Hello,
check your Active Sync, make sure that the USB conectaion is allowed. (file --> connection settings --> allow USB connections)
Un-install and re-install active Sync.

on universal:
goto settings->connections->usb to pc
uncheck "enable advanced network functionality"

Hi, is there some way to make activesync to synch only manually. I'm using HTC Wizzard and Activesync 4.2.0. When i connect PDA to PC it start synchronizing and that's annoying.
if you mean by usb then in activesync in the pda
you enter activesync click menu choose connections
it says "when cradled"
But then it will not connect to pc ? i wanna it to connect to PC but not synch data.
well dislect all the options (as in remove the ticks next to mail, calander ect)
or
Under schedule choose Manually
After i have updated my SP from WM6 to WM6 5.2.116.18120 the active Sync does not sync. the Outlook Information (calender, contacts and all other items to sync with Outlook).
What can be the problem...??

Hi,
I just had the same issue.
You have to switch the USB mode on your mobile device:
Go to
Start --> Accessories --> USB Switch
and change the value to RNDIS.
Now you can resync all your date with active sync and outlook.

Hi,
I know this is an old thread but i wanted people thoughts on Activesync over Bluetooth?
What issues are there and how reliable is it?
Im using WM6.1 and plan to sync with Outlook2003 on XPpro sp3.
Thanks
I find activesync via bluetooth very reliable, although not fast enough for transfering large files.
Best way to get it working properly is:
Delete any existing pairings on both the pc and ppc.
Check that the bluetooth program on your pc has a com port set up and that your pc is discoverable.
Go to activesync connection settings on pc, and check that it is set to use the same com port as the previous step.
On ppc, go to activesync and attempt to 'connect via bluetooth'.
When it doesnt find a connection, select to create one, add device, and create a partnership with your pc. It SHOULD find activesync as a service.
Now you can close the bluetooth menu, and 'connect via bluetooth' again.
(this would probably have helped the OP 20 months ago)
Hi!
How can i remove ALL old sync data and software on my PC to be able to start over from scratch?
ToddeSwe
EDIT!
Maybe i should mention that i have removed all sync connections in Activesync on my device (HTC Cruise) as well.
Now i can't connect at all with my PC...
Have You tried these...?
You said, that You've closed connections,
but have you deleted PC from ActiveSync - Options
from your pda? You have to also delete Mobile
Device from PC's Active Sync...
You could also try to remove USB htc usb-device
from device manager in PC, while PDA is connected
to PC. After this operation do those deleting operations
(above).
Finally you could try to reinstall your PC's ActiveSync.
so i just got the new 1005ha asus netbook today and spent the day setting it up as well as the bluetooth to the fuze. i got it to work with my stereo headset as well as to use data over bluetooth for internet
but i cant seem to make it sync up through activesync for file sharing
any help?
ive had the computer setup a port and told the phone to search in activesync and it doesnt find the com port just the same services each time
OK, sorry if you already did all this, its not 100% clear from your posts:
Create a new incoming port on the PC in bluetooth properties. (exactly where this is may vary - on my win xp its called "bluetooth devices" in control panel)
open active sync (on the pc). File / connection settings. check "allow connections to one of the following" <select the com port you just created>
make sure the pc is discoverable & phone bt is on
on the phone - open bluetooth settings and add a new device
select pc, pair, save etc
hopefully now the phone will see the pc, and activesync will now be available as a service
select sevice, save etc.
launch activesync on phone, and select "connect via bluetooth"
remember to disconnect when you're done! - it wont close the bt connection just because its finished its sync
