Hi guys
I'm trying to remove Agile Messenger from the startup
It seems the phone is hanging and going toooo slow when booting, and when I removed the microSD card, I got a message regarding Agile Messenger couldn't start, and there I noticed that IT was the problem, because phone went ok again
Do you know which key should I see for removing startup programs ?
I couldn't find the Software->Microsoft->Windows->Current Version->Run
Have you checked \windows\startup already?

Hi Guys,
Have searched archives for this problem but cannot find anything. Apologies if I have missed the thread.
TomTom Nav 5 stopped working completely yesterday. Have hard reset the hermes. Formatted micro sd and re-loaded ttn5 including 5.2x update onto card. Inserted card into hermes. white TomTom screen appears momentarily then disappears. Not installing.
Followed manual installation instructions and opened individual CAB files and installed to device. Now have Tomtom appearing in programs list and shortcut on the today screen however program will not run. Tap shortcut or icon in programs and following happens:
red "hands" appear in system tray.
top of screen momentarily displays tomtom
both hands and tomtom at top of screen disappear leaving normal today screen.
Running programs shows no sign of Tomtom running.
I have tried soft resets and removing micro sd.
Nothing will work.
Have been using this program for nearly 2 years on this phone without a single glitch.
Now at wits end and so desperately need some good advice!
Please help!
Best wishes,
Stuart
Hi guys,
A colleague of mine is currently looking into a win mob device and the security of it.
Upon startup, an applications auto starts that runs fullscreen.
This app does not have any exits buttons etc that allow you to exit the app to get to the underlying OS.
I know nothing of the hardware that it is being run on but need to know any short-cut keys, techniques, etc for breaking out of a "locked" environment that would be much appreciated.
One thing that came to mind was the possibility of rebooting the winmob device but preventing the app from autostarting.... is there anything like a winmob safe mode?
Cheers in advance
You could program one of the hardware buttons to take you to the "today" screen.

Click to collapse
Except that would require you to be able to get to the settings in the first place.

There are apps that do safemode but it doesn't sound like you're in a position to install any apps... you can try to connect to your PC and see if ActiveSync will connect and from there you can delete installed apps (assuming the thing popping up shows up on the apps list) and then try to reboot. Otherwise, just hard reset the device ands tart with a fresh OS.
You could make a program or link on an SD card in folder 2577, which should start automatically when inserted into the device.
I just got a Touch Pro 2 and I was in middle of installing SPB mobile shell from a faulty SD card and the installation failed half way.
SPB shell disables touchflo so even though the program did not fully install, it removed the touchflo interface.
I ran windows\manila.exe and was able to get touch flo back that way, but when I restart the phone it does not start up automatically. I copied manila.exe to the startup folder and this didn't work. How I can I get it back to automatic start up?
Welcome to forums
A hard reset is the best option to get all working again, some files are messed up by now.
Next time, before install any today plugins, or any program that bring together with a today plugin, like Windows live etc., disable touchflo from today settings first, it is located in the items tab of today settings, then it will not happen again.

Have you tried to install spb again? Installing it would at least give you a working prgramme?
If not, then you could remove all folders and reg entries created by spb, but this could get messy if you are not confident in playing with reg?
Yeah a hard reset is a lot of hassle, I can get touchflo fully working by running manila.exe... Shouldn't be too difficult to get it to start up automatically.
How can I add it as a startup entry? Shortcut in the startup folder didnt work...
Dear Touche pro experts,
I have a huge feeling that a bricked my touch pro. So i make a post here ( not in romdev. because i wasnt updating a rom). This is what happend:
1 I was trying to install tomtom. That went wrong (could not activate the map, so i removed tomtom normal. Due remove programs. That went fine.
2 Then i wanted to delete the tomtom.cab file. It was on my SD card in a folder called \apps\tomtom. But instead of deleting the cabfile i deleted the whole apps folder
Still no problem...
3 I also had the blackberry app in that folder. But that was gone also. So i decided to remove the blackberry app also on the normal way. Due remove programs. I did that and still no problem. But after removing the app, i got a message (something like), please reboot youre device.
I tought, well that might be a good thing, indeed because i removed so much. So i pushed the on/off button and i reset the fuzz.... Then this happens...
The fuzz buzzes and shows the M rom screen, it also shows (in red) te version.
Then the HTC, just brilliant screen shows. Just like it should be. Even with the right background, sound and so.
But thats it.... Normally the screen comes up to enter youre security code. But that doesnt comes up any more... The screen stay black. I can see that the screen is lit up a bit, > the sides are lit. But that is it.
I removed battery, cards etc etc. But it stays the same,
I can also here the connection sound of my laptop. So the laptop does reconise it.... But to bad, that is it also... I get no map or something. Also active sync does not show...
So now i am really stucked... What can be wrong or who nows what to do now...
I fixed it... I was lucky that i still could preform a hard reset en reinstall the fuzz.....
I have a T-Mobile HTC HD2. I do NOT want to update it or do anything that requires a factory reset. Whenever my Sense application freezes (quite often, and usually when I open a new text), I am unable to access the Settings menu to turn off or restart Sense in the Today Screen settings, because I cannot GET to the Today settings. It simply does nothing when I tap "Settings" in the start menu. If I have to restart the phone, it takes approximately 2 minutes and 30 seconds to turn back on, which is unacceptable. I want to know how to restart a frozen Sense without restarting the Device (in a minute or less). I have tried ReSense and it does not work. I have also tried looking for the Today settings application in the File Explorer, with no success there either.
Try to use CleanRAM, and select level 3. Hope this helps, Google will be your friend.
Thanks! That worked to restart Sense and speed up my phone as well.
Hi guys,
I will let my experience here...
I had a very specific kind of freeze tha happened about 3 months since the last hard reset.
This freeze occurs this way:
- Someday (i don't know how and neither why...) when my phone restarts after about 2 to 5 minutes it freeze if still on any sense screen... and nothing works, except for push windows button that make it goes to start screen... On windows screen if I wait more than a minute to do something it freezes again and I need to push windows button again, then I can go to my folders and run any program...
- sometimes it just freezes if I push lock\end button and when I try to slide the unlocker it freezes and the only thing that works again is the start button.
- If I restart my HD2 without the memory card inside I never get any freezing at all...
- The solution: I deleted (on storage card) the "HTC" folder (in the "application data" folder and every file called "device" or "album" or "thumbnail" on storage card. On restart the phone create new files and foders like that, but the freezes disapears !!!
