SDA wm6 Questions for Key/Button Registry Values and Cyberon Voice Tag - HTC Tornado

Hello All,
I have two issues I am having difficulty finding the answer to:
1. I am running Andot's PEE wm6 on my SDA and I am trying to find the registry values/paths to the keys for Short_POC (keycode=234), Short_Camera (keycode=233), Long_Camera (don't know keycode), Long_VolUp (keycode=121), and Long_VolDown (keycode=195) (in order to disable these buttons completely without initiating two programs at once with one keypress while running AE Button Plus--button remapping program)...So in short does anyone know the registry values/paths for these buttons so I can effectively disable them from their cooked ROM values?
2. Also, Does anyone know where the Cyberon Voice Tag program is in PEE WM6 (probably needing a registry tweak) in order to make a shortcut to reassign a button instead of the volume down button? Any of the hotvoice programs/shortcuts assigned for Cyberon will not initiate the program (appears like it is hard coded to only function for the long volume down button)
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Thanks for your time!!

I am not sure if I have an answer but have a question: how did you manage to make camera button work with AE Button?
Anyway have you tried to delete mentioned links?

Hello,
Thanks for your question and suggestion. In order for the camera button to work with AE Button (great assistive program, allows you to add up to 4 functions per hardware button...just requires a little getting use to in order to use it) I had to find another program that would not affect the function of the phone if implemented/executed. I went to the task manager (processes) and tested several system programs to make sure that if I created a shortcut to one (renaming Short_Camera and Long_Camera) it would not affect functionality. This should therefore disable the ROM shortcuts assigned to the camera button.
I would prefer not to use another program or this technique to disable those ROM assigned buttons...hence this post and my questions.
For your second question: The system wouldn't allow me to delete these links secondary to them being read only (part of the ROM cook).
Thanks again,
vjgrace

I believe the ROM can be unlocked, can it not?
Otherwise, copy your shortcuts, edit them, and (re)cook your own ROM.

Hello,
Thanks for responding. I am not sure how to go about unlocking ROM. I love the wm6 PEE it is just these two little issues I am wanting to modify, but thanks for your suggestion.

PQZII

Okay, I have been using this amazing little program for one function only for quite some time, but it is a vital ability for me (I use it to create an "esc" key to use with legacy DOS software on my desktop) that I need to access remotely to work from the road.
A co-worker recently bought a Verizon 6700 and I was going to load the same program on his computer. Apparently the nique.com website is gone.
Fortunately I have the cab file (on 2 workstations and my memory card!!) but I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this, where it went, if they are still developing the app. Also, the cab I have was the one specifically for Wizards. A Google search got me to freewarepocketpc.net but the download link took me to the non-existent web page.
Does anyone have the general purpose cab file?
It is still there:
http://www.nicque.com/PQz/PQzII.htm
But I have found a bug:
When using Hermes Dialer to dial a number, or during a phone conversation, the "up" button of the jog-dial is wrongly mapped. Instead of adjusting the in-call volume like the "down" of jog-dial, it switches to the today screen after pressing the "up" jog-dial.
Could anyone confirm that they have the same issue? Thanks.
This was 'the' big thing I was missing since I switched from my Nokia Comminicator to the Imate JasJar.. The Ctrl+Alt keys.
I'm soooo happy I finaly found a solution through this great program.
Many thanks!
I have it installed on the Crossbow WM6 2.02.
I looking for the gsGetFile.dll file to be able to see all files.
But when I click on the link I see a Japanse website, were I can't find the download of the file. Is there a directlink available?

TMobile SDA (US) w/ WM6- Buttons not working!

