Hi,
I have a v1640 (Qtek 9000) and i wondered how i could configure outlook to receive GMail messages.
Actual config is not a problem. It is just that GMail offers a specific TCP port (SSL:995) for POP3 which i do not see to be configurable in Outlook.
Any idea?
Or any program that would replace outlook?
thx
my Qtek 9000 work fine with normal setings for Gmail
but if you want new mail prog: WebIS mail2, http://pocketinformant.com/products_info.php?p_id=mail&dir=wm

hey all, i am running WM6 on my HTC excaliber and i want to set up my email, basically i don't want the phone to download any mail from my pop3 server but i want to be able to send mail out marked as being from my pop3 account. how can i do this?
Hi,
guys, does anyone here knows how to manual configure right the MS Pocket Outlook (windows mobile 5) for Yahoo Mail? ... Im always stuck in the Incomming Email Password window (UserName, Password & Domain Entry).. and the Auto configuration (Email Setup 2 of 5) is not reliable.. compare to windows mobile 6 Pocket Outlook Auto Configuration for Yahoo Mail, it works well. I use XDA atom(WM5) and Dopod 838pro(WM6).
These are configutations i copied from my Dopod WM6 phone to my Atom WM5 phone:
Incoming Mail Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing Requires Authentication: Yes
Cheers,
Vernon
You can't connect to imap.mail.yahoo.com with pocket outlook from WM5.
To connect to imap.mail.yahoo.com, the mail client MUST send the device ID before the credentials. This has been implemented in Wm6.
Good luck !

thank you very much...
That would actually explain a lot.
I have no problems accessing Yahoo Imap thru Pocket Outlook (default settings), but when entering the same settings in Flexmail, I get authentication errors.
Is it possible that Flexmail doesn't send the Device Id first, and if so, does anyone know if that can be changed?
How to my phone SDAT-Mobile ( HTC Tornado ) can't creat 2 yahoo mail account . i can't creat .
Hi guys, I have my HTC Diamond / Windows Mobile 6.1 and wondered if it is possible to link this up to my domino mail server.
Has anyone here been able to do so, I guess it would have to use POP3 or IMAP if possible?
As a confirmed Lotus Notes user i would suggest looking at:
CommonTime to provide proper push email from your Domino server to WM devices. This means you don't need to enable IMAP or POP3
Other suggestion is to use [http://community.seven.com/main.php]Seven Beta[/url] which will poll your server and then forward to your WM device. Not used this myself for Domino so can't pass comment but they seem to have offerings aimed at Domino users.
Hi Deedee, thanks for the info. Ill look into that one
Thanks
Hello,
I just bought an ChaCha, even though I had problem with HTC's setting up an yahoo email account. Do anyone know if I'll be able to set-up my Yahoo email adress (which is not Yahoo Mail Plus....just the regular one) on this htc?
Please help...
Yahoo does not allow IMAP/SMTP/POP connection from an email client for normal accounts. Only for plus accounts. So it's not the phone.
