Cannot send/receive text on Helmi .070 ROM - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

I have Helmi's cooked rom (5.3.2908 build 18508.0.7.0) on my tilt which I flashed about 5 days ago and just yesterday noticed that when I send out a simple text message, SMS, the phone says "successful" but the recipient doesn't get it. Also, after noticing something was wrong, I tried sending a text to my phone and its not receiving either.
I don't know if its a bug in Helmi's rom or is it something to do with KaiserTweak application that tinkers with the registry where I've tried both SMS sent notification on or off toggle to see if thats whats causing this OR its something else entirely.
Here's what I've got on my Tilt:
SPB PocketPlus 3.2, Diary 2.5, Backup (latest)
Pocket CM 0.15 with iphone 1.7 theme (this has threaded sms support)
Pocket Keyboard 0.10 with iphone 4.0 skin
Netfront 3.3, HTC Home plugin, TomTom 6, MS Live search 2.5
Umm.. can't think of something else specific.
I'll call ATT as well to see if anything can be done, but fear that if they ask me to read the rom and/or other details, I might shoot myself in the foot.
PLEASE HELP!!
Thanks in advance.

Maybe this helps:
to send a text message with pocketcm you have to hold the send button for a little while...

the problem was with basic texting
I was able to call AT&T tech support and the dude just asked me to power down the phone totally, which apparently is done on the Tilt by pressing and holding the power button. So, it must be something different than a soft-reset as it fixed the problem and I haven't had the trouble since.
I appreciate you giving me a suggestion.
I'm happy now.

I had the AT&T unlimited PDA data plan and a Text/SMS plan for the family. I was able to use both wap.cingular and isp.cingular access points. 4-5 days ago texting died with messages of "access barred". I just called AT&T and the system had my phone as PDA plan only, no texting. They added it back and with that everything works BUT isp.cincular is now blocked.
Using speedtest.net I have found that isp.cingular reports it's location in Los Angeles (where I live) and connecting thru wap.cingular reports my server as in Florida (3000 miles away). The wap.cingular speed is around 500k download and the isp.cingular reports 600-700k.
I called AT&T back and asked if I could get isp.cingular back and was told that they are setting up montoring software to check user usage and would be forcing large bandwidth users to their $69 PDA "tethering" plan which uses isp.cingular. Currently Unlimited PDA data/MMS plans are now being forced to wap.cingular while Unlimited PDA data only plans are using isp.cingular and text/sms needs to be added on-top.
So I'm back up again with the same features again for about $5 more than before, for now.

iphone dataplan with htc

hello,
I currently have 2 cellphone: Iphone (old one) with Edge dataplan from att.
and HTC Polaris.
I was using HTC Polaris with the SIM from Iphone and e/thing was working just fine untill today, when I was unable to use the Internet connection. My skype still connects but my emails and internet explorer and msn don't connect to the network.
Also, earlier I was able to connect to 3G with HTC.
So, I wanted to know what is going on? Is it because that my HTC is trying to connect to 3G network and thats why my access is blocked or is there anyways to fix it?
Thanks.
No.
I had a motorola RAZR (not even edge!, its just regular gprs) with at&t, got the unlimited media net data for 15$ a month, popped the sim out, put it in a polaris and now i get unlimited 3G for 15$ a month.
It's gotta be something with your connection settings and / or your radio rom possibly? Run the connection setup again and try that.
Everything works for me too on ATT, and I'm on some other data plan not the PDA Data plan. The one thing that doesn't work for me is MMS. I think it might have something to do with Proxy settings, although not sure. It's kinda annoying actually.
MMS works for me, but it's hella expensive.
I have a text plan that includes 200 text messages and pay per use MMS.
It's like 75 cents per MMS i believe.
i have unlimited everything. unlimited data, text, mms. the thing is i can't even receive mms, let alone send.
do you have any proxy settings? my settings show now proxy. with a proxy i can only update weather but i can't do anything else. with no proxy i can actually use opera and other wireless data functions.
i wonder if this has something to do with the fact that i did have an iphone data plan before switching to another one. (no i don't have an iphone, long story though) maybe in att system they still think i have an iphone (since the iphone doesn't send or receive mms and might not use the proxy)?
Are you guys w/o MMS configured properly?

Yeah I have all those settings. I am not however using any proxy settings, don't know if that matters. I get a series of errors when I try to upload or download an MMS. When it uploads it gets to 99% then it doesn't send it. when can't remember what happens it tries to receive, something about forbidden. I've seen several people complain about it on the forum but none of those fixes work.
MMS used to work at some point, so I don't know what happened. It might have something to do when my account was on an iPhone data plan for a few hours. Maybe that messes with the proxy settings / MMS settings for that account??

