HOW DO U MAKE THIS THING WORk!?

Just saw this. Looks interesting. Has anyone been able to get a change in sound quality?
Nice Job!!

Not me... there needs to be a shortcut added to Start Menu/Programs, but even after making that change, still not change in sound quality. Must be a reg edit issue... Can experts investigate this? Thanks!

EQ
Has anyone tried DrDots 3.1 rom it looks like it has this in it but I don't know if it works or not. I no longer have a wizard to test it but if it does work I will investigate and see what I can do.

I'm curious too! Someone with a working equalizer???

thanks for the cab.

Before I install this on my Mogul, does anyone know if this works?
Thanks

I can lounch it on my Mogul, but it does't change any sound. Maybe thise app. works only on WM5.

I can't get it to work either on wm5 or wm6 and never have. The mic part works. Try "SRS WOW HD" instead. Just wondering, shouldn't this be under "Development and Hacking" with the other software?

was not working with HTC offcial WM5 or TNT 6.1 versions..but SRS works..

Equalizer problem
When i change the preset the sound changes, but when i pause the song or play another or stop and play it stops working, i have to set other preset and then set my desired preset back to make it work, but doing this every time a song changes or you pause it is very very annoying... Anyone knows how to fix this?

i have same problem ,did you solve this problem?it is very good eq, but this problem...can you help me how to do it?

was not working with imate kjam WM6

I have purchased HTC P3000 from reliance web world and facing a problem like there is no option for equalizer in windows media player or audio manager associated with it. I have tried HTC Equalizer and HTC Audio Booster but both of them failed to work properly.
Please suggest how to enhance my mobile.

htcTweakUI from Hermes forum

I just noticed the following tool over in the Hermes forum. Looks pretty cool. Some of the settings are specific to a 3G phone, but most look to work for the Wizard (I haven't tested it extensively since I just found it, so be prepared to have to do a hard reset if it isn't compatible)
I couldn't find a thread specifically on it, but here's an image of the A2DP settings screen (which is what caught my attention):

Download the attached zip and move the .exe over onto your phone. Create a shortcut to it if you want it to be in your program folder. Enjoy!
I have heard of some people that actually use this on a wizard. I personally found no use for it. Let us know how it works.

Hi would anyone care to elaborate on this?
I cannot seem to find a satisfying setting that works for me.
The settings shown in the screenprint seem to work as long as your not further then 1 meter from your wizard.
The sound quality seems to be the best when using 41 as bitpool values. But then again the BT skipping seems worse.
A cannot find any explanation for the other values, so i left them alone.
I'm using the XDA mobile 6 ROM.

I can't elaborate, but I do agree with everything you said, I find it best leaving any settings alone. The ingenetics rom dump works best for me.
here is some settings for a2dp on the hermes forum.... i personally don't use it.. but saw your post and figured this might help... some..
not sure if all is applicable to the wizard directly... but looks like it should be good.

Vox/S720 VoIP earpiece/external speaker

Hi,
Bit of a cross post from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299950 , sorry.
Has anyone got the S710 working with the earpiece speaker using SIP? What about on BT or wired headset? If so how? If not does anyone have any ideas whether this is a software or a hardware problem? I know that many HTC phones can't record calls with the other party being heard due to deliberate design choices related to privacy issues, could this be a factor?
Has anyone got the S710 not to cut off WiFi during a VoIP call over WiFi thus cutting off the call? Someone posted something about there being an option not to disconnect WiFi on entering sleep in comm manager? Anyone seen or used this with any sucess?
If anyone has any ideas on resoliving these issues I'll follow them up.
Thanks!
Hi,
The problem with the speaker is software problem and it is listed in the skype known issues list.
We are hoping that it will be fixed in next versions.
You can use only wired handsfree for better quality but not a bluetooth.
For the second issue go to the Wi-fi settings>>Power Mode>>and uncheck the auto turn off checkbox and select best performance.
rtcdll.dll
Thanks funkosgr.
I guess that's encouraging from the point of view of SIP is it means that
1. The rtcdll.dll which has been ripped for an HTC universal leak has the external speaker hardcoded into it.
Or
2. There is a reg setting that no one has located yet which controls the output speaker.
Or, less likely
3. Skype are wrong, it's hard wired somehow, and neither they nor anyone else can use the earpiece speaker from code.
Hmm interesting suggestion. Do we know a HTC model where VoIP works with earpiece speaker? If there is one, let's try the ripped .dlls
I think that as long as htc does not implement the windows apis for WM, that are needed to control the earpiece, we cant do much.
I thought earpice works for SIP in WM6 and that was the main reason why i wanted to buy HTC S710. Shame on Microsoft and HTC for not implementing that.
Symbian (Nokia) phones have no problems with Skype/SIP coming from the earpiece.
For now not for your model, but stay tuned and AGEphone Mobile 2 Speakerphone Edition might just become what you have been looking for

Audio Enhancement application (Equalizer)

