My T-Mobile SDA does not have the automatic time set. I think the network should support it because I have other phones that can set the time automatically. Is there any way to add this, via program or registry hack? I'm still using the stock WM5 that came on it.
You need a different ROM. There is an iPhone rom on here somewhere and one other that does this in WM5.
or go to the PEE WM6 rom.
Can you describe how does it work on wm6. My inner batary is empty and every time i change my sim card the date and time goes somewhere in the past. As I undrstood within this technology I can reboot wait for carrior detected and date and time would be corrected? Would it work on my device? Is that a standart service of mobile operator's, I mean if it deppend on my operator or this function works with every operator
I've just discovered accidentaly :d
In registry
HCKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Drivers > BuiltIn > RIL
NTIZEnable = 1 (Decimal)
If the value does not exist, just creat it (dword)
PS: you need to flash a proper radio version for this feature. (eg: 4.1.13.28_02.61.01)
Radio 4.1.13.28_02.61.01:
http://www.jm012a9749.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/WM6GSMUPDATE.zip
Aditionally you can copy the clock.cpl.xml from andot's ROM if you want to be able to disable/enable this feature via GUI (Settings > Clock & Alarm > Date and Time)
PS: don't flash the radio module if your device is note SuperCIDed. I've tested on a WM6 ROM. Don't know if it does work on WM5.
My radio is exact the same but i have no such registry entry, my HCKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Drivers > has now RIL and etc.
Sorry, I've passed a key..
The complete path is:
HCKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Drivers > BuiltIn > RIL
I will edit my previous post.
can u describe this feature. I change my sim - I start my phone, date and time changes to the date and time my phone's rom was written. How many time should pass to automatically change the phone's time ???? (Sorry for my pervert english
I solved the problem by myself in other way, may be my operator MTS Ukraine doesn't support this feature. I use Time Sync
On every phone restart (network connect) the phone will syncronize with operator's date&time.
..but the network MUST suport this feature.
My network (orange ro) has this feature

BOOTING UP
inserted my sim and turned it on(for the 1st time), it displayed a message "configuring network settings, you can continue your work".
and after sometime is said "restart device?"
this happened each time i canged the sim card. i dont know what all configurations it did, but 1 of them was to set the gprs edge and mms profiles. i found this very handy and usefull.
please include this feature in WM 6.1. im badly missing it.
p.s. im using WM6.1 by Dr. G v1.1
hi,
i use the 19700 version from Dr G.
the network config is available there as I boot / setup my phone first time after flashing. I only use one SIM, so don't now what's going on this case.
I have a bothersome issue, the sim card "refreshes" at irregular intervals when the phone is in standby, making me have to choose a new operator each time using a "operator config" program also accessible under settings. My operator (Network of Norway) isn't even listed, and If I select one of the others all my GPRS and MMS settings are replaced.
Any way to stop the phone form doing this? (Samsung i780, cooked wm 6.1). I had a similar problem with my TYTN, but then I didn't have to change the operator, It just gave me some cryptic setting that I could abort when I started the phone..
Cheers,
Johan
[solved] Add/Change/Delete Internet Conn. on T-Mobile (GER) branded "MDA Vario IV"
I used the official "HTC-connection setting" tool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=388740
running via desktop to change the said settings to be synchronized with ActiveSync. It did overwrite the existing settings, even better: I am able now to type in/change individual settings - this was not possible before
----------------------------------------------------------------
I was surprised and happy a German Vodafone SIM worked just fine in the mentioned phone without unlocking )
But the Internet-Connection ist predefined to T-Mobiles settings and cannot be changed or deleted whatsoever, nor can a new connection be defined.
Since I booked the Internet-Flat option I need to configure the settings to "wap.vodafone.de", or - even better - delete the TMO settings and add a new one with my needed settings.
I´m quite sure this can be done via registy-changes - any suggestions?
I also found another guy with the same problem, but no answer yet:

Any help appeciated!

I bought an HTC Touch2 (unbranded) and for whatever reason I can not change the "Network selection" to "Manual".
The "Phone -> Menu -> Options... -> Network" screen didn't even contain any settings besides "Find Network".
A quick google found the policy setting reliable for it and changing "HKLM\Security\phone\ManualDisable = 0" does bring the desired setting temporarily back.
However, after a reboot the key changes back to 0. (Could fix that with a program in autostart.)
However even with the setting enabled I can not change it to manual selection. The moment I try to select a network from the list I get the following error message: "Cannot register on selected network. Choose another network, or disconnect you data connection." (I have not data connection open.)
Any ideas?
Help would be appreciated!
Christian
I thought it might be a TouchFlo issue, as the Band selection is gone as well but accessable through TouchFlo.
But the settings are available on the HTC Touch pro2. I am really annoyed about this issue, as I deliberatly bought an unbranded device to avoid having to hack it -> if I wanted that pleasure I would have bought an i-thing.
I was able to identify the registry keys changed by the setting:
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\PhoneNetSelMode]
"ManualNet"="11122"
"Option"=dword:00000001
111 = the desired networks MCC
22 = the desired networks MNC
I will try out if setting the keys manually will have the desired effect or if they will get set back automatically after reboot. Should that work I might just write an app to set them. (Somehow I doubt it though.)
Is there a contact for HTC one can contact for this kind of enquires?
Just in case anybody else has the same issue.
it turned out that the SIM card sent an ADPU command to the ME on initialization that told the OS to disable the functions.
So running my batch was overwritten every time the phone reconnected to the network.
Getting a different SIM card solved that issue.
i have this same exact problem. i don't mind buying a new simcard, but before i do how can i be sure i'm buying one that doesn't send the adpu command to reset the registry? i doubt the guys at the store i buy the simcard from will have a clue what i'm talking about. i have a really old sim from cingular before they were bought by att, which is my current provider.
do you have a script or batch that i can run on my phone manually to set the registry? i'm using ceregeditor now but if i don't have a computer then i need to be able to set this key using just the phone.
thanks!
Moved to QnA, not dev related.
Hey, I have this guy I was working with trying to get his MMS working on his Wing/Herald. When I noticed the menu structure was ass-backwards I checked the ROM version: "OpenTouch 4CN WWE".
Anyway, I found the MMS gprs settings and was able to key those in, but I'm Unable to find the standard internet settings. On a standard T-Mo software, the path would be Start>Settings>Connections Tab>Connection>"Manage existing connection" - But this option is not here! It only has options for adding a modem, setting up a vpn, and managing a proxy. So where is the "My Work Network" page?
Sorry if it all sounds really naive, I own a G1 personally and have followed this forum for over a year working with the roms available, but never personally even owned an winmo device.
I'm not sure on that version of OpenTouch... But try this (from OpenTouch tutorial)
Network Wizard:
Go to \Start\Settings\Connections\Network Wizard
Choose your location and provider, do not reset the device when prompted.
Connections
Go to \Start\Settings\Connections\Connections
Once completed save and exit
may need to input "wap.voicestream.com"

Thanks, yeah I'll be calling him back tomorrow so hopefully that works. The second step is goofy though, with the "Go to \Start\Settings\Connections\Connections", as that takes us to the page I described earlier with no options to change APNs. We'll see. Thanks for checking into that for me!