Let me just begin by saying that you all are awesome. I am incredibly impressed you were able to get WM6 working on the Tornado. I have a TMobile SDA (USA). I used Andot's Perfect WM6 ROM to flash. I didn't have any problems other than a few spontaneous reboots after flashing the ROM. I do have a question though.
After flashing, I now cant get my T-Mobile button nor my review, play, and forward buttons(the ones that are on the same row) to work. I would like them to work with media player like they used to. I could give a rat's ass about the T-Mobile button, but it would be nice to be able to assign it or any of those other buttons to a specific function.
Is there a specific customization CAB I was supposed to install for the TMobile SDA (USA) to get those buttons working? How can I use or reassign those buttons?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Hello atarilynx,
I have your same phone, which is also identical to the sp5m.
go get phil's extras.zip from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1417372&postcount=4
and install the sp5m button fix cab
after that, you can to into wmp and assign the buttons to do their normal tasks.
also, after applying that fix, the t-zones button will open to an ie search page.
Many thanks...
Thanks a bunch...that works for me. You all rock!
Maybe one other question...when I imaged my phone, after it was done, it would reset about every few minutes. Sometimes I would try opening stuff, and it would seem to lock up, then reset.
Things seem to be ok now... I have not had it reset on me once after the first few hours. Did others have that experience too?
Neither of the phones that I've flashed have had that problem.
Both of them being TMob SDAs.
I have no clue why your phone was doing that, hope it got that out of it's system!
actually if you guys notice, it still doesnt work. you will try and configure the fastforward button, but when you try to hold it down, it only sees it as a press, not a hold.
true, the hold and seek feature is lost from those buttons, but you can still do that with the joystick if you must.
I personally have no problem with that as I hardly seek through songs.
something else is still tweaked though, on one of my sda's, i did the button fix then installed the tcpmp shortcuts from mobile.surrealnetworks.com/SDAapps.htm
now the buttons do not line up at all with what they are supposed to do. I think the "previous track" button becomes the play button and whatnot.
maybe phil can come up with a better sp5m fix
or, you know, someone else who actually knows what's going on.
I need to sit down some evening and really dig in and figure out what exactly these fix cabs are doing.
I think you need to find the attribute for WMplayer which is used for seeking forward or backward, then save it as Long_AP#.lnk where # is the button number

In the past, I have had poor luck with assigning a Long_AP command when there wasn't one already set for that button. Not sure if something needs to be added to the registry as well?
Otherwise, I would set long buttons for all sorts of apps :-/
Like, in Andot's rom, I love having the long home go to celetask.
Same, I tried to assign an attribute to long_ap, it did not work, why dont you copy the lnk files from AKU2 ROm ?
That is probably a good suggestion, tho, I still think there is probably more to it . . . I would try it out, but I'm moving in a couple days, and have priorities that must be attended to :-(
i think it has something to do with htcwmpplugin.dll, plus maybe sumthing to do with this registry i found it when i dumped the tmobile rom... and checked the rgu files
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\UIPlugins\{72F3E437-17E6-484E-9C96-13181D4039CB}]
"FriendlyName"="HTC Key Mapping UI Plug-in"
"Description"="HTC Key Mapping UI Plug-in"
"Capabilities"=dword:1
i havent tried most ,too lazy!!! hehehe!
as it has been explained in many posts in the past the htcwmpui plugin is for a homescreen wmp plugin and nothing to do with the buttons
oh ok sorry about that... will it have to do with keybddr.dll then?
What are you guys talking about "assigning attributes" to the long_ap#.lnk?
Are you talking about adding in a command line style switch to change the way the intended application will handle the shortcut?
actualy, i have followed these and othere forums for quite some time and i have yet to see if anyone has figured out how to get the media buttons working on roms were that feature does not come by default

Its not attribute, its parameter/arguments
Yes ! thats what we are talking about
I have created a cab file for the same. but the problem of using the htcwmpplugin is that the keys are mapped differently. the internet explorer key is mapped to the previous button and the play key becomes the previous key.. which is a problem.. that's why i want to know which keypad drivers are being used. The keypad drivers used for tornado music or imate sp5m is a little bit different.
Try using it..

i think i got it... i dumpeed the t-mobile rom took the keybddr.dll folder and incorporated it into andots ppe v6. i also removed the keybddr.dll had in it...
after building it...
i then i copied the sp5m zip files (those short_ap1-4 .lnks) to my windows folder, installed the cab tejasphatak gave here... then it all worked...
the keybddr.dll folder
here is the file incase you guys want it...

i copied the files, then installed the cab, but it's still as if i only installed the cab. the back/reverse buttons works as play and hte play button works as forward and etc...

ctrl/alt for the UNI?

