Sorry if this has been asked before!
As a complete noobie (New Orange HTC TyTn II), can someone please point me to some Stickys or FAQs or good reading material as to where to start with customising my Kaiser.
I have seen some of the cusomised home screens and really like the looks of what can be acheived.
Will I have the HTC ROM or an Orange ROM?
Before I start, is there anyway of ensuring that I can go back to original settings if I screw up?
If I change things, will the Orange specific network access details be lost?
I have read about SSPL, Hard-SPL, ROMs, cooking etc etc, but need to start right at the beginning.

glad to be there...I bought a P4550 today (i'm happy happy happy), and want to change rom
My phone is originally sim-unlock (original HTC?) but I don't know if it's SPL-unlock...
I've tried the HardSPLv1 but stay stuck on a grey activesync icon after unplug-plug operation...not so cool...read somewhere from a guy that you can continue the processus. Right?
Some informations:

HardSPL
You most certainly want to HardSPL your device. It's the best invention since sliced bread.
I suggest running HardSPL and then finding a ROM here you'd like and go to town that way. You can seriously spend weeks reading all the posts to find relevant information--use google to search these forums, it yields far better results than the built in one.
FYI on google if you sarch for "Kaiser HardSPL" you'll get results for all kinds of websites...including those that archive old postings here. A quick fix for searches if you're like me and have a Google Search bar in Firefox is to add "site:xda-developers.com" to your search (e.g. "Kaiser HardSPL site:xda-developers.com").

I can almost guarantee that any question you can come up with in the first few weeks of owning/beginning to flash your device that there's no question you can ask that has not already been asked/answered (including this one I'm responding to).

hi everybody, i have a problem with my kaiser 8925 that after i used for 2 days ,everything was working good ,but a notice that my external memory got stoke and when i pullet out my phone not recognize any storage memory please help me and let me know what i have to do.

Before I posted this thread, I've readen a lot of infos and I can't find an appropriate answer.
Almost all persons who use the HardSPL have an ATT phone, or other, and have sim-lock. That's not my case.
And can't find the direction when you're stuck on a grey icon after unplug/plug. This problem happens on Vista...But I'm on WinXP...I'm confused...
Hope there's someone here who had same problem...

I have a german TyTN II (Vodafone VPA Compact V) and using one of Duttys ROMs at the moment. Some time ago when I thought about flashing my ROM, I dumped the original ROM stuff from my TyTN II to my pc.
For getting the dump files I used "itsutilsbin-20070323". At all its 4 RAW files.
To make my Device flashable I had to use Kaiser-HardSPL. After that I had the white-screen problem which I fixed by following some thread here but I cant really remember which one.
So now to my question. By the given info, is it possible to revert the device back to OEM like for warranty or return?
Ive looked up some (or some more) threads around here and there are many topics to this thesis but well I guess its kind of to many topics to know what to do if you dont really know what ur actually planning to do

There is a german VF ROM. You need to download the right RadioROM (1.27.11.12) and Splash Screen, too. You can find both parts per search here at xda-developers

hi,
okay ive done the reconstruction of my original rom and flashed my kaiser like the documentation of kitchen says. well everything is fine except internet. it pops up an error msg when i use the ie (something like non valid adress, dunno the english error msg). Besides, im also missing some symbols in system settings such as hsdpa settings or device information. So i guess something is wrong with my reconstruction or at least i missed some options to set up while extrakting or cooking the rom.
can anyone help me?

At the beginning it says to download kitchen link to the file "kaiserkitchen.12-21-07.rar". Problem was, this version doesnt work for me. After a while i notized the author of the thread gives a link to this kitchen version:

Hi, i have a Tytn II on orange and i have recently move to O2 so i contated orange and have hand my phone unlocked use the unlock code. I now want to flash my phone to get all the orange crap off it. i dont mind what rom i use just one that gunna be reliable, i do like the clock on the new diamond so i there is rom with that included that would be a bonus. The problems i have is i dont know where to start. i have been reading the forum and it just gets much to much confusing. Please can someone out there help me by writing a step by step guide on how to flash my phone, please also include direct links to downloads of rom, radios and any apps i may need. Below is a lis of all the details of my phone so that anyone that can help knows what state my phone is in a present.

i´m a new user and an informatican but i´m a newbie in flashing smartphones. So i can´t understand the following Problem:
I have a HTC Kaiser 130 from German Provider T-Mobile. Because this wonderful WM 6.0 is so extrem slowly i decided to flash my ROM to new WM6.5. I went to this forum because here you have the best xda-developers ;-) so now to my problem: After flashing (and i was doing it by the newbie flash tutorial!) in each WM6.5 ROM version i found here for Kaiser, i have NO Sound on my device. And when i try to make a call the connection will be established but the speaker and the mic doesn´t work. so what have i done wrong? can anybody help me? i really really don´t want to use the original ROM :-( i´m a power user and i will throw it out of the window when i have to work with 6.0 T-Mobile Brand anymore :-D

I guess you forgot to flash your radio rom.
Try 1.70.19.09 so it will work.

First of all, I'm not too formiliar with roms and hacking phones and stuff.. I installed Manila Mod MaxSense v1.01 last week, but I would like to go back to my old WM.
I have a HTC Touch HD, can anyone post a link or thread with the rom that standard comes with this phone?