Weird Fuze data problem - anyone else using iPhone data plan on the Fuze?

I am on AT&T, and recently had to switch my smartphone data plan to an iPhone data plan (long story short, they made me when I got a new iPhone, even though with my old iPhone the smartphone plan worked fine).
In theory, I thought that should still work with the Fuze, as it seems there are other people doing that, but after switching, I noticed weird data behavior. The Fuze can still access the internet through some programs, like e-mail, the weather program, and Facebook. It also continues to tether just fine with Bluetooth and USB. But I can't access web pages on either PIE or Opera. I get a 403 Forbidden error no matter what page I try to get to.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a workaround for it? It seems like there has to be a fix, since I am still able to get data. Someone on another forum mentioned making sure there is no proxy, but I don't have any proxies listed that I can find.
I'm open to any suggestions! Thanks guys!
i have the same iphone plan and the fuze does this to me when it has been conected for over 24hours i reset my conection and it works fine for the next 24 hours
I'm using my fuze with my iPhone 3g sim and the only issue I have is the text messages I get when i get a voice mail (I assume that's for visual voicemail).
Have you tried hard resetting or trying another rom?
Well, it's weird. After changing the settings around, switching back and forth from wap.cingular to isp.cingular (because I read the iPhone data plan uses isp.cingular), it's working now, just with the exact same settings I started with. Maybe it reset the settings when I was switching other things around? At any rate, it's working, for whatever reason.
I just ran into a similair problem on my g1 with an iPhone plan. It seems AT&T has changed some settings around as of late. Since the 3.0 update the iPhone seems to try to use the apn "phone" instead of wap.cingular. This is probly from the tethering hacks that use wap.cingular, which if you are using now make it complain of an authentication error. Switching to the apn phone solved my problem on my iPhone & g1
Works ok for me..with a few exceptions
I just put my iphone SIM in my Fuze today..
Phone works fine, email works fine.
I get the funky text messages with Voicemails..would be a real irritant if I got a ton of voicemails.
Opera does not work at all. IE works sporadically and Iris works just fine. This actually gave me the opportunity to make Iris my default browser..
Overall..pretty good..and way better than paying ATT for 2 data plans!

I don't know - there's no reason it shouldn't work perfectly in the Fuze. Data is data. You shouldn't have to pay for two data plans to use two different phones, since you're not using them at the same time.
See a couple of posts back - I got mine to work after fooling around with the settings for a bit. Voicemail will still be messed up, because the iPhone is set up differently with Visual Voicemail, but data should work.

I am guessing that it has something to do with medianet, as the iphone doesn't have medianet. I'll do some more playing, but at least for now I know that I can use both. The iphone wil go back (within my 30 days if I can't easily switch). I can live with no medianet.

I'm just saying that everything should work, Opera and so on. But if you're returning the iPhone anyway, just have them switch your plan to the PDA data plan, and it shouldn't be an issue.

MMS with Data Off?

Hey,
I do not have a data plan with my carrier because virtually everywhere I go has WiFi, so I leach off of this. Because of this, I disabled the data connection so I don't wind up with any accidental charges. But, this leaves me unable to send or receive SMS messages. Has anyone found a good solution for this? Thanks!
If you cant send SMS thats not a data issue. If you mean MMS then:
Here (T-Mob UK) i have 2 connections, my internet connection & my MMS connection. If i receive a media message, the phone connects to the latter - free - and downloads the message.
If i send a mms, it connects again (still free for the data) and sends it. I get billed per mms sent, regardless of the ammount of data.
The internet connection isnt used for messages at all, but for everything else (and is billed per kb)
I'm talking about MMS, I mixed it up in the paragraph. I have to connections with AT&T: Media Net and ISP GRPS. So will just disabling the ISP GRPS connection allow me to send MMS without accidently connecting with Opera a day later on accident?
With AT&T, Data and Messaging are separate features. As long as you have a Messaging or Messaging Unlimited plan, you can send and receive text and MMS messages.
Yes I realize that, but my issue is accidental data usage after the message is sent. I have unlimited MMS and SMS but I dropped the data because most places I go has wi fi. The issue is that I might send a message and an hour later it downloads my email from the data connection either when there is wi fi or not.
I do the same thing with my Fuze, I also have AT&T and use NoData. I just tried to send a MMS and it wont even connect to send it. I even uninstalled NoData and it wouldnt connect. I have done a little looking aroud and with AT&T any smartphone you use has to have a data plan to send MMS, it is true that it doesnt need it but AT&T wont let you connect to media net with out it.