Fellow Universal users,
I managed to get an application from my ipaq HX4700 its useful for audio enhancement. It worked flawlessly on my uni, just copy it to programs directorty or wherever you want then run it, it even enhances some of the microphone features, (gain in noisy and quiet environments).
Let me know what you think, download it and test it for yourself.
Cheers everyone!

dj_gabzz Greate, man! It really works! Some times it buggy(need to uncheck/check "Enable Headphone Equaliser" after each track in WMP),but it raelly changes sound!
Most usefull app, since "DSP" on Blue Angels!
thanks dude.
this really comes in handy.
your welcome guys
thanks for the feedback, i just realised that you have to turn it off and back on to reapply the sound settings for each track? do you think there should be a registry value for it or something?.
It changes registry values...
[HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\AdvancedCPL]
EQA
EQB
EQC
EQD
EQE
but the problem is that when Windows Media Player starts playing a file... the EQC, EQD and EQE are automatically reset to 8 (default)...
It's easy a workaround... let me know exactly how it works... (changes need to be applied during, after or before play? are manual changes to the registry applied effectively to audio? do all the registry values enabled and operative (EQA, EQB)?) and I'll develop an app when on holidays...

Thanks Mamiware
i am not sure if you manually change the registry values.. but as far as i realised for now, during the play if you mess with the eq it changes the sound quality and it sounds great but when you skip a track or when you get another song toplay, the eq looks the same way as you modified it but wont work (audio wise) you will have to turn i t off and back on to reapply the setting to that track that started playing.. , it would be great to find a way that changes the registry values and keeps them there..
i think its agreat app for audio lovers..
. . .
I think this topic needs to be stickied since this is a big issue for those people who want to play great quality audio with their devices!

Now that A2DP is working really fine... I think that an app is needed... It's very simple to do... I'll work on it during the next few days... has anyone found other registry tricks to manage audio quality or eq-balance?

Spotify volume reset with every new song played

So, finally Spotify for WM6 is here! Only one problem: Whenever a song is finished playing, the next song is played with the volume reset to a really low value, no matter what the volume was on the song before. Meaning that I have to increase the volume for every song played...
This bug is really annoying, and I havent found a solution so far.
Anyone found a solution/workaround?
SOLVED:
see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=825182
No permanent solution anyone?
Same for me, I paid and it don't work!!! grrr
Same problem here - a lot of other people have mentioned it too.
If we all write to the following link hopefully they'll fix it:

I found kind of a solution, I renamed Windows\HTCVolumeControl.dll to HTCVolumeControl2.dll and did a soft reset.
This made Spotify unable to reset your volume, BUT the hardware volume buttons wouldn't work when Spotify was in the foreground, meaning I had to minimize Spotify every time I wanted to change the volume...
Please help!
I'm running stock ROM on Htc HD2
ROM ver 1.66.409.1 (76641) NOR
Radio 2.06.51.07
I can also send you the HTCVolumeControl.dll if necessary.

I also got another issue with spotify... the sound is "scratching" several times in each song. It's almost like playiong from a CD with scratch-marks...
Any one else got this problem?
I'm using Energy rom...
SOLUTION!
Found a working solution...
I foud a cab that completely removes Htcvolumecontrol.dll from the windows directory here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=117790&d=1222865332
This does fix the problem, but it will also give you the classic volume control from wm6 and remove the htc volume control entirely.

I have a theory; that if someone that doesnt have the problem with spotify resetting the volume on hd2 they should post their htcvolumecontrol.dll for us to try, maybe this can solve the problem in a better way!
Ive got this problem too. I dont want to do the workaround as I like the htc volume control method. Anyone have another solution?

Spotify staff is working on it. Here is the reply I got from support:
Hi!
Thanks for your e-mail!
It's a bug that was found on too late so it will be fixed in the next version. I don't know exactly when that is but we want to do it as soon as possible.

Question ViPER4Android or Dolby Atmos working?

Just got myself one of these lovely devices and so far I'm enjoying it!
One thing I'd like to "fix" though - I'd like to get either ViPER or Dolby working on this as it's the sound I'm used to from the Samsung side of things.
Has anyone managed it?
Thanks!

Thanks - that's very useful to know!
I did try this and whilst it does appear to work (no errors, no warnings, JamesDSP manager starts, etc) I didn't notice any difference in the actual audio output when changing options. Have you? Maybe I'm just going deaf!

It's a common issue with Audio mods and unpatched kernel/system, a simple fix is just to force stop and restart the Jdsp manager, make sure nothing is playing while you're doing this
Confirmed that latest Viper4Android works for me. On global WW .188 rom rooted.
Edit: After testing for sometime the inbuilt audiowizard sound effect equalizer will not work eventhough you can move the sliders and eq.
Noticed a wierd bug if you force close v4a then you will lose control of the app and you would not be able to enable or disable effects. So you will be having the last set audio effect of v4a. For that you need to do a Fast reboot or a full Reboot then a short enable and disable legacy and compatibility mode to get it working back.
