IM to SMS through internet - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

Hey guys I know it can be done because the Tmobile wing has the capability of doing it. i am looking for the version of aim or the cab of a client that will allow me to have my phone connected to wifi or gprs(preferebly wifi) send an IM to a cell phone as an SMS.
I have tried different verssionns of msn messanger, live messanger, agile, IM+, and aim OZ pocket PC. the closest I have come to this was through AIM I can text from my laptop to a SMS on a phone but have not been able to get the condenseed Buddylist that lacks mobile devices to download on to my wizard from the internet.
any help is appreciated!

if you already have aim on your wizard all you to do is send a message to the cell phone by adding a plus and the number for example in the to field you would have +16278286252 and this will send the IM as SMS to the person.

thats correct if was on my laptop. On the AIm thats on my phone i get "Previous message not recieved by +16278286252 because of error: User+16278286252 not available" when I attempt to text someone. The numbers/contacts that are on my buddy list appear as PleaseUpgrade000 and .
Im testing with a phone phone that is available and is recieving texts from the same aim account from the laptop

Push Email

New Push Email service by emoze - not sure how good it is as I couldn't get the client to connect on my magician thru wifi.Tech support is ok and interactive online so I have a call open at the moment to resolve why I cannot get this working thru my wifi network.
Seems to support quite a few pocket pc's and is similar in the way it sends a sms message for email notification - so not new but it is free.
If I could get it working I could update you on whether it is any good?

Cant find a free sms app

Ive been searching for months now and i give up
Im looking for a free sms client that loads the phone numbers from your contacts on your phone and sends sms messages through the internet so it doesnt charge Sprint
please does this app even exist
Oh and you guys rule
problem is that sms's are really ment for phone to phone only
to be sendt over the internet there needs to be a server in the other end
resending the sms out on the normal phone network for the phone which
may not be on the internet at all can recieve it
there are many such services some charge some dont
an app would be hard pressed to support more then just a few of those
and any change to their sites would most likely require a new version
of the program
of cause this dont mean there are no such tools out there

AIM on HTC P4351

Hi. I have an unlocked HTC P4351 (a.k.a. T-Mobile Wing), I want to get an IM program on it, to use my SMS gateway to log in to AIM network and to send/receive messages. The T-Mo's version of the same device, is the Wing, has this OZ Messenger on it, you don't need no data plan for it to work (Log In and to Send/Receive Instant Messages.) Since my device is unlocked (not T-Mobile Branded), I had to manually set up the connection for MMS. So I probably need to set up some other connection for this also, to start maybe some another "GPRS" other than the one that starts when I send/receive MMS.
All I want, is to get a normal AIM app on my phone, and for it to use my SMS connection to sign on and to send/receive Instant Messages.
Thank You For You Help!

Sending texts through phone, on a computer

Does anyone know of any apps that allow you to send and receive text messages through your phone with your computer? I know that PDA Net has the ability but it isn't compatible with Mac OSX. I am looking for something dedicated to text messages. I know I can do this with a VNC to my phone but that kind of thing is too laggy and slow.
Thanks!
Hi,
The greatest App there is right now is smshare
You have to install this app on your Android phone, and the smshare Extension on your Chrome Browser.
Then you can type your SMS in the Chrome-Extension, and then the SMS will be sent to your phone, which then sends them as normal SMS. No Wifi hassels, and really comfortable and fast.
A new feature of smshare is that your incoming sms can be forwarded to your email account - so you don't even need to touch your phone for communication via SMS.
Another way is to use the Wifi SMS Apps.
On these kind of Apps (like for example RemoteSMS) you have to connect your phone to the same Wlan as your Computer, start the App on the Phone, and then you can log into an Webinterface with your Browser and compose the SMS there which then are sent from your phone.
The problem with smshare is that it uses a third party server so if privacy is a concern, then remotesms is much better. I use remotesms and u can actually connect via WLAN, usb or Bluetooth and it's a direct connection so no privacy concerns. Works brilliantly.
Much thanks for both of your for your replies. This is exactly what I was looking for!
SMS2PC gets my vote. Lovely simple interface!

google Talk Notification - on phone and laptop at the same time

I understand that when I am signed in on gTalk on both phone and laptop at the same time, an incoming message will be notified on both the phone and the laptop. Is there any way to make it so that when I am also on laptop, the notification will not come up on the phone?
beside gtalk, i also used msn and facebook chat which also support multiple sign in. apparently, this is the behavior of the im client, only gtalk is smarter, once you reply to chat it will know where you are currently active and won't notify at other devices. the dumbest is of course facebook, where it will send multiple message to all clients non stop for few days.
so i guess a better place to ask this maybe here http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Talk
