Opera Mini Problem - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

I can install, then run Opera Mini (beta 4), but once I close it, I can find no shortcut, exe, etc... to open it again. I can redownload the installer, which tells me it's already installed. It then asks if I want to run it, and the cycle starts over.
Also, I would like to disable that data transfer warning. Very irritating...

You can launch Opera Mini in the Java manager (in programs, an "e" icon)
About the data transfer warning, you can use Cloudyfa's Jbed java manager and there's a hack to stop that, search around

Thanks for the tips. However, how do I make it the default browser? I didn't have this problem with Opera Mobile...

WMP10 won't start anymoer

Hello!
I'm having a problem with my windows media player 10 on my XDA Mini S running windows mobile 2005. I had a crash with a program that uses the media player interface. Now the player won't start anymore. If I try to start it (from the start menu or the exe from the windows directory or trying to open eg. a mp3 - this makes no difference) nothing happens, no error - just nothing. It even will not show up in the running programs list.
Tried soft reset but it didn't change anything. I realy don't want to make a hard reset because I have so many third party programs installed.
As I have seen, there is no WMP to download and reinstall available.
Anyone any ideas?
Thank
Maik
Yeah you're right: I tried with copy/paste, winrar, winzip, gsplayer. You just can't get it copied because it's embedded in Rom. But if you make a backup with SQB Backup you can backup everything (except for the Rom). Perform a hard reset and restore with full backup.
It takes about 15 minutes. Otherwise there's indeed something wrong with your ppc, i.e. register. Therefore you maybe want to use Winamp (see attachment).

Opera mobile 9.5 bookmark location...

Does anyone know where Opera mobile 9.5 stores bookmarks?
If I remember well is the file opera6
Sorry for my english
Ciao
\Windows\Opera9\fake\*****\oktoberfest\opera6.adr
On the Diamond there is a \Windows\Opera9 but none of the sub-directories cache, help, images, locale, secure, Settings, skin, styles, widgets look possible for bookmarks.
I was basically hoping to edit the default bookmarks directly (from windows), rather than enter each address and then save to favourites.
You can synchronise for favorites with your desktop.
Then import these Internet Explorer favorites into Opera with the "File-->Import and Export" menu. Now you can pick this opera6.adr from your desktop, and put it on your Diamond into "\windows\opera9\".
Another way of doing it is to use link.opera.com
Alas opera mobile doesn't support syncing wth it, but there is a workaround that's pretty easy.
Setup your bookmarks in opera on the desktop, (mac or pc or *nix or whatever) then set up the link, you'll need to sign up first..
Go to link.opera.com in opera mobile, sign in and when the page has loaded save it.
open the saved page and set it as a bookmark (I use the saved speedial page as my homepage in opera mobile).
It's a workaround, but it works and is easy to do, if you need to reflash your device and forget your bookmarks (as if :cough) then you can get them from opera link..
The reason for saving the page? It saves a bit of data transfer and time.
A Solution!
Worked For Me. To Get All Internet Explorer Bookmarks, First Install The Official Beta Off The Website(opera.com) or find opera6.adr from the original opera file that was already on your phone.
Install The Newest Build You Desire, Copy The "opera6.adr" from the original file and paste into the new builds file. Fire opera up and should be there. worked for me! Try It. If my directions were confusing, please forgive me. lol Its what i did tho.
could you post that file so i dont have to uninstall/reinstall.
Extra Help! =]
I Have Diamond Opera Installed On Device Memory.
I Downloaded This Build http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=401643 But Any Should Work. So For My Example We Will Use This One.
Download Either QVGA Or VGA 2392 Or The SD Version. Its Up To You If You Want To Install On Device Memory Or Memory Card (SD).
If Your Device Originally Had Opera Mobile Of Any Version On It, Then Locate The Opera Folder. Mine Is "My Device/Application Data/Opera."
If You Didn't Have A Opera Browser On Your Phone Then Look Below For A Different Solution. Find The opera6.adr File Or It Will Just Say "opera6" On Your Device. Copy It And If You Installed Onto Device Memory Go To "My Device/Windows/Opera9" And Paste It. If You Installed Onto Memory Card Paste It In "My Device/Staorage Card/Program Files/Opera9" There You Go! That Simple!
If Your Device Didn't Originally Have Opera Of Any Version On It, Download This: http://www.opera.com/mobile/download/?man=Windows+Mobile+5.0+Pocket+PC&ver=9.51b2&heading=Windows%20Mobile%205/6%20Pocket%20PC&img=/bitmaps/products/mobile/platform/951b2.gif&extra=Touchscreen-based%20devices%20only.%20Last%20updated:%2020.10.2008
Install Onto Device Or Memory Card. Launch It. Bookmarks Should Be In There. Exit. Then Go To The Installed Location. For Devices Memory The File Should Be In "My Device/Program Files/Opera 9.5 Beta" And For Memory Card It Should Be In My Device/Storage Card/Program Files/Opera 9.5 Beta Aswell. Locate The opera6.adr File Or On Your Device It Will Just Show "opera6". Copy It And Paste Into The "Opera9" File (Assuming You Have Already Installed The Build You Desire) Which Is Located "My Device/Windows/Opera9" If Installed On Device Memory And For Storage Card The Location Is "My Device/Storage Card/Program Files/Opera9." Then Uninstall The Beta Version Load Up Your New Build And That Should Be It!
Hope It Works! And If Any Questions, Ill Try To Help.

