Hello
I was just wondering if anyone has flashed their E650 with the HTC rom at all. I will be getting my unlock code soon from Orange due to the fact they are breaking contract with me as they cannot supply a decent signal where I live.
I have 2 questions:
1. is the HTC rom a lot more stable and does live messenger come with it.
2. Does the orange unlock also unlock the CIDlock on the device.
Thanks
I just flashed mine. CID unlocked via IMEI-CHECK. Flash with HTC ROM, but I know have no signal. Or should I say that the phone rings but I cannot answer the call, and cannot phone out.
I flashed my E650 with the Arabic ROM. Its great and really stable. It comes with all the Windows Live stuff and not had any problems with it so far. You can tell it not to install the arabic language at the start and it operates in english fine.

My dad has an At&T tilt (htc kaiser). He unlocked it and we are trying to get it to work in Israel with a cellcom sim card. The sim card in my phone is working in his phone, but the new sim he bought for his phone only works in a slvr l6 we have. On the kaiser, the sim is recognized, but it won't connect to the cellcom network (it does with my cellcom sim card). Do you think upgrading the rom would help the problem (he still has the original rom that came with it from at&t, and he has paid them and unlocked it) and if so, which ROM for the kaiser have you found to be the best for you. If I flash it, will it work fine in the US and in Israel, etc? Now that it is unlocked, is it for good even after reflashing it? If you don't think the rom is the problem, do you have any other suggestions as to why one specific sim would only work in one phone? All suggestions are welcome!!!
ok first thing the rom has nothing to do with that flashing it wont help, what you need to find out is what band that company uses and then select the ban from your phone and that will allow the phone to work if it still dont pick up ur phone wasnt unlock properly, remember it takes a little time to pic up its not as quick as the other phones. If you still choose to flash ur phone you need to read some of the threads first and make up ur mind based on the comments made. but personaly they all are good to me some have a few ups and down but nothing major or you can use the orginal rom posted by dutty a few days ago its stable.
Thanks for the response. This is the weirdest problem I have ever encountered, because my phone (an l6) uses the same sim from the same company (cellcom) and my sim card works perfectly in the kaiser. The new sim card does not work in my l6 OR his kaiser, but works in my mom's cheapie unlocked phone and another (a bit newer) l6 (same model phone!) that we have with us. So connecting to the network is not the problem, as the kaiser does that with my sim in it. But with the new sim in it, the kaiser refuses to connect to the cellcom network. I have no idea where to go from here. Why does it work in one l6 and not another? Why my old one work in my l6 AND his kaiser, but the new sim works in neither? All help is greatly appreciated!!
Hi,
I have a g3 O2 XDA Mini S (bought of ebay unlocked sim free) and after some flashing and unlocking I've popped in my SIMs from Orange and O2 and neither can find the network. Other phones can so it's not a reception issue. I started on O2 wm5, followed the g3 guide with Button then Tmob. Then to Diamond and back to tmob and then up to slim v3. I put the sim in then (it's in my other phone hence why it wasn't in during the flashing) and it couldn't find a signal. I downgraded back to the base O2 incase it had locked itself but that can't see an O2 payg SIM either. Using the lokiwiz0.3a I got a garbled sim unlock code so it looks like it is still unlocked. Any ideas??! I've searched but there are so many threads to go through with ambiguous titles..
Thanks!
I bought an Orange branded TyTn II last week from CEX in excellent condition for £90. I used to have the Vario III variant but always preferred the sleeker look of the HTC variant.
It had WM6.1 on already so i ran the HardSPL and SIM/CID unlocked the device. Everything was fine and all was well, put in my o2 sim to check it was unlocked. The following day i flashed the Shaps WM6 Pro 4.30 WWE ROM and everything was fine again. Put my sim in and used it for texts, installed Tomtom 7 etc, HSDPA and net is all working ok on it and so is the GPS for Tomtom.
I recieved a phonecall but when i answered it it was dead, completely silent. They couldn't hear me either so i'm wondering if there's a solution to this?
Do i need to update the radio rom?
I'd not made a call on it until after i flashed the rom so cant guarantee it worked before hand although i'm sure CEX would have checked it before putting it for sale.
Any help greatly appreciated, cheers
Al
Yes, you need to re-flash the Radio ROM.
Please post any further problems in the flashing guide by mskip.

Hi all, I have a o2 xda orbit which will not work as a phone. It will find the network manually but when you try to phone it attempts to connect, there is approx 30s of quiet and then 3 beeps and the connection ends. When I bought the phone second hand I was told it was unlocked but it doesn't work on any network. I currently have a new O2 sim in it and still nothing.
I have tried flashing the rom with O2's official rom and still nothing. On startup I have the following
IPL 3.0.4.0001
SPL 3.0.4.0000
GSM 02.67.98
OS 3.4.0.0
Is my phone a brick? Or can I fix it?
Many thanks in anticipation of your help.
Hi all,
Just seeking some help, I've recently got a HTC Mozart and I've upgraded it to unlocked Mango. Problem is I bought it locked to Orange UK and I'm with Vodafone. I've just today got an unlock code and it's worked in accepting the SIM card but there is no signal and I can't call anyone. My contacts and messages have come up though.
Any ideas of what the issue could be?
Thanks for Looking.
Have you tried using the connection manager to switch it over to Vodafone?
Yes, I've switched it to Vodafone Contract on connection manager. I've rang vodafone to see if they are maybe blocking the signal as it's a new phone but because the sim works in my old phone they say it's 100% a problem with the phone.
Could it be that I typed in the code after I had upgraded to custom unlocked mango ROM?
And also I hear you have to type the unlock code twice on orange phones but I can't type it in again, there's no option to.
This phone was bought less than a week ago, I can and am considering returning it. I've rang HTC and they think it's a problem with the handset.
I too just got this phone like you, from orange, had it unlocked and have come to the conclusion it just doesn't work on vodafone.
When I did a search for networks on the phone tmobile, orange and 3 uk all came up but not vodafone. I also tried my 3 uk sim and it worked fine. i'm now back on my blackberry as it's the only phone i have which will work with the vodafone sim.
the phone i am keeping. vodafone i am not.
Thanks Livett, that's what I was thinking I tried a t-mobile sim and it worked fine. I think I'm going to change it for an Omnia 7 as I've still got a couple of months of my contract left and my other phone is a £10 vodafone branded phone. Worst phone I've ever experienced. I won't be staying with vodafone though.
Hi, I just thought i'd give you an update.
I updated to Mango last night on this phone and managed to get the sim working. It flits between Edge, HSPA and GPRS connections. Do Vodafone even have 3G? Either way it doesn't work, it's atrocious. I managed to send a text to myself on HSPA, recieved it, picked up the handset and then the signal dropped.
I think it's safe to assume Vodafone does work on this phone as it's unlocked, it's just Vodafone is so **** at coverage it's not even worth it.
Thanks.
