanks for your help.
Talha
I can upload the cd if anyone needs it, I am looking for Australia maps too, as I got a UK version!
Please. I need it. I can give you the Australia maps, too. But please upload it.
Thanks.
Talha
Willing to trade Australian Maps for CoPilot CD + England, Ireland and some Europe Maps which come with my version.
I have the License, but Its for the UK/Europe version, I will also trade my whole license for the Australian License. I have never used mine as It is for the UK version of Orbit 2, but im in Australia. CoPilot I have is valued at over $200+
I bought a second hand Kaiser which has the license card and the 2577 folder on the SD card, when I manually installed the CAB file from the folder it installed 100%. When I start copilot it says not installed properly, the programme runs but their is no map, no voices and when I click on "about" the programme just shuts down. Can anyone show me exactly what should be on the card for it to install and run properly.
Thankyou

Hello together!
After installing TomTom on my HD2 the internal Bluetooth-function doesn´t work...as far as I know it is recommended to rename/delete the following files to fix this issue:
BTTrayCE.exe, BtSdkCE30.dll and BtCoreIf.dll
But in fact I can´t rename/delete any of these files...tried with windows explorer, TotalCommander and the HD2 Explorer (I don´t know if they are in use?! according to the task mangager they aren´t)
So could anybody please upload these 3 files from a working HD2 Device?
I renamed BtSdkCE30.dll and deleted BtCoreIf.dll.
For some reason BtSdkCE30.dll was in use, but I was able to rename it.
As far as I know you leave BTTrayCE.exe the way it is.
Done with Total Commander btw.
Maybe restart your HD2 if you can't even rename them, then try again before doing anything else.
Tomtom doesn't list the software as compatible with the HD2...
So i can imagine none of you did buy it and all use a not compatible cracked version. tttttttttttttttt
So now enjoy the dark side !!!!!!

this works with almost any problem situation with tomtom...
preferable, install to memorycard on another device, then run tomtom from card without installing it, cause you put all the files on memorycard already... yes i did buy it for my touch pro...
If you are installing with a cab file,
Install in your storage card and hard reset.
Now, don't install again.Copy tomtomnavigator.exe from program folder in storage card and place a shorcut in windows programs folder.

It's working well on my HD2 without issues.
Hey there!! First, thank you for your answers!
Well, i really don´t want to make a hard reset!! TomTom itself runs very well on the device (and it runs on my device too), my only problem is that the bluetooth will not work as long as these three files have not been deleted or rather been exchanged with the untouched files .
Let me explain that: If files have been deleted, the HD2 will restore them from the rom automaticly after a reboot and everything is fine. Most people who had to handle with the same problem (TomTom vs. Bluetooth) had success with this method, but a few devices deny the access on these files, so they can´t be deleted or renamed. So is mine.
And for this reason I asked for the original files from a working rom! It would make it possible for me to replace my corrupt files...
Has anybody of you guys a few minutes of time an wants to upload the three files please?
It would really make my day!!

If device deny access to files, they cannot be renamed or deleted, you cannot replace them with other files too... (do you tried Resco Explorer?)
I have made a personalized cab of TomTom Navigator which doesn't install the bluetooth-specific files. If needed I can upload it somewhere and give you the link via PM

You mean the device ID?
You can open the ttnavigator.bif with notepad in your PC for the device details.
How I fixed the problem
I had the same problem, so I deleted the three files with resco. Two of the files will "appear" not to be deleted because they are ROM files. The important thing is that you need to have a shortcut to BTTrayCE.exe in \Windows\Startup.
Thanks for the posts!
As I said, it´s not possible to delete the files in my case...thats why i want some original files to exchange them.
...Is nobody out there how wants to upload these three little files for me? ...
I had this, All I did was launch TC, goto \windows do a select bt* delete all files, and it fails to delete most of them, but soon as I did that BT came back to life....
I can't help with the missing files as my device has still to arrive but I read that installing version 7.915.9196 VGA from HTC Iolite works without the bluetooth problem.
hey guys i could really use that bluetooth file.. i sorta messed it up too with the tom tom...
Hey Londontownguy:
Thanks for your suggestion! But as i said above, i really don´t want to hard reset. And the 7.915.9196 VGA from HTC Iolite doesn´t contain the "healthy" files, so an installation without hardreset doesn´t fix the problem.
Now we are two people including phatjesus81...andagain:
...Is nobody out there how wants to upload these three little files?...
myeah..
i cant start my bluetooth anymore because last week after installing tomtom7 i got the error and baleeted BTTrayCE.exe somewhere , even though it is in my \windows\ folder together with the btcore and btsdkce50 dlls.. cant remove those..
so BBTrayCE.exe is in my windows folder right now , and bluetooth wont start.. does that have anything to do with the other two dll's still being there or am i a booboo?
i mean, i totally removed ttn..
so now i'm totally stuck..