is there a solution for ctrl/alt which does not include PQzII?
i miss this functionality a lot.
i think Mo3ulla last vanilla rom included this by default, without PQzII.
Whats wrong with PQz? I use it and it works flawlessly. I do use PQz 1, not 2 tho.
I've tried PQzI, didn't work for my and added another today 'thingy' which i do not need.
also heard that PQzII can mess up your PDA.
why can't there be a simple version for ctrl. there are unused keys like:
Fn+A -> ctrl+A , Fn+c -> ctrl+c ...
they work in Mo3ulla vanilla WM6.1 Rom without PQz (at least without any exterior sign of it).
following mo3ulla's advice i've used AEK:

Thanks, I've re-maped shift+a/c/q/v/x/z to ctrl+a/c/q/v/x/z using AEK with the sample keymap file.
however i can't map the Fn key to act as ctrl . AEK keyscan utility does not identify Fn+A as any different then just A. well i guess this is a subject for another thread.
added the keymap file (this requires the registered version since it uses the k remap switch).

How to re-map T-Zones key

Hi Gurus,
I've just upgraded my 2 year old TMobile SDA from WM5 to WM6.1 Std from Karhoe's excellent guide.
It worked beautifully, and now I'm trying to tweak the phone to make it better for me.
Firstly, I'd love to map the T-Zones key to the Task Manager app, which I run frequently to free up memory. With the original WM5, it was as easy as editing a registry after app-unlocking the phone.
With the WM6.1 update, I have no idea how to do that again. I found a reference to something like this on this thread but I don't want it to point to a different URL... I want to point it to the Task Manager launcher.
How do I do that?
Also, how do I change the default view on the 'Start' menu from a list of icons to a flat numbered list? I'd love to be able to launch an item with a number... they way I had it in WM5, because my toggle key isn't as responsive as it used to be.
Many thanks!,
Ananda
Edit the AP3 and AP4 file in Windows folder
Short v/s Long?
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction karhoe!
I re-mapped the T-zone button (Short_AP1, Long_AP1) links to point to the Tasks and Task Manager executables, but only the short_ap1 seems to work.
I'm assuming that the short_apX links are executed by a short press, and the long_apX links are executed by a long press... however pressing either for a short click or a long press, both only activate the short_ap1 mapped executable. Am I missing something?
Thanks,
H
I think I posted before somewhere about Long_AP# , it doesn't really work as it has something to do with the keyboard drivers.
Well, I have thought of what you thought before.
To have Short_AP2 to open Messaging, and Long_AP2 for compose new SMS
Ah!
So it doesn't work... possibly, as yet. O well... I can live with that.
Many thanks!

2 QUESTIONS :Cooking with purchased Apps - Manilla 2d Landscape Ability

Hey guys, I have a quick question.
Is it possible to have the unlock codes of purchased applications already in the cab when I'm cooking it?
So I don't have to do input them every time I make an adjustment to my rom.
Unfortunately I won't be sharing the rom... I have a conscience.
2nd Question...
In abusalza's PDACornerUltimate.V10-20931
The Manila 2d Has a landscape mode that "somewhat" works, is this a personal fix or is it included in the lastest Manila 2d Cab?
Thanks Everyone
As for your first question, it is possible but time consuming and tricky. What you'll have to do is find out where the key goes when insterted in the program into the registry (there are programs to see how the registry is altered after a certain move). After that, you'll have to insert that key into the CAB (probably better to do it before making the OEM) which you'll have to use something like WinCE CAB manager. This can be done to most programs and games, not all though.
would I be able to create an OEM out of the program files in my phone, it wouldn't be cab?

No, i've never seen that nor do i think it's possible. I really wanted to do the same thing, however going through many threads and asking so many people about it, i figured it was easier to manually register everything.
Ok great, well that's one down.
Thanks alot Kareem.
Anyone wana take a shot at the other question?
Use Sashimi auto Installer for REG files.
fire use PHM to make a backup of your REG
then register
use PHM again
use find the adjusted REG edits using a REGistry comparer
put the REG files into Sashimi, read up on SAshimi to set it up. and his website has more info on how to do exactly what i said above. incl video
it took me all of 3 hours to learn sashimi and its great..
As for the Second Question, Ask in the thread concerning it.
ive not seen it in the HD3 Releases Im using.
I'm doing that right now.
Another Question.
Do I have to back up my registry from my cooked rom, or can I back up my current rom that has all the applications installed and registered.
