WM6 refuses to record voice memos - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

Hi,
I cooked my ROM, it's WM6 now but somehow I lost ability to record memos on holding "Record" key.
I found that link points to "hotvoice.exe" in Windows folder. When I click hotvoice.exe in explorer it does not do anything. I expected to see recording toolbar but it just does not do anything.
Anty ideas?
P.S. I just found that voice recording will work only if I assign to any buttons except Button 4. I can assign other programs to button 4 but not Record for whatever reason.

Remapping hardware shortcut keys on a US T-Mobile SDA

There are a few keys on the front of the SDA that I want to remap.
On the front, there's a T-Mobile key and three media player keys.
On the right side, there's a camera key and on the left, a Comm Manager Key and a volume rocker.
Now, the fun part...
In the Windows folder in the root directory (WM5 if that matters), there are a few shortcut files. SHORT_xxx and LONG_xxx
Short is for a press, long is for a hold.
I've remapped the T-Mobile key to the Text messenger.
I've remapped the Comm Manager Key to my Program Manager...
...but here's the issue. Some keys are unmappable. For example, the Comm key, if held, opens the Voice Notes. I changed the shortcut to make it open the AIM client, but when I press it, the AIM client opens and then it quickly opens the Voice Notes program.
Is there another area of WM5, like the registry, that holds info like this? Or do I just have to deal with it?
would love to know more about this, as i have the same phone.
I also have a SDA, but with the Qtek 8300 ROM. When I had the SDA ROM, I could remap the buttons, but under the Qtek ROM (and the I-Mate ROM) the files (Short_AP1.lnk for instance) are unchangeable/undeletable. Can anyone help me remap these buttons?
Thought I might bump this up as I have been trying to figure out how to do it..
Personally im trying to remap a long press of the comm button to open task manager.

Voice recording

Is there any pre-installed voice recording software in treo.
and can i make shortcut pressing left Option button or volume button to go to that program.
You can record your voice in the "notes" program as well as type or write notes. I use it all of the time! Hope this helps

Press-to-Record button

Hi,
When I press and hold the press-to-record button it takes a good two seconds before it starts recording. In my opinion this is too long and I would like it to be shorter, maybe half a second. Is there a registry key or something I can change to make this shorter?
My second qusetion is I have no use for the Voice Recognition app launcher it comes with, I would prefer that I press the PTR button once and it just loads Notes. I can do that if I set the button to the Record program but then I cannot have the Press (Hold) functionality to record on holding it down. If I set them both to Record I get an error that every button must have a unique assignment. Is there any workaround? FWIW I couldn't find Notes in the list there.
Edit: sorry, I forgot to mention my device is a HTC TYTNII.
Thanks!
Chris

Record Button

Can anyone help me on how I can get Voice Note Record Button instead of the Voice Recorder on the Touch Pro. This record button is the one when you press and hold a button it records your voice notes until you release the button. I talking about the one that fuctioin like the voice record toolbar in Notes. We use to have it in other ROMs

trouble mapping hardware button

Trying to map Button 4 - Hold to "Record" so I can hold down the Button 4, wait for beep, make a voice recording, and then release the button to stop the recording and save the WAV file. That's the way it works on the stock ROM.
\Windows\AppButtons contains "Record.lnk" which contains the line "24#:MSVOICE". But in the Button Manager, "Record" does not appear in the "Assign a Program" dropdown list. It should appear, shouldn't it, since the AppButtons folder contains Record.lnk ? Is there a fix?
