1. nope - the only app to support the SP platform, AEBPlus, doesn't support app-specific settings
2. yes, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=337602
Menneisyys i just wanted to change the Vox's QuickNotes hardware button to point to Vito Audionotes... will i be able to do it in any manner?
I don't know Vox, but usually there is a ??.lnk file (with ?? as the name of the button, or something like short_ap1.lnk), that is just a shortcut to the app.
Just edit the shortcut; I open the lnk file with vieka wordpad...

I am looking for an app that will close and shutdown the app when you click the X button instead of minimizing.. I know on the 8125 there was Smartskey, but that doesnt seem to work on the 750...
Anyone know what will work?
Well i dunno what is wrong with your smartkeys, but im running smartkeys and it works like a charm...there is a link in the 750 wiki...htc-x button also work...check it out...
Why bother with smartkey? The Ok button is remappable to any app. Just install any task manager and map the OK button. Smartskey will waste the right softkey on a press-and-hold.
I mapped the OK (press) to iLauncher's close function. I mapped the OK (press-and-hold) to ilauncher's task manager. Nice functionality.
yeah i guesss you can do that...but i thought you are not able to assign anything to the soft keys anyways...
I mapped DinarSoft HandySwitcher to the Ok button. Works great
Mapping?

Hi
I need to remap a hardware button to run a program, but I haven't been able to find a reg tweak for it.
I've found these:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\KeyMaps
But from that I can only figure out how to disable or switch the mapping around.
Does anyone know how to do a reg tweak so I can map a hardware button to launch a specific program?
Thanks
Create a lnk file (shortcut) to your desired application, with one of the following names and put it in \Windows folder.
Short_Home - Home
Long_Home - Home
Short_CAMERA - camera
Long_CAMERA - camera
Long_POC - IE button (the one from above long volume up button)
Short_POC- IE button
Aditionaly:
Short_AP1
Long_AP1
Short_AP2
Long_AP2
Short_AP3
Long_AP3
Short_AP4
Long_AP4
for the phones with the 4 extra buttons above softkeys.
eg:
If we want CoolCamera to open at a long press of Camera button:
- make a shortcut to CoolCamera.exe (with Resco Explorer for example)
- rename the shortcut to Long_CAMERA.lnk
- copy the shortcut to \Windows with overwriting.
Aditionaly you can map Long_VolDown & Long_VolUp.
Edit: more info about HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\KeyMaps:

Thanks, but that doesn't work on the C500.
I don't have any shortcuts called anything like that in my windows folder. I tried creating one to test it out, and it was a no go
Any other ideas?
Not exactly what you are after, but you do know that you can assign programs in your start menu to speed dial right? Sorry if you already knew that. Another option is AEButton or whatever its called, but its pay software.

What OS do you have? WM5.0?
PS: that works fine on my HTC Tornado with WM5.0 and WM6.0
try this:
the instructions remain, just the shortcuts filename will change as follow:
CaLP & CaSP - camera
HomeLP - home
LP is coming from long press
SP is coming from short press
Is it possible to assign shortcuts to the keyboards e.g. to start programs? On my Universal I'm using the program PQZ to realize that. Does it work on the Rapahael too?

I don't have a Raphael yet. Can someone else try it, please?
Regards,
Jogi
It already has shortcuts like sms/email/comm manager/internet etc... and when in email or text you have foward/reply etc shortcuts.
hope that helps
What I mean is to define shortcuts of your own (e.g. a combination of keys like Ctrl+e to launch excel). That's (and other things) is possible with PQZ.

I too am in the same situation! I'm still waiting for the raphael to launch here locally.
I used PQz extensively on my universal and am really waiting to hear if it works good on the raphael too...
cheers,
San
I have just tried installin the WM6 version and it crashed and reset itself. Looks like you might have to wait for an updated version guys
PQzII also crashes on mine. However AEKMap works fine to set up CTRL+something for launching (http://ae.inc.ru/aekmap.php). The configuration is a bit complicated, you need to set up a keyboard map file and for instance add
Exec 0002 "\Program Files\WebIS\PocketInformant\PocketInformant.exe"
Key 0233 e0002 ; Execute PocketInformant by pressing Ctrl+3
All the keycodes follow a simple scheme, i.e.
A=0041
CTRL+A=0241
B=0042
CTRL+B=0242
and so on... with a few exceptions for letters J-O which are
004A-004F
before continuing with P=0050
What I haven't found out yet though is how to start links (not .exe) or pass command line options: for instance the link
69#"\Program Files\WebIS\PocketInformant\PocketInformant.exe" tasks -new
should start PocketInformant with the new task dialogue (would love to have that on CTRL+T). Simply putting
Exec 0002 "\Program Files\WebIS\PocketInformant\PocketInformant.exe tasks -new"
does NOT do the job for me.
I installed the Kaiser version (0.0.8e) and so far it appears to be running fine. Can't seem to get it to point to any location besides the storage card, however.
Please let me know if you have any trouble on your Raphael.
Hi all,
I'm an author of PQzII and just got my Raphael.
So, please let me know if you have trouble on Raphael.
I would be happey to hear your voices.