This is correct. As far as I am aware there is no work around for it either. I used email for the longest time instead, but finally decided it was time to get a data plan. Its actually pretty nice.
I think this is very wrong of AT&T to do, I pay for unlimited text and MMS and I cant even use it. I have no need for the data plan, at home I have Wifi I also have it at work and my half hour drive I dont need to be connected to the internet. The only company I know that will let you do something like this is T-Mobile, I did it with them when I had my blackberry.
Yeah it is a little unfair, although really the end user is at fault too for disabling the data feature to avoid accidental charges.
Side note- I thought that with Blackberrys you had to have the BB Data service as it is something RIM mandates or because its a licensing/contractual thing between them and the carrier.

You only need the service books for your carrier for mms to work on the Blackberry, t-mobile will give these out AT&T wont. For the Blackberry the work around is to put in a sim card that has a active BB data plan, it then downloads the service books and when you put your sim back in it will still connect with out charging you for it.
Can anyone tell me the settings to Connect to "Media Net" on AT&T? It would be really appreciated

[Q] Mobilicity Nexus s 9020t MMS / picture downloading issue

Whenever I receive a text with pictures, it displays a downloading bar. When i click on it, it turns into a "downloading" and nothing happens. I've talked with customer support and they've suggested to add the apn on their site even though the phone already came with it by default. I don't have a data plan yet, so I'm not sure if this might be the problem. Any ideas?
Bump, anyone have this trouble also?
Tried calling for custom support, used the right settings for APN. Still cannot send pictures.
Data plan
Well, MMS does use the data and if you dont have a data plan and you are on prepaid service, you might not be able to use data at all. I'm pretty sure that in Mobilicity's case, the data used by MMS is just counted out of your data plan, its not a sepperate MMS messaging charge or anything like that. Also, make sure you have the correct APN settings, they have it on their website.
I do have the correct APN settings, MOWAP and MOMMS as detailed here.
Mobilicity has MMS for all their plans, regardless of data plan. That was exactly my first assumption that since I did not have a data plan, that pictures were not sending or receiving through.
Anyone have a nexus s with mobilicity experiencing the same problem? I've been calling custom support 6 times now, being asked to visit a local dealer, to a warranty support dealer, to back to the customer support help, and then to the samsung customer support. I've been going in circles, tried using a "demo" sim card in one of the mobilicity dealer place, no fix.
I don't have data plan. i can receive and sent mms
my settings
Name- T-Mobile US
apn- wap.voicestream.com
proxy 216.155.165.050
port 8080
mmsc- htpp://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
mms proxy 216.155.165.050
mms port 8080
mcc 310
mnc 260
in order to receive or sent mms you have to check "data enabled "
Well, I got my problem fixed! Apparently you DO need a data plan to receive pictures over mms. The plan states that phones can receive them without the data plan, but smartphones handles pictures differently than regular phones.
I tested out at one of the local stores, and it works. Not sure if like you said, I just need to have "data" on, or actually have the data plan. I'll try the first when my month runs out. Thanks!
Sorry for the bump but i thought it would be better than creating a new thread for the same problem. anyhow, I've recently picked up a nexus s from mobi (with the $25 data plan) and im having problems with the MMS. I usually get a message with the size details, and a "download" button, same problem as you had, it changes to "downloading", then nothing happens.
If i scroll up in the conversation so that the "downloading" button disappears, then scroll down, it's just back to "download." Sometimes (maybe 10% of the time), the message will come up as it should, with no "download" button, the picture just shows up.
ive double and triple checked that the APN settings are 100% correct, so that can't be the problem. I manually updated to the official release of ICS 4.0.3 (from this thread) last night, but it didnt work before either (came stock with 2.3.4) Sorry for the life story, but thanks for any help.

MMS without data

I think I figured out how to get just picture messages without a data plan, so now I can utilize the other half of my unlimited messaging plan. I'm not entirely sure if this works, but just change the APN settings to the T-zones default, (wap.voicestream.com) instead of the epc.tmobile.com APN. I did that because when I clicked just MMS (instead of MMS+internet) for the APN, the option for it to be used disappeared in the menu. I won't know until the bill refreshes online, but I think it worked.
I get picture messages all the time, on this sidekick and my old lx without any data (Mind you I got the stupid lx AFTER data was shut down). In fact, I'm on the $15 unlimited text plan right now for the time being, and when I received the pic, I wasn't on wifi.(if it can even be done on wifi)
Sent from my Sidekick 4G running PDT's Glorious Overdose.
Really?
Really? I've never been able to download MMS messages, and I've always had to have the Data connection running in order to download them. I've run every ROM in this forum and it's been that way for all of them.
