I found this one on the web:

..from a company called: Ikanos Consulting
Looks very promising, but this was something I thought Microsoft would release..
I'm on the beta
I have it running on a Treo 750V. Mostly using it for remote control of Windows Media Player over Bluetooth (although it should do Wi-Fi as well).

Windows SideShow for Windows Mobile is an application for Windows Mobile 5 and 6 PocketPCs and Smartphones that allows you to use your Windows Mobile device as a Bluetooth SideShow device. Installation instructions are below. This is a beta release.

I've not got this working with my wm6.1 ipaq ppc (classic) with widcomm stack.
please let us know if you get it working with your device (hw&sw versions) and any comments.
Also if you find any gadgets that you recommend let us all know.
Samsung i600 is working perfectly, but there are very few sideshow gadgets and most of them suck .
The mobile app says it is a beta and has expired, does anyone know if there is a newer/better version out there I've been looking all over the place and cant find anything? Am I the only person who thinks sideshow is really cool???
i am also getting a similar message that beta has expired ... any help

Ive had the cab for this for ages, but only recently have I had vista to be able to use it.
Ive had it working well on:
HTC S710 VOX
HTC P3450 ELF
HTC P3450 ELFIN
Doesnt seem to work on my Polaris, doesn't seem to save my user name. Always get asked to "Selected Current User" and can never turn on any gadgets in windows. Anyone else with the same problem?
thats what the expired cab did for me. have you uninstalled the old one and reinstalled the new one?
i'm using it for the media centre gadgets, but i have TV Pack 2008 and they dont work with it :-(
i've been waiting years for sideshow and now the thing i want to use it with isnt suported

yeah tried to install the new one but doesn't work. Apparently Microsoft are working on this but I don't think they will release anything soon. They stated that "We have seen this issue, and are investigating the cause. It seems to be sporadic." Testing this on Windows 7 beta so don't know whether this is the cause or whether it might be the ROM I am using.
I just discovered that there is a SideShow application for Windows Mobile. I installed it on my Vox and after some time (damn Toshiba Bluetooth Stack) I got it working just right. I used the Windows MediaPlayer remote and the PowerPoint remote and I like it a lot. You can browse your library from your phone and start and stop songs. For PowerPoint you can see the current and next slide. Pretty good, give it a try!

I already read about that and I'm looking forward to using it as soon as I get my phone
Thanks. Just had a play and it's pretty impressive. I've tried adding the panel to my Homescreen though (Gonzo's 6.1 for Vox) and have no idea how to do it. Time to read up I guess.
why i get ("Windows SideShow" is not a Windows CE valide application.)
Every steps are fine but i get that message when i click on windows sideshow on my home screen.
thanks for reply :
hehe i found it it's not working on Gonzo's ROM windows 6.0
Works great and directly on your's frauhottelmann
Thanx , man
windows sideshow.exe not digitally signed
I get an error that windows sideshow.exe is not digitally signed, what can i do to get it working?
Mh I think you have to execute it on your PC, it's a self-extracting archive!
I much prefer Salling Clicker. I've been using it for a few years on different devices, even non-smartphones since they have a version that is java based.
You should also look for the beta for Media Center. It's not perfect, but still a good remote. Although I am using my IR-remote most of the time. It slides into the express card slot
Hi guys, I have been trying to get my XDAII to go online THROUGH my desktop computer via bluetooth. PAN.
Sadly, I am having ZERO luck!
On the desktop side, I was using the Toshibia bluetooth stack, I have also tested using the default Microsoft bluetooth stack, And also the bluesoleil stack.
On the XDA side, I tried and failed using WM 6.1 and the default stack, I then upgraded to 6.5 (Which is pretty sweet) and could not get the default stack to work via PAN either. I also installed Widcomm Bluetooth stack which provides much more output than the MS one.
After using the Widcomm drivers, I am getting the impression that my desktop is not offering the PAN service, but I am a little bit confused as to why.
If someone, could provide me with some current and up to date pointers (Please do not link me to random wiki pages made in 2005 - Its all changed!) I would be thankful!
I posted http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520739 to begin with but i gather that is not the best place do it do
Hi everyone.
I wanted to trial some WM software that, eventually, may make it onto Windows Marketplace for Mobile. It is a Wi-Fi remote that will talk to your PC and do things like remote control of WMP (or Media Center on Vista), and do other remote control-type things (like remote lock of your PC). See attachment for screengrab.
If anyone is interested in having a play, please send me a PM. I am looking for about 5-10 folk who are feeling brave and are ready to try this out. Note that you'll need Vista or Win7 and a WM6.1 or higher device with Wi-Fi.
Thanks in advance.
Matt
I have a small problem. I use a netbook (Asus Eee PC 1005HA-H, Atom N280) for my computering. However sometimes I need to have acces to a PC while I'm on the go. I know there is a Remote Desktop program in my HD2, but here's the problem: I use Windows XP Home edition. Which does not have an RDP server in it. There is no way I can use Remote desktop for my laptop sadly.
I do have good experiences with VNC applications such as RealVNC.
So logically, I am now looking for a good, finger-friendly app for my HD2. I am using Google to find more information, but all I seem to find is applications that are from 2005 and VGA, or offers for Viagra.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Finally, after days of searching a mate send me this link via Twitter.
http://www.jamlent.com/2009/11/remote-control-your-pc-with-vnc/
Maybe this will help somebody else. If it isn't going to work I will let it now here.
Any news yet?
Link for the CAB is in that post...
I am currently using the .NET VNC Viewer on my HD2:
http://dotnetvnc.sourceforge.net/
It works. Not the fingerfriendliest App I've seen so far, but.. it's okay for me.