Hi Tom,
great program! Firstly, which version should we use? I followed fhsieh and installed the Kaiser version... It works mostly fine. However it crashes when I try to activate the PQzII task through the Touch Flow 3D task manager. The volume keys don't work like before: if you push them once, the volume dialogue pops up, but then you can't use them to change the volume (once you push them again the dialogue disappears)...
Cheers Dan
Tom,
Is there any way to specify a transparency color for the icon bitmap file? The icon overlay shows up on top of most windows. I would like the icon to be transparent unless PQzII is either in CTRL or ALT mode.
Also, have you been able to map the CTRL or ALT modes to the TXT or envelope keys without Pocket Outlook launching. Mapping the SYM key (0xE6) appears to trigger the CTRL or ALT modes without launching the built-in symbol application.
Thanks.
Tan
Does anyone know if it's possible to click and drag to select multiple entries in a list in 6.5? I know with HTC Touch Flo, you could either use your finger to scroll or your fingernail to select ... Is there something similar in 6.5?

You are able to select text? Please explain how you are doing it because I have been playing with the WM6.5 kitchen on my TP for a few days and I can't seem to select anything by dragging ... Dragging will always instantly pan regardless of pressure or speed unless it's in one of the few apps that I have noticed disable drag panning altogether ... (like notes)
Also I've been unable to find any registry keys that affect the kinetic interface in WM6.5 ... If the OP could give more details on the registry keys that seemed to have an affect, I would appreciate it.
very easy ... open the keyboard .. press ctrl and go on selecting the files. you can also use the shift and select a serious of files by click the first and last file.
i use an artemis 6.5 and it works for me
I also have this problem. I can't select several files on explorer. I have an HTC HD2, and since it has a HTC keyboard that doesn't have the Shift and Control keys, every time I try to select more than one file it pans the list. Using the keyboard seems impossible. This only happens if the list is bigger than the screen. Otherwise it works fine. It is very annoying specially when organizing or deleting multiple files.
I used to have an HTC with an older version of windows mobile with a standard keyboard which worked fine even with shortcuts like Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V.
Anyone knows how to fix this?...or is there a different keyboard, that has the shift and control keys?

Install the standard Microsoft soft keyboard will bring the ctrl and short key. The cab installer is available on this site, please try the 'search' button. For resouce organize puppose, also can install a light and handy app called Total Commander, use its 'virtual 2 windows' view and it also brings a ctrl button to use in the program. Available at ghisler.com
So i have a diamond and i tried some roms, but on some i noticed that the start button was down left and i liked that it came more handy 4 me.Is there a way to move the start buton down left in any rom i chose or it depends on rome version and canot be changed.
there are two ways to do this
the first is to use a 3rd party application like wisbar advance desktop (costs money) with this you can get loads of different types of themes and other modifications
the second is to flash a winmo 6.5 rom thats based on a build over 23047 (i think) in these new roms the entire face of windows mobile has been changed
the start button is down at the bottom as is the X or ok button and the softkeys are they aswell
both excellent options above, but wanted to throw another into the mix if anyone is interested and doesn't want to do rom flashes and/or paid/bloated apps to do this.
I Used a small EXE (4.5 Kb) by Shubaroo.com called StartMenu.exe
http://www.shubaroo.com/index.php?module=startmenu
That simply toggles the existing WinMo Start Menu on/off.
I then mapped my Left Soft-Key (on my Fuze) to execute The StartMenu.exe via a registry Hack at:
\HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112 (left Key)
changed the value of "Default" to "Start"
and "Open" to the "\full-path-to\startment.exe"
\HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113 (is the right key)
You can use Total Commander to edit the registry on a windows mobile phone, but you could also use any Button Mapping app out there to do the same thing (AE Buttons is good), but again I'm into running as few apps as possible so I found the registry hack best.
This tip doesn't move your existing start bar to the bottom, it simply just maps a more thumb-friendly button to opening the existing start-menu.
Hope that helps!
