I've searched all over for an antenna to plug into the socket on the rear of the phone to improve the reception I get at home.
Does anyone know where I can get a simple external antenna?

No response so perhaps no-one else is interested but...
I finally found somewhere selling the antenna and the connector/adapter for the 750.
It's at http://www.wpsantennas.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=672.
You can get an antenna cheaper elsewhere but I haven't found the adapter to connect it to the 750 anywhere else.
I have the wilson cellular adapter for the phone...I've broken 3 of them in as many months...they have a tiny little gold pin that extends past the end of the plug. They do help reception, but they fit in VERY tightly, and eventually that little pin will end up breaking...I had to extract one with teeny tiny surgical forceps! In short it does work well, but its very fragile...I'm waiting on a better design from somewhere else.
Plug was way too tight for me too.
So, I filed down the diameter of the black plastic/rubber sleeve that fits into the deep hole in the Treo's casing (using diamond-coated mini-file). Had to remove quite a lot of material. Now plug is MUCH easier to insert and remove.
I've also purchased spare patch lead for when the worst happens.

hey guys about a week ago all the sudden the speakers seem to have went on my device. I recently changed roms and i still cant hear anything. I first noticed when I slept in this week because the alarm was going off but no audio LOL
anyone have any tips or experience with this issue? I have a feeling its hardware but if any sort of firmware upgrade or anything will fix it id love to know!
if it is hardware related...anyone have a guide on how to crack this beast open and check the audio wiring out?
There is a Service Manual for this phone floating around.
Cracking open the case is easy. I just did so to fix the antenna contacts. Unfortunately I broke my speaker cables when reassembling it, so i will need to do this again when my replacement speaker comes in.
Take off the back battery cover and you will see four screws. Using a very small philips screwdriver, remove the four screws, then with a flat plastic probe (or your nails if they are long enough) separate the back case cover from the keyboard, starting from one side, around the top , then the other side. Leave the bottom for last as that has the USB connector holding it together. The speaker is attached to the back case cover near the top, and has a very short cable connecting it to the circuit board. Careful not to pull the back case off too hard or you can snap these thin cables.

I was loking for hours to find Aluminum Covers for the DHD to replace the plastic parts but wasn't able to find them (if they even exist).
I only know that HTC never officially released them.
But since I saw the MAO Method they used on the One S I wanted the same for my DHD
Does anyone know a shop where I can find these covers made of aluminum?

You mean the doors? Won't find them because the clips to hold them in place wont function being made out of aluminum. Thus why only the immobile parts are made of it. If that is not what you are talking about, ignore me Not to mention the signal loss of grounded aluminum over the antennas would be crazy.

But would't it be possible to make the outer part of aluminum and just the clips of plastic?

possible yes, but the biggest factor would be that each plastic door covers an antenna. the led flash covers the gps, the battery covers the wifi, and the bottom door covers your cellular antennas. So replacing those with any kind of metal would connect them to the outer shell and ground them, almost completely shielding your phone from signal.
I just looked at the antenna except of gps (didnt want to open it all up). Wifi is just simply spaned mabe same with GPS. Only antenna that runs a bit through the door is the Sim/SD Door Antenna but if you would take a pretty flat and small cable you could run it through the left hole beside the two connectors. I dont know much about antennas but this could even make a stronger signal doesnt it?
p.s. The hole i mean is a bit upper left the two connectors (phone up side down)

the simple answer is no. antenna length is specific to the frequency it uses.
I understand you need a specific lenght of the antenna for certain frequenzies. So the cable that would be needed to connect the two connectors should have around the same lenght as the the Antenna in the plastic door.
Do you know how accurate this would have to be and how do they realize to use different frequenzies with one antenna GSM around 900 MHZ and WCDMA around 2,1 GHZ?
Anything can be done the real question is how much are you willing to spend?
And is it really worth the trouble to go through trying to fix it?
You should just get a new phone instead of changing the parts.
First off this Xoom is out of warranty. All ready called motorola to try and get the part number, but they are going to replace the whole board which would cost a lot out of warranty.
Well I put my micro sim card adapter into the xoom (with out the sim card in it) and when I pulled it out, it broke off two of the pins in the sim card tray inside the xoom.
So I took the thing apart and bent the pins up and it works great, except that anytime I want to pull it back out, I have to wedge a thin piece of plastic in there to try and slip it out, and it is a pain.
So I have great soldering skills, and I'm confident I can do it my self, but I need to get the correct sim card tray.
The best one I could find is the JAE SF8 and the SF9 series:

I decided to just fix this thing with spare parts.
I found an old R/C car wire with some metal on the end, I broke it off and shaped the metal to the desired size and thickness. It was already bent but I could have done that easily as well.
Then I took the xoom apart with some websites, and also a few videos on youtube that showed me how to get some of the ribbons off with out damaging them.
Then I de-soldered the case, bent it back, and soldered on my new pieces. Put everything back and it works perfectly.
Hopefully this helps someone else, or maybe you can take it in to a small electronic repair shop and they should be able to do this. My soldering skills are not that good, so they could do a MUCH better and more professional looking job.

I have a Nurvo rockchip stick with ridiculous bad wifi reception. It's not the common ground short problem. When I opened it up it turns out it just has two spring loaded contact points (red circle) against the wifi antenna in the cover. I tried to fit an iPhone 5 antenna, but didn't manage to separate the core antenna from the shielding.
Anyone have a tip for an easy (relatively) antenna to solder on? (cheap off ebay preferably)
I've read somewhere about a contact glue that can be use instead of hot soldering. Anybody have any recommendations.
Really need to better the wifi reception, if not it is practically useless.
I'm looking for a cable to wire to the external antenna port of my I9505 S4. I need to know if there are any thinner cables that attach to this port so that I can mount a under the cover antenna for an aluminum battery cover. I know that people say that putting one of these cases on my phone will cut back on the reception so I want to fix this by perhaps mounting some kind of an antenna under the back plate, but have so far not been able to find a cable that will connect to this and will still be able to have the case on my phone. Telco makes that gigantic cable that attaches to large external antennas, but I don't want this. I either want to have something like a laptop antenna under the backplate or just use the whole door as an antenna.
So that being said, let me restate my purpose. I need a thin wire attached to a small plug that uses the external antenna port on my phone. If anyone knows where I can get one, let me know, thank you.
