text and font? - General Topics

is there anyway I can change the text size and font for everything besides apps and maybe some apps? like internet browser? (picsel, IE, Deepfish)?

you can change the system font and its size but you can't do it on a per-app basis.

How to increase font size.

My IE fonts are very small. I have already set the text size to largest. I am sure I have goofed somewhere in my tweaking. Is These a way to increase font?
Thanks
Why you don't change the browser for something better? There's a lot of choises...

Setting application-specific fonts

I have been having fun changing the system font, which is nice and easy to do. I like to use a font called burton, which is very gothic. However, it is unsuitable for reading large amounts of text. Does anyone know if it is possible to force opera mini and feedly, for example, to use a different font (roboto) rather than the system font? The apps themselves do not have a font changing option.

Try use font install in market/play
As far as I can tell Font Installer only changes the system font and cannot change application-specific fonts
Yes... but some app use sys font

[Q] Bigger text

¿Is there any possibility to get the text bigger?
I've stock ROM.
Thanks
There are some apps available to change fonts and font size. But I think you'll need root for them...

You have following options:
1) Install CM9 ROM for HTC ChaCha. Under Settings/System/Font size you can change default font size up to Huge. Huge fonts looks very cool and native on HTC ChaCha. The only exception is System Apps program which has 3 tabs on top "Downloaded", "Runnning" and "All", - and you cannot see tab title "All" because it is out of screen borders (but still selectable on touchscreen).
2) Replace system fonts with larger font. There are fonts which by default are larger comparing to standart DroidSans or Roboto. Also, you can try to scale a font using font development programs (like FontForge). I've tried to enlarge Roboto to 120% of it's standart size. I've applied on my device and it was working, however some characters no longer were properly hinted and aligned and I could not fix that problem with FontForge.
3) Use application or app launcher which can enlarge fonts. Like "Big Fonts" or Go Launcher. I have no experience with these apps.
4) Use application which alters LCD density. This actually will enlarge not only fonts but all the graphics on your screen. I did not tried it, since it causes other problems.
I was able to modify Roboto font by increasing it to 115% using FontCreator app without noticeable aligning/hinting sideeffects.
Font looks ok on CM7.2 ROM, however on few places text overlaps and is cropped from top.

Bold custom font?

I've been using the font, Lintel, as the font of choice for my Android phone for awhile now.
Because my particular phone model does not support cyanogenmod, I use xposed+ifont to set up the system font.
However I noticed that fonts in bold reverts back to the system font as the Lintel font I'm using doesn't seem to support bold font - or at least if it does, the system doesn't seem to use them.
Since the Lintel font family comes in different styles and weight, is there a way to solve this issue? Do I have to repackage a font pack with italics/bold style into the font file? Or is there a way to solve this through root access in Android?