Wouldnt Work If I Gave You My "opera6" file. You Would Get My Bookmarks On Your Opera Browser. Just Follow The "Extra Help" I Posted Before This Post.
solution
install opera10 on your desktop pc..
import firefox or ie bookmarks..
edit your bookmarks..forexam. del or add
and then export bookmarks as bookmarks.adr
edit name as opera6.adr
copy it "windows\opera9" and overwrite..

I have a program that use embed IE to load webpages. But whenever a link is clicked that point to for eg, new page.htm, opera pop up to intercept it. Can i prevent opera from doing so which is really irritating?
Any ideas guys?
I have tried to change the registry, HKCR\.htm and ask it to open with IE, but IE simply cannot open the page.
Try this registry edit:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\EFBROWSER\
Value 0="Pocket IE"
Value 1="\Windows\iexplore.exe"

Putting Opera Mini in Internet Tab of Manila 2d?

Hello,
I successfully installed Opera Mini on my Elf using Jbed. Works fine so far.
Problem is, I'd like to have it opened when I click the corresponding button in my Internet-Tab on my Manila 2D homescreen.
I tried using M2DC, but it only lets me select .exe files and I do not have an exclusive .exe for Opera Mini, only JBed. But I'd have working .ink file which opens Opera Mini just fine.
So, how do you put Opera Mini in there?
I'm using the german GOLD-ROM.
You will need to wait for an update for manilla 2d if you want it to directly open opera mini, unless you have programing experience, you can compile a program that will open your link. (and its "lnk" not "ink" )
edit: this workaround would only work for opening the browser but would not be useful for the links you can setup in manilla ....the internet lnks are a service call for the browser if i am not mistaken (which is why you must have an exe file))
joel, sorry to say but you're wrong.
Check here buddy: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=429888
not wrong, just didn't realize there was a program that already did it

Another question:
I'd like to add a shortcut to an RSS-Reader in the internet-tab, below the YouTube shortcut.
Is this possible?

Alternatives to Esmertec Jbed with Opera mini 4.2 & 5?

So, since all Esmertec versions seems to have a bug when I use address completion in Opera, making any keypress autorepeaaaaaaaaaaat until backspace is pressed, I'm wondering if there's another Jbed out there without this bug (on Samsung i780, WM 6.1).
I need to be able to make a shortcut for Opera, making it one click to run and I need to be able to not be nagged for internet access for each time I use it. Any alternatives?
I'm not sure about your particular Opera Mini Version, Phone & Esmertec. I've used both Esmertec and Opera Mini on my phone without that particular issue so I can't help on that matter, however as to the other questions:
1) Need to make a shortcut
2) Need not be nagged for permissions
1) To create a shortcut to ANY Java app, simply create a new "Some_App.lnk" (shortcut) file on your phone (You can use Total Commander to do this on your phone, or Notepad on a PC and transfer) then use the following syntax inside the file:
------------
30#"\Windows\jbed.exe" -run s29_
------------
where "s29_" represents the install number of the Java app
that you are making a shortcut too. In other words if Opera Mini is the 5th app installed (and there were no previous installs/deletes of java apps) then it might be "s4_" (since 0 is actually 1). You can change the number easily enough until you launch the right app. Or browse to \windows\appdb on your phone to see the different apps installed and their corresponding suite numbers.
2) On fixing the Java Permission security thing.. just google on "Fix Java Security Selector.utf" there was an app that I had downloaded awhile back that changes the permissions in the Selector.utf file so that they are all set at max perms allowed and gets rid of the nag. I have seen some posts where even this trick didn't work for some people, but it may be worth a try.
Using i780, all opera mini versions, all esmertec versions and windows mobile 6.1 (which -could- have something to do with it, but I think opera has reported phone specific bugs).
Just uncheck the autocomplete address input in settings.

That's the way, for shortcut and avoiding permision ask.
Opera mini 4.2 works great.
Opera mini 5 beta, works even better!
But I want to use autocomplete!!!
well, you just can't on i780
But there must be a fix!
There is no fix..
Not yet!
I created a JBED & Opera Mini install on SD. Links are on my sig.
Recently, my Opera Mini refused to input pswd. Instead of * it shows blank. Any solution other than fresh install both again? Anything I can do?
